Journey for Justice Runs into Hostile Counter-Protest, Keeps Marching

Hannah Baldwin, Columbia Missourian, December 3, 2014

About 50 activists marching from Ferguson to Jefferson City encountered a hostile counter-protest Wednesday in Rosebud.

About 200 people met the marchers as they reached Rosebud around noon, activists said. A display of fried chicken, a melon and a 40-ounce beer bottle had been placed in the street. A Confederate flag flew. Counter-protestors shouted racial epithets.

Rhea Willis of Velda City, Missouri, said she saw a boy she estimated to be 8 years old holding a sign that read, “Go home.”

Somebody shot the window out of the back of one of the buses traveling with the march, dubbed by the NAACP as the Journey for Justice. The outer pane of glass broke. The bullet landed in the windowsill, the driver said.

Two of the counter-protesters drove ahead of the Journey for Justice to meet them outside of Mount Sterling, a little less than 20 miles away, their stopping point for the night.

Doug McQuery of Bland, Missouri, wore a T-shirt stating his support for police officer Darren Wilson who shot and killed unarmed teenager Michael Brown in August. {snip}

McQuery said he thought it was fine if activists wanted to burn down their own town, but said he wasn’t going to stand for that elsewhere. He said he didn’t know the NAACP’s march would be peaceful.

{snip}

The marchers collapsed in exhaustion on the floor of the gym at Lincoln University on Wednesday night. They had walked 20 miles that day, about the same distance they’ve walked every day since Saturday, when the Journey for Justice started at the site of the shooting death of Michael Brown Jr., in Ferguson, according to previous Missourian reporting. About 50 activists marched Wednesday.

  • Rosebud barely has more than 400 people, the county has 15,000 people. So a turnout of 200 to meet the bell curvers is pretty good.

I’m just wondering why the handsupdontshooters are even bothering marching to Jefferson City. The legislature is not in session, and it won’t be until early next month. Parasites like me aren’t there for that reason. Jay Nixon may or may not actually be at the Governor’s Mansion depending on his schedule.

    • The marchers are bored and none of them have jobs; those are the reasons. Daytime TV must be pretty dreadful if even blacks won’t stay home and watch it.

    • TruthBeTold

They have some bizarre notion that ticking off people will get them what they want.

Like the Occupy movement it should fizzle out. If not, they get their race war.

  • dd121

I’m glad to see push back even if it is only an eight year old.

    • APaige

I just love these heart-warming stories that come out around Christmas. This one made me giggle and smile.

    • Reynardine

It is nice to see younger and younger people wake up. Baby Boomers smoked too much pot while watching the Cosby show, and they think all blacks are like that. The younger generation (myself included, I’m a millenial) is a little edgier and a little more fed up. The N-word is freely exchanged among younger whites, whereas in Baby Boomer company it’s about the greatest faux pas you can make, even if no blacks are present.

Oprah’s wish that “racism will be solved when the racists die off” isn’t going to come true. The older generation is the most racially sensitive one.

      • BlueSonicStreak

Also a Millennial here, and I can’t say I agree at all. My experience is that most people of our generation buy into the “white privilege” narrative at least to some degree, and MANY have gone full retard with it.

Which is NOT to say that your experience is wrong; but we obviously have known very different people.

Perhaps what this really means is that we are actually seeing a sharp polarization of our generation. Would be interesting to know if there are any polls of our age group on political views that go deeper than “liberal or conservative?”

        • Reynardine

One of the things I love about this forum is that most of the disagreements are handled with respect and dignity. At the end of the day, we whites should do what we do best: cooperate.

I have definitely known the type of white you’re talking about. I do see plenty of Social Justice Warrior types. They’re not too popular to hang around, because they tend to be the moralizing ones that the left tried to associate with Christendom. One berated me for using the word “tranny” because it wasn’t the correct term, to which I responded that I never kept up with the correct terms. He then tried to convince us that certain words belong to certain groups. He was supremely anti-religious and an an avowed “fascist.” Identity guilt is a strong drug. To borrow a phrase from the anti-meth campaigns: “Not even once.”

What I’m predominantly talking about is racism in humor. Serious racism is still pretty taboo, even with the more conservative types (they’ll use Thomas Sowell or Walter Williams as the saviour of the black race), but racism in humor is on the acceptable side of edgy. You see things such as Cards Against Humanity which has several cards that definitely eat away at pure little SJW hearts. The leftist reaction to CaH is downright amusing, with several blogs posting about “burning the racist and sexist cards.” How democratic and supportive of free speech! Just don’t burn a Koran, mmkay?

