The White Man’s Library: Devil’s Night
Paul Kersey and Sam Dickson, American Renaissance, October 30, 2026
Just in time for Halloween, Paul Kersey and Sam Dickson discuss Ze’ev Chafets’ “Devil’s Night and Other True Tales of Detroit.” Chafets’ book is the definitive account of the strange annual tradition that erupted in Detroit once the city became majority black: the yearly orgy of arson set on Halloween Eve. In the 1980s, hundreds of fires were set every year to burn houses and abandoned buildings across a city Chafets described in places as “blacker than Nairobi.”
