Joseph Alcoff, 36, of Washington, D.C., faces charges including aggravated assault, ethnic intimidation, and conspiracy from the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, the third man charged in relation to the attack on U.S. Marines Alejandro Godinez and Luis Torres.

The Marines testified in December that approximately 10 to 12 activists counter-protesting a right-wing We the People rally allegedly confronted them and called them “Nazis” and “white supremacists.” Despite the assurances of the Marines, who were not in uniform, that they were not part of the rally and that they were Hispanic, the group of counter-protesters kicked them and insulted them.

Shortly after the attack, Tom Keenan and Thomas Massey, both 33, were arrested and were released on bail as they await a trial. But as Torres was reading news stories about the attack, he discovered an article in the Daily Caller that linked Keenan and Alcoff, Philadelphia Magazine reported.

The article included a photo of Alcoff, and Torres recognized Alcoff as one of his attackers. {snip} The investigators concurred that Alcoff was depicted in the photos.

Alcoff is said to have been an organizer of Smash Racism DC — the same group that demonstrated in front of Daily Caller News Foundation co-founder Tucker Carlson’s home. {snip}
