Obamas on Race: We’ve Been Treated Like the Help

Devin Dwyer, Yahoo! News, December 17, 2014

President and Michelle Obama personally identify with everyday experiences of racial bias in America that have underpinned recent protests across the country, they told People magazine in an interview to be released Friday.

“Barack Obama was a black man that lived on the South Side of Chicago, who had his share of troubles catching cabs,” Michelle Obama told the magazine.

On one occasion, she said, her husband “was wearing a tuxedo at a black-tie dinner, and somebody asked him to get coffee.”

President Obama said he’s even been mistakenly treated as a valet.

“There’s no black male my age, who’s a professional, who hasn’t come out of a restaurant and is waiting for their car and somebody didn’t hand them their car keys,” he said, according to excerpts of the interview released today.

The first lady also described being mistreated at a Target store in suburban Washington, during a shopping trip she took in 2011.

“Even as the first lady,” she told the magazine, “during the wonderfully publicized trip I took to Target, not highly disguised, the only person who came up to me in the store was a woman who asked me to help her take something off a shelf.”

She said the incidents are “the regular course of life” for African-Americans and a “challenge” for the country to overcome.

He’s just lucky they dragged some of his ancestors over here or else he’d now be living in a mud and stick hut instead of the white house.

    • Scott Rosen

Unless you’re asserting that Frank Davis was his real daddy, I’m not sure what you’re talking about.

      • dd121

His ancestors didn’t get here via slavery but when you scratch one they all claim it was some sort of abuse by whites.

    • Whitetrashgang

Mud and stick hut is a good name for a African restaurant, just saying.

      • Cid Campeador

Le soup de jour is Maryknoll Missionary Chowder with Croutons.

        • Michigan Patriot

That statement will make black racists ” boiling mad ” !

      • Ron Cheaters

Hey waiter.. there’s a fly in my soup!

      • Convert killer

No a good name would be diseased cave dweller!!! You recessive gene white shaved monkey. That’s why your white women don’t want a white man anymore. They come to the original man !!! Lol for real

      • gemjunior

Who ever would chance going to an African restaurant? I don’t think I’ve ever even seen one (thank God) (yet). What would they serve? Monkey and baboon? Jenkem for cognac? And of course that rare delicacy that isn’t always available, long-pig or like Cid says, “missionary soup with croutons!” LOL. Ugh, gross. Once I saw them digging into the ground with sticks for these wonderfully described for their super-refined palates – grubs. (I’m not even joking here, it was on a show about Africa and they were seen doing it on film and of course applauded for their deftness at capturing the critters.)

        • newscomments70

There are Ethiopian restaurants in Los Angeles in the Crescent Heights area. A liberal friend brought me to one, once. It was basically flat bread and sauteed ground beef, mixed with spices. It was fairly good, albeit simplistic. I didn’t get sick.

      • ElComadreja

Many of them use dung. It must smell great.

        • John R

Sir, please. I don’t even want to know….

    • Jesse_from_Sweden

      Obama’s mother is white.
His father was from Kenya or somewhere, and returned there.

Obama is the child of a 60’s hippe flower power love-is-universal coupling between a naive white girl and an african enjoying his tour of USA.

      • Realist

        “….naive white girl”
        You mean mud shark.

      • benvad

She was a self hating white who bought into the leftist Marxist pablum and had contempt for white male authority.

Just another pawn for the “world healers”, glad the karma is coming back at them in spades.

    • Realist

Or more than likely not living at all.

  • OS-Q

Wow I must be very enlightened to never trust a black person with my car keys or drinks, thanks Michelle.

    • Xerxes22

The only time you should give a Black person your car keys is when he is pointing a gun at you, an increasing possibility these days.

  • On one occasion, she said, her husband “was wearing a tuxedo at a black-tie dinner, and somebody asked him to get coffee.”

Servers at waiters at black tie affairs wear tuxes generally.

