Indians are suddenly everywhere in America, from cities like Dallas to lonely motels and gas stations throughout rural America. And unlike other groups, they can’t seem even to go through the pretense of pretending their presence is good for us or will lead to a better country. Instead, crude ethnic triumphalism and insults characterize the Indian approach. There might be a bright side to this: It is so stupid and over-the-top that it makes the reality of racial and ethnic competition clear to even the most naïve white American.
