In Praise of Huddled Masses

Editor’s Note: This is the only news item we’ll be posting today. It’s an editorial published thirty years ago in the Wall Street Journal.

Amid the fireworks and picnics as this nation celebrates its independence tomorrow, we hope Americans stop to ask, what is the United States? The question is especially appropriate at this moment in the history of a nation of immigrants; upon returning from its July 4 recess Congress will try to finish work on the Simpson-Mazzoli bill.

The answer to the question is in the first words of our Constitution, “We, the people.” It was the people, and especially new people, who worked this land into a New World. We hope today’s gentlepeople, the descendants of the tired and poor who sought refuge on these shores, can still spare a thought for today’s huddled masses, yearning to be free.

Simpson-Mazzoli, we are repeatedly told, is a carefully crafted compromise. It is in fact an anti-immigration bill. Note well that despite its grant of amnesty for aliens who have been residents long enough, its most outspoken opponents are the Hispanics, who would prefer to live with the present laws. Its constituency is an interesting and perhaps portentous alliance of the “nativist” Americans who still dominate Mountain States politics and the “Club of Rome” elitists of the Boston-Washington corridor.

We can hope that the bill will die in the House-Senate conference, which still must resolve such contentious differences as whether or not to have a program of temporary guest workers for agriculture. If it survives conference, President Reagan would be wise to veto it as antithetical to the national self-confidence his administration has done so much to renew.

If Washington still wants to “do something” about immigration, we propose a five-word constitutional amendment: There shall be open borders. Perhaps this policy is overly ambitious in today’s world, but the U.S. became the world’s envy by trumpeting precisely this kind of heresy. Our greatest heresy is that we believe in people as the great resource of our land. Those who would live in freedom have voted over the centuries with their feet. Wherever the state abused its people, beginning with the Puritan pilgrims and continuing today in places like Ho Chi Minh City and Managua, they’ve aimed for our shores. They–we–have astonished the world with the country’s success.

The nativist patriots scream for “control of the borders.” It is nonsense to believe that this unenforceable legislation will provide any such thing. Does anyone want to “control the borders” at the moral expense of a 2,000-mile Berlin Wall with minefields, dogs and machine-gun towers? Those who mouth this slogan forget what America means. They want those of us already safely ensconced to erect giant signs warning: Keep Out, Private Property.

The instinct is seconded by the “zero-sum” mentality that has been intellectually faddish this past decade. More people, the worry runs, will lead to overcrowding; will use up all our “resources,” and will cause unemployment. Trembling no-growthers cry that we’ll never “feed,” “house” or “clothe” all the immigrants–though the immigrants want to feed, house and clothe themselves. In fact, people are the great resource, and so long as we keep our economy free, more people means more growth, the more the merrier. Somehow the Reagan administration at least momentarily adopted the cramped Club-of-Rome vision, forgetting which side of this debate it is supposed to support. Ronald Reagan, we thought, marched to different bywords–“growth,” for example, and “opportunity.”

If anyone doubts that the immigration and growth issue touches the fundamental character of a nation, he should look to recent experience in Europe. Some European governments are taken in by the no-growth nonsense that economic pies no longer grow, and must be sliced. They are actually paying immigrants and guest workers to go home: the Germans pay Turks, the French pay North Africans, the British pay West Indians and Asians. It was this dour view of people as liabilities, not assets, that led to the great European emigration to the U.S. in the first place. Meanwhile, Europe today settles into long-term unemployment for millions while the U.S. economy is booming with new jobs.

The same underlying difference in vision applies in political ideals. The individual is the lightning rod of 20th-century politics. The totalitarians of the Communist Bloc don’t allow their people to leave. The foremost use of the machinery of the state is to wall in the citizens. If we cannot change their regimes, the least we can do is to offer refuge to those of their peoples with the opportunity and courage to arrive here. To do otherwise is to say that the ideals upon which this Republic was founded are spent, that what is left is to negotiate the terms of surrender.

America, above all, is a nation founded upon optimism. The Republic will prosper so long as it does not disavow this taproot. The issue is not what we offer the teeming masses, but what they offer us: their hands, their minds, their spirit, and above all the chance to be true to our own past and our own future.

    I learned from this article that European nations used to be sane.

    • Maybe so, but I still think it’s insane for any nation to pay a group of unwanted immigrants to leave. Notice again, only white nations are gracious enough (actually, stupid enough!) to actually pay people to leave. All non-white nations would have simply apprehended them and booted their butts out of the country!

          Those Brazilians were 100% Japanese and spoke Japanese as well, but since they were not born in Japan and were culturally slightly different Japan did not acknowledge them as their own. Interesting, huh?

