Miss World Axes Bikinis for Muslim Indonesia

France 24, June 5, 2013

Contestants at this year’s Miss World beauty pageant will not wear bikinis in the parade in a bid to avoid causing offence in Muslim-majority Indonesia, organisers confirmed Wednesday.

The 137 women taking part in the September contest will swap bikinis for more conservative attire, such as traditional sarongs, for the beach fashion section.

The contest is being held on the resort island of Bali, where foreign tourists flock in their millions and the beaches are packed with women sunbathing in skimpy swimwear.

But Miss World Organisation chairwoman Julia Morley insisted that none of the pageant’s contestants would wear a bikini.

“I don’t want to upset or get anyone in a situation where we are being disrespectful,” she told AFP from London.

“We treasure respect for all the countries that take part in the pageant,” she said, adding the final outfits had not yet been finalised.

Organisers are treading carefully after a number of music acts to recently visit Indonesia provoked controversy due to performers’ outfits.

Last year pop sensation Lady Gaga was forced to cancel her concert in Indonesia after Muslim hardliners threatened to burn down the venue and criticised her for only wearing “a bra and panties”.

Singer Beyonce and band The Pussycat Dolls were also asked to cover up before performing in the world’s most populous Muslim-majority nation.

The upcoming Miss World pageant, to be held in Bali and Bogor just outside Jakarta, has already stirred anger with the country’s top Muslim clerical body, the Indonesian Ulema Council, which has called for its cancellation.

Council cleric Muhyidin Djunaedi accused the event of “promoting hedonism, materialism and consumerism”, and said contestants were not positive role models for Muslim youth.

However, organisers insisted that the decision to axe bikinis was taken when the agreement was first struck to hold the event in Indonesia and that they had not changed their plans following complaints.

“We discussed the beach fashion issue last year with Miss World in London before we even agreed to host the event because we knew this would be sensitive in Indonesia,” said Nana Putra from media group MNC, the official broadcaster and local organiser.

  • Muslim men rape women in Sweden almost every day but that is ok. If they see a bikini the rapes will start.

    • borogirl54

It doesn’t matter what a woman wears, Muslim men still rape them anyway.

      • me

And their little girls, little boys, dogs, cats….hey, they can’t control themselves–even if you dress like you’re wearing a garment bag.

        • borogirl54

I have heard of women who wear the Muslim headscarf get harassed by men. So it does not surprise me at all.

    • moon

A Norwegian woman recently told me that Sweden, Denmark and Norway do deport many muslims who commit horrible sex crimes against the native women in Scandinavia. Sometimes, the criminals’ family hides the criminal and if that is the case, then the entire family gets deported.

But because of Dublin II, they are not deported back to their homeland where they can possibly face death, but instead, they are deported to the country that they went through before entering Scandinavia, which is often Greece, a nation that is already broke.

She told me that Denmark has been much more successful than Sweden and Norway when it comes to dealing with muslim immigrants and the incompatibility between the hosting country and their muslim immigrants, and Denmark also had muslims for much longer than Sweden and Norway have had.

  • Hunter Morrow

A Muslim beauty pageant should be held at the upholstery store.

  • David Ashton

Perhaps all Miss World contests in future should have each and every candidate from start to finish wearing the full black hejab. No “offence” then to Muslims whatever.

    • r j p

Then only white and asian women who speak competently would ever win …. and that would be racist. “Minorities” do not understand the ramifications of their actions …. which is why I say “Bring them on” as they will be available to us to be used against them.

  • IstvanIN

Why hold a beauty pageant in a Muslim country? Why would Muslim females participate?

I could see if the Muslim women were participating in a mustache twirling contest……..

    • snow

Well that is another very good option. If the muslims does not like some parts of the beauty pageant, they are welcome to let another country have the honour.

      • borogirl54

Miss World brings in too much money for Indonesia to say no.

    • Bossman

They need the money and the hordes of Islam want to promote themselves as normal and modern.

    • World_War_Me

      ROTFL! That was hilarious.