“Even as the first lady,” she told the magazine, “during the wonderfully publicized trip I took to Target, not highly disguised, the only person who came up to me in the store was a woman who asked me to help her take something off a shelf.”

About once every three times I have been in Target since I was around 18 years old, and pretty often in other stores too, someone will come up to me and ask me something as if I work there or straight up ask me if I work there because they need help with something. My canned spam snarky self-deprecating sense of humor response is that it only looks like I know what I’m doing. Really, though, it’s sort of a compliment if you stand out from a bunch of other people because you look competent and knowledgeable. Blackie O here is too dense to see it for the compliment that it is.

I don’t think I’d ever mistake Michelle Obama for a Target employee.

Note to Target employees and waiters/servers at black tie affairs — You should be happy today that Barack and Michelle Obama think they’re so much better than you that they were both insulted to have been mistaken accidentally for you.

    • phorning

It is basic courtesy to help another shopper who asks for help getting something she can’t reach. I’m surprised Michelle didn’t say, “don’t you know who I am?” It’s what John Kerry would have done.

      • Sick of it

I ask random people where things are when I’m unfamiliar with a store. The employees usually don’t know or don’t care to help.

        • John R

Yeah, because they are probably black, and think it is beneath them to ever do anything good for a white person.

      • Xerxes22

I’ll bet Michelle did that and more. She probably had a chimp out moment over it. She looks the type.

        • John R

I would never mistake Obama for a waiter. He doesn’t look smart enough to do that job.

          • antiquesunlight

He would be a pretty good McDonald’s fast food guy. “If you like your fries, you can keep them for no additional cost.”

          • Dr.Bazzi

He looks more like a men’s room attendant.

      • Alexandra1973

I would have replied, “Don’t you know who you are?”

        (Follow that with a rimshot.)

      • Who Me?

“the only person who came up to me in the store was a woman who asked me to help her take something off a shelf”
I’d be willing to bet it was Moochelle’s height not her skin color that prompted the plea for assistance. I’ve asked taller people for help in a store a time or two, and occasionally a shorter person has asked me for help. Doesn’t seem to bother anyone who ever helped me, and it’s certainly never annoyed or insulted me to be asked to hand something to a shorter person.
She may be tall in physical height, but inside, she’s a dark, little person.

        • LHathaway

I think you have to blame this one on just being dumb.

          • bilderbuster

IF that really happened to Moochelle it was a case of mistaken identity. Tall ugly Black women are a dime a dozen at most Targets. Who in the world would actually believe that the one they ask to help them get an item from a shelf that they can’t reach would really be the First Lady.

          • brior

            First squatter.

          • LexiconD1

It could have been me. The shampoo I like to buy is on a high shelf, where I can never reach it, I always ask people (employees or not) to help me get it down. I don’t care what race they are, I just want to get my shampoo.

            I’m only 5’5.

And, for that matter, I’ve been in the grocery store and older people, usually women, ask for my help getting stuff down (surprisingly, the shelves are lower in grocery stores.)

            It doesn’t mean ANYTHING.

          • bilderbuster

You’re right. It could have been anyone who couldn’t reach something and asking a taller stranger for such a minor favor so that’s why I think she just made the whole thing up.
There she is, Mizz Obama, with her posse, limos, secret service detail, the press, and a pushy White woman shopper is somehow able to approach her amid all the commotion and not only interrupt Moochelle’s photo op but mistake her for a uniformed Target employee?
I may have been born in the day, but it wasn’t yesterday.

          • mobilebay

On one of my last trips to the grocery store, I was on tiptoes trying to get an item from a shelf (I’m 5’4″) and a gentleman who was at least 6″4″ came up and said “let me help you, I live for reaching things for ladies in the supermarket.” A nice experiece for both parties. I appreciated it and he seemed to enjoy his “work.” Mrs. First Lady was probably asked because of her height – jeeze, lady, were you angry because you weren’t recognized?

        • Henry Higgins

Before I read this I posted the same thing right above. I’m 5’8″ and have had shorter women ask me to get something for them. Ya gotta love how the Obamas showcase black delusionality.

