Obama: Religious Acceptance Key to Combating Extremism

Andrew Rafferty, NBC News, February 19, 2015

President Barack Obama told world leaders on Thursday that promoting democracy and acceptance of people of all faiths are essential to stopping the spread of violent extremism.

“Groups like al Qaeda and [ISIS] peddle the lie that some of our countries are hostile to Muslims. Meanwhile we’ve also seen, most recently in Europe, arise inexcusable acts of anti-Semitism, or in some cases anti-Muslim sentiment, or anti-immigrant sentiment,” Obama said at the closing session of a White House summit on combating extremism. “When people spew hatred towards others–because of their faith or because they’re immigrants–it feeds into terrorist narratives.”

The president also said stability requires democratic governments and that oppressing groups upon sectarian lines fuels the hatred that creates terrorism. The Sunnis alienation from the Iraqi government was a major factor that led to the rise of ISIS.

“When people are oppressed and human rights are denied, particularly along sectarian lines, or ethnic lines, when dissent is silenced, it feeds violent extremists,” Obama said.

Notice the redefinition of reality here? Disapproval is now redefined as “hatred.”

    • Sighisoara

I know right? I can’t dislike, be disgusted by, or disapprove without it being ‘hatred.’ I don’t have the energy for hatred, but I’m feeling a lot of disgust lately.

    • Pelayo

I really don’t give a rats ass how they define anything. They won’t change my mind by calling me names.. It’s high time we stop caring what our enemies think of us.

Far be it from me to point out that the actual on-the-ground reality and results have shown just the opposite.

It is more evidence that we’re nowhere near being able to combat the seventh century totalitarian death cult truly and effectively. We continue to misinterpret tribal threats as ideological threats, therefore our responses are ideological and not tribal.

  • MekongDelta69

Did you see the word “White” in the article?

    Nah – me neither…

(And I’m not counting “White House”!)

  • TomIron361

    “people spew hatred towards others.”
Hatred should be spewed in a tasteful and respectful manner. There is a family of haters who live two door down from me on my block and they’re the most wonderful, loving, sweet . people you would ever want to meet.

Islamic countries have stagnant economies and high birth rates. They have schools that teach Muslim dogma, rather than marketable job skills. Millions of young men enter job markets with little use for them. Many long for the affections of 72 Heavenly virgins because they despair of their chances of attracting a wife and raising a family.

The deficiencies of Islamic countries and Muslim young men are not our fault. We do have an obligation to defend ourselves from them.

    • Whitetrashgang

72 virgins? I would settle for one and a nice dog, just like my just passed away dog Halley.

      • Spikeygrrl

I am so sorry for your loss. As you surely know, it only helps to a certain extent to get another puppy after a reasonable interval. Every dog is an individual, and every dog we’ve got loved who passes away from us leaves an individual-shaped hole in our hearts. The only times I actually wish there’s an afterlife is when I picture ALL the GSDs I’ve ever had in some canine version of Heaven. THEY deserve it. WE, by and large, do not.

They only break your heart when they die.
        Never when they’re alive.

Rampant inbreeding and its ramifications probably plays a role as well.

As does the fact that the African slave trade injected Negro genes into the Arab genome. Arabs castrated their male slaves. They had children by their female slaves. Negro genes are the biological reason Arab civilization is so inferior to what it was a thousand years ago.

        • bv

I never thought of it that way. Which countries in particular Mauritania, Saudi Arabia?? Which one?

          • JohnEngelman

Several months ago there was an article on American Renaissance about the infusion of Negro genes into the Arab genome.

In the long run miscegenation has beneficial evolutionary effects, as the mating between Neanderthals and Cro Magnons did. The good genes stay in the genome. The bad genes are gradually excluded.

In the short run miscegenation between a superior race and an inferior race lowers the fitness of the superior race.

          • hastings88

In the short run miscegenation between a superior race and an inferior race lowers the fitness of the superior race.

Miscegenation with blacks lowers the fitness of whites forever.

          • JohnEngelman

Of their 22,000 genes there are some worth having.

          • hastings88

That one gene isn’t worth the 19,999 crappy ones, especially the alleles for low intelligence.

  • dd121

I spent much of the day defending Giuliani on CBS Discus. The main argument of the lefties was: what difference does it make if Obama is a Muslim? Well he does guide foreign policy and direct military action in the Muslim regions. That’s why it matters!

  • Luca

Liberals won’t be happy until all Whites have been indoctrinated to tolerate the butchering beast with a knife at their throats. Then they will say we should sharpen the knife for them.

    • LHathaway

      That’s how it goes, already.

  • David Ashton

What about faiths that do not accept others?

    • Spikeygrrl

      Is there any other kind?

“My Imaginary Sky Daddy’s way or the highway!”

      • David Ashton

That is one of the nonsense positions, particularly of ignorant liberals. The Qur’an v Jews, Christians & Pagans, the NT v Jews & Pagans, the Talmud v Christians & Pagans.

Another nonsense is “hatred” of “immigrants”. Some immigrants may be criminals, some may be assets. But deliberate transformation of a nation into a “hodgepodge” on the back of immigration is a crime and a folly, and if a President were responsible he would be a traitor who deserves impeachment, conviction and a far from unusual punishment.

