Bill O’Reilly Tears into David Duke

Luke Brinker, Salon, January 6, 2015

Last night, Fox News host Bill O’Reilly brought former Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard David Duke onto “The O’Reilly Factor” to weigh in on the controversy surrounding House Majority Whip Steve Scalise’s 2002 appearance before Duke’s European-American Unity and Rights Organization (EURO). A shouting match ensued, with O’Reilly tearing into Duke’s “garbage” and ridiculing the notion that Duke is not “trying to promote the cause of white people.”

“I’m not a white supremacist at all,” Duke told O’Reilly. “In fact, the European-American Unity and Rights Organization was a charted civil rights organization,” he added, asserting that his work against affirmative action as a Louisiana legislator was part of his battle against “racial discrimination.”

“Don’t sit there and tell me you’re not a white–that your organization isn’t looking out for the white, European race,” O’Reilly protested later in the segment. {snip}

{snip}

Bringing the segment back to Duke’s racism, O’Reilly later said, “Mr. Duke, don’t sit here and tell me you’re not trying to promote the cause of white people, ’cause you are. The problem with this garbage–on both sides–is that we’re all in it together and skin color doesn’t matter.”

Bill O’Reilly has come under the spell of Leftist Nuns of the Roman Catholic Church.
He knows full well there is a European heritage.
He may not like being an overbearing Irish low-life, but facts are sometimes terribly inconvenient.
Bill gets more Liberal by the day.

    • propagandaoftruth

He’s too used to the money and fawning to endanger it.

I was so right to had him when I was a libtard. Some things have not changed…

      • Whitetrashgang

Did he not get caught playing with something or other.

      • Bill O’Reilly is all over the place on opinions. I can’t think of a single issue on which he has stated at least three different opinions. How he has had the top show on weeknight talking head TV for quite a long time, I have no idea.

        • Realist

          It’s 3 or 4 million out of 320 million.

          • Still, it’s the top rated weeknight political talk show. Like I just responded to you that the right way to look at turnout to public protests is comparing it to other public protests, the right way to think of Bill O’Reilly’s ratings is comparing it to other similar shows on cable, and when that’s the standard, he’s on top. Still, I don’t even see how he gets the 3-4 million that he gets.

          • Ron Cheaters

He’s a goof, why invite someone on your show just to talk over him. Its so glaringly obvious he’s just a bag-lapper.

        • anony

          Low IQ/low information voters.

    • phorning

One night on his show, O’Reilly mentioned in passing he had considered doing a book in his “Killing” series on Martin Luther King, but decided not to write it. Imagine the reaction on the left if he wrote the book and told the truth.

      • DonReynolds

Yeah…..Bill needs to stuck to doing books on the killing of old white guys, especially the ones with their likeness on the money. His liberal friends would stop inviting him to be a guest on their shows.

      • je suis paganisme

The New Testament scholar, Robert M. Price, in his book “Killing History” showed that Old Reilly is a hack historian, and that any critical skills that he (Old Reilly) had, were held in check by his Catholicism.

O’Reilly is probably mentally haunted by a grim-faced nun with a ruler, ready to whack and shame him.

        • TCA

          vous etres fous.

          • je suis paganisme

            Qu’est-ce que vous voulez dire?

            “Vous êtes fou”?

            If so, oui!

As the Apostle Paul said in his letter to the Ethical Pagans and Righteous Jews:

“Brethren, I would be ashamed to live in these present evil days, and not be crazy!”

To which they replied, in their Letter to Paul from the Ethical Pagans and Righteous Jews, “Even so!”

      • Realist

        O’Reilly doesn’t write those books.

    • RMThoughts

Bill has become a hack and a buffoon. He was neither fair, and mentally, unbalanced.

      • propagandaoftruth

Change the tense of “has become” and you have a perfect statement.

        • RMThoughts

Can you conceive of a person so dishonest as to say European culture and civilization don’t exist, rather the great figures are just people from different countries. Not even Al Sharpton would stoop so low.

    • Xerxes22

O’Reilly is just another opportunist shill like Hannity and all of the others on Fox. This is the guy who had lunch with Al Sharpton at a restaurant in Harlem. They probably compared notes about how to con the suckers. How can anyone watch any of these clowns on TV and actually take them seriously? If they had anything useful to say, they wouldn’t be allowed on TV in the first place.

      • Bon, From the Land of Babble

O’Reilly calls Sharpton a “Friend of the Factor”

      • Greek

My father, and many of those like him (whites baby boomer age and older) watch this stuff all day. I guess there isn’t much else for them on cable television. After I read this comment I walked by his TV, and unsurprisingly saw Fox News covering the protests in France. Also I should add, that he likes to think of me a racist bigot. Some good could possibly come out of older whites seeing these clowns presenting the anti-white hatred unfolding in front of them on TV.