        • Michigan Patriot

Isn’t that part of the Golden Rule or especially being a follower of Our Lord Jesus, the Christ ? Ooopps ! Never mind that Christian assumption.

        • Convert killer

You sound stupid just like your illiterate ancestors!!!! Hairy cave dwellers

        • ElComadreja

I’m fairly tall and get asked for this kind of help a lot. It takes a stupid paranoid black mindset to make “racism” out of it.

      • Henry Higgins

She’s also very tall, which might explain it. If there are no tall men around, ask the tallest woman to reach something. Women often seem more approachable anyway.

    • TruthBeTold

I’m white. I have gone into stores wearing a blue shirt and khaki pants and have been asked, ‘Do you work here?’

I never thought to make an issue of it.

      • Conrad

Negroes wear their hyper-sensitive feelings on their sleeves.

        • Kenner

And they love playing ‘Gotcha, Whitey!’

          • ElComadreja

            They live for it.

      • Anna Tree

Most if not all commenters there exactly say the same, and are very annoyed of her tone, the under meaning and yet again the branding of the race card.

        Quite surprised yahoo published this.

Hey Obamas, you ARE the help!!! You are in the White House to serve us, the people!

And don’t brand the R card, I would have said the same to Bush or Clinton duh!

And by the way, all of you are terrible servers and should have been fired long ago. You don’t do what we the people want at all. I can’t wait for the time our opinions will be in power at last.

    • A Freespeechzone

Let’s see, arrogant, disinterested, ‘chip on the shoulder’—-perfect fit for a black Target employee….

      • John R

She probably couldn’t even hold a job there. Good thing for her that she got rich; she wouldn’t survive otherwise.

        • A Freespeechzone

She did have a job with a hospital in Chicago when Barack was a US Senator—she made $350K/year and literally did NOTHING.

Michelle Obama doesn’t know the meaning of work—she’s been coddled as much as Barack.

Never forget that the Obama negroes in the WH have been disrespected again and again….and have gotten their pay off; but, they will always continue to play the victims.

      • Maybe I’m just lucky that I’ve never been in a Target with very many if any black employees.

        • LexiconD1

I haven’t been either. The one that does have a lot of blacks is at the mall…Some place you’ll NEVER catch me going to. I HATE malls.

    • John R

Thank you! I was in a Target the other day, and an elderly gentleman asked me what the instruction on a package of scissors said, what they were made of, etc. I didn’t mind. I smiled and helped the old man. He seemed nice anyway. Big deal.

But, then again, I am not a black person with a chip on my shoulder and looking at every experience as an insult.

(Btw. The only person who DID get offended was one of the Target supervisors, who admonished his employees for not being available enough to the customers. Oh, well. Sorry.)

    • DaveMed

Good point in the last paragraph.

    • MikeofAges

Question diversity: But no mileage in it for you if you complain.

    • FozzieT

Any White first lady would have actually been delighted if someone came up and asked her to reach something. Even Hillary (at least publicly). They would love the fact that even though they were essentially the “queen”, the common folk didn’t treat them as such. That’s the beauty of America — we don’t have kings and queens. But blacks don’t see things that way. They have a tribal society, with a strong-man leader. And it is truly an insult to a black to be spoken to as an equal by an “inferior.”

    • IKUredux

Interesting. I just read this pretty much word for word at Countenance Blog. What’s up with that?

      • Hmm, that is a real mystery, a really hard one to solve.

When I see that blog’s author, he’s going to be mad at me and warn me from the other side of the mirror not to be cutting and pasting his stuff.

        • IKUredux

Alrighty then, mystery solved. You will notice that I did not accuse you of anything nefarious. I actually hoped for this answer. Love your blog.

    • SFLBIB

See my post above about the admiral in a formal uniform.

  • Frank_DeScushin

Since black people view everything through the prism of race and racism, they turn everyday encounters that we all experience (regardless of race) into racism. For example, take Michelle having a lady ask for her help reaching something on the top shelf at Target. Incidents like this happen to all of us numerous times in life, and in this instance likely had more to do with Michelle being tall than her being black.

