Jerry Seinfeld on Diversity in Comedy: “Who Cares? Are You Making Us Laugh or Not?”

Jarett Wieselman, Buzzfeed, February 3, 2014

At the height of Seinfeld’s popularity, the NBC comedy was repeatedly accused of presenting an exclusively “white” view of its diverse New York City setting. During Jerry Seinfeld’s BuzzFeed Brews with CBS This Morning interview on Monday, BuzzFeed Business Editor Peter Lauria asked about the enduring criticism, which has carried over to his Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee web series. {snip}

“People think it’s the census or something,” Seinfeld said of the assertion that all pop culture should accurately reflect society. “This has gotta represent the actual pie chart of America? Who cares? Funny is the world that I live in. You’re funny, I’m interested. You’re not funny, I’m not interested. I have no interest in gender or race or anything like that.”

Seinfeld went on to say that approaching comedy through the lens of race or gender or sexuality are “anti-comedy.” “It’s more about PC nonsense than ‘Are you making us laugh or not?’” he said.

” the NBC comedy was repeatedly accused of presenting an exclusively “white” view”
    Actually, it was exclusively Jewish.

    • So CAL Snowman

Exactly. The White male, George Costanza, was portrayed as a bumbling fool and a complete zero with the ladies. The other White male, Cosmo Kramer, was shown to be a hipster doofus layabout that contributed nothing to society. The White female, Elaine Benes, is portrayed as basically a sex crazed slut who is focused solely on her career and never on a family of any sort. However Jerry Seinfeld is portrayed as a debonair ladies man and the only really successful one in the group. Jerry always has the nicest cars, the most money, and all the prestige.

I will say it was a funny show, I mean two gay Puerto Ricans beat up Kramer because he wouldn’t wear the AIDS ribbon during the AIDS walk. Hilarious.

      • Talltrees

Add to that, the ‘Soup Nazi.’

        • So CAL Snowman

          Good call.

        • benvad

I miss him. We need him to control the general population. Kind of like Saddam with a laddle.

        • dukem1

          “The Puffy Shirt.”

      • NeanderthalDNA

Well…Jerry WAS the star of the show, and despite his character’s profession, actually occupied the role of “straight man” in it.

It’s a time honored formula. In fact, his character, as well as the others, were intentionally portrayed as shallow and trivial and self centered…not always very likable people, as the final episode (where they all ended up in jail for cracking jokes as someone was victimized by a crime) drove home…

I always found it funny, still get some chuckles when I catch a re-run. And Michael Richards is one of my heroes as a result of his career ending meltdown…also one of the better physical comics of all time.

I find Jewish humor generally very funny – they are sharp verbally.

I haven’t seen a non-darky get away with so blatantly honest critique of PC crappola since maybe the lovely fork tongued Jewess, Sarah Silverman’s “blackface” episode from her show. Very funny…

Link to CC’s irritatingly commercial ridden videos…

Actually, they are not talking about the show Seinfeld, they are talking about his newer show “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” which is essentially Jerry Seinfeld and his comedian friends driving around in one of his classic automobiles, getting some coffee and shooting the breeze. It’s actually not a bad show and you can watch it on Youtube for free.

Anyways, good for him for pointing out the hypocrisy of the host who ALSO has a mostly white audience. Jewish or not, it’s important to see a well known celebrity like him break the party line and brush off political correctness like it was nonsense (which it is)

        • NeanderthalDNA

When only the jesters can tell the truth…

Yeah…I have newfound respect and admiration for Mr. Seinfeld. He seems to be tacking “Ben Stein” more and more as the wisdom of age sets in.

Thanks, Jews-with-sense, for saying what I cannot… I’ll not resent you for telling the Truth.

You will be remembered with gratitude and honored after the reckoning for your service to the White cause. Thanks for being White and making a stand.

        • So CAL Snowman

“At the height of Seinfeld’s popularity, the NBC comedy was repeatedly accused of presenting an exclusively “white” view of its diverse New York City setting.”

That opening sentence is clearly referring to the Seinfeld show of the 90s. The rest of the article discusses his new show.

      • Tim_in_Indiana

Wait a minute…you’re talking about this “white male” and that one, but the poster you’re responding to said the show was “exclusively Jewish.” So who’s right? And do you really think the average viewer is able to make the distinction between a “jew” and a “non-jew?”

        • So CAL Snowman

The poster said the VIEW of the show was Jewish i. e. how Jewish people perceive stupid White Americans.