    • adplatt126

There’s only one option for Bill’s opinion on race. If he had a rational opinion on it, he wouldn’t be employed doing what he’s doing. He either believes it and is so selected, or says it because he’ll be unselected if he says otherwise. Nothing to see here.

    • IBWHITE

O’Reilly with his idiotic statement “The problem with this garbage–on both sides–is that we’re all in it together and skin color doesn’t matter.”
That kind of attitude is the exact reason we’re in this sorry situation today.

      • MarcB1969

He knows it’s really a zero-sum game between competing peoples, but his job it to push the color-blind narrative to his gullible audience.

    • LHathaway

I think his is a conservative position. A position born of 50 years of retreat, desperately denying one is not a ‘racist’.

      • DonReynolds

        I think you are correct.
Bill probably thinks of himself as a conservative, having given away all the other territory to anyone who wanted it, he is left now on a spit of sand in the middle of an ocean full of sharks. He thinks if he smiles and says bad things about other conservatives, the sharks will leave him alone.
I wish I could be there when it happens.

        • LHathaway

yet, we will have to punch our way out of this surrounded corner. Break out from the surrounded and ever narrowing circle of wagons, and ride on into a more glorious (if less spacious) living space. What leader is yet great enough to accomplish this o-great feat?

          • DonReynolds

In the early colonial days, the pioneers relied on what is called the “trembling defense” of forts, blockhouses, caves, what have you. Places where pioneer families could collect for mutual defense against hostile forces…..whether they be French, Spanish, or American Indian.
In middle Tennessee, where I am more familiar, the pioneers built a fort every nine miles, because it was reasoned that a man on a horse could gallop the full distance between forts and reasonably expect to arrive safely.
In time, pioneer leaders….such as Washington, and later Jackson….showed how the best way to defend against credible threats was to form up and take the offensive against the enemy. Burn their settlements and slaughter their people and destroy any crops they may have planted. That worked and the trembling defense of hiding in forts pretty much died out, except for frontier forts the cavalry used out west during the Indian wars.

    • TCA

All of them, OReilly, Hannity, Limbaugh, Levin, etc. are really just liberals in slow motion.

    • GovSlacker

O’Reilly has always been a Leftist. He did go to Harvard you know. But Bill knows the middle class and their senstivities and from time to time he defends them. But push comes to shove and he will back Obama just like any other Leftist. He is an entertainer who courts the average person – only because that is where the ratings are, and Bill is all about ratings. When he goes head to head with Stewart, its because he seeking popularity. He and John Stewart vote for the same folks.

    • Realist

Bill knows nothing. He is a piece of crap.

    • gemjunior

He is one of the most disgusting people I’ve ever laid eyes on, and David Duke should have got in his face and said “You are 100% right about me promoting the causes of white people because nobody else will and that is exactly what I’m doing.” How would that have hurt Duke to just say it straight out??

      • DonReynolds

You and I would do that. I have on many occasions. But I do not think David Duke is that kind of guy. He knows he is right and he does not feel the need to prove it to anyone. He just gets busy creating a way for similar people to get together and communicate. That is what he has always done.

Yes, he had a good chance to get in O’Reilly’s face a bit AND HE MAY HAVE. You may already know these interviews are often scripted and there is a producer watching every single move, ready to cut off the cameras and do a retake. We also do not know what conditions were put on David Duke before the interview. (I am just surprised O’Reilly did not insist that David wear rags and chains during the interview.) That is also why these things are never live but pre-recorded.

  • anony

O’Reilly is such a shill for the Establishment! He says whatever enhances his job security. In addition, he’s pretty much a dull blade. He’s boring.

  • Luca

I saw this interview. O’Reilly was on the attack but Duke handled it all wrong.

After this, O’Reilly should go work for MSNBC and Duke should take a course in handling aggressive journalists.

    Fair and balanced indeed. Not.

    • Tim_in_Indiana

I’m not sure Duke handled it so badly. There’s a limit to what you can do when you keep getting interrupted. And he did get a plug in for his new book there at the beginning…

      • Ludwig

I have always disliked O’Reilly. Not only because he is a Neoconservative shill, but anytime he can’t debate facts he constantly interrupts his guests.

        • DD-762

What’s with his schtick about addressing fellow Fox journalists by their last name during discussions? Is that supposed to make him look tough? What a buffoon!

    • phorning

I thought Duke’s focus was more on complaining about media double standards. He doesn’t like that he is always referred to as a former KKK member, while it is rarely mentioned that Nelson Mandela was a communist. Of course he is correct, but all O’Reilly wanted to talk about was Scalise speaking to the group.