          I’ve experienced something similar. I am 100% Italian, all four of my grandparents were born there, I have more family in Italy than I do in the US and when I go there I’d say anywhere from 1/3 to half of the Italians do not consider me one of their own.

            It makes sense when one considers our current situation. Most of us have our origins in Great Britain…but we do not think like the people who live there now. Should a British man accept us as one of his own, when we are so drastically different? Should Southerners accept Yankees as Southerners, despite a completely different worldview…just because they share blood-ties? Separate nations are created by cultural differences as well as biological differences.

            The Northern edges of the South do not fit this description. Western Maryland, should it become the 51’st state, has more German descent than Anglo-Celtic, but is red county territory where many Confederate flags fly. These flags fly in the yards of White Americans who believe in segregation, and the preservation of our culture and race.

            This was appreciated data as my “White Flight” will, in the near future, displace me from the Northeast. I was thinking the Pacific Northwest as relocation. I’ve heard that’s a popular destination of Whites who seek asylum from the Obama liberalism of places like Massachusetts. Western Maryland is now on my radar, though I know in my heart these places become scarce; and a stand and fight scenario will be required.

            I think it would be much easier to move to a White state/area than to move negroes out of a diverse area. My brother lives in Georgia near plenty who fly the Confederate flag but also near too many negroes.

            It’s a matter of getting them to want to leave. Many cities have done this with great success. But to the detriment of the surrounding suburbs. Cities successfully used back room deals with “ring” counties to take in people who had previously lived in the city’s housing projects. Under section 8 they were placed into unsuspecting predominantly white neighborhoods. It was 1000% better than the crap hole they came from so it seemed like a good deal to the ghetto dwellers.

            So they can be compelled to leave if you can make them think it’s better for them. Which isn’t very complicated.

          • The differences are that most of us here don’t worry about another person’s religion, so long as it is not Islam, and that we all spell using the same Roman alphabet. Serbs are Orthodox. Croats are Catholic. They speak the same language, but the Croats write it in the Roman alphabet, while the Serbs use Cyrillic.

            White racial realists, especially, should all be united. Many folks in the rural Midwest have Confederate flags in our yards. I love the sections of the South with few Negroes, but have no use for any Negro infested areas anywhere. Racial realism seems stronger in the Northern reaches of Dixie/Southern reaches of the North than in either the deep North or deep Dixie.

            But it is not as simple as us all ‘trying to get along’. Conflict is organic.

            We have significant differences among us. These differences will only deepen with racial homogeneity and our individual adaptations to a rapidly changing global economy.

            If I may, the Brazilians (and some Peruvians) must have at least one Japanese parent to qualify for the work visa in Japan. Many of the Nikkei are actually only half-Japanese.
            Personal observation, I have met quite a few Brazilians in Japan and most of them are not very fluent in Japanese. They also tend to form little enclaves in the factory towns and generally do not marry Japanese nationals. I found them to be quite different culturally. As in warmer and friendlier.
            For any number of reasons, the Western expats seem to do a better job of integrating (different from assimilating, not an option) into Japanese society.

            Italian Americans are definitely one of our most racial realist White nationalities. The strong ethnic identity of most Italian Americans is exemplary. Racial realism is implicit in ethnic Italian culture in America.

            They are not likely to be bleeding heart liberals. I grew up Catholic. I am of mostly Irish ancestry. Going to parochial schools I have had the experience of being around Italians a lot.
            If you hang around “Anglo” Whites, some might be racist. Some not. But, you have to be careful. Say something against blacks, and you might get some bleeding heart liberal in the bunch attacking you for it. But, hanging around Italians, I never heard one of them attack me for being against “the colored.” They may not be racist sometimes. But they never mind if you are.

            If someone could suggest a people at an extreme racial difference from the Japanese to mix into that hitherto very homogeneous island nation, and begin the process of disintegration, the Brazilian mixed-race would perhaps come first to mind.

            Incidentally, some years ago I watched a TV program about a man of Italian parentage who was born and brought up in Japan, able to speak the language fluently and understand its traditions with complete empathy, but not only did the Japanese regard him as an outsider (obviously from his western physiognomy) but he said that he could never feel one of them psychologically however home-bred he was.

            It sounds like the essential temperament difference between Caucasians and Asiatics was always palpable to him. Just like Whites who grow up around Negroes, but never find their behavior normal or palatable, so they make it their goal to move into a White neighborhood. Once they have moved, they avoid Blacks as much as possible.

            And that is what I hate so much about these “non-racist” White people: Their hypocrisy. They will attack you over and over about how “racist” you are, how “intolerant” you are, but if you ask them, “fine, you like black people so much? Why don’t you move to a black neighborhood and send your kids to a black school?” They can never answer.