      • obot

I think you’re overanalyzing it. He happened to be Jewish but never pushed that angle. Everyone on the show was shallow and neurotic.

    • sbuffalonative

Much like the writing staff of The Daily Show with Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz.

Mr. “Stewart” and his writers love to mock and ridicule Republicans for being too white and lacking women.

This is what his Emmy Award winning staff looked like in 2004:

      • William Krapek

Silly human wannabe. All these rules are only meant for you. Don’t you dare apply any of them to us!

        Grrr!

      • bigone4u

That picture highlights the gross, disgusting hypocrisy of the Jewish left better than anything I’ve ever seen. Excellent find by you.

      • capnmorgan5150

Stewart also likes to bitch about raising minimum wage, yet has tons of unpaid interns on his show.

    • benvad

The gang was his inner circle, upper west side jews

    • bigone4u

It’s amazing how many white persons are unable to distinguish between a Jewish mindset and a white mindset. The white mindset is more diverse and less focused on money and sex than is the Jewsish mindset.

    • Tim_in_Indiana

So what? The average viewer didn’t see it that way. The average viewer never thought to himself, “Okay, this guy’s white. this guy’s jewish, etc.” To the average viewer, “jewish” is a religion, not a race, and they couldn’t tell a jew from a non-jew if their life depended on it. So what’s your point?

  • Herman

What percentage of black “comedians” make whites the butt of their jokes?
I don’t know but I know no white comedians make blacks the foil.

    • SaggyGenes

In recent years, black comedians have been the only people allowed to tell the truth about blacks without getting in trouble. Some of them—Chappelle, Rock—have toned down their acts when they realized whites were laughing hardest.

      • benvad

I won’t give them the satisfaction or my money. Blacks just ridicule whites and yak about racism, what the hell is so funny about that?

        • Druid

Race is the first thing blacks think about in the morning and the last thing they think about at night. Must be real dreary up in their heads.

          • benvad

Dreary? I think it’s more along the lines of a retarded 9 year old with the “Angry Birds” theme on a perpetual audio reel in their noggins. Oh! Almost forgot, also with an overcharged sex drive with zero responsibility.

          • David Ashton

            Don’t you mean “sex” ?

(This “joke” is illegal in England, the mother of the free.)

      • So CAL Snowman

Chapelle got kicked out of the club for telling the truth. He lost his show and his sanity.

      • NeanderthalDNA

The Chris Rock show was a hoot. Terry Crews (president Camacho from idiocracy) has a great sense of comedy too.

Here’s one of my favorite Chris Rock moments…

        “One rib”

        http://www[dot]youtube[dot]com/watch?v=KNQRqAoT-2c

      • Lagerstrom

I don’t particularly like comedy in general, I’m tired of people that try to be funny. Speaking of Chapelle, I saw some pretty funny racially charged material on the TV from him about ten years ago. But it’s all bloody pointless anyway.

  • Truthseeker

Humor is subjective. Black comedians have a mostly black audience, because that’s the crowd that best relates to their humor. If a black comedian started a show like the one Jerry Seinfeld has, I’ll bet he’d have mostly black comedians on, because that’d be the kind of humor he understood best. Jerry Seinfeld is who he is. What’s the big deal if white/Jewish humor is the kind he finds most funny?

  • Puggg

    That’s right. Who cares.

Because Seinfeld never made me laugh.

    • Garrett Brown

He isn’t funny at all. Never understood the hype for his stand up. His show was hilarious however. Definitely a better writer/actor than a stand up comedian.

      • So CAL Snowman

“Like, when you go to see the doctor, you don’t see the actual doctor first. You must wait in the waiting room. There’s no chance of not waiting.
That’s the name of the room. The doctors are all back there…
“We can’t take them now, we’ve already got this room.” You sit there, you pretend you’re reading the little magazine, you’re actually looking at the other people.

        “I wonder what he’s got.”
        “That guy is a goner.”

Then they call you… You get very excited when they call you ’cause you think now you’re gonna see the doctor. But you’re not. Now you’re going into the next, smaller, waiting room. Now you don’t even have your magazine. Now you got your pants around your ankles, you’re sitting on that butcher paper they pulled out over the table…Sometimes I bring a pickle with me and I put it next to me right there on the table……in case the doctor wants to fold the whole thing up for a to-go order.