  • superlloyd

And not a word on the numerous Islamic terrorist acts, special pleading and intolerance towards the whole Western proposition from that traitor Obola.

What is essential to stopping terrorism in the West is the exclusion of all muslim fifth columnists from the West and not this spurious, namby pamby apology for Islamic jihadism. The sentiments Obongo highlights have arisen mainly due to Islamic contempt, abuse and violence towards the ever accommodating West and the arrogant, dismembering of Western countries by self serving, corrupt, traitorous political elites who refuse to listen to their peoples’ common sense on the issue of non-White immigration.

  • IstvanIN

Why doesn’t he mention all the mayhem Muslims cause in black Africa? Why doesn’t he mention all the discrimination and genocide against the White minorities in Africa? And quite frankly he should not use “our countries” when referring to any country in Europe or founded and built by Europeans. He is a usurper and NOT one of us.

  • H. Leonskoi

Obama: The pot calling the kettle black. Obama, his preacher, his buddy Al Sharpton, and his unjust pal Eric Holder are constant spewers of anti-white hatred and anti-white treasonous actions. Obama is a type of Nazi and ought to shut his mouth.

  • H. Leonskoi

Islam is the philosophical and religious embodiment of totalitarianism and tyranny. Islam is embraced by low IQ homonids.

    • Spikeygrrl

      Religious + Totalitarian = REDUNDANT

  • H. Leonskoi

Obama is the most hateful, criminal, treasonous “president” we have ever suffered in our Republic.

    • TomIron361

I must disagree with the treasonous part. lbj wins that one with his part in the USS Liberty sneak attack by Israel.

    • bv

Can’t wait until he’s gone and I never want to see or hear from him or any if the social justice crowd again. I always thought Carter was horrible, but this guy makes Jimmy look wonderful in comparison.

      • Spikeygrrl

I should have read yours before I posted mine.

    • Spikeygrrl

And we thought Jimmeh the Peanut and Slick “what the meaning of ‘is’ is” Willie were as bad as American Presidents could get…!

As it says on my favorite t-shirt: “I Miss the Gipper”

  • H. Leonskoi

Obama ought to know what a terrorist narrative is, he is a terrorist. Obama forced the military to stand down and allow our American personnel and citizens to be brutalized and killed at Benghazi. Then he had several flag level officers arrested for their attempts to aid our people. Obama has armed Al Qaeda and ISIS terrorists in Libya and Syria. Obama’s crimes are immense. How that dirty son of a gun has the audacity to show his face in public and make these proclamations is beyond comprehension.

  • H. Leonskoi

Yes, and acceptance will protect you from a mafia protection racket. If the Americans had only been more open-minded, the mafia wouldn’t have bothered them.

  • Hammerheart

“The president also said stability requires democratic governments and
that oppressing groups upon sectarian lines fuels the hatred that
    creates terrorism.”

Democratic stability, just like in Africa, Libya, Tunesia, Syria, Iraq, Egypt, Afghanistan…

  • Whirlwinder

Now we see why Obammy replaced the term Islamic terrorism with violent extremism. One can use the term violent extremism to describe any action by anybody. He is a tool of those who want America destroyed.

    • Spikeygrrl

He is not a tool of them, he is ONE OF THEM.

Oh, absolutely he is being used by his intellectual superiors…but it is with his full and consensual agreement. They play all the instruments, write all the songs, and book all the tours; all Soetoro has to do is groove on being the frontman.

    “when dissent is silenced”

Brought to you by the one who declares certain words are not to be used.

  • Spikeygrrl

Again, the excruciatingly elaborate language which results from Soetoro’s ironclad refusal to use the words “Islam/Muslim” and “terrorism” in the same sentence.

WTF is he smoking, and where can I get some? It just might help putting him out of my misery…or me out of his…

  • Alan Martin

leftists will coddle ANY and all people and social interests that hold HATE towards white western societies.

they arent the least bit interested in “combating” extermism… they ARE extremists, they look for extremists, they subsist off them.. extremists are whom the left can farm for VOTES.

its the pesky little detail of terrorist violence that liberal propagandists are worried about, thats the “combat” involving pr going into overdrive towards making sure people stay stupid to it all.

the hate is just fine, the social blight and strife is just fine, the underlying criminal violence (good old regular crime/rape etc) towards western societies is otherwise just fine. its ALL acceptable so long as these people VOTE for the left, VOTE for the people who are serving non-white interests.

islamic hate? feminist hate? gay hate? non-white hate?

why thats all crazy talk… dont you dare look at the people who gather under that liberal umbrella for who they actually are. its those of us to who dissent that are the problem.

  • hastings88

“we’ve also seen, most recently in Europe, arise inexcusable acts of
anti-Semitism, or in some cases anti-Muslim sentiment, or anti-immigrant

No mention of the violent acts against the indigenous Europeans–the real French and Danish and British. No mention that the immigrants are committing the anti-Semitic acts. Of course, he won’t mention that because whites might get the idea of throwing the muslimes out–and the Africans, too, while they’re at it.

Meanwhile, muslime terror has become a pretext for suppressing freedom of speech for Europeans, so that they cannot criticize immigrant invaders or their governments’ immigration policies. What a world. Europeans need to rise up against their governments and deport all non-Europeans. These are their homelands.