  • Stentorian_Commentator

I’m sorry, but I must register a complaint. When the headline includes the word “bikini”, there must be at least one picture that illustrates the concept in the most titillating manner possible.

    • World_War_Me

      Hehe

  • Easyrhino1

Why not also have a have a scotch tasting event with no actual alcohol served, just Coke and Pepsi.

  • ed

I axe for all the pretty girls to wear bikinis. They just call me a silly old man.

    I guess I’ll quit axing.

    • Bossman

If you are Black, then you’ll want them to be in thong. Axe???, you must be Black right?

  • Formerly_Known_as_Whiteplight

What a wise decision! What better way to promote their pageant; hold it in a country that can’t stand it! This is the arrogance of shooting oneself in the foot to spite the shoe.

    • me

Marxism knows no end to its stupidity….

  • Richard

Let me guess, the bikinis will be replaced with explosive vests. Slightly less revealing, but distinctly more Muslim.

    • IstvanIN

One piece explosive vest, would want the belly button to show.

  • bigone4u

I wish there was some group in the USA urging some women and men in speedos to cover up a bit. Black males leering at white women on beaches and at pools is a common sight, one that leads to trouble. Better yet, would be segregated beaches, but for now that won’t happen. As for muzzie males, they should follow the prophet and cover their eyes when a woman in Western dress is observed.

    • r j p

Black men don’t go to a beach to get a tan …..
….. they go specifically to oogle and harass white women.

      • snow

And if a white man, or the targeted white woman, says anything negative to the black men, then they will be in danger of being labeled racists or even serving jail time

      • Bossman

I’ve been on the beaches of Miami and Rio. I did not see many of them in Miami. In Brazil, there are lots of them and they do go to oogle. In Brazil they can see a lot more than they ever will see on a beach in the USA.

    • MBlanc46

I was going to respond to your first two sentences but you beat me to it with the third.

  • Well, the current Miss World, Wenxia Yu, 23 (5’10”), who was Miss China before that, doesn’t mind bikinis.
I work at an airport, and there is a running joke with my coworkers whenever we see an Asian girl who looks like this. We are correct at least 90% of the time in guessing if either her father, boyfriend, or husband is white.

    • potato78

      Funny.

      LOL

    • Dude

Surgery, skin whitening cream, photoshop, etc. Still doesn’t compare to the average Nordic valkyrie.

    • The__Bobster

She represents less than 1% of the Chinese female population…well less.

    • ed

      so they’re smart besides beautiful.

      • me

Have you ever dated an Asian woman, then looked at her in the morning? My guess is ‘no’.

    • Romulus

She obviously has some white dna in her.

    • White Mom in WDC

Wow. An Asian with hips. She does not look like an 11 year old boy

      • AutomaticSlim

        A silly comment to make.

Just because a girl might be petite does not mean she looks like a boy.

A lot of us prefer thinner girls.

For example, I find the Kate Moss types (from 20 years ago, anyway) more attractive than the Kate Upton types. Upton is too tall & too heavy.

        • White Mom in WDC

Dude you need to read my post again.

  • JohnEngelman

Sukarno was the dictator of Indonesia from 1945 to 1967. During a state visit to the Soviet Union the KGB took photos of Sukarno in bed with several Russian women. The KGB threatened to publish the photos unless Indonesia voted with the USSR in the UN.

Sukarno said, “You show those pictures to everyone in Indonesia. I want my people to know that their leader is strong.”

Muslim men are high on the double standard.

  • The__Bobster

Last year pop sensation Lady Gaga was forced to cancel her concert in Indonesia after Muslim hardliners threatened to burn down the venue and criticised her for only wearing “a bra and panties”.
    _________

I agree with them. A good singer doesn’t need to dress like a trollop or lip synch while camera humping with dancing doofuses.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Ga9Bs4fzSY

BTW, Judith Durham, suffered a brain hemmorhage in Melbourne, Australia. She is now in the Rehabilitation Unit at a hospital in Melbourne and has begun an active rehabilitation program. It’s reported that she is in excellent spirits and wanted to express her love and gratitude for the support from fans all over the world.