            Btw, I read your post, something about Southern Heritage. While I respect the White people of the South, I disagree with White people-North or South-who still want to re-fight the American Civil War. That war was a tragedy. Over 600,000 White men died in that, just to free three and a half million blacks. We Whites can’t afford to be fighting amongst ourselves. We have done that too much already, and only our race enemies benefit.

            I agree with you on the Civil War. This was one of America’s darkest moments. Brother against brother, Whites slaughtering each other over states’ rights and the slavery issue. The Southern thing I mentioned was Southern sentiment in South Jersey. In the comments on the article on the prep school in Lawrenceville, NJ, where the Negress class president mocked White male students, quite a few commenters seemed to think that a Rebel flag in Jersey is unimaginable. I commented on the cultural difference between North Jersey and South Jersey, that South Jersey, especially away from the Philly burbs/Atlantic City, definitely has strong Southern sentiments. Rural South Jersey is a lot more like Delmarva that it is like North Jersey, and it is nothing unusual to see a Rebel flag in that area. Lawrenceville is near Trenton, so students from South Jersey farm country attending that school, and feeling very country and Southern around the fast talking North Jersey types, would not surprise me at all.

            Maybe. But I heard somewhere that migration between the regions of the country has actually increased their cultural differences. My experience has been it is mainly the more conservative Northerners who move down South, wanting to live in an area where people share their values.

            I think it depends on where in the South. If we are talking about The Ozarks in Missouri/Arkansas, most definitely. If we are talking about Eastern Virginia, NYC/Boston types are the dominant Northern group. Election results have shown what they have done to this area.

            As a Westerner, you’d probably hate North Jersey/NYC/Southern New England. You’d probably find Northern/Western PA pretty appealing, as well as Northern/Western NY, Western MD, and even South Jersey away from the Philly burbs/Atlantic City. These more rural sections of the NE are red county areas, few non-Whites, and very nice landscapes. Being from Colorado, you’d especially like Northern PA. Solid red county territory, beautiful mountain scenery.

            My dim recollection is not that he disliked the Japanese but that he couldn’t get into their mental wavelength much as he wished and tried. To quote a lively image from a German leader, whose name has not escaped me, the Japanese are a “people wrapped up in themselves”.

            Not only that, but the Japanese don’t even allow “outsiders” to vote in their elections. That includes Korean Japanese, many of whom have lived in Japan for generations and speak Japanese and, to us anyway, seem indistinguishable from the majority Japanese. Why? Because to the original Japanese, these people are still considered “not Japanese; they are Korean!” The result is of course that Japanese politicians don’t have to answer to ethnic voting blocks.

            I hear you. Damned European Socialism. That is part of the problem for Europeans: You guys have more of a tradition of the state controlling you and regulating even what you can say. In many European countries you can be jailed for denying the Holocaust. Now, don’t get me wrong: I am no pro-Nazi. I know the Holocaust happened and it was a terrible thing. But people should not be jailed just for expressing stupid ideas. (Even liberals! Ha ha!) In the US we have a strong tradition of freedom of speech.             These arguments are stupid, in my opinion. (I’m not taking aim at you in particular, John R, yours just happens to be the post that spurs me to write.)

            Amass power and apply it to protect your interests. Any organism that doesn’t do that is a failure.

            Who argues about this stuff? Suckers. Arguing is a pointless distraction. Are you really going to convince that boatload of Africans above to turn around with words? Is Nancy Pelosi going to listen with an open heart and mind when you tell her washing the feet of disease ridden Amerindians is absurd? Of course not.
            Call your enemy a hypocrite and he smiles and says “yeah, so?” as he eats your porridge and sleeps in your bed.

            Amass power, apply it. We are watching our power slip away; we should make the most of what we have while we still have it rather than cling to our decadent virtues.

            Debate is a parlor game, not an instrument of policy. I mean, at best it helps us amongst ourselves to take the lay of the land and figure out a strategy, but we should give up using it with outsiders. I think a lot of us have had success changing people’s minds by deftly asking questions or using other manipulations. You don’t change an opponent’s mind with argument.

            We must have one standard for engagement with our kith and kin and quite another for this mad mad world. Sorry to bear bad news. Glad to have you with us, friend.

            Those Brazilians were 50% Mestizo right? So how were they ‘100% Japanese’? Are Japanese people half Mestizo now?

            Funny, I always thought they were Eastern Asian.

            In what I read in an article back then, they interviewed plenty of Japanese Brazilians that were 100% Japanese and only removed from Japan one or two generations. Sure there were probably a few mixed, but that was not what I was pointing out. The pure Japanese were denied as well, like I said previously.

            There are some, a friend of mine Karen is half Brazilian Japanese and her dad is a Japanese full on. Ironically she’s an english teacher at Berlitz. She’s a citizen and still isn’t completely integrated.