“Get your pants off and get in there and I will tell you what I think.”
Doctors always want your pants off.
“Take your pants off. The doctor would like to see you with no pants.”
        “Just get them off.”
“- It’s my head.” “- I said, take your pants off.”
But I hate the extra wait, so I start screwing around with some of his stuff.
“Maybe I’ll turn that thing up a little bit.”
        “Whatever the hell that does.”
Take all the tongue depressors out, lick’em all, put’em all back in.
I, too, can play at this waiting game.
Just once I would like to say to the doctor:
“You know what? I’m not ready for you yet.”
“Why don’t you go back in your little office and I’ll be in in a minute.”
        “And get YOUR pants off.”
        “Then we’ll see what’s what.”

        • Garrett Brown

See, that isn’t funny what so ever. Maybe if acted out physically (thus his tv show as example) but if he said that during a comedic routine I wouldn’t laugh at all.

          • Talltrees

            I’m in stitches.

          • Garrett Brown

            Simple minds are easily entertained.

Although mean can be very funny…

I don’t really care about people’s feelings unless its the love of my life or something. Such thoughts are for weak people.

          • NeanderthalDNA

            Brutal!

I’ve never really liked especially mean spirited humor, though, like cracking on old people and such. But then I do love a good mean spirited negro joke after all the garbage White hating black comics get away with that would end a White comic’s career…

          • Garrett Brown

I wasn’t talking about comedy lol

          • NeanderthalDNA

I always preferred Jerry’s sitcom to his stand up work. I don’t like most stand-up, though.

I thought his genius was in the characters and the way he wove stand up lines into credible dialogue.

          • Garrett Brown

Not a fan of stand up either. I like comedy films and stupid humor. YouTube poops are one of my favorite sources of entertainment.

          • Talltrees

Responding to your comment about simple minds which I think was deleted. I like to think that sometimes resting our brains, becoming silly and simple, is good for us. Peter Sellers is also great; although he wasn’t stand-up. His battle with the vacuum cleaner was too much. Jerry Lewis conducting a make believe orchestra. Much of excellent humor is in the presentation.

          • NeanderthalDNA

Timing and delivery are almost everything. Takes a sharp mind to do it right.

Here is a question: would Groucho Marx have been funny if he had not been obviously of the “Mosaic Persuasion”?

            What does Abe Foxman think?

          • Talltrees

Groucho Marx was before my time. What I have seen of him on reruns didn’t impress me as being particularly funny. He used a lot
of quips such as ” I intend to live a long life, or die trying.” “I was married by a judge. I should have asked for a jury.” Certainly, not cause for rolling in the aisle laughter like the Three Stooges dog car wash and those I previously mentioned.

Therefore; I have no idea what Foxman would say. Would he have anything good to say about anyone not a lefty Communist?

What do you think he’d say?

          • David Ashton

            AmRen threads are aunt-eye-samidick?

          • Talltrees

            You lost me David. “aunt-eye-samidick?”

          • David Ashton

Phonetic – UK & US pronunciation differs.

          • Talltrees

            Got it.

          • Talltrees

Someone on the net’s user name is “samidick.” We’d pronounce it as “sammy dick.”

A bit confused, I was, when I Googled samidick and found someone using it. Therefore, I wondered what in the world were you talking about.

          Perfect example of Seinfeld comedy.

        • Talltrees

          Perfect example of Seinfeld comedy.

      • Talltrees

I think he is a comedic genius (sorry, for the word genius), but he sees humor in things most people don’t think about. He could make a chair funny causing people to view things in different ways than they ordinarily would.

Never missed a Seinfeld show. The mix of personalities made it work.

Don’t think they intentionally were trying to represent stereotypical Jews or Europeans. Writers and cast created something new using American culture as the backdrop. And, it was hilarious.

        • Garrett Brown

The show was fantastic. I went to his stand up at the civic center with my sister and brother in law two years ago, only chuckled at a few jokes. He’s more suited for writing.

      • Nathanwartooth

I would agree with this. I’ve even seen his standup in person and I didn’t think it was all that great.

But I really loved the show. Larry David was a genius writer for the show. He wrote some of my favorite seasons.

Jews would be a model minority if it wasn’t for so many of their elite hating whites.

  • Garrett Brown

Who cares, he’s still liberal. He devoted millions to Obama in both of his campaigns. It’s another “I want diversity, just not around me” fiasco.

    • NeanderthalDNA

Sure, but maybe some things are sinking in.
Most people still vote as their parents, but sometimes reality slaps in the face and people change.
      Believe me…
Besides…are the Republicans the party of White people…like Don Juan Beaner?

      • Garrett Brown

After the heat he’s getting today from his remarks, I’m sure he will evaluate what he said and make a public statement apologizing.

