17,500 Germans Gather to Sing Christmas Carols Against Islamization

Oliver Lane, Breitbart, December 23, 2014

The German PEGIDA movement held its largest meeting yet last night to protest what they call the ‘Islamisation of the Western World’, despite stiff opposition from all sections of Germany’s elite including politicians, media, and the arts.

PEGIDA (Patriotic Europeans Against Islamisation of the West) has grown rapidly since its inception in October, a peaceful ‘strolling’ movement opposing the exceptional violence seen in street battles between Salafist Muslims and ethnic Kurds seen in many German cities this year and enormous immigration. Now on it’s tenth ‘evening stroll’, it has grown from a couple of hundred people, to 15,000 last week, to more than 17,500 last night.

In addition to the hundreds of banners with slogans such as ‘Against Hatred, Violence, and the Quran’, ‘Against Religious Fanaticism’, and ‘No Sharia in Europe’, the thousands attending brought song sheets which had been distributed online and sang favourite Christmas carols.

{snip}

Chancellor Merkel has suggested the leadership of PEGIDA have an ulterior motive, despite their focus on non-violent protest and apolitical principles. She even went as far to warn people thinking of going on the weekly stroll to “watch out that they are not instrumentalised by the organisers”. The SPD, Germany’s Labour-party equivalent have gone as far as calling PEGIDA “Nazis in pinstripes”.

This is despite a report by the German police that there are significantly more known troublemakers in the counter-protest movements, than in PEGIDA itself.

God Bless these Western Civilization patriots !

Yes. It’s time for all people of European descent to join. I don’t care where you live or what you believe.

      • Singingbird1

Western Europe, not eastern Europe.Eastern Europens should stick to their own impoverished hell holes.

    • Greg Thomas

Yes. These treasonous “leaders” are terrified the masses might actually wake up and rise against the poison called multiculturalism and diversity being peddled by the political elite. To slander these patriotic Germans by calling them, “Nazis in pinstripes” proves they will disparage the native German people in favor of muslim invaders. Merkel actually warned Germans by saying “watch out that they are not instrumentalised by the organisers”. Has this woman lost her mind! I can only pray they’re “instrumentalised.”

They will do everything the can to ridicule and discourage other Germans from joining the fight against this invasion. We have the same problem in this country, with mexican illegals and other third world refuge this government is allowing to pour in.

  • Garrett Brown

I think we’ve got a movement here boys and girls! Take back Deutscheland! Take back your country!

    • Sick of it

They’re not aggressive enough. Other groups might.

      • Garrett Brown

        It’s a start at least.

  • D.B. Cooper

Okay. That’s fine and dandy. Now do something tangible and empirical, like removing those do-nothing politicians you keep electing!
Yeah, it’s an uphill battle. I just found out today that I got banned from Huffington Post for (ahem) “controversial comments”.

    • LHathaway

I left for there if anyone remembers. I said I would. I lasted 2 days, and I’m the politically correct AmRener, or so I think. I did turn it up a bit on there, maybe. I’m not a happy camper. Now anger is censured.

There was no reason given for my ban.

      • antiquesunlight

What sort of things were you writing? Just curious.

        • LHathaway

I did say the words ignorant feminist pig a lot. I don’t think I called another chatter ignorant feminist pig, but I did call a congresswoman who was in the news over there that. It could have been something else.

I must say, for those not old enough to remember, with a slight change, ignorant feminist pig is phrase of the left’s own invention. If it was more than A-OK for them to use the phrase. . . . The slight change I made, the word I added to the phrase, is the perfect descriptor, in my opinion.

Years and years of confronting the leftists themselves are not working. The liberals who hide behind an organization, like the SPLC, need to be directly sent to the unemployment line.
Have you ever noticed that the actual people are never referred to by name, just by organization, as if it had an actual voice or opinion?
Perhaps you enjoy the slow death? Watch each controversial shooting death of a black male on TV, which will only become more frequent.

    • mael

Don’t feel bad. They do the same thing here. Especially when it involves those that cannot be named.

    • Speedy Steve

Piffle! I got banned from Takimag and Podblanc — the latter is Craig Cobb’s old site.