            You got to grow up here and be indoctrinated in the schools. My kids are being trained to be good little Japos. Thank God we have an english household & culture, otherwise I could see them making kamikaze runs against the USS IOWA!

          • The Kamikaze operations were started in part because a Japanese pilot who attacked a US ship was pretty much committing suicide anyway. My wife’s great-grandfather killed himself that way in 1944. The whole problem is that wars are fought for reasons of state, which makes people an expendable commodity, like ammunition.

            I am not proud of the historic English record in the island next door, but I think it’s time we put an end to wars, civil or international, between white peoples and their nations.

          • I value the English. My native language is English. I think their noses grow out too far and their ears stick out in a funny way. That said, the English were the best code-breakers during both world wars.

            As for PPP, the potato was a New World crop. Human remains from the War Between the States can be quickly identified by the strontium content. We ate corn and Europeans ate rye, and it makes a difference in the strontium content in one’s bones. One’s body can use strontium just as if it were calcium. The remains of the crewmen of the – now recovered – submarine CSS “Hunley” could be told apart because of that.

            Aside from Muslims and vegetarians, who does not like bacon? I use the bacon grease to fry chicken.

            Where the priests are concerned, my mother was Methodist and my ex-father a Catholic. I was never baptised into any faith at all. My only church service was at Westminster Abby as a tourist. Their choir was wonderful. I did not say the “Lord’s Prayer”. I refused, because I will never believe in any organized religion, and so felt that it would have been a violation of me. I do not believe, and I will never pretend to do so. That would make me a hypocrite.

            I live in Japan and I work with a Canadian guy adopted by a Scottish couple and raised in Glasgow? I’ll tell you straight this guy ain’t Canadian, he doesn’t know a damn thing about the place. But nevertheless he’s a citizen.

      This sanity is indeed refreshing now. The Woodstock Generation was still young adults in 1984. The WWII Generation still ran the show. Racial realism was still common sense and the norm for adults over 50. Musharking White females were seen as abhorrent freaks, not the norm.

  • This should have provoked some mass public anger and outburst starting on July 5, 1984.

    The WSJ’s publisher, editorial board, and/or the particular person or people who wrote this should have suffered some sort of consequences.

    The only reason it didn’t happen then is because the universe of Americans affected by the consequences of what the WSJ wanted and still wants was not that big back in 1984. It’s a lot bigger today, so that’s why there’s more public anger over the immigration issue today, and why more people are mad now about what the WSJ called for 30 years ago than they were 30 years ago.

    You see, you could have told people inside the fort that the Indians are coming, and they wouldn’t have cared, or they would have laughed at you and called you black helicopter chicken little. But it’s only when people see the Indians jumping over the wall that the run for the armory. (A rather apt analogy considering the issue, I should say). Plain words, people don’t really act until they’re experiencing the problem directly. The good ole pebble in the shoe.

It’s not strictly zero sum in that ever now and then someone else’s gain comes from nowhere and not at anyone else’s expense.

            Our intelligence, values, and impetus expand our pie, I think it’s important to remember that. What a standard of living we could have if left to our own!

            The zero sum game is, IMHO, not an accurate macroeconomic model. It atomizes players and rewards, as though they were fungible. People are not interchangeable, nor are what they consume. If they were, we wouldn’t need money.

            The $20 in my wallet is the same as the $20 in someone else’s. But I may spend it on some enamel at the hardware store, with which I will scrape and paint the metalwork on the exterior of my home now that the weather is nice. Someone else could spend it on getting their nails done.

            Microeconomically, if I loose ten dollars and they gain ten dollars its a zero sum.

            But macroeconomically, if I forgo maintaining my 100 year old brick home so someone can get their nails done, its a net loss for the system, no?

            So I quibble. We both agree that their gain is our loss, in the immigration context. But for the two reasons above, I think our loss is greater than their gain. So the more they gain, the greater the net loss to the system. I’m not mad about how resources are allocated (resources, what are they? ;-)). I’m sorry because I’m watching resources evaporate. Demography is destiny.

But obviously the word had come down from on high, “Cheap labor, now and forever,” and since a “respectable” publication can’t come out and say that the editors delivered their suicide proposal wrapped in worn to a thread nation of immigrants rhetoric. They didn’t believe it and they knew that their respectable readers didn’t believe it; but they also knew that there are things respectables – in order to stay respectable – will not speak of, never mind oppose. And so the borders have been rendered open, de facto if not de jure, and we’re sunk.

          And the number of jobs available in those fields is very low: we can do everything with just one coder for javascript and MATLAB stuff and one R specialist. Everybody else is either sales force to pitch investors or pump&dump or some kind of analysts who spend their days talking on the phone or visiting our portfolio of companies to extract data and projections.

