Two Teens Killed, 24 Others Wounded Across Chicago

Two teenagers were killed and 24 others were wounded across Chicago Saturday night through Sunday morning.

Police said 15 of the victims were affiliated with gangs.

The youngest victim was 17 years old. He died after being shot along with a cousin as the two went to meet a girl in the West Woodlawn neighborhood on the South Side Saturday night, according to family.

The man’s cousin was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. His condition was not available. {snip}

About 4:30 a.m. Sunday, an 18-year-old man was fatally shot in the chest on the 5300 block of South Calumet Avenue, officials said. {snip}

Jamiere Brown, of the 7300 block of South St. Louis was pronounced dead at 5 a.m. at Stroger Hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Police said he was shot in a dice game, and police said Brown and the others were members of a gang.

The two teens were the fourth and fifth persons killed since Friday night. The others were a 73-year-old man sitting on a stoop with a frienda 34-year-old man getting ready to celebrate his brother’s birthday, and a 20-year-old woman in a “domestic” incident.