      • LHathaway

lol, Duke may see himself as Mandela! I always thought I might be the White Mandela (when the old man goes, who knows what the kids will do). Someone will be the White Mandela.

  • pcmustgo

No, it’s that too many Conservatives I meet want to talk about everything BUT race. Abortion, “The Constitution” , etc. Many don’t think “race is a big deal” and “race doesn’t matter”. Most claim to have Black Conservative friends, completely unaware of how rare Black Conservative (Exception to the Rule) people are among Blacks. To really know Blacks and other races, you must have experienced them in large numbers to know what they are like ON AVERAGE. Most whites lives in white bubble worlds, without even realizing it, even in diverse cities. There’s that one Black guy at their corporate job who seems like a nice guy, the asian person they are somewhat friends with, etc. And most whites don’t give a care about other white people, only themselves. In fact, they many are competitive little a- holes who just can’t wait to tear into another white person and “get ahead” in the social game. Whites’ individualism will doom them. Until you’re victimized yourself repeatedly for being white. It takes many, many times to break that brainwashing too. Most whites do not understand “Race” the way we do. But I’m the one laughing at those ex-friends, “Conservatives” who told me to “stop talking about race”. Funny, now there’s Ferguson and all this. Maybe they’ll wake up now. Some whites I know don’t like reverse-racism but stop short at “stereo-typing”, saying it’s wrong, not realizing many stereotypes are often true.

    • Conrad

And, most stereotypes are anti white. It will be a long time before whites wake up, they haven’t suffered enough yet.

      • LHathaway

Their suffering balances out by the pain inflicted for being ‘racist’.

    • Daniel

There is a lot of social science research showing that in a multicultural setting playing the individualist strategy is doomed to failure.

      • Reynardine

Well I can imagine why, but do you have a link to the studies?

      • The whole irony is that individualism and collectivism actually need each other. Awhile back, someone who has a YouTube channel asked in a video: If everyone else in the world was like you, would the world be a better or worse place than it already is? At first, I thought that if everyone was like me, the world would be a perpetual snark contest. Then I had to walk myself back and remember what Austrian physicist Wolfgang Pauli said to Albert Einstein when they discussed what the universe would be like if it had only one object. Pauli said that there would be no such thing as mass and no such thing as time, because both mass and time depend on the interaction of two or more objects. From that, we also know there would be no such thing as motion or velocity.

People only have personalities because there are other people with other personalities to which one can compare and contrast one’s own. If there was only one personality, there would be no such thing as personality.

Likewise, you can’t have individualism without the group.

    • Sick of it

You live in a part of the country filled with whites (and white liberals). Conservatives around here aren’t exactly fawning over blacks.

    • shawnmer

Re: black conservative friends, they are roughly limited to the number who actually vote Republican. Many blacks will identify as “conservative, ” but all that usually means is they’re employed, attend church and don’t go for the black tendencies of hypersexuality. It does not mean they reject black tribalism or collectivist govt.

Actually had one old black military friend tell me about all the rich diversity of opinion among blacks, then in the next breath tell me that the miserable single digit percentages of them who vote GOP is too many! No thinking black person of any kind could possibly agree with being Republican, he insisted. The cognitive dissonance totally lost on him, obviously.

      • LHathaway

Saying two contradictory things, at the same time (if both advance your own interests). I’m searching for a definition for that. . .

        • TCA

          I can think of one.

    • benvad

How long did it take you to self realize. I actually to move to a country and become a minority to as we would say “wake up”.

  • Jaggers

I’m not sure what the point of the “interview” was. As soon as Duke started to respond to O’Reilly’s question, Bill says, “we don’t have time.” It was like a parody of cable news shallowness.

    • Lion’s Mane

In an honest interview, time is courteously provided for the guest to make his point. In our corrupt and hostile national media, what we just saw hardly qualifies as an ‘interview.’ It was a uncivilized shouting match in which the host, who was at fault, tried angrily to drown out the voice of the invited interviewee. The level of hostility directed at Mr. Duke is scandalous.

Here’s the simple test: How would O’Reilly do if he tried to have this kind of combative ‘conversation’ with the patrons in his favorite local pub?

  • Frank_DeScushin

“The problem with this garbage–on both sides–is that we’re all in it together and skin color doesn’t matter.”

Skin color matters in college applications, hiring and contract preferences, and which groups are allowed to assemble and promote their cause. It’s amazing how skin color instantly doesn’t matter when whites push back against skin color being the major determinant in other groups getting legal and social benefits withheld from whites.