  • 1. They said that “Simpson-Mazzoli is an anti-immigration bill.” We laugh at that now, because we have the benefit of hindsight. But at the time, that was not such a crazy appellation. The version that was finally signed into law had a whole lot of enforcement and a “small” amnesty as a recompense. Over time, the enforcement was repealed/neutered/ignored, and the small amnesty turned out to be not quite so small.

    2. This is why any new piece of immigration legislation that is said to have a lot of enforcement, that has to be taken with a grain of salt. The enforcement won’t happen, but the amnesty parts will.

    3. Remember, back in 1984-1986, we had a President who everyone thought would enforce the enforcement provisions of Simpson-Mazzoli, and he actually might have in the little more than two years he had remaining as President after it was finally signed into law. But how did that work out in the long run? Compare that to the one we have now, who won’t enforce immigration law that already exists, and certainly won’t enforce any new ones.

    4. Also notice the timeline. Simpson-Mazzoli by name was being debated in the summer of 1984, but wasn’t actually finalized and signed into law until November 1986. Proving that the open borders crowd doesn’t give up.

    5. “There shall be open borders.” And we pretty much have open borders now. It’s amazing to see all the people whining about the consequences of what they said they wanted, and among many others, I am thinking of a certain Ron and Rand.

    6. “Berlin Wall.” Didn’t they have the ability to tell the difference between a wall to keep people out and a wall to keep people in? Now I know where Ron Paul got this meely mouthed nonsense of “border security will only trap us in” that he used as a reason to oppose border fencing. It was nothing more than a cooked up talking point of the open borders lobby to bounce off a temporary tragic circumstance of the time, the Berlin Wall itself and the Iron Curtain in general.

      Regarding the WSJ’s point about the Berlin Wall, what straw man! And the essential difference is that the Berlin Wall was built to keep subjects under totalitarianism inside our borders, whereas we would build walls (actually multiple-level, patrolled high fences) to keep foreigners out and preserve some scraps of our freedom. You want an analogy, consider the defenses the Byzantines built to protect themselves from the Huns and muslims.
      Also, most reading here know this already, but for those who don’t, the Naturalization Act of 1790, one of the first acts of Congress, provided that only free white persons were eligible to become naturalized citizens of the U.S. That law was not completely repealed until 1954, and was enforced at least through the 1920s.

            I prefer the “most critical pathway” method of assessing personal contamination risk. This is usually radioactive iodine or cesium, If you’re worried, avoid Japanese nori (kelp) seaweed. The crud out of that reactor has spread so far and wide that the dose is almost zero by now.

            I would worry a lot more about whether the guy in the oncoming traffic lane has had a few too many drinks. That’s a more realistic concern.

Massive immigration lowers wages and increases internal markets, thereby increasing profits, so it’s no surprise that the WSJ advocates massive immigration.             Keynes’ explanation of the Great Depression is that demand stabilized at a permanently low level. Employers would not hire because employees would not buy. Employees would not buy because they were unemployed, or feared they would become unemployed.

            Keynes argued that under the circumstances the government needed to be the employer and consumer of last resort. As government spending and employment increased, so did economic growth and the employment level. The country rose from the Depression.

            Minimum wage laws and strong labor unions helped, because they made better consumers. As consumers bought more, employers hired more people to produce and sell what was consumed.

            However, the economic policies of John Maynard Keynes, which became those of the New Deal, shifted wealth, power, and prestige from Wall Street to Washington, DC. The heroes of the New Deal were not businessmen, but civil servants, intellectuals, and labor leaders. That is why Republicans never liked the economic policies of John Maynard Keynes, even though The Wall Street Journal has admitted, “Since 1900, the Dow has averaged a 7.8% annual gain under Democratic presidents, compared with a 3% annual gain under Republicans.”

Six years later when Henry Morgenthau made his statement, unemployment had declined by eight percentage points. Henry Morgenthau’s statement, in short, was factually incorrect.

            Young people — the collegiate and post-college crowd, who have served as the most visible face of the Occupy Wall Street movement — might be getting more comfortable with socialism.
            That’s the surprising result from a Pew Research Center poll that aims to measure American sentiments toward different political labels.

            The poll, published Wednesday, found that…socialism has more fans than opponents among the 18-29 crowd. Forty-nine percent of people in that age bracket say they have a positive view of socialism; only 43 percent say they have a negative view.

            And while those numbers aren’t very far apart, it’s noteworthy that they were reversed just 20 months ago, when Pew conducted a similar poll. In that survey, published May 2010, 43 percent of people age 18-29 said they had a positive view of socialism, and 49 percent said their opinion was negative.