        • NeanderthalDNA

Maybe. Eventually some comic with enough money to live comfortably the rest of their life is going to figger out there’s a market for non-PC humor and say “to hell with it”.

          I’ll support whoever it is.

Humor is a very sharp edged sword…

          • Garrett Brown

I as well. Lets hope it happens soon.

  • David Ashton

I thought the Seinfield sitcoms on British TV extremely funny and miss them. The “master of my domain” sketch was a bit crude, but the disabled parking space episode and Kramer running after the plane were particularly hilarious. Also, George’s father’s treasured collection of useless TV program guides. Jerry looked a bit like Tony Blair, our “closet Zionist”.

Does this prove that I am a “closet anti-Semite” after all, Ms Stewball?

  • libertarian1234

Who cares if the Hollyweird crowd is pushing for more blacks in comedy.

Tens of millions of us don’t like them; we don’t watch them; and we won’t watch them no matter what.

Leave all that to the self-hating whites and the low-information types.

    • William Krapek

Yeah the only reason I watch TV and movies any more is because I have friends who still like them. This nonsense has reeeeallly gotten out of control.

Please! Just ONE show without some Negro sticking his nose in it! I won’t even be able to watch my beloved Downton Abbey anymore.

          • ncpride

Yeah, I suppose it would be for men. (grin) I love the movies they made from Janette Oke’s books. No ‘diversity’ in sight and good, clean shows. Their Holiday movies were great as well, although a little cheesy and predictable, but I’ll take that over the trash that’s on TV these days.

          • Talltrees

            Perry Mason isn’t girly.

      • David Ashton

Too late, my son. Band-leader boyfriend of a white aristocrat.

        • William Krapek

Yeah I knew this character was coming. I didn’t bother buying the season this time around. And most likely won’t anymore since he’ll probably get the girl pregnant and be around forever as the baby daddy.

          • David Ashton

No idea. I don’t watch it any longer myself. They are duty bound to pop black faces into everything, however anachronistic or geographically implausible. You get used to it, I suppose, when it is obvious tokenism or if the black actor is good and appropriate. What annoys me in ALL programming is the constant and often gratuitous black x white “love interest”, and the wailing and jumping “music”.

The deliberate maximal puffing of black singers, actors and others in our “quality” print-media, especially the Guardian, Independent and Observer is also gross, accompanied as it is by “whites” if they are homosexual personalities or writers of the Mosaic persuasion. The victims have become the totems. Worth adding is that their colour mags usually manage to having photos of starving or war-mutilated pictures of non-white children sandwiched between adverts for ultra-expensive perfumes, handbags, shoes, interior decoration, holidays and cuisine.

      • mckavitt

This comment borders on the irremedial sickening. Bigot.

    • mckavitt

    • Frank_DeScushin

Exactly. Why are people attacking the messenger of an attack against political correctness and forced diversity? [Note: That’s a rhetorical question. I know they are attacking Seinfeld because he is Jewish.]

      • Anna Tree

I agree with the three of you.

Jews are damned, when they are knocked out and it makes the news, some here say it’s because of jewish privilege (sounds like a kind of white privilege to me). When they talk against forced diversity, they brought it to us etc etc

I am glad to hear Mr. Seinfeld says the emperor has no clothes. I wish it was Mr. Taylor saying those things but in this Orwellian world, he cannot. Not yet. So I am glad to hear some of the things Mr. Taylor and others have been saying for years. More people say they are fed up, more Mr. Taylor’s position will become mainstream. I see soon Mr. Taylor being invited to speak up in the mainstream media at the speed things are going, things that bother people will suddenly be explained in logic and reason, racism/racialism will be undemonized, it can save lives and it is just natural, humans are tribal and races are an evolutionary construct.

I think some Americans, including liberals, women, Jews, atheists, Christians, intellectuals ARE waking up. We should be happy they join our ranks, not pointing the finger!

After all, two years ago I was not a racialist, I wasn’t anti-white just ignorant of the truth and full of wishful thinking and projection etc so why should I despise the newly awaken? It’s not yet too late. Racialism is a growing club and its door is not closed – not yet). One more in our camp means one less in the diversity camp, i.e. consciously or not: the enemy camp.

        • NeanderthalDNA

Right on, mademoiselle. I’d try to explain the humor to some here but…

      • NeanderthalDNA

Yup. I couldn’t have said it better (what you said and what Jerry said).