    • Greg Thomas

That’s right. Does skin color matter to La Raza, the NAACP, the hispanic caucus, asian caucus, the black caucus? Are these groups concerned with skin color? We could go on and on with the anti-White minority groups that legislate based upon what is in their best racial interests, but when Whites try to form a group, we are demonized as “racists, and KKK members. “Funny how that works.

Whites have plummeted from 90% of the population in the 1960’s to something like 70%, If this type of displacement were occurring within the beloved community of diversity, there would be hell to pay,

      • shawnmer

Sadly your 70% is high. We’re down to something like 65%.

        • Greg Thomas

          Of course you are right,

        • Albert

And falling with every new immigrant that illegally crosses the border.

        • 3G4Me

Actually, I think “official” government statistics show that “non-Hispanic whites” are officially 59% of the population. The government includes, among that 59%, those Latinos who self-declare/identify as “White” (a lot of whom are NOT White and would not be considered White by any European), a lot of Arabs (Iranians, Syrians, etc.), and Jews. If you subtract those, we are at MOST perhaps 55% of the US population . . . and dropping fast.

    • benvad

I think you’re the person I know of whose ever stated that before. Thank you.

  • MekongDelta69

The problem with this garbage–on both sides–is that we’re all in it together and skin color doesn’t matter.”

I’ve got news for you O’Really me boy. Skin color – and more importantly – what’s underneath the skin color – mainly IQ and culture – matter very much.

    • Reynardine

Once you divorce the notion that race == skin color, the rest of the pieces fall together.

  • Robert Binion

O’Reilly can trace his ancestry all the way back to Blowhardia.

    • Whitetrashgang

So that’s where Madonna went, always wondered.

    • Katherine McChesney

      He’s also a bully.

  • ye ol’ swampyankee

O’reilly is a hypocrite in this regard. The guy grew up in Levitt-town NY, which had racial covenants and zero minorities. He grew up in the tri- state northeast region where it’s still normal and “expected” for Middle class and rich Whites like himself, to live demographically separate lives, in different communities apart from blacks and browns.

It takes some nerve to bash on Duke, yet adopt total blindness to your own Apartheid- like circumstances.

C’mon O’reilly! Let me hear you say it “Well. . . I’ve got nothing against them, they don’t bother me”

He’s a fine example of the racial paradox/ hypocrisy which is so well entrenched among many Whites in NY, NJ and the New England states.

  • In his follow-up show, 0’reilly tries to equate Duke with Sharpton.
Bill’s dishonesty is really embarrassing. Another phony moral coward.

    • benvad

As Rabbi Meir Kahane would say “They’re frauds, they’re all frauds”.

  • guest

“O’Reilly insists there’s no such thing as “European heritage.”

Bill O’Reilly has just labeled himself an enemy to all White Europeans everywhere. For that reason, no White person should ever watch and listen to Bill O’Reilly ever again after listening to his anti-White European filth. Like all other liberal Whites in the MSM, he is a sellout who will vilify and degrade White people just to secure his job and make himself look good the anti-Whites who run the media and the fools who watch him and believe everything he says without question.

  • Mary

Bloviator Bill likely only invited Duke on his show to publicly eviscerate his views. Bill’s elite peers disapprove of his recent forays into the black crime problem, and he wishes to distance himself from those distasteful charges of pro-White sympathies. So skin color doesn’t matter? Then just drop the black crime coverage and let’s just pretend we’re all the same. Easier to do with Bill’s multi millions.

    • benvad

The working white man’s champion, n’est pas?

  • DailyKenn

Shall we consider O’Reilly a Klanster because he invited Duke to speak on his show?

    • anony

No, he used Duke to regain some credibility with the black American community because he has shown the courage to point out the black crime rate, etc.

O’Reilly does what he has to do to enhance his status with the establishment elites.

      • MekongDelta69

O’Really does what he has to do, to keep his ratings up and make more money.

        Period…

    • DonReynolds

I think he is really worse. After all…..O”Reilly did most of the talking (as usual) and it probably constituted a SPEECH, if you sewed it together with string. And certainly, David Duke was actually there…..not like the Scalise offense, which David Duke probably missed. Besides, the Scalise offense was by TELEPHONE, whereas O’Reilly was actually with David Duke in person. But who knows who else was in the room at the time?

  • Truthseeker

Even when I was a more mainstream conservative, I never cared for Bill O’Reilly. He just toes the establishment line and doesn’t offer any new ideas. He’s a perfect example of a so-called “conservative” who would’ve been considered a liberal just 40-50 years ago. In the end, he’s a useless media opportunist just like every other pundit.

