Linda Sarsour Blames ‘White Women’ For Georgia Heartbeat Bill

Henry Rodgers, Daily Caller, Mary 14, 2019

Women’s March leader Linda Sarsour blamed “white women” Tuesday for a Georgia “fetal heartbeat bill.”

The law will make abortion after a fetal heartbeat is detected illegal in the state, with certain exceptions.

Sarsour blamed white women for voting for Georgia Republican Gov. Brian Kemp instead of his Democratic opponent Stacey Abrams.

“While folks are debating tactics to respond to Georgia’s heartbeat bill, let’s remember that 76% of the white Women electorate in GA (more than white men) voted for Brian Kemp over Stacey Abrams,” she tweeted. “That’s where the work needs to happen. WW continue to uphold the patriarchy.”

The bill makes exceptions in cases of “rape, incest, and situations when the mother’s health is at risk,” reported CBS News, but only when the woman files a police report first.

Republican Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant signed a similar bill in late March, which will make it so women will no longer be able to have an abortion after about six weeks of pregnancy when the law takes effect on July 1. Pro-choice group Center for Reproductive Rights called it “blatantly unconstitutional” and threatened to sue the state.