    • Steven Bannister

I agree, when a comedian like Seinfeld (and a Jewish comedian at that) publicly dismisses political correctness that is a GOOD thing, a healthy thing because it emboldens others to stop being afraid. Next time someone is accused of being “too white” they will think “Well Jerry Seinfeld isn’t afraid of being called too white, so I won’t be afraid either!”

Although I am well aware of the corrosive effect the Jewish elite have had on our culture, I’ve never felt that Jerry Seinfeld was one of the bad guys. He might be a liberal in his personal life, but he never seemed to contribute to the degradation of our culture, his jokes were always clean and lacked any kind of spite. I like him.

      • NeanderthalDNA

Yeah, amen. I don’t want to get too creepily “Jewaphile” but remember the dentist that converted to Judaism to be able to crack Jewish jokes?

    anything like that.”

I want to see Mr. Seinfeld say this to Mr. Sharpton.

    • Joe blow

I think Sharpton is the funniest thing on TV. His head seems to be getting bigger, and his body smaller; and he looks like he might be a candidate for tethering and being pulled along in the Macy’s Parade.

      • sbuffalonative

And the current style of tight-fitting men’s suits only adds to the comic affect.

Hollywood is one big Jewish employment agency and Seinfeld is just one of the well connected ones.

Notice all the whiners who complain about the evil 1% rich people never complain about Hollywood celebrities.

    • NoMosqueHere

The entire cast of Seinfeld is jewish: Jerry, Kramer, George, and Elaine (throw in Neuman too). But I don’t think they got their jobs bc they were jewish; they got them bc they connected with a mass audience, which is what american tv is all about.

      • Joe blow

How about the last four Fed Chairmen? Or a third of the Supreme Court? Coincidence, I guess.

        • NoMosqueHere

and what is the coincidence exactly? Two thirds of the supreme court is catholic — they took our protestant jobs dammit. lol.

      • sbuffalonative

Michael Richards (Kramer) isn’t Jewish although many people seemed to believe he was which led to speculation that he was pretending to be to get jobs in the business.

        • Anna Tree

Seinfeld stood by Kramer when this one was vilified as a racist and what not.

So it seems it’s at least the second time that Seinfeld is not politically correct and stands up against anti-white/anti-racist accusations. We need more like him.

        • Garrett Brown

Her show was pretty hilarious at times.

  • Funruffian

I was never a Seinfeld fan, but my brother was a devoted Seinfeld viewer. His brand of humor did require a more cerebral process than most of the sitcoms of his era, but I barely watched his program. His humor was rooted in humiliating those who took themselves too seriously. I am sure Seinfeld thinks he is the funniest guy in the world, because he is very smug. His show was very well written considering he didn’t have to act and just played off of his goofy friends. That’s not hard. It’s easy, but ingenious.
But having said that, I would never trust his word in dictating to me what is funny and what is not.

    • r j p

Seinfeld got really old, really quick.
      .
The day I knew I was not like the other “kids” was the day I turned on “The Dennis Miller Show” in the bar I worked at. None of the patrons understood anything he said and made me change the channel.

  • bigone4u

If a white person (say Paula Deen) were to say what Seinfeld said, they would be under intense attack by the entire leftist establishment. But tribal members are easily forgiven their sins, so his life will not be ruined and he will stay employed. Them’s the facts of life, folks.

    • IstvanIN

Paula Deen’s big mistake was to not turn around and say “what would you say if some black guy robbed you? Stay for tea?”. She should have never apologized and never groveled.

    • MBlanc46

And Paula committed the unforgivable sin. She used The Word. Seinfeld’s old sidekick used The Word and is still on jankers.

      • Anna Tree

Seinfeld stood by Kramer when he was crucified. It’s at least the second time that Seinfeld goes against pc/anti-white/anti-racist accusations. We need more like him.

It was a pity that Paula backed. She has the money and whites stood up with her: she should have stand up against the shark frenzy attacks.

The tide is turning, we need only a few verbal celebrities to not back up. Then beside more and more white awaking, more and more whites will be empowered to at last defend themselves from the white genocide they are victims of and do something to resist, survive and prosper in a renew white civilization in countries back to being white.

  • Spartacus

I liked Seinfeld, to be honest, despite it having an all-juden cast. They made fun of jews a lot, like Jerry’s uncle saying everyone is “anti-semitic” ….

    • Kenner

I watched a couple of episodes of Larry David’s ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’.
It looked like something Hitler would’ve produced.

      • The Final Solution

Curb Your Enthusiasm is seriously gut-busting stuff. They are always making fun of Jews. Love the one where Funkhauser thinks he’s a Jew and they go to the Palestinian restaurant and he’s like “I guess I can eat at this anti-semitic $#!thole”.