  • dd121

People who think O’Reilly is a conservative are quite mistaken. He is mainly a Catholic populist. I can’t stand to watch is pompous condescending “interviews”.

    • cherrie greenbaum123

He looks like an alcoholic, similar to his Irish buddy, Boehner.

      • DaveMed

I don’t see how insulting Irish people is particularly helpful.

        • cherrie greenbaum123

Merely making an observation. I am of Irish heritage. Denying that the Irish have historically been disproportionately cursed with alcoholism is the same as denying the genetic intelligence inferiority of blacks. If one is a race realist, one must be prepared to cut both ways.

          • TCA

And Boehner is such a scumbag…..

          • 3G4Me

This. Accepting race-realism and HBD means accepting it in all situations that it applies – otherwise one is the equivalent of the “Tea Partiers” demonstrating against welfare while chanting “Hands off MY Social Security.” Utter hypocrisy.

Anecdote – my husband is half Irish, and my late father-in-law HATED going to church because growing up, he was forced to go every week and thence to the pub afterwards, where his mother and her siblings proceeded to get drunk. There are certain genetic tendencies. That said, I love the Irish!

        • DonReynolds

I have found that the Irish (like myself) are a wee bit more honest about their own shortcomings than a good many people. The difference, of course, is that the Irish do not see their shortcomings as a problem……and certainly nothing for YOU to be worried about.

        • LHathaway

They’re both white people so no one will care. They will think it’s funny. This statement by Ms. Greenbaum will likely endear us to the unconverted.

      • Xerxes22

        Boehner is three quarters German.

        • anony

          What’s the fourth quarter, coward?

    • Lion’s Mane

Today’s self-styled ‘conservatives’ spit in the faces of their ancestors, while accusing liberals of doing the same thing. It’s the pot calling the kettle black.

  • robinbishop34

“Mr. Duke, don’t sit here and tell me you’re not trying to promote the cause of white people, ’cause you are.”

What’s wrong with that? People have been conditioned to think that whites promoting the cause of whites is somehow evil yet the straightforward and unapologetic tribalism of all non-white groups is not only tolerated, it is celebrated. Duke should of tried to pin him down on that.

    • benvad

He’s being filibustered by O’Reilly and that’s all there it is to it.

      • libertarian1234

        You’re absolutely right.

No matter who the interviewer is on Fox he will talk non-stop, lecture, berate and make certain the white supporter can’t have his views aired, whether it is Duke or someone else, yet these same interviewers sit there and let a non-white being interviewed expand on what amounts to hate speech, and most of what they say is nonsense.

They stifle the speech of pro-whites for fear that they will gain a substantial amount of supporters, because, like David Duke, most of what they say makes sense.

        • benvad

He’s better than nothing but he’s still nothing.

    • Bill Moore

      Hello robinbishop34,

That comment, “Mr. Duke, don’t sit here and tell me you’re not trying to promote the cause of white people, ’cause you are.”, is the crux of the problem.

The insinuation is that Caucasians promoting the cause of Caucasians is somehow improper.

Keep your guns handy, we’re going to need them,
      Bill Moore

  • Jeff Traube

Bill O’Reilly is pompous establishment and bullying during interview, but still a step in the right direction from MSM as he supports NY cops, mentions black crime/Judge Laura Johnson – and conceded the Left painted Duke with “Klan” etc. but not Byrd, Mandela. Duke came across better on CNN interview.

  • Anon Emus

If everyone wants to be a hyphenated american, then that should work both ways, right?

  • Reynardine

    Thank you very much!

  • ye ol’ swampyankee

O’Reilly is indicative of what exists up there. He’ll ridicule the south for it’s past slavery and then segregation, but has no emotional conflicts with blacks and browns concentrated in the cities up north. Separated to a great degree from whites who who overwhelmingly occupy suburbs and small towns.

With Billy, southern segregation was bad but northern Apartheid is (still) good!

  • Bon, From the Land of Babble

O’Reilly came off as the smug, holier-than-thou jerk that he is – talking over David Duke, cutting him off, rolling his eyes, etc.

Loved the part about pointing out the hypocrisy of HIM (David Duke) always being labeled as a K member but the msm overlooking Robert Byrd’s long membership. He even had a graphic with Obama’s quote about Byrd at Byrd’s funeral: “He was a Senate icon, he was a party leader, he was an elder statesman, and he was my friend,”

David Duke had to talk fast and was obviously in hostile territory, but he did a good job.

  • IstvanIN

I have despised that blow hard, who can afford to insulate his wife and kids from the undertow, for many years.

  • I support White people.

I’m really no fan of David Duke, but he’d be more likely to be invited to my home than would anyone even remotely like the shill O’Reilly.

