President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that Venezuela has agreed to take back undocumented immigrants who have come to the United States from the South American country, including members from the notorious Tren de Aragua gang.

Trump also said that the government in Caracas has agreed “to supply the transportation back.” {snip}

The comments come the day after Trump’s special envoy, Richard Grenell, met with Venezuelan strongman Nicolas Maduro. Another official from the Trump administration said on a call with reporters Friday that Grenell was going to convey that the U.S. expected Maduro “to take back all of the Venezuelan criminals and gang members that have been exported to the United States.” That same night, Grenell returned with six American citizens in tow on his plane who had been imprisoned in Venezuela.
