DOJ Ramps Up Denaturalization Lawsuits Against Immigrants

The number of denaturalization lawsuits filed by the Trump administration surged in July, according to new data.
There were 50 denaturalization lawsuits filed by the Department of Justice in July, according to Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse. That’s the most ever in recent memory.
There were 18 denaturalization cases filed in June, which migrant advocates at the time thought was a whopping number. But now it’s more than doubled.
There were only eight cases filed to strip naturalized citizens of their citizenship in all of 2025. But since January, there have been 105 denaturalization cases filed nationwide.