  • Evette Coutier

    O’Reilly is a fool.

  • Ella

O’Reilly said, “…….we’re all in it together and skin color doesn’t matter,” but it matters to every ethnic lobbyist group to pursuay foreign policies, benefits and immigration issues!

  • ViktorNN

Duke was caught off guard when O’Reilly said that “European Heritage” doesn’t mean anything, and he really shouldn’t have been given how much experience he has with the media.

The right answer was to say that it doesn’t matter whether O’Reilly thinks “European Heritage” exists.

He is free to be a deracinated, history-less and heritage-less American drone if he wants – but with that freedom comes the freedom to assert that yes we do exist, yes our heritage does matter to us, and as long as we say so and there are enough of us to speak up and say so, then it doesn’t matter what O’Reilly thinks.

  • Lion’s Mane

Unbelievable! O’Reilly says he doesn’t know what European Heritage is! What would happen to his employment status if he declared that he was clueless as to what Jewish Heritage is? And O’Reilly also knows that the Chinese never had a culture or civilization of their own either! Everything magically appeared in 1776 when the U.S. was declared a new country!

  • IKUredux

Bill O’Reilly is a faux conservative on faux news. Fox News is Truth Lite. He espouses the concept that soil has a magical component. Anyone who moves onto a certain soil, is magically transformed into a cultural representative of that soil. Therefore, no matter the background of an individual, and, no matter that they are equal, they will be magically transformed into the people they have moved into. Well, if they are equal, why should they be transformed? Exactly. It makes no sense. Nothing the left says makes any sense.

  • Americaandthewestshouldbewhite

Bill O’Reilly used to be for WHite American, now he has gone batty and has joined the left.

  • Anthony Merlino

O’Reilly is a class-A clown… Shame on Dr. Duke for appearing on this clown’s silly show.

By the way… It funny how Fox’s ratings are dropping dramatically, as the truth sites’ [such as Amren and the DailyStormer] are RISING.

Go to hell O’reilly… Or israel. Whichever you prefer, just GO!!!!!!!!!!

  • Dave West

What a confusing man. Sometimes I think Bill O might be an Amren reader and other times I think he sounds like a whiny leftist professor.

    • LackawannaErie

O’Reilly is a dog whistler — he makes coded appeals to white consciousness for ratings and then advocates anti-white policies. Dog whistling is the foundation of the modern Republican party and Fox-style conservatives.

Unfortunately, many naive racially conscious whites interpret O’Reilly type dog whistling as secret sympathy for Amren-like positions.

  • LHathaway

“The problem with this garbage–on both sides–is that we’re all in it together and skin color doesn’t matter”
So, there are black journalist, firefighter and janitor associations, black TV stations and a black newspaper, in every larger size city in the US, and there have been for perhaps a Century. Three popular magazines by and for blacks. Blacks raised from birth knowing nothing but getting in touch with their special blackness (at least if they are exposed to nearly any black author or video program). Black colleges (and nearly every other learning center seemingly dedicated to diversity, with black departments, courses and black student unions with perhaps nearly a hundred racial associations affiliated with a large campus) and pro-black consciousness raising in most textbooks of all kinds. Hispanics and Asians are not far behind in ‘giving back’ and ‘raising awareness’. Targeted head start and affirmative action into and during stints of higher learning and affirmative action all throughout the career path. But none of these for Whites. And it fact, whites apologize for institutional racism. Whites are stigmatized if they don’t recognize ‘white privilege’ or endorse this kind of viewpoint with an appropriate enthusiasm. The powers that be have decided that any more racial activism would be just too much, and in fact would be ugly racism. But they’re just too busy to end any of those other things. At best someone (some loose cannon) might inquire a word or two about them on a blue moon night.

  • OhWow

“You are trying to look out for white people”

Uh…yeah? Is there a problem? That’s what I would have said.

It’s only racist when whites look out for each other.

    • david dorian

      Yeah, is there a problem??

Are you anti-white??? Then address the issues.

    • LHathaway

yeah, who was the winner in this? And who is the evil puppet of. . them? Duke denied he was White. If anyone else had done this they’d be receiving the full AmRen treatment. But not Duke, apparently. If the issue is which one was the most conservative, it’s still in doubt which one of the two ‘betrayed’ us more. Duke’s reputation precedes him, however.

  • Michael Mason

“we’re all in it together and skin color doesn’t matter” really bill? Like you would truly want to live in a black neighborhood or have mulatto grandchildren. You wrote a book glorifying General Patton but I guess you overlooked the fact that a multi-racial society like this would make Patton vomit.

