The Drug Enforcement Administration initially arrested Basora-Gonzalez on June 6, 2019, and charged her in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania with attempted possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl and aiding and abetting. After pleading guilty, she was sentenced on March 12, 2020, to 12 months and one day in confinement, followed by four years of supervised release.

ICE deported Basora-Gonzalez to the Dominican Republic on October 6, 2020.

It remains unknown when she reentered the country.