      • NoMosqueHere

Is Hitler working in Hollywood? I thought he was in Argentina.

    • NeanderthalDNA

Sarah Silverman is a very funny fork tongued Jewess. Check out my links, above to her “blackface” episode…

      • shmo123

She’s pretty on the outside, but ugly as hell on the inside.

        • NeanderthalDNA

There is a certain mean spiritedness to some of her material, I’ll admit, which has turned me off from time to time.

I don’t know if you are joking or not. What if you find out you have some distant Jewish family?
You want to kill only the Jews or also all the non-whites?

(Yeah sorry, I still have to answer you in the other thread)

    “No blacks for you.”
    (Soup Nazi)

  • Jim Barlow

Exactly. Like ‘Big Momma’s House’ or anything by Tyler Perry. I overheard one of my co-workers watching one of these on their computer – such belligerent rubbish.

  • notsam

Google something called Splitsider…”David Alan Grier was also amongst the actors considered to play George Costanza. While Grier is a talented and funny performer, George is such a despicable character that having the only African-American actor in the cast play him would have been a questionable choice.”

    • Fathercoughlin

Grier’s father was a black psychiatrist, and he wrote a legendary civil rights book called “Black Rage”. (Blacks are violent because of their frustration at their treatment by…guess who?) A hugely influential piece of garbage. His son is the opposite, a wacky funny black guy.

  • The Final Solution

He doesn’t grovel and apologize because he’s a Jew. He can get away with saying such things. Seinfeld humor was based on a lot of stereotypes. Curb Your Enthusiasm even more so. Anyone see the season Larry David married some black lady and her whole family just invite themselves into his house? They were portrayed exactly as they are – lazy freeloading loud-mouthed grifters.

    • NeanderthalDNA

Or the one where he was so nervously apologetic and fawning over the blacks…and kept insulting them more and more?

Very good portrayal of the self bashing liblefty White, Jew or non-Jew.

  • Extropico

I enjoyed Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Watching that video, one can really see Jerry struggling to find the words to defend himself in an honest manner. Jerry, the words you’re looking for are “freedom of association.” You could also say you are opposed to ethnic cleansing by all those new immigrants.

Jerry is too smart to mean what he actually said.

  • OhWow

At least it’s refreshing to see a mainstream actor blast someone for even questioning the diversity of a show.

I still have not gotten a straight answer why white males aren’t allowed to use affirmative action in the NBA.

    • Talltrees

That’s why we need a White Civil liberties organization.

  • IstvanIN

I have only seen a few Seinfelds. The show annoyed me because it seemed to me to be about a few whiney NY Jews, something I can not relate to. To each his own. I agree with his basic statement, if you are good at your craft does it matter the race or sex? Not if we are truly a meritocracy. And if we weren’t so diversified race wouldn’t matter at all because we would all be white.

    • NoMosqueHere

This forum is sort of the white Seinfeld. A few (but unfunny) whiny whites complaining about how the jews are ruining their lives.

      • Budd Smith

Yes, we should ignore any obvious bias and keep quiet. Unless of course we want to Celebrate Diversity.

  • Ella

He’s a comedian and doesn’t want to ruin his acts with political correctness. I presume you lose the edge and humour if you get too political correct and worried about offending others.

  • Evette Coutier

Speaking of non-PC comedy. Why did Hitler commit suicide? The Jews sent him the gas Bill.

    • MBlanc46

      Sheesh.

  • De Doc

He’s right and the naysayers are just angry because he realizes that comedic talent is not about representing diversity. The negative press is pure PC BS! I loved the Seinfeld series and one memorable episode, “The Contest”, made light of the hyper PC attitudes, when Jerry and George were mistakenly outed as gays.

    • DelmarJackson

….Not that there is anything WRONG with that!
      LOL

Something like 50% of successful comedians are Jewish. Either they are a naturally funny people, or somebody is playing favorites.

    • NeanderthalDNA

      The high verbal IQ helps.

I always liked students of mine who evinced real humor. Sign of intelligence, an appreciation of irony and the absurd, you know. Tried to give them a little stage as a reward if they didn’t disrupt too much, tried not to laugh too much myself…

I was not always successful, but they generally loved me for it.

    • Kenner

Without Comedy Central, I would have never known how many truly untalented, unfunny Jews exist. Thank you, Comedy Central, for demolishing a stereotype!

    • M.

Jews are naturally good with humor in general and sarcasm in particular, that’s well-known.

