After several deadly Islamic terrorist attacks in France, President Emmanuel Macron made clear that his government won’t be intimidated and will continue to support secularism and free speech. President Macron also suggested Islam needs an “Enlightenment.” Meanwhile, police have raided the homes of “radicalized individuals” and shut down one Mosque. Jean Castex, the Prime Minister, said, “Other actions will follow . . . [against] networks and individuals who are attacking our basic values and the Republican ideal.”
The Muslim world is furious. The former Prime Minister of Malaysia said, “Muslims have a right to be angry and to kill millions of French people for the massacres of the past.” A guard at the French consulate in Saudi Arabia was stabbed, and massive anti-French protests are spreading across Asia.