      Good point, and as I have already written above, the Naturalization Act of 1790 provided that only free white persons were eligible to become naturalized citizens of the U.S. That law was not completely repealed until 1954. That was a serious restriction on immigration in itself. And there were a bunch of other acts, like the Chinese Exclusion Act, by which the U.S. sought to preserve itself as a white nation. Looking back, our founding flaw is that one phrase, “all men are created equal”, which has caused more destruction and death than any other phrase so short, in my opinion.

          I would say all formerly great White countries have been ruled in practice by koshers and their useful White idiots for some time now.         Diversity is strength? Not in any system I’ve ever heard of. In fact, as constituent elements become more homogeneous, the energy in any system increases. My family is Mid-western — first of all we grew up in a very pro-American environment (as opposed to NYC). And we are half-German, 1/4 Cajun French, 1/4 Catholic Anglo-Irish. Besides hating the English, big-time, from every direction, we are all NW Europeans, and 3/4 Germanic, so the ‘diversity’ is more apparent that real. A strong, healthy US society ought to be able to assimilate at least all European peoples. Family-feeling won’t stretch any farther than that. And, guess what, our society hasn’t been strong or healthy for 60 years.

        You raise an interesting point, in fact the problem i see with curbing immigration in Western countries is that people do NOT care about it enough.

        I will provide a small example: recently in Italy a center- left pro-open border party won a landslide majority at the recent European elections in Italy.

        Italians all of a sudden turned into a bunch of diversity loving hipsters ?

        No they didn’t, most of them are annoyed or downright terrrorized by the continuous flooding of African boat people in the country.

        The problem is this is not yet the most pressing issue in the mind of the electorate. Everybody voted for a party running on some platform of vague economic reforms, because well they are worried about the disastrous economic situation.

        I know John Engelman is not the most popular guy here but he said something very true in a recent post: most voters care truly about 1, maximum 2, political issues so in order to reverse the current state of affairs, secure borders MUST become the number 1 and possibly sole concern of a future political identitarian movement.

        Is it possible to achieve that in a difficult environment when many people are worried about their finances more than about the future ethnic make-up of America ? Marine Le Pen was able to do so, linking the decline of the welfare model, still beloved overthere, in France to the rise of multi-ethnicism in the country.

        I believe it is imperative, otherwise lots of people will keep voting donkey because well they’re worried about possible Medicaid cuts or because they want ahigher minimum wage…even if they don’t like immigrants and deep in their heart are already race realists

          Go to the root. The corporations have too much control, and one consequence of that is that we have politicians playing up to them so that when they get out of office the corporations will pay them millions in speaking and consulting fees.

      This past week, I finally heard Richard Dumb-ka of the AFL-CIO provide some sort of goofball rationale for open borders being good for organized labor.

      The “reasoning” is that if illegal aliens get some sort of legal status and work permits, then employers won’t be able to exploit them and they will no longer be low wage competition for unionized workers.

      Okaybut…if they get legal status and work permits, then they’ll suddenly become legal low wage competition for unionized workers.

      Extending Dumb-ka’s reasoning out to its logical conclusion, then every non-American in the world would have to be given a work permit to make sure that they can’t be exploited. (That sound you hear is Rand Paul cheering and clapping upon reading “everyone in the world gets a work permit.”) And then we’ll live in an exploitation-free slave wage paradise.

      If they were so worried about employer exploitation of illegal alien labor over at the AFL-CIO, they’d push for E-Verify, and swift punishment of employers that hire illegals. However, the AFL-CIO is openly opposed to E-Verify.

        • In the old days, the leaders of organized labor generally came from those in the union who actually did the work that those in the union do. Now, the typical labor leader has the same kind of postgraduate degrees from the same schools and are members of the same country clubs as the business executives they supposedly despise. That and the traditional image of labor unions, comprised of working middle class white men in manufacturing, heavy industry, and skilled trades, has yielded to blacks and Hispanics doing service jobs and government jobs.

          The only thing “labor” leaders care about these days is their own personal well being, which means puffing up union membership rolls at all costs even if it means destroying a white country’s racial demographics, and hustling votes for the blue team. And both of those things are far better explanations for why the AFL-CIO is open borders than the lame-tard reason that Richard Dumb-ka gives.