    • Olorin

      Congrats, D.B.!!

I was banned from HuffPo for questioning other commenters’ science on genetics regarding race and sex. I didn’t even use the terms science or race…just noted that humans didn’t stop evolving 50,000 years ago, and also stood firm on the distribution of IQ between males and females and what that meant in terms of the chance that any particular woman would have, say, a 130+ IQ [2 SD above the mean or higher].

In other words, simple arithmetic, not even complicated population genetics or biology.

Also was banned at various times from commenting at Daily Kos (twice), Democratic Underground (twice), Common Dreams (twice), AlterNet, Tom Paine, The Progressive, and ZNet.

Which is amazing, because that was years ago, when I still had some progressive viewpoint and was asking people to answer talking points that would allow me to retain that. Mostly around wages, employment policy, and energy policy. I’ve always been “conservative” on things like immigration, absolute separation of church and state, taxation, government spending, and RKBA.

It’s more companionable, thoughtful, intelligent, and good spirited here under the bus than it ever was riding it. I suspect more and more people are coming to more reality-based thinking, based on the freedom to ask questions whose implications are not politically correct. This is why the Dems and progs have to keep importing more low-IQ voters and creating ever more sensational and religio-nonsensical ritual sacrifice-flavored events to rally around.

  • IstvanIN

By protesting peacefully they will attract more and more followers until, hopefully, they reach the critical mass to make meaningful changes.

    Fantastic!

  • The SPD, Germany’s Labour-party equivalent have gone as far as calling PEGIDA “Nazis in pinstripes”.

Doubt that. Real Nazis would be complaining about another kind of Semite.

I’m rooting for PEGIDA, but trying to soft sell nationalism with this kind of universalist schmaltz troubles me.

Keep an eye out for a 22 year old Austrian named Markus Willinger. He’s highly intelligent and seems to be a natural leader.

A genuine ground swell from the people has got the out of touch “intelligentsia” so rattled that they are resorting to smear and scare tactics. Their criticisms betray their hysteria. Hahaha.

    • Publius Pompilius Quietus

These protest may have a positive psychological effect, too. Such protests show reality that one isn’t alone in such beliefs, especially in Germany, a nation which has been taught to hate itself for over half a century. Answering this, all the elite can do is snicker and name-call, showing the system’s nature as a paper tiger.

    • Olorin

Exactly. For a long time the Access Class of academe and media commanded street theatre as their particular genre. Now that otherwise quiet people are taking to the streets to signal their belonging to a larger opinion base, the Access Class doesn’t know how to react. It’s only supposed to be themselves and their pets appearing on the streets in such numbers. So all they can do is scream NAZI RACiST TEABAGGER NAZI RACISTS!

  • DaveMed

Certainly nothing wrong with rekindling national identity with tradition.

While it’s not as simple as Muslims vs. others (i.e., Europe should not import non-Muslim Arabs or Africans), taking the Christianity vs. Islam tack is a great start.

    • phorning

Muslims should be the focus. They are the only group moving into countries around the world with a convert or die mentality.

      • DaveMed

I agree. Muslims are the biggest problem.

        • JSS

If it weren’t Muslims then it would be Sikhs Hindus and African “Christians”. The biggest problem is that Europe is governed in the interest of a group that isn’t European.

          • See The Future

The anti-white government and the media is the biggest problem.

          • mael

The jew is the problem. All the others pale in comparison. What cries the loudest for gun control… What bankrolled the naacp…. What owns the media…..What pushes for diversity…… What owns the FED…. What is the Sampson option…. What censures our posts…. I could go on and on.

        • Garrett Brown

I think the bigger problem is who’s letting them in.

      • JSS

Muslims don’t write immigration policy, they are a symptom of a much bigger problem.

        • DaveMed

Actually, at ~24% of the global population, Muslims are the biggest problem.

          • JSS

How so? They exist in our countries at our leisure. If we mustered the will we could have them expelled fairly soon.

Or do you think they will stop killing each other in their own countries and unite and launch a Muslim red dawn through Europe and the states? You think ISIS and Iran will unite to conquer the West? They hate each other more then us. It’s only the ones that are admitted to our countries that can threaten us. Deport them and close the borders and they won’t be a problem anymore.