Hipster racism/sexism (making ironically racist/sexist remarks) is also not tolerated by the SJW-types, but accepted by many others.

Really, I think you need to find some edgier friends 😉

  • OT slightly.

His great-great-great-great-great grandfather was probably on the frontier selling guns to the Indians.

    • Oil Can Harry

Whites selling guns to Injuns? Winchester ’73 starring Jimmy Stewart!

Speaking of OT you should check out Steve Sailer’s latest piece in Takimag.

It appears that Rolling Stone mag has just created a colossal gang-rape hoax involving the University of Virginia.

      • Now the late breaking news on that front is that the author of the RS piece was fishing for a juicy narrative to sell magazines and drive website traffic, mega-clickbait.

        • Oil Can Harry

The author is a p.c. femiNUT who wanted to write about campus rape and chose UVA because it’s Southern and conservative.

In her piece she trashes UVA founder Thomas Jefferson, complains that the school has too many blonde students and claims the college has so many rapes because they lack “radical feminists trying to overthrow the patriarchy”.

So glad this hoax is blowing up in her face.

          • Sick of it

The author has a name with an obvious connection, thus making sense of her hatred toward whites.

          • Juggernaut3000

No non-White should EVER be allowed to define Whites.

          • James Mayer

Ejaculating all over it more like…

          • [Guest]

The manufactured outrage over this fake-rape story also serves the purpose of diverting attention from the murder of Hannah Graham, the UVA student apparently done in my the dreadlock-wearing gentle-giant black man Jesse Matthew.

The false accusations of rape against white fraternity men are more important to these people than the sacrifice of a teenage white girl at the hands of a black monster.

          • Unfortunately, she’ll still get plenty of paid writing work. There’s always HuffPo, after all.

      • dd121

They apologized but I suspect the only thing they’re really sorry about is getting caught.

  • Whitetrashgang

I don’t know fried Chicken, 40 ounce beer and a back window of a bus shot out sounds like a wedding where I live. I hate watermelon though it tastes funny, don’t do melons.

    • B.A_2014

I love water melon and fried chicken. Them black folk know good good.

No, it sounded like a Cajun expression.

      • dd121

Plus, they don’t seem too concerned about their heart attack at 48.

  • LHathaway

I realize no one has ever spoken up for whites, ever, while they rob us rape us and steal from us and it is expected to be Ok, no one says a word, except on behalf of them, but you don’t protest someone else’s protest. We all value free speech too much to do that. You have protest at a separate place or venue and say what it is you have to say.

    • Ron Cheaters

I think they were trying to tell them to take their protests elsewhere… IOW Don’t invade our town with your nonsense.

    • Where is the “Protest Etiquette” book that says that? I’d like to read it. The way I see it, anyone or any group of people out in public, deliberately making themselves look like idiots is subject to ridicule. Folks can be as silly as they want at a private venue, but when they’re out in public, we don’t have to pretend to take them seriously.

    • none of your business

Puleeze, don’t knock the one town where 200 people stood up publicly for Officer Wilson. The rest of us just do nothing.

  • Whitetrashgang

No, its incredible White people don’t protest every year.

  • connorhus

The Bullet/window thing is wrong. The window was cracked and another Mid-Missouri news agency had pictures of it. It was not shot, or no one knows how it got cracked anyway.

More sensational lies. The norm with these types.

    • I read this:
‘The outer pane of glass broke. The bullet landed in the windowsill, the driver said.’
and I was thinking it had to be a bb.

      • Even a .22″ rimfire bullet would have traversed the bus completely, so yes, this sounds like something that came from a Daisy “Red Ryder” (240 feet per second with a steel BB).

        • Or it came from somebody’s fevered imagination.

          • Was a police report even filed? If not, this automatically means that it didn’t happen.

          • Kenner

Good point, they would never pass on the publicity.

          • connorhus

No a report was not filed. It was first written about with a photo on Wednesday during the Rosebud thing in this article. At that time there was a picture and everyone said it was just a crack and no one knew where it came from. Later that night a Woman began saying she thought it was from being shot and then the next day it suddenly became a bullet. All BS. No report filed just sensationalism made up after the fact.

          • Apparently this woman has never seen a junk car that has been used for target practice.

          • Kenner

–Along with a number of other misfires from that area.

  • It’s good these Marxist filth are discovering firsthand what normal people think of them and their antics.

    • A Freespeechzone

How ironic that the First Amendment cuts BOTH ways……

      • The comments on the “Columbia Missourian” site indicate that this fact thoroughly infuriates some of them.

