NAACP Requires Photo I.D. to See Holder Speak in State Being Sued over Voter ID

Katie Pavlic, Townhall, July 10, 2012

Earlier today, Attorney General Eric Holder addressed the NAACP Nation Convention at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. What did media need in order to attend? That’s right, government issued photo identification (and a second form of identification too!), something both Holder and the NAACP stand firmly against when it comes to voting. Holder’s DOJ is currently suing Texas for “discriminatory” voter ID laws. {snip}

Ironically, NAACP President Ben Jealous railed against voter ID just before Holder took the stage.

The head of the NAACP on Monday likened the group’s fight against conservative-backed voter ID laws that have been passed in several states to the great civil rights battles of the 1960s.

Benjamin Todd Jealous, the CEO and president of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, said these are “Selma and Montgomery times,” referring to historic Alabama civil rights confrontations. He challenged those attending the NAACP’s annual convention to redouble their efforts to get out the vote in November.

“We must overwhelm the rising tide of voting suppression with the high tide of registration and mobilization and motivation and protection,” he said.

“Simply put, the NAACP will never stand by as any state tries to encode discrimination into law,” Jealous said.

    The NAACP doesn’t do irony.

Or intellectual honesty, integrity, moderation, self-criticism and a few other things I can’t be bothered to think of right now.

    • You need an IQ over 90 to be able to do those.

    • The NAACP doesn’t do medical science or statistics either.

    • Rocky Bass,

I can’t escape the feeling that this next election is like kinda for “all the marbles”. Just like in Africa, one man, one vote, one time.

Edit add; And who could ever overlook the great philanthropist deeds of the sub 80 IQ crowd, I am sure they are monumental.

I fear this will be the last election that has a chance of being reasonably legal and not  stolen by those who have no right to vote, and are hostile to the traditional values of America.  If they prevail, we will be looking at a whole new paradigm, of that I have no doubt.

You make a mistake if you think it is about logic. You can have an argument, cite evidence, and even sometimes get a concession out of a liberal (even a black one). But the next day the slate is wiped clean, and they behave as if your previous conversation never took place. You may think this is a deficit, a bug in the liberal mind. But what looks like a bug is actually a feature, not just any feature, but the prime one, central to their philosophy. The bottom line, as Eric Holder knows (or Julian Assange, for that matter) is that fraud was a large component of the democrat strategy in 2008. Now that Obama has violated the law and betrayed the states, there will be even more fraud. They want to put those newly minted, undocumented democrats to good use, and no pesky little flaw like logic is going to stop them.

Totally batshit crazy…these Negroes are. Sorry mod…..but it’s the truth. Totally nuts, inconsistent and mentally challenged psychopaths.

  • Typical liberal hypocrisy. I never cease to marvel at the brazen effrontery of black politicians — and at the ability of the mainstream media to avert its eyes in embarrassment and not call them on it.

I’m guessing only WHITE media, or other-than-white  media not fully vetted as reliably socialist had to show I.D.  They have no real concept of right and wrong;  only What They Want is relevant to them.

  • Take all of the meanest and probably the most corrupt of all blacks and there you have the NAACP.