          • DaveMed

First of all, Muslims understand that the most effective war to wage in the 21st century is that of demographics. When you have a global majority, a certain portion of that majority will manage to slither into other countries if there is no fierce resistance.

Next, you’re dreaming if you think that there will be any sort of mass expulsion of Muslims from Western countries (at least, those that are currently in existence). The world is softer than in was in centuries past, and the vast majority of people simply will not stand for that kind of action. I wish things were different, but they are not.

The best we can realistically hope for is a rise in intense anti-Muslim sentiments in Western countries, leading to a certain degree of “deportation through attrition.”

          • See The Future

Deportation and expulsion can only happen after several countries in Europe fall.

          • JSS

The only reason Muslims are winning any demographic war in the West is because our overlords pay them to breed. That’s it. They have no “strategy” other then use welfare shekels to breed while living in subsidized housing.

It’s funny you mention there can be no expulsion. Another certain group is so mortified of pogroms and expulsion that they panic at any hint of White solidarity. I think their paranoia is justified. But in a way I agree that there need not be any mass expulsion. If we stop paying them to breed and simply make there lives miserable in general I think most will self deport.

          • Cheri Rodriguez

Define “Western.” Does this include Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and Venezuela? There are few Muslims in those countries. If the few thousand there ever did get out of hand, it’s a sure bet that the local drug gangs (and police) would eliminate 20 or 30 at a time in some very nasty ways to send a message.

          • DaveMed

I was thinking of America, Canada, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. Maybe a couple of others, but you get the gist.

          • Spikeygrrl

            i.e., “the Anglosphere.”

          • Cheri Rodriguez

Lots of Italians and Croatians in Chile; lots of Germans in Argentina (97% of the population is of European descent). Even if they aren’t officially part of the “Anglosphere”, you’d be way safer there than in Syria, Pakistan or Detroit.

        • Jaggers

Hmmm, I’m going to guess by your avatar whom that problem might be…

  • Pathfinder75

The feel-good story of the Christmas holiday.

  • Jaggers

I’m not fully understanding this “Nazis in pinstripes” thing. Are these protesters better dressed than the Nazis were in the ’30s, when pretty much everyone was more dressy? It would almost make more sense to say “Nazis without pinstripes.”

    • dd121

The leftist always go on the attack of whites who try to establish a white European identity by lumping them in with Nazis. Don’t fall for it.

      • Jaggers

Oh, I’d be marching with them, don’t get me wrong. I’m just saying the Nazis didn’t cut a shabby appearance style-wise, especially compared to the modern Westerner. The whole “Nazis with pinstripes” thing suggests that these protesters are somehow more formally dressed, when it’s the exact opposite. Just an ironic point, not really that important.

        • DaveMed

Well, neo-Nazis tend to be pretty unimpressive when it comes to fashion sense.

          • Jaggers

I totally agree, neo-nazis need to up their game fashion wise.

    • evilsandmich

Thanks I didn’t catch that. Along the lines of the “Asian” led white female slavery in England: if opposing such things makes me a Nazi, then I suppose that makes me one. Though as they say, the first one to cite Hitler/Nazis in support of their argument, as the left constantly does, automatically loses.

The ministers here are the largest cheer leaders of diversity around.

I’ll visit churches only to see pews of grey hair watching their grand daughters snuggle up to black boys. Anytime they voice displeasure the preacher will say that we are all God’s children. Take their offerings to fund the bus ministry to bring in more.

My great awakening came in 2010 when I did some work for the Census Bureau. Since I’m bilingual, they put me in a church owned house where they routinely placed immigrants from around the Third World into our community. I helped them fill out their Census forms. The Church gets many kickbacks from the State and don’t for one second think the Catholics are the only ones in on it.

These demonstrations really seem to have captured the popular mood and spirit – in precisely the same way that all political revolutions start from mass protests encapsulating popular discontent.
We can only hope that the momentum is captured and channelled into a proper political vehicle that actually has a parliamentary voice and holds politicians’ feet to the fire.
What Germany desperately needs is its own UKIP.