Just this past weekend I was standing in Target waiting for my wife to change our baby’s diaper in the restroom. As I stood waiting, a short Hispanic man gestured that he needed my help getting something off the top shelf. I helped him. Mere moments later another Hispanic guy asked me what aisle he could find something. I told him that I didn’t work there, and that was the end of that. I didn’t feel depressed that they assumed I worked at Target, and I didn’t assume racism because they were Mestizo and I’m white. My life went on completely unchanged because I’m smart enough to know that incidents like that happen to everyone all the time.

    • TruthBeTold

These things happen to whites just like traffic stops.

The difference is that white people brush them off and laugh about them latter with friends.

Blacks see them as proof or ‘racism’.

      • John R

Correction: Not “proof of racism.” It should read: “poof uv ray-cism.”

    • Groovy

And she’s tall too. It would have been racist to not have asked for her help.

      • exlib93

I’m tall…I often get asked by people to grab something that can’t be reached. I think this is just another one of her highly irresponsible rants.

        • Reynardine

Hey, check your tallness privilege! We’re trying to create an inclusive safe-space for the vertically challenged, and you’re triggering some of us right now. Short lives matter.

(I’m not short, but it was too funny to pass up).

          • LHathaway

Good one. Mrs. Obama actually seems upset she is tall. Can we blame being completely backwards on being a leftist?

          • Henry Higgins

You know what would be funny…if the Eric Garner protests championed ‘fat positive’ or ‘size posiitve’ or whatever, when in reality Garner’s death was most caused by his obesity.

      • Who Me?

If you were in a store and saw Moochelle in the aisle, not knowing who she was, would you have asked her to hand you something? Lordy, that is one pizzed-off looking female! Her natural expression is a category 4 chimpout just waiting for a place to happen.

    • 48224

I wonder if BHO was ever mistaken for a multi-million-dollar NBA player? l

    • Nonhumans

I’m pretty tall and have had several of the short squat-monsters request that I access things on top shelves for them. I walk by without obliging. They’re already exploiting me and other white Americans for our taxes via welfare, healthcare, etc. I’ll deny them further exploitations where I am able.

  • Easyrhino

The help doesn’t get free medical care, a massive pension and Secret Service protection for life.

As far as not being able to catch a cab guess what, even black cabbies won’t pick up black fares. The question the cultural Marxists refuse to answer is why is that so?

    • John R

Yeah. But I guess the “knockout game” isn’t racist, huh?

  • antiquesunlight

I commented on this article (but on a different web site) and one of my comments was deleted because, in response to a black woman who asked why “the epidemic of white-on-white crime isn’t an issue,” I wrote, “It is a fact that black people commit crimes at a rate radically out of proportion with their numbers and that white people commit crimes at a rate lower than their population percentage.” I re-commented, saying, “My original comment was deleted because it’s considered racist to state Department of Justice statistics on black crime.”

The good news is that 99% of the comments were from peeved white people.

    • BlueSonicStreak

I left a comment too, then.

Wherever they delete factual comments about black dysfunction, we should re-comment twice over.

  • Tim_in_Indiana

      America’s biggest mistake: slavery.

America’s second biggest mistake: allowing blacks and Hispanics to vote.

America’s third biggest mistake: allowing 40% of whites to vote that, combined with 95% of the black vote and 72% of the Hispanic vote, delivered the presidency to the First-Mulatto-in-Chief.

      • Screamin_Ruffed_Grouse

        America’s biggest mistake: slavery.

America’s second biggest mistake: not deporting all of them as soon as they were freed.

America’s third biggest mistake: irrelevant, until mistake number two is rectified.

Just another fantastic service brought to you by the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy(tm)!

