SC Man Out on Bond for Murder Now Charged with Attempted Murder

Amanda Hurley, WLTX-TV, May 8, 2019

It’s been about 5 years since this Orangeburg man was arrested for allegedly killing another man. He is now onto his second arrest for a new charge — attempted murder.

Shagura Mack, 41, is accused of shooting the friend of his former lover at her home on Autolane Street around 2 a.m. Saturday.

Orangeburg counties deputies responded to the home where the former girlfriend said Mack barged in and pointed a handgun at her. He then reportedly moved his aim to her male friend, and shot.

Following the shooting, the former girlfriend fled with her young daughter. She later told deputies her and Mack were in a relationship years ago, but recently he had been trying to force his way back into her life.

Mack was arrested days later in Richland County. At the time he was out on bond for a 2014 murder where he allegedly fired into a park car during a drug buy, killing a man.
