Italy Anti-Immigrant Northern League Rallies Against Renzi

James Mackenzie, Reuters, February 28, 2015

Thousands of supporters of Italy’s anti-euro Northern League filled one of the biggest squares in Rome on Saturday, accusing the government of Prime Minister Matteo Renzi of selling the country out to faceless powers in Brussels.

Italy Protest

Northern League leader Matteo Salvini, who called the rally, took aim at a series of targets, ranging from illegal immigrants and Romanian truck drivers to tax authorities, banks and big business.

“The problem isn’t Renzi, Renzi is a pawn, Renzi is a dumb slave, at the disposal of some nameless person who wants to control all our lives from Brussels,” he told the rally at the Piazza del Popolo, called just over two months ahead of regional elections in May.

Italy’s centre-right opposition has been in disarray for the past year, riven by faction-fighting and unable to mount a consistent challenge to Renzi, whose centre-left Democratic Party holds a commanding lead in opinion polls.

However, 41 year-old Salvini has overseen a resurgence of his party since taking over as leader a little over a year ago, focusing on attacking immigration and the euro in a drive to broaden its appeal beyond its base in northern Italy.

“Europe is what’s allowing our truckdrivers to be squeezed out by Romanian contracts, Romanian wages and pensions that can be used to come and work in Italy because that’s what Europe wants–a race to the bottom,” he told supporters who also heard a message of support read out from Marine Le Pen, leader of France’s far-right National Front.

With 78-year-old former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi struggling to hold his squabbling Forza Italia party together, Salvini has taken over his mantle as the highest profile leader on the right.

He is more popular than any political leader apart from Renzi himself and opinion polls show the League challenging or even surpassing Forza Italia as the largest party of the right.

”Europe wants–a race to the bottom,” That’s why it imports blacks and muslims. The bottom race and the bottom ‘religion’.

    • Cobbett

Like everywhere in the so-called West.

    • It would be good if that bottom race were peaceful and hard working. And were not out to take over the host country.

When the mayor of Venice was notified that thirty seven or so Syrians “refugees” would be arriving in his town, he and many other Venetians formed a circle around the bus the Syrians were in, to prevent them from exiting off the bus, The Mayor also suggested that his citizens be allowed to carry guns to protect themselves from “migrant” criminality…

Can you picture a Mayor with the guts to do that here..I’d send him a check today for his reelection campaign.

It is Native Born White Italians who need rescuing:

According to the Italian Ministry of Education: In 2001 to 2002, there were 196,000 foreign students in Italian schools; making about 2.2% of the total school population.

Since then, this figure has more than quadrupled in 2013-2014 to 803,000 foreign students; making them 1 in 10 of all Italian students.

Italy rescues 1,000 illegal migrants in 24 hours.

    Feb. 7, 2014:

The 14 migrants were arrested in the Italian southern region of Sicily after destroying the detention centre in the city of Ragusa where they were held.

I’m drinking so much leftist tears lately thanks to the Lega Nord that I’m getting spoiled! Salvini ftw!

    • Reynardine

Leftist tears make an excellent cocktail with some limoncello.

I imagine the leftists must be hated in Italy. I wonder what their future is. Whomever wins the culture wars, it seems as though the white leftists/ liberals are on their way out. Both traditonal whites and third worlders virulently hate white leftists/liberals.

I guess the frogs of Europe are starting to notice the water getting warmer.

  • LHathaway

They will need to vote anti-immigration No Matter What other crazy things they say they will do, aside from closing the border. No matter what. They will have to vote anti-immigration, the most anti-immigration party, No Matter Who They Are, and no one else until Every major party promises 0 immigration, and is serious about it. At which point, politics would return to normal for all issues other than immigration.

    • Sick of it

As usual, they only have one party of any significance which is anti-immigrant – In this case it’s Lega Nord. I wish we had an equivalent over here.

  • Jason Lewis

I thought Europe arrest all who speak against progressive policies under hate crime law.

    • Sick of it

I think they can say things like this in Italy, they just can’t compare a black woman to a monkey.

      • ShermanTMcCoy

        Yeah, that’s anti-simian hate speech!

    • yes, this is very serious. It seems to be worst in France where any doubt about wisdom of African mass immigration is punishable.

  • LackawannaErie

The old leaders of the LN basically sold out and supported the corrupt Berlusconi. During this time, immigration to Italy skyrocketed.

  • Light from the East

Other than this movement, Italian people should send more illegal immigrants sneaking into Europe by boats back to Africa.

    • Instead, the Italians give train tickets for the illegals to go to Germany. Which is illegal, by EU law. Refugees have to stay in the country they first landed. Unfortunately, Italy is one of the first stops for Africans and Middle Easterners. Who would want to go to bankrupt Greece.

Another Rotherham. This time in Oxfordshire.

    http[colon]//www[dot]mirror[dot]co[dot]uk/news/uk-news/oxfordshire-child-abuse-authorities-turned-5267071

    • I lived in Oxford as a 10 and 11 year-old. What a complete shame.

      • Cobbett

And I though it was just like it is in Morse. Pakistanis are everywhere these days.

  • Good for them! I used to also support a Scanian independence party in southern Sweden. Anything would be better for them than what the Sharia-apologist commies in Stockholm are doing.

  • Cobbett

This is a good sign. I don’t think Italians will take it lying down – No Empire or slavery to give them a guilt complex(Rome not included)

  • LHathaway

As the percentage of non-whites in an area go up, the percentage voting to encourage more non-white immigration into that same region will likely go up. Looking at the map, I’m somehow reminded of the Domino theory of a generation or two ago. On the plus side, if all of Europe becomes united, and votes to seal their borders, White immigration into those Nations teetering on the edge of White population collapse could be propped up.

  • AndrewInterrupted

Look how much damage white guilt has caused. Enough!

  • newscomments70

Very interesting. I wish Italians luck in their fight with the enemy. And look at Sweden…land of the beta males. I don’t understand that. I have relatives in Sweden, but I don’t think I should ever visit there. I don’t think I could contain my disgust…such a desecration.