Just like the black criminals who use racism as an excuse for the crimes they commit, the Obamas have proven to be no different. In his two terms as president, Obama has caused severe damage to this country with his policies such as Obamacare, allowing illegal immigrants into this country, and working for the best interests of other countries at the expense of ours, but yet he feels like he’s the victim because of his skin pigmentation.

    • LHathaway

Yes, I’m far from an expert about this but it would seem some blacks who have legitimately done horrible things to whites often seem to be angriest about racism.

  • TruthBeTold

I have been mistaken for homeless and been followed around stores by security. When I tell people, we laugh about it.

When whites suffer such indignities, they laugh it off.

When they happen to blacks, it’s proof of racism.

  • B.E.L.

Oh well, too bad for them, leave please.

  • gubblerchechenova

Well, I’d rather be mistaken for a valet than mugged by some nasty black thug like so many white victims have been.

  • TruthBeTold

This speaks volumes of the Obamas’ attitude toward ‘the little people’.

Do they believe it’s so below them to be seen as ‘help’ and mere peons?

Do they believe it’s demeaning to do such work?

  • 4321realist

Blacks are so arrogant no matter how little their abilities might be they think of themselves as superior.

A study completed recently found that rather than having a low-image of themselves, blacks, in general, had a very high image, which was in contrast to the leftist claims that blacks have many pathologies due to low self-image. They think of themselves as a cut above everybody else.

This Moochelle offers much evidence of it. In China during a photo op with the P.M. and his wife she remarked to them that, “Can you believe that they (Meaning whites in America) discriminated against people like me?” As if she were an example of something great, instead of a mentally challenged AA gimmie all her life.

In her college thesis she wailed that whites treated her as if she weren’t equal to them and was there at the institution, because of her color. She was too arrogant to even consider that they were right.

And look at Obama. What but arrogance could make him think that he’s too great to be thought of as a common person, whether it’s a valet or something else when he’s unknown to everybody around him?

I’m willing to bet most whites have been thought of in the same way at one time or another, but they don’t whine about it and think it’s some kind of degradation that impugns their greatness.

If anybody has bad thoughts about blacks it’s because of the immense amount of crime and violence they commit and their lack of accomplishment. They’re just being judged on the basis of who they are really, or at least a very large percentage of them.

    • Who Me?

In China during a photo op with the P.M. and his wife she remarked to them that, “Can you believe that they (Meaning whites in America) discriminated against people like me?”
What kind of First Lady complains about her own people to the rulers of another country? That’s right up there on a par with Barry Clueless bowing to the leaders of Japan (or was it Korea?) a few years ago and a few other ignorant, classless stunts they’ve pulled. They are making a mockery of the United States and our so-called “leaders”. Not that we aren’t already, but they are just underlining it in red.

  • AmericanCitizen

You would think that if America really sucks so bad for blacks they’d be lined up at the airports and ocean liner terminals to escape the horrible effects of white privilege and racism. Instead it seems like every African scummer that barely knows how to read wants to hitch a ride out of Africa straight to an America ghetto.

  • Reynardine

Proof that you can make ’em kings, and they’ll still bitch and whine. There must be an entire section of the black brain solely devoted to such.

  • See The Future

Negro behavior and crime and she complains that cabs don’t stop for negroes. Still can’t believe we have a negro family in the White house. How embarrassing. We need to be sure to let Whites outside of the U.S. know that most White Americans did not vote for this garbage.

    • Who Me?

We’re going to have to burn the White House and build another one to get rid of the roaches and greasy stank out of there after the next election.

“…South Side of Chicago, who had his share of troubles catching cabs…”
Maybe negroes should stop robbing cab drivers.

    • TheCogitator

Black cab drivers don’t want to pick up blacks.

  • RacialRay

I’ve never mistaken a black for the hired help, simply because so few of them actually hold down jobs.

  • Luca

Thank you professor Michelle. The next time I can’t catch a cab, I will know that the only possible reason is racism. When a short person in the market asks me to reach something on the top shelf, I will now realize she is a racist. Thank God we have these brilliant negroes to teach us such things. We’d never be able to come these conclusions on our own.