    • bigone4u

I rediscovered The Seekers about a year ago and fell in love with Judith Durham. Thanks for the info about her condition. Believe it or not, while making a career as a young singer, she wanted to find a good man and get married, but she thought she was too ugly. Well, she found her man and stayed with him till he died a decade or so ago. The Seekers music is what white culture is all about, beauty, romance, decency, everything good. Judith is everything to womanhood that the nasty Gaga is not.

      • Romulus

Gaga is a disgusting current incarnation of the 80’s pig Madonna. There nothing original about her. Her so called music is manufactured pop garbage. As is most of the genre in America. Yet still,so many people enrich pigs like her by buying her product.

        • r j p

The few of Gaga’s songs I have heard sound like remanufactured Madonna songs. Everything the same except the lyrics.

          • Romulus

Agreed. She should also keep her yap shut about politics and stick to caterwauling.

        • World_War_Me

Madonna’s music is good, imo. Of course, I disagree with her politics, but I’ve been a mega fan since age 7.

          • Romulus

True ,music taste is up to the listener. Insofar as pop goes, her first couple of albums cemented her fame. Then, like all the starlets that followed the social trends to their detriment, she went waaaaaayyyy off the deep end and started to do anything to stay relevant.

          • World_War_Me

I agree. Her politics definitely annoy me.

      • skara_brae

Couldn’t agree more bigone4u. Keith Potger is a good chap as well. Best wishes for Judith Durham. There’s a new world somewhere.

    • Xerxes22

Lady GaGa is just a Madonna wannabe. She imitates everything the old hag does.

Nothing like a hot babe in a blinged up burqa! I’m sure the viewership will be super high.

Just what is the Miss World beauty pageant? A third-rate version of the Miss Universe pageant?

    • moon

      Hahaha

    • Bossman

Maybe they are running out of money and the Muslim country of Indonesia has decided to pay for it by hosting it. Countries try to promote themselves by hosting international events but they need to come up with the money.

      • MBlanc46

There are certainly large quantities of money involved here.

  • mobilebay

Another concession to the Muslims. Why don’t they have their own beauty pagents and have all the contestants dress in Burques (sp)? The judges could then guess what they look like.

    • BT

They do: only it is for goats.

    • me

      Yup.

  • MikeS

…..”in a bid to avoid causing offence (sic) in Muslim-majority Indonesia”
    Good luck with that.

…..will swap bikinis for more conservative attire, such as contractor size garbage bags, bed sheets and beekeeping suits.

    • World_War_Me

      Did you say, garbage bags?

  • White Mom in WDC

Why would ANY event be held in a Muslim country?

God I hate globalism and diversity.

    • Rhialto

In a Muslim controlled area, I could grasp having a stoning competition or an explosion bee, but a beauty contest is ridiculous. It’s like having the Winter Olympics in Hawaii.

What were the event’s organizers thinking when the decided to stage the event in a Muslim area?

      • White Mom in WDC

They weren’t engaged in critical thought. This is typical if those afflicted with the mental illness called liberalism

  • cadmium

This is a case where even though Islamic culture does deserve to be condemned broadly speaking, it doesn’t mean that modern European society is on the right side of culture here.

And in cases like this, just like in their assessment that young western females dress like prostitutes, and that our culture is ridiculously hedonistic, Islam has it right.
    But so did we, once.

And by criticising muslims here, you’re actually criticising vintage white society, which ironically is the society so many conservatives/nationalists claim to admire.

the fact is, up until only decades ago, up until the counter-culture rev. that many white nationalists hate when it’s convenient, whites considered females prancing around in lingerie to be cheap and unacceptable, and socialising in the vicinity of water with non-partner males wearing the equivalent of lingerie or less, hardly respectable. and that’s putting it nicely. very, very nicely.

there is no practical reason for females to strip to the level they do to enjoy the beach, paddle in the water, Everybody knows that, and everybody knows the only purpose of the bikini is for overt public sexual display.
That’s why it has only become mainstream since female ”liberation” from class. And why year by year it continues to shrink even now. It is an icon of modern trash-culture.

