D’Angelo Rafael Jean Caraballo and Sneider Mejia Bautista are wanted in connection with last week’s stabbing of 33-year-old Jose Mercedes in the Bronx. The detective was stabbed seven times, including in the leg and torso, police said. It appeared that the suspects tried to rob him, but he was stabbed while defending himself.

After stabbing Mercedes, the two suspects fled on an electric bike, police said and the two men remain at large, DHS officials said Tuesday. {snip}