    • DD-762

I wonder how many of those “racist” cab drivers were black. I would not describe the cab drivers’ action as racism but as self-preservation.

    • newscomments70

I find it an amusing irony that black males complain about being avoided by cab drivers. What are they complaining about? Everytime I am in an urban area, at home or abroad, I am flooded with aggressive offers from African cab drivers. Many of them will try to deceive or overcharge me…some would do worse. My brother was robbed at knife point by a black cab driver in the Carribean. I was actually briefly kidnapped once by a cabdriver (of Indian decent, to be fair). My white privilege is to be harrassed and robbed by black (and other) cab drivers. Blacks wish that they had this privelidge. I don’t get it.

  • Samuel Hathaway

Aw, poor, poor Michelle, the First Negress of the U.S.A, being asked to do anything a normal person might be asked to do — to help someone else take something off a shelf. What self-absorbed, selfish, lazy wench. As a white male, I’m sure I’ve mopped more kitchen floors and scrubbed more toilets, not to mention fixing a hissing toilet more than this lazy excuse of a mistake.

    • DD-762

Believe it or not, deep down I have always had some respect for our First Lady. The fact that she was looking out for military families to attempting to help eliminate obesity in kids, I thought was admirable. But after reading this crap, I realize she is no different than “a typical black woman” (remember that one from Barry-substitute white for black).

I am sure her handlers came up with the idea regarding military families and childhood obesity.

Looking back, other than Barbara Bush, I cannot think of one First Lady who I really liked. They all considered themselves royality.

IMO, the U.S. media places too much emphasis on the importance of the Office of the President. We must remember there are three, supposedly, equal branches of government. Treat them all as equals.

      • BlueSonicStreak

I wouldn’t be entirely surprised if the obesity thing was not her idea. Obesity is even MORE acceptable to blacks than it is to increasingly lazy whites.

Then again, maybe she really is just bright enough to recognize it’s a problem. God knows the obesity thing has made her loathed amongst many liberals who voted for Obama, because they consider her campaign to be “child abuse.”

      • Spikeygrrl

Looking back, I’d add Nancy Reagan, Pat Nixon, and Laura Bush to your tally. I probably just have more back to look upon than you do 😉

And then there’s Jackie, who I’m excluding here because she was a blue-blood and style icon in her own right.

  • DLRisVH

“She said the incidents are “the regular course of life” for African-Americans ”

Just one more reason why blacks would be much happier in Africa.

    • Cid Campeador

We Euro-Americans really need to stop freaking out over these incidents of Black petulance. We’re only stressing ourselves while nothing is EVER going to change.
I can’t remember how many times I been in dept.stores where people came up to me and asked me if I worked there. Every friggin’ thing offends them.
If you happen to be walking toward a person in a valet parking garage, so what if they happen to think that you’re the guy who going to get their car. First of all Mr. POTUS, most valet “parkers” that I see are White.

If you are so unhappy here, then go live among your own people in Africa. Good riddance!

Take a look at the ‘help’—they don’t work and aren’t competent.

Look at Obama—watches ESPN before he goes to ‘work’.

Nothing much changes with these people….

Well, the “war on women” fizzled in the last election, so back to the race card.

    • LexiconD1

Most whites are already sick of it. Look at any article that features ‘racism’…

Even my Mother, who’s a die hard Demo (although my Dad throws her ballot away), when the commercial for ‘Selma’ came on turned to me and said, “I’m so sick and tired of all this ‘black’ crap. Time for it to stop (she’s 71)”. I was kind of shocked.

      This happened today.

Shoving their ‘mistreatment’ down everyone’s throat is working, but not like they want it to.

  • Cannot Tell

In his book, Why Race Matters, Michael Levin suggested that blacks evolved a tendency to get very upset over trivial matters. I think he said that blacks, by nature, are very loud and for an aggrieved person to get attention they must display an inordinate amount of outrage at the incident. Levin suspects that this phenomenon explains some of black behavior and why whites take us seriously. Whites did not evolve to be accustomed to people constantly fussing. Therefore, when they see blacks getting all worked up over “racist” incidents they really believe that we are upset and have been wronged.