I honesty don’t understand why more ”conservatives” don’t question what’s going on in dress-codes everywhere. I guess it’s because they’re scared of being called prudes.

But obviously every male knows a female in arm’s reach wearing next to nothing creates a powerful sexual force. That’s why ”swimsuit” magazines are used for soft-porn and masturbation material of a less distasteful brand. There are no swimsuits in these shoots. A swimsuit is what you see at the olympics. Just as there is no swimsuit competition at a modern beauty pageant. Females also know the level of provocation, which is why they buy ”real” lingerie to sexually arouse a lover. That was once a private event only. .

These days on a beach trip, a friend’s girlfriend/wife will strip off and drape herself before you in a fashion that would land you a black-eye if it happened in a loungeroom, and you would essentially have to go out of your way to offer her the basic modesty she fails to provide herself [overt your eyes], if you’re a straight male and don’t want to make that a sexual situation.

If a male went to pick up his wife or teen daughter at a party and she was draping/prancing around males stripped to panties and bra, arse cheeks jiggling out of a wedgie, he would drag them the hell out of there and have more than a few words, acknowledging the smutty reality of the situation. But if water is simply in view, it’s no longer sleazy we’re told.

The excessiveness of our beach culture is pretty obvious if you just consider this:

Males continue to wear shorts. And females now wear panties or less.

The fact civil males can control themselves from sexually assaulting females doesn’t change the sleaziness of these environments. I wish people would just be honest about it or do something about it. Either would be honest at least.

I would suggest at the point where we have a thriving pubic hair removal industry, where females have to remove copious pubic hair in order to wear public garments, where they are actually now shaving the top of their pubic line, so low are some of the panties, things might have gotten a tad excessive. But for most people, apparently not.

LIke I said, if you question it in this libertine era, even conservatives will attack you as some kind of outrageous prude

Yet recommending we RETURN to a white culture where young females wore at least a little more than underwear for water-culture socialising and thus beauty pageants, just to attempt a bare minimum of modesty, where females even just match males by wearing shorts or choose one-pieces or early two piece suits, is hardly Victorian and hardly islamic. But if you suggest this, modern Europeans will pretend it is. Perhaps ”medieval” will even enter the vocab. How feminist.

Basically, there would be no argument between most Europeans and the Indonesian positions here before our society became completely trashed and completely sexually preoccupied.

I’m all for criticising Islam, I do it more than anyone I know, but it should be done for the right reasons. Their sharia barbarity, marrying off children, cutting off clitoris’, overt hostility and jihad, and ninja suits, hijabs, brutal animal slaughtering, colonising our neighbourhoods, etc.

But what I hate lately is Europeans criticising muslims for values Westerners had themselves only decades ago. We’re at the point now where we’re defending the degenerate components of contemporary white society as if this is a noble cause.
So here we are defending a striptease/perve culture of young women socialising in lingerie and an entertainment culture which makes millionaires and role models out of mtv prostitutes like gaga, and apparently this is evidence of how advanced we are and how backward others are.

And as I said, the same things that are being promoted as advancement would have been rejected by OUR civilisation only a short time ago.

The problem is even ”conservatives” have lost complete perspective on what it means to run a civilisation which promotes true class and dignity. That’s how successful the destruction of tradition and value-systems has been.

How about we stop championing the low-grade developments in Western society in the same manner we champion the truly great elements.
The way we’re going it won’t be long before whites will be celebrating their bondage porn industry alongside the colonisation of Mars.

    • Snow

I would rather live in a society where young women, or young girls, can be respected and always feel safe regardless of what she is wearing,

than in a society where any woman who is not wearing a hijab deserves to be raped and stoned to death simply because her hair was exposed, or where women are constantly considered inferior to men simply because of the gender. That is one of the problems that Japan has. Its women might not have to be worried about being raped or stoned to death simply because her hair is exposed in public, but the Japanese women constantly experience all types of unfair treatments in that society.