    • JohnEngelman

Have you ever tried reading Marx? He was a difficult writer. He requires more than eighth grade literacy.

      • LHathaway

Are you suggesting Michael has an eighth grade reading level (easy, black crime has us all on edge)?. I didn’t give you a positive vote for the insult, if that’s what it was, but for your recommendation and comment on Marx.

      • Sick of it

Most self-avowed Marxists only know the talking points shared with them by more intelligent folks.

        • kikz2

          spoonfed….

        • Juggernaut3000

Most self-avowed White Marxists are brainwashed fools with little understanding of what it is they’re supporting, spouting off lines they’ve been fed and memorized from their non-White cult minders.

          • Let’s take a look at one of Marx’s big gripes: ownership of means of production. I have a basement workshop full of decent machine tools that I bought with money I didn’t spend on $7 lattes at Starbucks, going to concerts, eating out or otherwise buying a lot of junk I don’t need (laptop, marijuana, tablet, mobile phone, trendy clothes, cable or dish TV, etc.), after paying income taxes on that money.

            Q. When does a hobby workshop become a dreaded “means of production”?

            A. The minute a 20-something Commutard decides that my having spent my own money and many years acquiring it “isn’t fair”.

          • Juggernaut3000

Neither did those White Christians in the old Soviet Union think it was fair to have their land confiscated – land their ancestor had tilled for a thousand years.

See, the thing is with Communism, it goes against Human Nature. To make everyone equal, except the Soviet Bosses who are MORE equal than others – it entails a lot of strong-arm, police-state tactics like putting a bullet in the back of the neck of those who don’t like collectivisation or “all or equal.”

It required putting a bullet in the back of the neck of or starving out 60 million (low estimate) White Christian Russians and Ukrainians to go along with the plan, a plan that thankfully collapsed in on itself. A Pyrrhic Victory, no doubt.

Don’t wonder why so many Russians joined with the Nazis to help defeat Russia’s greatest enemy- Communists that had taken over the Kremlin. I would have joined the Nazis too if I were a Russian.

        • ghettovalley

The true believers are the ones orchestrating this nonsense from behind the scenes. These ignorant morons burning down the local Walgreens have probably never even heard of Karl Marx.

          • Sick of it

The irony of it is that the “true believers” don’t believe in the principles at all. They simply see how the ideas can gain them wealth and power with a lot less effort than honest work.

          • ghettovalley

They are looking to redistribute the wealth directly into their pockets.

        • Reynardine

Very few, if any, Marxists have read anything beyond “popular” Marxist websites. Most just get exposed to the idea by in-school guilt-tripping. Even fewer read the Communist Manifesto. I’ve never heard of even one who has attempted Das Kapital.

      • I had to read the Communist Manifesto for an undergrad history class on 19th century Europe. It represented an oversimplification of conditions in the 1840’s.

      • dd121

I thought is writing was often ponderous and opaque.

        • JohnEngelman

The Communist Manifesto is lucid, and can be read in a single sitting. Das Kapital is heavy going.

I think what Karl Marx had to say that is insightful was expressed in the Communist Manifesto. The natural tendency of capitalism is to accumulate wealth at the top. Unregulated capitalist economies will experience increasingly severe economic downturns. We have experienced both of these since the Republicans began to repeal Keynesian economic policies during the Reagan administration.

Karl Marx was most obviously wrong when he said that blue collar workers are not nationalistic. His labor theory of value ignores different demands for different kinds of labor. There is no inevitable transition from slavery to feudalism to capitalism. The revival of slavery in the New World demonstrates that. Dialectical materialism is secular mythology.

          • dd121

To me it’s a bit puzzling to see wealth continue to concentrate regardless of the political/economic system. It concentrates in Russia as well as the USA. That produces some bad consequences. I don’t know enough economics to know if anybody has an explanation.

          • JohnEngelman

I have three explanations. Liberals only want to talk about the first one. First, the tax system has become flatter, labor unions are weaker, the minimum wage and unemployment compensation have lost ground to inflation.

Second, computer technology increases the relationship between IQ and Income. Liberals do not want to acknowledge that IQ differences matter.

Third, immigration means more job applicants and more consumers. By the law of supply and demand that means lower wages, higher prices, and higher profits.

          • dd121

All three sound plausible and probably all three contribute to the effect.

          • Doubtless some of the contributing causes have synergistic co-effects.