    White teens in the Midwest and Northeast, in 1984, were aware of Negro problems in the cities, but most of us had never met a Latino. Most White teens wanted to be like Alex P. Keaton on family ties. We figured, if we studied hard in school and went to college, we had a chance to be Alex P. Keaton. We knew the Blacks were a pain in the a&s, to avoid Black neighborhoods and to say no to the drugs Blacks offered us. As far as Latinos, we knew that the one guy from CHIPS was Latino, but most of us had never met a Latino in person. Some of us may have had a Latino kid or two in our class, but they were usually pretty cool, and were nothing like the Blacks. The Latino issue was not even an issue back then, at least in the Midwest. Chi Chi’s was a decent restaurant chain, and the guy on CHIPS, and the Latino kids on Welcome Back Kotter seemed decent. Latinos most lived in Florida and Arizona, so most of us gave little thought to an issue that simply didn’t involve us. Things change over time, though, and hindsight is 20/20. If good old Ronald Reagan could have peered into a crystal ball and seen what America would be like in 30 years, I’m sure he would have sealed the Mexican Border closed as tight as a drum, and pressed for a revision of the 1965 Immigration Laws, restricting immigration from Latin America. Ronald Reagan was an American Patriot.

    Is this why nations like China, which are economic powerhouses, struggle to continue to reduce their population overburden through bureaucratic caste systems and single child policies and have NO INTEREST in foreign immigrants (ditto, Korea, Japan and India)?
    Is it even /right/ to look at an institution of culture purely as a mongrel horde of competing economics of consumerism and production when our culture produced some of it’s greatest _THINKERS_ as well as monuments to physical achievement, long before we abandoned mercantilism as the conservation of resources to one people for the globalist values of ‘free trade’ as a license to print money and breed billions, while the resources last?
    Is this ‘progress’? at more than a materialistic level which our ancestors would be proud to say was a **step better** than the world which they knew?
    Numbers /=/ ‘optimism’, ‘hope’ or ‘change’. Numbers = thermodynamic entropy.
    1. Where no system can produce more workproduct than there is energy to provide it and ‘energy’ is not screaming hordes but physical resources.
    2. Where no systems’ efficiency in E->in WP->out can be greater than the EFFICIENCY LOSS process steps (useless makework jobs) inbetween.
    3. Where no system is anything but entropic as a function of becoming less and less efficient as there are fewer resources to convert E to WP with overall.
    This is the functional flaw of consumerist capitalism the world over. Because capital looks for more resources to exploit and larger consumption to make it go. While ignoring the reality that 14 billion (in 2100) screaming mouths with 85 average IQ will NOT be smarter than 560 million 120 IQ thinkers whose system of living they crush with sheer demand.
    If a system produces less excess to feed and make happy more people, less can be dedicated to innovation for it’s own sake as massive social welfare mechanisms instead absorb huge amounts of resources as the bureaucratic inertia of intent in maintaining them (rice bowl theory).
    And for what? When the power mad sign the last contract for the last bit of oil or bauxite or titanium. When the last war is fought by those who didn’t like the way negotiations turned out. What does invading to invite massive replacement populations to our own protected, K-Breeding, terrain isolate, do to further the advance of humanity?
    ONE culture on this planet has succeeded beyond all others. Because we are NOT like them. Not in the ways which CAN be measured as ‘social variables’: our laws, our technology, our art our, our mathematics, our philosophy.
    NONE of which submitted to a notion that optimism died when those who were not us, didn’t cross oceans, continets or The Deep of space. Didn’t fight wars to prove moral rights and establish for ONE racial group, as subspecies of man, the privileges of industrial…everything.
    Those who put quantity over quality as the R-Breeding strategy of squatting to own will create a society in a new environment that reflects that of their old. In Mayfield you see Mexico City.
    This is the truth of life. It is reflected in all the history of paleoanthropology: that there have always been multiple ‘races’ of hominids living in various Darwinian terrain isolates until fundamental environmental change or migrating competition wiped them out with a superior genetic algorithm, more suited to the world they lived in as opposed to the Savannah Principled legacy they inherited from their parent’s parents genome.
    There are no Missing Links because we have always been here, from the start, but there are many which have had their evolutionary maximum and faded away.
    And for the first time, we are facing a condition whereby ONE subspecies of mankind can either take the next leap forward and let the evolutionary cards fall where they may for the rest. Or so destroy our own social environment that we make it easier for entropy to create a fallback condition.
    For 85 IQs to rule in a world where 120 IQs have given away the edge of our own social system’s optimized conditions, to better enable our own replacement.
    This is not ‘optimism’. Where our race cannot be murdered without our willed submission, we can still commit genetic and cultural suicide.

Not only should we save it, if you have a blog, then also run with it. He was executed because of fraudulent possession of a British passport and “therefore” a traitor. Incidentally, I am not an admirer of this defector from British Union, whose book “Twilight over England”, which I have from Revilo Oliver’s library, is surprisingly feeble even as an “antisemitic” polemic. He had courage but did not help the cause of peace before or during the war. How many people in post-WW2 “England” are here on fraudulent passports?!

There is emerging a discreet view among scientists that the evolution of Homo erectus was regionally “patchy” and this will have implications for Sapiens.