  • Albert

And so what if he is “trying to promote the cause of white people.” Every other race, creed or national is permitted this and encouraged to do so. Clubs for such special interests abound on college campuses. The only interest that suffers from institutional discrimination is white.

  • david dorian

O’Reilly is disgusting, beyond useless. A charlatan and an opportunist.

    Duke is off message. Why???

    Very questionable.

    • Guest

A giant reverse psychology exercise. Hell, liberals tuning in were likely shocked, they are more racially concerned than both of these two put together. Wonder how many takes the interview took? At a couple of points the actors almost seemed amused by themselves.

O’Reilly did have him on the show, slightly strange one that it was. .

  • Michael Mason

Duke acts like he needs mainstream approval. Come on, Duke. You of all people in the Far
Right should know. Don’t play by the rule book that was designed and re-edited a hundred times by the very enemies of our people. Just come out and say that blacks and whites can’t live together because we evolved separately and our genetics are irreversibly different. Just say something like that and see how the old fool responds. Don’t claim to be an equality warrior like all the people who we’ve all come to loathe.

  • Bill

I’m an European-American. So what? We have our pride, and we should have our own advocates, too, just like all other races in America. To deny us this is discriminatory.
I generally like O’Reilly, but this time he’s wrong.

  • Pat

I’ve always pegged O’ Reilly as a sociopath. He’d wave ANY flag, ( capitalist, communist etc) as long as it was beneficial to him. O’Reilly has probably CREATED more liberals than anyone else, no way could any 20 yr old go along with this guy. FOX is a joke. Their pro-Zionist, pro-immigration and anti-white.

  • LackawannaErie

Remember that O’Reilly’s audience are elderly, conservative whites.

  • I watched this last night via another site, and I thought David Duke did a great job of presenting himself. O’Reilly was just full of bluster and clichés, whilst David Duke generally commanded the answers, put over a more coherent bigger picture.

I thought his use of holding up images of both his book and the photographs of Mandela (and the other former KKK member) was a good use of time in a slot where he would never have otherwise got to explain those points.

As they say, a picture paints a thousand words, and he managed to not only show the hypocrisy clearly but managed to advertise his book on the mainstream media for free. No wonder they refuse to give him air time or allow him to properly speak like they would with other interviewees. Duke did and would further run rings around this phony.

O’Reilly reminds me of the Richard LittleJohn and John Gaunt types in this country. They make a living dancing around the edges of issues, but when anybody acts to do something, they stab them in the back – or when they risk being labelled, they throw others under the bus to make themselves look better, whilst pushing the liberal lines.

They are just safety valves and diversion/distraction makers.

    • DD-762

I’m running out of options on Fox News Network.

      • anony

There are much better options especially for international news; try RT or even ccnews.

        • DonReynolds

I spent most of 2010 in (what used to be East) Germany and there was no FoxNews on tv and it was blocked by the government on the internet. The same was true of the Fox affiliate broadcasts from the UK, called SkyNews.

In fact, the only English-language broadcast of the news I ever found in Germany was RT….which is the Russia Today channel. They will gladly broadcast even the most obscure news about the US, as long as that news is negative. Keep that in mind with RT. This is Russian propaganda……and the RT outlet in Austin……Alex Jones (InfoWars and PrisonPlanet).

          • anony

            Yep. Eyes/ears wide open.

  • John Smith

This douche pretends to be a conservative and the far-left repeats that lie, but he’s really just a statist asshole who still believes in some capitalism. FOX is a fraud.

  • De Doc

I’m anxiously awaiting the next of O’Reilly’s books to be titled, “Killing History.”

  • Snazzy Snook

I saw this episode and was sick to my stomachby Oreilly’s take on Duke ..
The funny thing is that, no matter how much Oreilly appeases the blacks and browns of the world, they still hate him and thinks HE is also a racist ..
I don’t see what is wrong with fighting for whites rights at all .. The blacks have all this stuff NAACP, BET.. I mean, I can go on and on.. Oreilly is an idiot .. It doesn’t bother him at all that in 40 years or less whites will be a minority in a country that they built for whites ..

  • Henry Horner

    As

  • Henry Horner

As usual, O’Reilly talking thru the wrong end of his anatomy!

  • MarcB1969

Mainstream media types go after Dr. Duke because of his critique of Jewish power and influence in the Western World, not because of what he advocates.

  • B.E.L.

I saw that episode of O-reilly. What a bummer it ended like that because in the beginning of the show, Bill spent 15 minutes calling out blacks and telling it like it is.

  • Alucard_the_last

Opera, fine art, classical music, philosophy, cutting edge medicine and science, creators of the world’s great architecture, feeders of the world yet we have no ‘heritage’. If we don’t have it, how much LESS than those of non-white heritage esp. blacks.