      • David Ashton

There is an element of hypochrondia as well. They have great insight into their own foibles, such as maternal dominance, but politically speaking are somewhat “autistic”. “Anti-semitism” is always and everywhere exclusively the fault of everyone else.

    • DelmarJackson

      Both. LOL

but in this case, I don’t care, funny is funny. Chris Rock, kat Williams, the late Bernie mack, Sinbad, and Eddie Murphy make me laugh as much as Seinfeld, Jim Gaffigan,Bill Murray ,Ellen DeGeneres, Rachel Bloom, Stephnie weir, or Daniel Tosh.

The only comedy problem I see is people will sit and laugh for two hours but as soon as the comic touches one of their sacred cows they want to get up and leave and call the comic names.

The idea Seinfeld should have had more non whites on his show is conteptous. A better question would be to ask why Daniel Tosh never truly ridicules jews and gays in his material the way he does every other ethnic or social group. But I love Tosh- he is pretty fearless for a white comic.
      .
I will always respect Seinfeld for the way he stood up for Michael Richards. Kramer was never a racist, he was a bad stand up comic, ( but is a genius at physical comedy, try watching Seinfeld with the sound off and watch Kramer) and he responded to some hecklers who hurt him while he was performing very poorly on stage and said things back to them that he thought would hurt them back. There is absolutely no record of Kramer ever behaving in any racist way in his personal life or in his comedy. He got lynched. it was nice to see s Seinfeld try and stand up for the guy.

Thanks to massive immigration, white people have gone from about 90% of the population to about 64? percent. soon we will be less than 50% I say we don’t have to do anymore for anybody except to work to end illegal immigration and reduce legal immigration. Everything else is a distraction.

    • Budd Smith

LOL, I’d never pick then as a naturally funny people.

      • shmo123

It’s funny isn’t it, but I agree. Even though there are so many Jewish comedians, a majority of them (pick your own number) seem to have no sense of humor whatsoever–even the ones writing the jokes. For example, when have you ever seen a picture of Woody Allen laughing or smiling?

  • antiquesunlight

Go Jerry. Glad to see a high profile celebrity with some guts.

“Let’s be rational and scientific here please. How would IQ be inherited on one side of the brain?”

Well, no, I’m not a geneticist nor a scientist, but my understanding of the evolutionary process is that all sorts of things are possible, the product being that which best adapts to its environment. If an environment encourages a certain trait, that trait may under the proper circumstances arise and get passed on to offspring. The professions and occupations Ashkenazi Jews were limited to in old Europe (banking, law) might have encouraged high verbal IQ. But then yes, there have also been many accomplished Jewish physicians and scientists, so…perhaps you have some points.

” Any IQ tester is going to tell you this, but you’re too invested and obstinate to reckon with reality. You’re like the liberals. IQ can’t be inherited on one side,”

Well how can one argue with that? Any documentation?

    “The truth is Neanderwit”

    How old are you?

“Sorry to disappoint you but you need to face facts.”
Based on your language use and grammatical errors I assure you nothing in the body of your post disappointed me in regard to the opening salvo. If you want to have a debate, go to the Wikipedia entry on “logical fallacies” and study up a little.
The most important things I’ve learned from your post are…
    1. You are not as smart as you think you are.
    2. You don’t like the Jews.
    3. You have the sense of humor of an angry adolescent stuck in the concrete objective stage of mental development.

How I miss CMT! Our cable provider apparently had a dispute with another company about pricing on particular stations, so we ended up losing several, including CMT to prevent our bill from being raised.

  • NeanderthalDNA

I’ve known some mighty fine folk from the Northeast in my time. Crusty, cold New Englanders that are hard to get to know, but once befriended are steadfast and loyal. Foul mouthed New Yorkers with a heart of gold, New Jersey rednecks, and even a few transplanted Jews.

Every so often, however, I’ve encountered what a xenophobic Southerner would refer to as an ill mannered, obnoxious, uncivil Yankee. Actually that’s a rather polite way to put it, but I’ll spare you the more forceful colloquialism. Worked for one years ago who made my life hell until I cursed her out and told her to leave me be or fire me.