          • Screamin_Ruffed_Grouse

Unfortunately, none of those explanations actually address dd121’s curiosity. They are all factors affecting the economy in the U.S./Europe, but don’t address why wealth seems to accumulate at the top regardless of political and economic structures.

            Here’s one that does:

Regardless of system, someone will always have to be in charge; to handle governmental responsibilities. Those people will invariably be in a position to raid the wealth of others, whether directly or indirectly.

          • Immigration might mean more job applicants and more consumers, but bringing them here just to support entire extended families on welfare means they’re a net drag on the economy. Consumerism isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, either. Do you imagine that importing even more cheap, plastic junk from China, just so it will wind up in landfills later is a benefit to American society?

      • The All Seeing Bry

I read the manifesto when I was 19. I found it very boring and dry. I read it, and said “really, this is what people actually believe in!?”.

I haven’t read any of his longer work though.

      • none of your business

His prose style would be difficult to read even if his theories made sense. Too bad he never took the standard high school English composition course. Of course English was his second language. Did he write in German and translate or have someone else translate? Either way his writings need a a lot of work just to grasp his ideas.

        • JohnEngelman

Karl Marx was multi lingual, but he wrote in German.

So the chances of you picking one up at a small town Missouri grocery store in December would be close to zero. Thanks.

          • Ron Cheaters

It would be greenhouse, and overpriced. Not worth the money when you could draw a watermelon on a piece of cardboard.

        • Kenner

Yeah, the poem doesn’t start: ‘When the frost is on the watermelon…’

          • ghettovalley

From what I understand basically everything there worth running is controlled by the descendants of Europeans. The Indians or whatever you call them, eventually overthrow the power structure but it all falls to pieces within a few years for obvious reasons. At this point the ruling class with predominately Spanish blood take everything over again until the next revolution, because they are the only ones capable of really running things long-term. So this comes as no surprise.

        • Avocados from Peru are available in winters here, but are also disappointing. They’re small, and since an avocado pit is almost always of a uniform size, much of what one is paying for with a small avocado is the pit.

Thought you might appreciate this letter from the president of the Univ. of Virginia in Charlottesville, which I quote verbatim:

      Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff:

In light of recent court decisions in New York and Missouri, I write today to add my voice to the national chorus of voices condemning the use of violent force, and even deadly force, against persons who have not been convicted of any crime.

In this season of celebration, we celebrate our shared values above all. These values include belief that every life matters, that every person deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, and that every person should enjoy equal protection and treatment under the law. This should hold true in every corner of our community and all across our nation, regardless of race, ethnicity, religious belief or any other mark of human diversity.

Controversy and strife can divide a community, or they can bring a community together. During a period of turmoil on our Grounds and on the national stage, we must rely on one another for mutual support now more than ever. Please come to the Lighting of the Lawn tonight. [blah, blah, blah]

      Very truly yours,
      Teresa A. Sullivan
      President

Please bear in mind this is from a woman who suspended all fraternities at UVA based on a false rape article about one fraternity in Rolling Stone magazine. But of course facts never matter to Liberals.

There are very small towns in North Carolina where they would have met this type of reception. These small, Southern, close nit communities have their internal problems, but they’re united in the cause of standing firm against the negro. Blacks wouldn’t dare think of moving there. I’m thinking Ramseur, North Carolina. Met a lady at a party tonight who has a home there. She and her husband were having a dispute with one of her neighbors over zoning issues which affected their property. I’m pretty sure that whatever differences they had between them, they’d find common cause defending the town from negro invasion by making them feel supremely unwelcome. Something to think about for those of us seeking to escape the undertow in the cities.

If a family can afford it and still maintain a decent standard of living, it would be wise for them to move to small towns or somewhere in the countryside.

  • mael

Funny how they never try their monkeyshine in the rural White areas.

    • Reynardine

I, for one, like to spread the stereotype to my leftist co-workers that rural whites are exactly how they’re portrayed in Deliverance.

      Keeps the DWL out.

      • ghettovalley

The scene that comes to mind, isn’t that basically your typical DWL’s lifestyle? You might actually draw them to rural areas in droves since they’re already into that kind of stuff anyway.

        • Reynardine

          I laughed. Thank you, sir.

        • Black Swan

          Bathouse Barry certainly is.

      • Spikeygrrl

        “DWL” ?

  • Reynardine

The disappearing melon, chicken and 40oz reminds me of the other boogie men the leftists keep seeing everywhere: swastikas (on hindu temples), racial profanities scribbled on the doors of black fraternities (with handwriting similar to the members), shutting down campuses because of suspected KKK activity (somebody saw someone in a blanket) …

“If Hitler did not exist, it would be necessary to create him.”