    • Whites evolved to be stoic and cooperative in the face of adversity, as whining and crying about every little thing never got anyone through a harsh winter when food was scarce. Persistent privation and discomfort was the norm for our people in most of our native lands, which also drove us to then invent the creature comforts that non-whites so take for granted as guests in our countries.

We take complaints among our own kind seriously, because we view whiners with contempt (they are acting antisocially) and do assume that most would only complain about something with good reason. It’s just one more fundamental way in which whites and blacks are utterly incompatible. Can any white person here imagine complaining about the nonsensical grievances aired by the Obamas? It’s pathetic and embarrassing.

They should be embarrassed, but seem incapable of shame.

    • BlueSonicStreak

I have that book in my Kindle library and keep meaning to read it.

I would be curious to know if he really does have a plausible explanation for the loudness thing. It’s an indisputable black characteristic, but I would have thought the plains of Africa (over which you can probably hear sound for quite a ways) would have encouraged people to evolve to be quiet.

  • John R

Where to begin. I will just say, briefly, that both of these clowns have had all sorts of promotions and privileges handed to them because of their race. College, law school, jobs, etc. In addition, I will recall the many times I have experienced racism at the hands of blacks, and it wasn’t as subtle as asking me to get something off a shelf. There are areas of the city I live near that I won’t go because I am white, and I don’t even ride public transit anymore because of my race. Finally, I will only mention, in passing, that there is no where else in the world where blacks have it better than in this country. And these two are better off probably than almost any other black person on the planet. I am tired of the complaining.

  • B.A_2014

“No one knew that was me. Because a woman actually walked up to me, right? I was in the detergent aisle, and she said — I kid you not — she said, ‘Excuse me, I just have to ask you something.’ And I thought, ‘Oh, cover’s blown.’ She said, ‘Can you reach on that shelf and hand me the detergent?’ I kid you not. And the only thing she said — I reached up, because she was short, and I reached up, pulled it down. She said, ‘Well, you didn’t have to make it look so easy.’ That was my interaction. I felt so good.”

Treated like help? Who hasn’t been? My favorite story happened one time when I was in the Palo Alto area. I and male friend of mine were shabbily dressed and out on the street, when an obviously upscale woman came up to us late in the day and asked for help with her vehicle. At least she was discerning enough to ask the right people. But she used her best upscale voice and accent when she asked us. I didn’t know what to say quite to level the situation, but what I came up with, “I got over 700 on my GREs, but I’ll help you.”

And we did. I don’t remember the problem but we either got her car going or waited until a tow truck got there. Yeah, everybody gets it every now and then. How does anybody know who you are, except by how you are dressed, where you are, body language and attitude, and how you speak? Yeah, color too. But failing to pass in the other particulars can get you in a jam even if you are white. There are a lot more white guys who aren’t Mitt Romney than there are white guys who are.

It’s disgraceful to listen to the President of the United States grouse about being mistaken for a working man and to whine about being a victim of a slight. Some Muslim woman at Walmart asked me to pass her something from the high shelf. She reasoned, “I am short, you are tall, I thought I would ask you.” Fair enough. Also, I was dressed informally, she may have thought that I worked there. I almost forgot about that. I thought it insignificant, and I didn’t mind helping her out with such a small task. If someone is polite, I will help anyone. I didn’t know that she insulted me. I didn’t know that I could cash in on victimhood here. I could scream all sorts of accusations. I could be on David Letterman and tell my tale….how I was violated by a possible member of ISIS. Wow, I thank liberal media and race hustlers for letting me know that EVERYTHING is racist and degrading.

These weren’t even racial issues. Wearing a black-tie in a restaurant or parking lot and being mistaken for a waiter or valet, respectively, happens more often to ordinary people than he thinks.

They sound like whining crybabies, to me.

