Border Arrests Plummet Again as Trump Administration Proclaims ‘Unprecedented Achievement’

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced on Oct. 8 that the number of “enforcement actions” decreased in September for the fourth straight month, and were down 64 percent since their peak in May, 2019.

For September, total CBP encounters along the SW border were 52,546. This is a decrease for the fourth straight month and represents a 64% decrease since the peak in May.