  • KenelmDigby

The irony is that if German ‘reunification’ had never occurred 25 years ago, and East Germany had remained communist, then Dresden would almost certainly not have been flooded with the third world riff raff, and would have remained ethnically German forever.
German reunification was a real double sword. On balance, I would argue that a Marxist regime is preferable to the race destruction that inevitably follows massive third immigration. Political theory is only political theory. Genes last forever.
On that note, one must be very concerned about the former eastern bloc nations which the EU is intent on imposing third workers upon.
My guess is that will inevitably succumb in the near future.

The evening went to h3ll when one of the folks said something like “Not all German folk songs are nazi, some predate nazis,” then talked about how he loved playing the Siegfried’s horn on his trumpet as a kid. At which point everybody turned on him and called him a nazi. If we view this as a sort of Veblenesque Conspicuous Consumption, this all makes more sense. I.e., they out-compete each other to demonstrate who is the most libby proggy.

      • PvtCharlieSlate

        That is a fascinating story.

What do you think your liberal folks would do if they heard ” Heil Dir Im Siegerkranz”? Would they proclaim that, obviously, it is just “My Country ’tis of Thee” sung in German?

Wait for the bishops to tell us that Jesus was a homeless refugee, &c.

Wait for the red atheist gangs to attack these protesters and for the authorities to take their side against freedom of speech and assembly. Read the “Acts of the Apostles” for an early account of this collusion.

Jesus was a refugee. He just wasn’t in it for the welfare benefits. He and His family built their own house. Plus He went home.

The best lies start with the truth.

      • Not even a refugee. More like imperial subjects. Joe and Mary hoofed it to Bethlehem to participate in the Roman census, so that the empire knew who there was to collect taxes from (direct capitation), and how much they could expect to collect.

Matthew 2:14 When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt:
Matthew 2:15 And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.
Matthew 2:16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men.
Matthew 2:17 Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying,

You made a great post. Jared Taylor described it as life lived within a mental straight jacket. I’m truly sorry I don’t have the full quote by Taylor (which was him being (at least this part) fairly quoted in a main stream publication. They weren’t really fair to him overall, but at a few points in the articles they allowed Mr. Taylor to make persuasive oratory).

This line you use is interesting.

“replacing family and genuine community feeling with worship of the collective is the point of it”

You frighten me there, because the worship of the collective interests me more and more as I get older. . . . But from a more practical standpoint it would seem they want us to worship an anti-white frame of reference? I would go further than you. I would say they attempt to stifle our feelings. (Depending who you are in our society) it would seem they would prefer you have no feelings, or a disconnection with them. It’s not just censoring speech (maybe that’s what it was about years ago).

She was lost and did not even reciprocate. I smiled and said goodbye. When somebody gives me happy holidays or seasons greetings nonsense, I say that means nothing to me. It’s Merry Christmas. Always has been, always will be.

Bless the Germans this time. Islam is a criminal religion and a bizarre death cult. To be ethically valid, a religion must teach the Golden Rule and the non-initiation of force, theft, and fraud. Islam does neither. What we need to do is to quarantine the Muslim world and refuse to trade with them until such time as they go through an Age of Enlightenment.

Thought I would respond to your post again.
“worship of the collective is the point of it”
That might not be such a bad thing. Is that a bad thing? That may be the point of it, I don’t know, but it sure seems as though it is enforced through fear. The majority knuckle under to it because they are afraid. Oh, the smarter ones can come up with good rationalizations for why they have knuckled under to their fear but at the heart of it, for the vast, vast majority, they are simply submitting to fear. It is ironic that the ‘smartest’ nations in the world do this to themselves, for in the end naked fear of the men of color around them will be what rules them. Political correctness could be seen as a surrogate for this, if it is not Already the reason for political correctness itself.
It could be argued this conditioning creates a ‘conscience’ in people and is a good thing. Even that ‘political correctness’ is in actuality a conservative ideology. I might argues it’s about treating people completely differently. White (men) must be watched, legislated against, constrained, educated about; everyone else is a noble and pristine creature free from sin and blame. lol, there was a song about that, ‘Saints in Hell’ lol.