I work as a customer service representative nowadays, and a few days ago, I had to meet a customer in the evening and after the appointment, I rode my bicycle down one of the most well-known streets in downtown Toronto for a couple of hours and I was amazed how I saw quite a few beautiful young women freely and normally walking around downtown Toronto all alone by themselves past 9PM in the evening.

      • Xanthippe2

I recall a study that showed that Japanese women who are housewives are actually far happier than American women who work. Can’t remember where though. Makes total sense. Same as American women were happier before the were supposedly “liberated.” A false term if there ever was one!

    • snow

But I agree with you, a woman fully and properly dressed is just as beautiful as a completely naked woman, or a woman in her bikini. They might be beautiful in different ways, but they sure can be equally beautiful.

    • bigone4u

A very long, thoughtful post you’ve written, cadmium. I’ll add that one theory is that feminists promote immodesty in women’s dress in order to control men by keeping men in a constant state of sexual excitement. Women are now proclaiming the right to go topless on city streets–the breast freedom movement I think it’s called. Why do that? To assert power over men–to say to men we don’t need you or care about what you think or how you feel. Anyway, you have written a nice indictment of the bikini culture and I agree with much of it.

      • Xanthippe2

I don’t really agree with you that it is true female wishes behind this. Or even that they are thinking of men that much. Of course you think they are thinking about you because you are thinking about them!

It is more like the modern degenerate female version of the little boy with the sling shot. They are doing it to be rebellious and to be considered “in” with their girl buddies who are doing the same thing.

Women are creatures of fashion in more ways than one. If “everyone” dresses in the manner that used to be called “respectable,” they will dress respectably; if “everyone” dresses like a slut, they will dress like sluts.

This comes first from the media and then is modeled by the “girlfriends” they want to impress. Seriously, sexually teasing men is not thought of as much as you think! Not that it doesn’t go on with a few women — and always has.

Actually, many women have to practice this behavior at home before they are comfortable doing it in public. No doubt some then find out the effect it has on men and think it is “fun.” Many others don’t like the sexual effect it has on men, especially if they are not “involved with” the man they are effecting. It makes them feel unsafe and uncomfortable. They still think they MUST do it though.

        • MBlanc46

I’ve think you’ve pretty much nailed it here, X. I can’t understand why Socrates stayed away from home so much.

          • Bossman

Socrates was gay and he liked to hang out at the Agora (marketplace) admiring all the pretty boys.

          • MBlanc46

His wife was Xanthippe, reputedly a shrew.

          • Xanthippe2

The idea that Socrates was queer is apocryphal. If you read Plato’s dialogues (which are great) you can see that Plato has dialogues in which Socrates debates with queers (making gentle fun of them), but there is nothing to indicate that Socrates was queer himself.

Actually this reason I picked this name is apocryphal too. It is just that Socrates’ allegedly said that he is good at debates because he is always debating with his wife: certainly implying bickering more than philosophical discussions, but still cute. Also Wikipedia (I know) says: “Plato’s portrayal of Xanthippe in the Phaedo suggests that she was nothing less than a devoted wife and mother; she is mentioned nowhere else in Plato.”

I like to debate and am a devoted wife and mother. (Of course some of you think there is no such thing. But that is obviously very bogus historically and even now.)

Perhaps a Greek scholar (someone knowing ancient Greek and familiar with the source material) will write in. A lot that is said about homosexuality in Greece is just queer propaganda.

          • MBlanc46

I know a little about the subject. Apparently there were “queer” roles in the ancient world, and that is not what’s going on in Plato. The Greeks had a practice is which mature men mentored young men in military and other matters. Apparently deep attachments were formed. But when the young man reached maturity he was certainly expected to marry. Ancient marriage did not carry all the emotional load that modern marriage does. Much of that was to come from relationships with (same-sex) friends. There are a number of passages in the Dialogues in which Socrates makes what could be taken as sexual remarks about young men. Perhaps they were. But Socrates’ intended role was as an intellectual, or even spiritual, mentor to young (aristocratic) men, an extension of, or elevation of, the military mentorship. Homosexual apologists have attempted to highjack the Greeks, but I believe that they have over-reached considerably.

