Jason Arday: The Magic Negro Becomes the Magic Martyr

As always, whites are the biggest fools.

Jason Arday. After years of being coddled and petted by white people, his years of lying finally caught up with him. He resigned as professor of Cambridge on August 5th and was found dead nine days later, just last Friday.

He was one of the most specular phonies ever to get a DEI job. He is the perfect example of the “magic Negro,” that imaginary creature liberals yearn for so desperately that they will believe the most obvious nonsense if they think they have finally found one. He has also become the perfect martyr for blacks, who are so blinded by race that they delude themselves almost as much as the craziest white people.
Lets’ start with this, from three years ago, when the coddling was going full tilt. That was his story: couldn’t speak until age 11 or write until 18, and look at me now, the youngest black professor ever appointed to Cambridge. He had been claiming that for years, but finally someone tracked down grade school classmates who say he could talk just fine. He claimed it had taken “hundreds of thousands of hours” of speech therapy. Just one hundred thousand, eight hours a day, five days a week—would be nearly 48 years.
I guess Arday wasn’t good with numbers. He claimed that he ran 600 miles in six days, and 30 marathons in 35 days, with the last nine on a broken leg that had, in his words “ballooned to twice its size.” He says he toughed it out with ice baths and pain killers.
He claimed all this running was to raise money for charity — £5-1/2 million no less — for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices and other causes, but later said the money was raised by a syndicate of 100 people whom he couldn’t name because of a non-disclosure agreement.

He said he helped build clean water projects in South America and Africa for the charity WaterAid. He didn’t.

He said he was on the British documentary series “Seven Up.” He wasn’t.

He claimed he had published a book called Being Young, Black and Male: Challenging the Dominant Discourse. He hadn’t. He claimed to hold visiting professorships at Ohio State University and the University of Glasgow and an honorary professorship at Durham University. Alas, no.
Even the dreadlocks long enough to sit on were not his own hair.

But Cambridge had to have its magic Negro. When it advertised for the job, it said it especially wanted “women, those with a Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) background and those with disabilities.”

It also said a commitment to DEI was essential for the job.
Cambridge was so proud of its new hire, it invited the BBC to come cover Arday’s first day on the job. This utter fraud had the gall to ask his new boss, Hilary Cremin, what Cambridge was going to do to make sure appointments like his would be “the norm” and not “tokenistic.” And listen to her answer. “We’re so lucky to have you. You’re the best in the world.”
Best in the world? I guess she never bothered to read his stuff. Here’s one of his very few papers: “Attempting to break the chain: reimaging inclusive pedagogy and decolonising the curriculum within the academy.” Note the warning in red: “This article is currently under investigation.”

That’s because nearly everything he ever wrote was plagiarized or incredibly sloppy — or both.
His so-called research was nothing more than talking to non-white people he knew at universities about how tough it was being around all those awful white people. It wasn’t even good journalism, much less research.
Arday and Cambridge quickly got inquiries about his bad work. Jack Grove, a reporter for Times Higher Education, sent him polite messages about plagiarism and other inconsistencies.

Arday called the police on him. He also hired Carter-Ruck, a law firm known for threatening journalists who might write unflattering articles. Its letter said this was “a campaign of harassment,” against Arday, and ended by warning about “racially motivated targeting of black academics” and Jack Grove better “exercise caution.” Times Higher Education spiked the story.
David Harris, another academic, independently approached Arday with questions.

Arday called the police on him, too.
About this time, he started making more wild claims. He said that twice, he had been accosted at his Cambridge office by a masked man, who told him to resign from his post. The second time, the masked man threatened him with a knife. Somehow, Arday, who was so quick to call the police on people asking about his work, never reported the knifeman, either to the cops or to his colleagues. He also claimed someone sent a pig’s head to his parents’ home. No evidence for that, either.
The Telegraph reported that Arday, who was supposed to supervise master’s degree students on their work, was useless. He made up crazy excuses not to spend time with them, and told them they were so good they needed no guidance from him — and then gave them bad grades.
What finally broke the plagiarism story was a Substack article by American academic Nathan Cofnas. He posted dozens of paragraphs Arday had lifted bodily from other papers or had very lightly paraphrased.

Other media then also found brazen plagiarism. Cambridge clung desperately to its magic Negro, claiming that Arday was a “victim of a vile campaign to undermine his credibility.”
What appears to have been the last straw for Cambridge was finally learning about the fake appointments at other universities. On August 5, it announced “an investigation following new information about Professor Arday’s academic qualifications and honorary appointments.” New information!
That day, Arday resigned from his job, and survived nine days.
He didn’t stick around to help his wife rear their two children. No, he had always taken the easy way out with plagiarism, and he took the easy way and killed himself. And his suicide had exactly the effect I’m sure he wanted. The shout has gone up: It was all racism!!
Kehinde Andrews is a black British prof who worked on a film called The Psychosis of Whiteness, and called Elizebeth II “the number one symbol of white supremacy in the entire world” — which of course makes him a darling of the Brit media. The guy says Arday was hounded out because “they” just don’t want blacks at Cambridge.
I’m sure that’s what a lot of blacks think. Students at Cambridge left bunches of flowers for him and explained “Racism did this.” Many blacks and crazed whites will simply refuse to believe that Jason Arday was a liar and a fraud.
On Monday (Aug 17), something called Stand Up to Racism organized a rally for Arday in Trafalgar Square.

Signs said “Racism within mainstream media is responsible for Jason Arday’s death.” Or “Rest in power Professor Jason Arday.” That’s what they say about “victims of racism.”

Lord Simon Woolley warned there had better “be some reckoning” after Arday’s death.

He said we better not forget about “racism, institutional responsibility, accountability and the treatment of black families and black men.” The speakers repeatedly targeted Nathan Cofnas for breaking the story about Arday’s plagiarism.
“This is the face of ‘polite’ racism.”

To which someone replied with this nice image.

Here is a poster for a Vigil at Nottingham University.

I’m sure all over Britain, “racism” is taking a real beating.
In America, Ibram Kendi, explained to us that “The Media Lynched Jason Arday.”

Why of course it did. That’s because, “To be a prominent antiracist Black scholar is to know you are a target, almost totally surrounded by resentments . . . . [T]he attacks haunt and hunt you like a lynch mob.” It’s those “racist propagandists.” He would know. There are still a few racist propagandists who refuse to recognize his genius, too.
There’s worse. Something called the Good Law Project wants a government commission set up to make sure the press behaves itself and leaves the next Jason Arday alone. The petition insists the press was guilty of “two weeks of relentless harassment” because “racism lay at the heart of this story.” It wants the government to “ensure a responsible press.” More censorship! [link] This horror already has more than 100,000 signatures. It lists about 40 prominent signers, including just about every high-profile, crazy non-white in the country.
In all of this, it’s white people who are most to blame. As Nathan Cofnas says, they refuse to accept that in a meritocracy, you might get one, maybe two blacks on the faculty at Cambridge. Maybe none. Cambridge felt so bad about having so few that it hired a complete fraud. The balloon popped right in its face and then he kills himself and becomes a martyr. Blacks prance and roar and shout “racism.”
How many mooncalf whites will hang their heads and beat their breasts and promise to be better? More and more white see them for the fools they are, but the search for the magic Negro will go on: “We’re so lucky to have you. You’re the best in the world.”