  • Dear Mr. O’Reilly. Try out “forced perspective” in drawing. That’s just one, as I am uninterested in writing a book today. Slam it and ram it, Bill.

  • maxsnafu

Looks like Bill hates David Duke more than he loves the West.

  • corvinus

Looks like Duke won that encounter. Salon is wrong.

  • IBWHITE

I agree O’Reilly comes closer than most in discussing racial reality but my issue is this – the man has enough money to last him several lifetimes so why not come out swinging for his kinfolk instead of towing the line. If O’Reilly went bare knuckles on racial issues he could pull a large segment of Whites over to our cause. He’s a smart guy and has to know what kind of hell is in store for our people just a few years away. Yet he parrots the typical brain dead neocon BS.

  • David Ashton

Reductio ad Dukerum. There is a European Heritage, whatever the KKK or the CPUSA or O’Reilly might think one way or another. And it is not garbage to be thrown away or incinerated.

    • Ron Cheaters

He invites people on his show so he can publicly lambaste them. And he shouts over his guests. Mr. Duke doesn’t look so good these days. I mean that health-wise.

      • DonReynolds

David is getting old like the rest of us. I first met him in April 1980….so that has been almost 35 years ago. Neither one of us had gray hair in those days. Ha Ha.

  • fool me once fool me twice

For the moment I don’t have FOX so I missed this one . But I saw David Duke on O’Reilly several years back . O’Reilly wouldn’t let the man speak . Doesn’t seem fair and balanced to me .

I haven’t had a lot of use for O’Reilly since the deal about separate proms in Taylor County Ga . The school was about 50/50 back then .The white prom was paid for with private funds . O’Reilly, as could have been predicted, sided with the minorities . It’s too bad the high schools in Levittown, New York didn’t have Brown vs Board rammed down their throats while O’Reilly was attending . It would’ve changed his whole perspective on things .

I don’t know a lot about David Duke , but I think I would probably value his opinion more than I do O’Reilly’s .

  • E. Newton

I’ll take a controversial stance here. If you watch this guy and believe he has something to say that is meaningful to the issues you understand, then you are, by the modern “urban” phrase, cray cray.

  • Transpower

David Duke is very anti-Jewish. European civilization is Judeo-Christian; therefore, he would get a lot more traction if he were anti-Muslim.

    • DonReynolds

I am sure you are correct. David Duke would be much more popular and respected if he were anti-Muslim. He would probably be more wealthy too. But I do not think he is doing it for the popularity or the money. I think he is sincere.

  • gah

O’Reilly has a long history of launching rather insane attacks on white people. Some years ago he spent an entire week harping about separate high school proms in a rural county in Georgia. He was absolutely livid, demanding that the governor intervene and prohibit separate proms, and any other attempt by white people to separate themselves from blacks. So, I wasn’t surprised to hear him deny that there is such a thing as European heritage. I would be very much surprised if he were to tell a black that there is no such thing as African heritage, or a Mexican that there is no such thing as Mexican heritage. He reserves his vitriolic attacks for anything associated with whites. It should be remembered that O’Reilly used to have Sharpton on his show on a regular basis, and always called him Reverend. But, I’m willing to bet that O’Reilly lives in an overwhelmingly white neighborhood, and has never associated with any average blacks.

    • DonReynolds

There are two kinds of Irishman in this country, and you may already know this. Those Irish who came here in the colonial times were Protestants, also known as Scot-Irish, mostly Scottish (and English and Welsh) settlers who lived in Ireland a few generations. These are some of the founding stock of this country, sometimes called WASPs. Many of them settled in the Southern colonies and moved west. They tend to be conservative. Later they were the core of the Continental army and the Confederate army. Nowadays, they are simply called Southerners and they have a major presence in the military. (Where else can you get grits for breakfast?)

The other kind of Irishman, such as the likes of O’Reilly, came to this country during and after the Potato Famine. These are primarily Roman Catholic and they landed not in the South, but in the Northeastern port cities, where they still live. They tend to be politically liberal. They served with distinction in the Union army during the civil war and have a reputation for being brave men. But the two kinds of Irishmen do not get along very well, not even in the home country. The troubles between Catholic and Protestant in Northern Ireland (and elsewhere) are not over and may never be.

  • Waljoy

Believe me, the nuns weren’t leftist in the days Bill O’Reilly and I went to Catholic schools (1950’s and early 60’s). Any negative influences on Bill or myself did not come from them, trust me on this !

  • Musashi5000

Bill O’Reilly is a loudmouth imbecile and an establishment mouthpiece…..nothing more.