  • cherrie greenbaum123

Please youtube “Four year old cries after being rejected by a classmate because she’s black” to see how this whining begins at a very early age.

    • BlueSonicStreak

To be fair, you’re talking about a four year old. Toddlers crying at rejection is normal. Many cry at slights and pains because they haven’t developed enough emotional equilibrium yet not to.

What’s not cute is when they are 40 and still doing it.

  • Tully

This shouldn’t be surprising. The guy and his minions like Holder play the victim card every chance they get and don’t hesitate to bully and label whites as racists when they get a chance.

And this latest outpouring by them is just further proof how much they hate whites. They will always see themselves as victims even though they live like royalty and are protect by hundreds of white Secret Service agents.

  • George Clark

I’ll bet if I searched for a picture of that Target trip, she’d be wearing a bright red outfit. I work as a vendor, and I have to go into the local target twice a week to merchandise it. If I wear a red polo shirt (my uniform color choices are red and blue) to Target, I’m hassled incessantly by customers wanting help finding things. If I wear blue to Walmart, the same thing happens there.

The funniest part of this entire exercise is that she clearly states that a customer “asked me to help her take something off a shelf.” Gee, I always consider it to be racist when an elderly black woman at Target or Walmart asks me to help her lift a case of drinking water off of the shelf and into her cart. I know it’s just payback for my ancestors being involved in enslaving her ancestors.

  • crockadoodle6

Stupid people confuse anecdotes with meaningful data. This is more of the racial identity politics that establishes their street cred. Like Eric Holder’s anecdote about the car search experience simply because he was black. They inhale air and exhale whine with each breath. Regardless of their political success they appear to be very snarky, unhappy, ungrateful, people with huge chips.

“Obamas on Race: We’ve Been Treated Like the Help”

The black image is one of crime and violence, and it includes a view that they’re lower than average in intelligence, lack impulse control, behave like imbecilic children, and they whine constantly and are never satisfied.

This is the image created by none other than blacks themselves. Instead of berating people and childishly whining, they need to improve their lot, but they’re so dense and arrogant they aren’t able to understand that.

By complaining about being regarded as stupid and inept, it isn’t wise to furnish examples of those things to prove that the black stereotypical image is unequivocally true.

Doubly-labeled water studies have proven beyond a shadow of doubt that the overweight eat more – and they eat roughly what you’d expect based on the math. Calories are not magical. Fat is not created from thin air.

There are definitely genetics involved, but I would curious to know how they have changed so much in less than 50 years that we would go from 200lbs being massively overweight for most people to 200lbs being merely above average.

Also, the health effects of obesity really aren’t overstated much. The few studies that have claimed otherwise have had their methodology (usually badly defined cohorts) ripped to shreds.

The failures of obesity intervention trace back to non-compliance. EVERY time.

Ever seen that College Humor video “if Google was a man” where a woman picks the ONE result out of thousands for her search that shows vaccines cause autism? The fat acceptance movement is much the same way with the science.

I’ve noticed a belief in race realism tends to go hand-in-hand with crankery in general. Doesn’t make race realism look too credible, I have to say.

Starting to get really furious at everything that is being deleted by the mods at the original article’s source on ABC.

They have left just enough of my comments to make me look like I enjoy complaining about black people without being able to support anything I say. E.g. I left a comment mentioning the rise in black-on-white crime which has been left up, but a follow-up comment with actual stats has been pulled. To fence-sitters too lazy to do research, this is going to look like I backed down because I couldn’t back it up.

Moochelle and the community organizer relate these accounts thinking that it will be viewed as another negative against whites for having what they deem to be bad thoughts about all blacks and them specifically.

It would never occur to these mentally challenged people that it is the deplorable black image created by an overwhelming amount of black pathologies that are responsible for the black image not the people who hold such views. They’re only reacting to what they see and hear every day. And both Moochelle and the community organizer are careful not to mention that other races, not just whites, hold EXACTLY the same image of blacks in general.
