Pastor Defends Church Sign Calling Minority Trump Supporters ‘Ignorant’

Controversial church marquee messages are nothing new to Pastor Michael Jordan.
Back in 2019, his New Era Baptist sign read, “A white vote for Trump is pure racism.”
“I want to get a message to African-Americans and poor Whites that we have a very serious election coming up,” Jordan said.
The Rev. Michael R. Jordan, pastor of New Era Baptist Church in Birmingham for 32 years, loves to provoke people using the church sign that faces onto Cotton Avenue west of downtown.
His latest sign attacks former President Donald Trump.

That’s why he decided to post new eye-catching mottos outside his house of worship before next Tuesday.

We asked Jordan if he was worried at all that by using words like “ignorant stupid negro” on his sign, he may offend people that may want to come to his church.
