Fairfax County ‘Prosecutor’ Protects Criminal Illegal Immigrants From Consequences

Zachary Faria, Washington Examiner, May 7, 2026

The Justice Department has opened a civil rights investigation into the office of Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano. Descano is one of the most prolific pro-criminal “prosecutors” in the country, but he has a particular affinity for criminal illegal immigrants. Earlier this year, a Virginia woman was murdered by an illegal immigrant from Sierra Leone, who had been arrested on charges of 40 different crimes over the year, including violent crimes. Descano refused to ever try and keep that man in prison, leaving him free on the street to stab the woman to death at a bus stop.

Descano has created a two-tiered justice system, where Americans can and will face tougher penalties than illegal immigrants when charged with the same crime. The Justice Department will be looking to determine whether or not Descano is violating federal laws that bar discrimination based on, among other things, national origin. {snip}
