One year after the murder of Iryna Zarutska, nothing has changed. Deep blue jurisdictions are doubling down on defending habitual criminals. “Mental health” remains an excuse for letting off the worst of the worst. Memorials to the victim have been taken down and attacked. It is becoming increasingly difficult to avoid a grim conclusion. If the purpose of the system is what it does, then the consequences of a policy were the intent.