    Whether American Indians constitute a different race or not depends on how you define race. Physically, there aren’t that many differences between Mongoloids and “Amerindianoids” or, to use Baker’s term, “Indianids.” Genetically speaking, they’re very different from each other. If we define race genetically, Indianids would constitute a separate race.

    • We would also have to speak about what the various American Indian tribes were a few hundred years ago, which would might require digging of bones that we cannot legally do. If we’re talking about what the various American Indian tribes are today, they’ve been genetically destroyed by miscegenation with whites. I don’t even need to do anything clever or technical to say that; I just have to look at the fact that the tribes mostly count a person as a tribe member if they had as little as one tribe member 5 generations back. That’s 3% Indian. So, if a person is 97% European, but 3% Indian, he could claim to be an Indian if he wanted but most people looking at him would consider him white. That’s where genetically the Indians are today: one foot in the grave, desperate to call outsiders Indians.

      I thought that it was widely held that American Indians were descendants of Asians who crossed over the Bering Strait the last time it was frozen, 10 or 15 thousand years ago, and then interbred with Central American Indians, who came from who knows where.

        On the Lusitania:

        Britain wanted to draw the US into the war on its side. Lord of the Admiralty Winston Churchill and Wilson’s Marxist advisor, Edward Mandell House, believed that if the Germans can be baited into sinking a British ship with Americans on board, the US will be drawn into the war. Unknown to its passengers, the luxury liner Lusitania is being used to ship war munitions to England.

        Taking off from New York, Lusitania is loaded with 600 tons of explosives, 6 million pounds of ammunition, 1,200 cases of shrapnel shells, and – American passengers. The German embassy in Washington, DC is aware of the materials being shipped on the Lusitania and tries to warn American travelers. German embassy officials attempt to place ads in major U.S. newspapers but are refused in most cases.

        As Lusitania approaches the Irish coast, it is ordered to reduce speed, and its military escort vessel, Juno, is withdrawn. Churchill knows that German U-Boats are in the vicinity.         As for conspiracy theories, I’m with Auric Goldfinger: “Mr Bond, they have a saying in Chicago: ‘Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. The third time it’s enemy action’.”

        I think we’re only debating the meaning of ‘aid’. I’m taking ‘aid’ in this context to be the gift of food, weapons etc from one state to another ie from the US to Britain. But as far as I’m aware Britain was buying this stuff from the US in cash and (maybe I’m being too nit-picky ;-)) thus it was not strictly aid.

        When the US joined in WW1, their main contribution was food and manpower. Ironically the US army on the western front was operating a range of French aircraft, artillery and tanks. Though whether they paid for these or this was French aid to the US, I don’t know. They did purchase large quantities of the British steel helmet though.

          The jew (esp. Kuhn-loeb, Schiff, etc) brought the US into WWI, against the will of most Americans, to defend the UK after Britain promised to get Palestine for the jew. Prior to that promise, most US ja were pro-German. They mostly hated Russia and didn’t want to be allied with russia, but anyway the continuation of the war brought about the jew’s USSR.

    It seems like the Corporate Interests that are represented by the Wall Street Journal, the Bush Family, and others have a fascination with Mexico mainly for financial reasons, like sweetheart trade deals like NAFTA. These groups want the United States to have only two classes – rich and poor – like Mexico does. If the Rich in this country don’t want to pay more taxes and the poor aren’t paying any taxes, just how much of the dwindling middle class can be squeezed anymore?

    Of course, to Corporate America, the obvious answer to all our financial woes is Comprehensive Immigration Reform

    The elites in this country have nothing in common with the members of the traditional american nation that prior to the 1965 immigration act was ovber 90% white. The only answer at this point is to push for a seperate Euopean American Nation on the North American Continent. This will become increasingly possivble as the dollar loses its reserve currency status and the economy collapses. The ensuing upheaval may present an opportunity for the country to seperate into smaller cohesive nation states based on ethnicity and language.       Except perhaps for Russia, most of your mentioned countries are within the international central banks control. The dollar is the central banks preferred choice of currency. The system almost collapsed in 2008 but due to massive manipulation it was resuscitated at international taxpayers’ expense. So, my point is that unless the central banks disappear the world will continue on at the present rate for some time.
      Of course in the mean time whites will increasing become a minority in Western countries. This is the wild card, the big unknown what whites will do to ensure survival.

    I disagree on one point, the people were our greatest asset. Despite the wealth of riches the continental US may offer, without a people capable of exploiting those riches the US would have remained a wilderness.

    Well, the latest “immigration reform” should answer your question. The massive low IQers for slave wages and more educated and trained people to hold down wages at those levels. It’s all for the elites. Just look at who is pushing hard for this “immigration reform”. It surely is not Main Street, the common man. They want closed borders and decreased immigration.