“A display of fried chicken, a melon and a 40-ounce beer bottle had been placed in the street.” That probably hit some of these protestors a little too close to home. I wonder if any of them found that they couldn’t resist the fried chicken and watermelon and stopped to eat some.

    • Black Swan

First, one must believe the lies of protesters who are being fed lines by the likes of Maoist Bob Avakian of “revcom us,” Revolutionary Communist Party. His name is all over the pre-made protest signs, “BA Speaks.”

The media love to fan the flames of any incitement against Whites and report only that White supremacists shut down peaceful protesters. I believe neither the protesters nor the press.

  • MekongDelta69

About 50 activists marching from Ferguson to Jefferson City encountered a hostile counter-protest Wednesday in Rosebud.

Of course. Because the Ferguson protesters criminals were just so ‘peaceful.’

And anyone who objects to black thugs running rampant, is considered ‘hostile’ to the race-baiting left.

    • Black Swan

Any anyone who objects to black thugs running rampant, is considered a target for destruction to the left-baiting left.

“The marchers collapsed in exhaustion on the floor of the gym at Lincoln University on Wednesday night.”
A two minute “research” session reveals that Lincoln U is a historically black PUBLIC college, has 3000 students, a dismal four year graduation rate of 24%, and accepts 100% of applicants. One of the speakers coming to Lincoln is Tim Wise, the poster child of white guilt.
One doesn’t have to think too much to envision the cultural marxism that these “students” are exposed to.

    • I think the collapsing in “exhaustion” was pure theatrics and a play act.

They didn’t walk the whole way from St. Louis to Jefferson City. They walked a few miles here and there.

      • IstvanIN

probably a few yards here and there, when they thought someone was watching.

        • [Guest]

They rode the bus till the photographer who accompanied them told the driver, “Stop! This is a good place for a picture.”

Then they’d all put away their Obama phones and snacks and get off the bus looking all downtrodden and righteously indignant for the camera.

      • They were probably so overweight from steady diets of McDamage and so out of shape from sitting on their sofas watching Orca on TV every day that they very likely did collapse from exhaustion.

And yes, you’re right about not much walking. According to Yahoo weather, today’s high in the St. Louis area was 44F. Who wants to spend all day walking in that?

        • none of your business

Walking in 44 F keeps you nice and warm. But I doubt they walked more than a few blocks. When they found they had to walk across a college campus to the gym they probably witched and complained like black school kids do when they have to walk to the end of the parking lot.

  • Naw, I’m shocked. Martin Luther King wasn’t all he put on to be?

Next thing you know, you’ll tell me that most of his doctoral dissertation was plagiarized.

I call bs on the chicken, 40, watermelon, and the bullet through the window. If those things were really there they were most likely planted by a provocateur to discredit opposition to the “Hands up don’t shoot!” brigade.

    • John Smith

The chicken, melon and malt liquor were present, but the rest I call BS on. Those items may have been planted by white progressive agitators as a false flag operation to create a talking point for the leftist media.

  • Black Swan

“A display of fried chicken, a melon and a 40-ounce beer bottle had been placed in the street. A Confederate flag flew. Counter-protestors shouted racial epithets….Somebody shot the window out of the back of one of the buses…”

False flags planted to place the blame on Whites – all Whites – and an excuse for a further crackdown on Whites.

  • jayvbellis

Good for Whites who came out. We need to get better at street protests, theater – learn to do group chants, group singing like a English soccer fans. The EDL is pretty good 8 like their “who’s streets? Our streets!”

  • Ruger380

I guess there is plenty of time for protesting when you don’t have to worry about going to work, & your food & housing is paid for by white taxpayers.

    • none of your business

Whites are at work while blacks and students at “Hate Whitey University” have plenty of time to protest.

  • none of your business

That’s why he was so fat. My parents dragged me to one of his speeches. He was about 30 at the time. We sat sort of to the side of the stage. His belly stuck out so far he looked 9 months pregnant. And of course he wore a suit jacket to cover it up. He would have looked even more obese had he worn just a shirt and pants.
I have always wondered what Jew wrote his “letters from a Brimingham jail” They were a direct copy of all Lenin and the others letters they wrote from prison.

  • John Smith

I saw the video and no one I saw shouted any “racial epithet,” though the chicken, melon and 40oz. were present. Perhaps the locals were just being thoughtful and providing black comfort foods? I also doubt the bullet story.
