Protestors Oppose Appointment of Police Commander in Englewood

WGN TV, February 5, 2012

Protestors gathered outside the Englewood District police station Saturday angry over the appointment of a new police commander.

The group was upset with Mayor Emanuel and Superintendent Garry McCarthy because the new commander, Leo Schmitz, is white.

Schmitz has been a police officer for 26 years and served as the commander of the 8th district and the gang enforcement division.

The group says an African American commander would better serve their district, which covers one of the most crime-ridden areas of the city.

  • Supernintendo Gerry McCarthy hired him, so he really must not be any good.  Remember this?

  • Oil Can Harry

Would they really be better served by a black commander?

Look how Detroit’s black police force is contributing to the city’s demise.

Black leaders never represent anything very well.  But blacks have to cry about something.

I myself wouldn’t care , if whites were allowed to do the same thing.  But ofcourse,  “that be raciss”.

I have no problem with blacks looking after blacks. But whites are always pulled into it somehow.  Whites get the blame when the blacks act up. Whites also have to foot the bill. And invariably it spills over into white areas.  Whites cannot be left alone.  Whites want  to be left alone. It is the minorities who follow us and take over our cities. Whites move, and then blacks will follow. It’s an ongoing cycle.

If whites are so racist, why follow us?

But yeah, I have no problem with blacks looking after their own chaos that they cause.

  • I agree.  The black radicals in Englewood will blame Schmitz for any and everything that goes wrong there.  He’ll never have an easy peaceful day on the job.  For any white man, this job is a tar baby.