I was a good worker and she let me be after that, worked for her until the IRS caught up with the foul tempered no-tax-paying bully. I’ve met a few others like her in my time, generally college students and an occaisional co-worker, and you know…

I can’t remember a single one of these unmannered northern nasties who was a Jew! In fact, the transplanted Jews I’ve known have often remarked on how civil and friendly the vast majority of Southern Christian Whites were to them compared to their Northern counterparts. Hmmm…

Manners and civility are sometimes seen by the unmannered and rude as a form of hypocrisy, one of the criticisms often leveled by these obnoxious Yankee types when ridiculing and badmouthing their hosts in the South. And they have a point. Such sweet “hypocrisy” is the grease that lubricates the wheels of a civil society, that prevents people with different beliefs and opinions from sinking to acrimonious argument and worse.

You have been very rude and uncivil to me, sir, and if I have insulted you it was only in response to your name calling and uncalled for verbal “cold cocking”.

If you wish to debate like a civilized White man, please behave like one, but if you insist on acting like an unmannered loudmouthed Yankee bully, I have nothing more to say to you, nothing nice, at least.

Again, not trying to reenact the Civil War, genuinely like the vast majority of good White folk from north of the Mason Dixon, my brothers and sisters in blood and culture, especially those who post here, but…

You are not one of them.

Have a nice day and learn some manners.

  • Anna Tree

Reisling, I like you, can differentiate between a Jew and a non-Jew, when the Jew is talking about something jewish or sees himself as a jew and therefor goes to the jewish temple and is surrounding by other jews, the jewish culture is obvious. And indeed for some, it’s more than talking and there are some ethnic facial traits you can recognize (I’m not talking about the big nose illustrated in the nazi literature, I don’t think it is so common).

But let’s talk about someone whose family is jewish or part jewish, but he doesn’t see himself as jewish anymore because he is an atheist or his family converted to another religion etc. He may even be/see himself as a white racialist (there are some like that in Amren).

Then, do you think you can still differentiate between that Christian/atheist with some Jews in his family and a Non-Jew? I cannot. European Jews, especially ashkanaze, are whites to me. And if they are white racialists, I think they are as a good white racialist as any (moreover that our numbers are so small, we should stay united, any white in our cause is a treasure).

That’s why it seems to me jewish is more a religion/culture than a race. The DNA should be the factor for a race, European Jews are no less white than Italians, some are just long ago converts and have Nordic DNA. I think that European Jews were Levantine whites, but now are a mix with Mediterraneans or Nordic.
I just learned that Scarlett Johansson is half Jewish (from Russia) and half Danish, she was a White to me one week ago, now that I know that she is half Jewish, is she not a White anymore? What do you think?

    • mckavitt

Bigotry. Quite dangerous, really, menacing. Black VERSUS Jewish?! Give it & me a break.

  • NeanderthalDNA

I’m a woman, and once called you a ‘good man’ in a previous incarnation on here.
    ——————-
Well thanks for telling me now. You don’t have any other current incarnations, do you? No sock puppetry?

Let me digest this while I masticate.

    • Reisling

I don’t engage in sock puppetry. Why not just talk to oneself? My multiple aliases are just ways to avoid being tracked by TPTB. And disqus seems to disconnect me frequently anyway, I don’t get it… One time I did throw out various names on one thread I think…but it was both sorta funny and also an attempt to promote an article I considered critical to the larger audience, not to in house readers. So perhaps I was guilty of astro-surfing (play on turf…) to encourage new participants. But there was no play acting, or fake consensus beyond that. And I only did it once I think… Is that sock puppetry?

I also dislike the personal drama that accrues. So that’s another factor. Some guy developed a bizarre infatuation with me on here, who was probably like 10 or 20 years younger than I. Go figure.

  • Anna Tree

Argh, I go working a few hours and a bunch of posts are deleted, including your response to me! Can someone tell me what I missed from you and Stein? Maybe in a way not to be censored again… (I am against censorship, I wish there was none here)

  • mckavitt

Good old anti-Semitism (in reality, anti-Jewishness, since Arabs are also Semites) raises its ugly head once again. Will it ever stop? Get a life, i implore you, for yourself & for the rest of humanity (notice i didn’t say inhumanity:).

  • mckavitt

If some of this isn’t anti-Semite brainwash (anti-Jewish, to be precise, since Arabs are also Semites), i don’t know what is. Thank goodness there are some defenders out there. I neither support nor abhor Seinfeld’s showing only White Jews, they are who he knows best. And he does make them hysterically funny, most often at their own cost. 🙂

  • mckavitt

“Your people” sound like right Southern bigots to me. Happy?

  • mckavitt

You have many good qualities. Being a Bigot (w a capital B) is not one of them.

  • mckavitt

I got the same Jew-hating impression. Why do we mention them in such contexts, otherwise? Bigotry, pure & simple.