          • Bossman

Yes the ancient Greeks tried to promote a ‘clean’ kind of homosexuality. That is why we have words like Platonic relationship. The favored relationship was that of an older man with a young boy who had not yet acquired a beard and hairy legs. I could go into details about this but the moderator at this forum might not like it.

          • It might not be that we have to delete it. It might be that the history is debatable. Are you thinking about that femoral act?

          • Bossman

Yes I’m referring to that. Many of my posts have been deleted and I don’t know why. I always try to use facts and sound logic and I try not to offend anyone. Thanks anyway for letting most of my posts get through.

    • Bossman

What is vintage white society? Greco-Roman culture was very sexually perverse and brutal. Homosexuality was rampant and also prostitution. Then came Christianity and the Dark Ages. The Dark Ages was a time of ignorance and superstition when nothing of any importance happened.

    • MBlanc46

“[Y]oung western females dress like prostitutes”.

This says much more about your psyche than about young western females.

      • Kalel Jorelson

One aspect of Western Decline all over North America and Europe (and even Latin America) is the effect that the alteration of marital and “domestic relations” law is having on people and their lifestyles. Throughout most of the 20th century, the increasing frequency of divorce and the issues involved in every divorce has come to mean that the institution of marriage is basically prostitution with fees arranged after the fact rather than before. In all “standard” divorce litigation, the sole real issue is who gets how much money, which is dispensed in accord to (essentially) sexual or sex-linked behavior.

If a woman has been a loyal and “stay at home mom”, she will get more money (absent a valid prenup) for adhering to “traditional” role models. If a loyal stay at home mom’s husband has been out “catting around” she will (probably) get even more money. These two sentences (and their inverse or reverse situations) cover almost all that goes on in divorce court.

So if the way “young western females dress” is related to their aspirations in mating/marriage, then yes, comparisons to prostitution are warranted, because modern marriage itself is sadly, but really and truly, not that different from prostitution.

As an aside, I think it’s hilarious that Gay men are so anxious to get married. They too can learn that modern marriage is the only kind of partnership where you are all but guaranteed to lose money. Gays probably won’t have significantly fewer children than most heterosexual (white) couples. And so, marriage for Gays will be just as aggravating and disappointing an experiment in “true love” as it is for well over 50% of all heterosexual couples.

In my personal view, professional prostitution, arguably, is a much more honest way to make money than professional marriage, but on the whole the wives who play the game right end up much much richer.

And so traditional conservative men (like myself) love the fantasy of marriage and the thought of having a woman all to themselves, so they risk the much higher “termination” costs of marriage over the freedom (and sharing, non-exclusiviity) that comes with patronizing prostitution.

        • MBlanc46

Mating has always been about males exchanging their command of resources for the female’s sexual and reproductive services. This is so among other species, as well. For example, female chimps copulate more often with males who share meat with them than with those who don’t. Whilst there are psychological states associated with mate selection, it’s long past time to give up the love ideology.

          • Kalel Jorelson

Then….are you agreeing with me or disagreeing that the boundary between marriage and prostitution is a thin one indeed? I take it you’re saying that there never was any line, whereas I was saying that there used to be a line, is that where we disagree? Seems to me that marriage was once (with or without love) a very special and unique kind of social contract, and one that had a lot of stability.

Prostitution is by definition about temporary relationships which are unstable. If the same mating behavior (that is, for example, the same kind of skimpy clothing) is used to attract both “Johns” and “Husbands”—then I think the point up above was that modern women are dressing “to please” potential “husbands” much in the manner that “prostitutes” USED to dress to attract potential short-term clients.

I guess at age 53 I’ve just come to the realization that when it came to women I was a hybridized cross between the Tin Woodman post-Dorothy and the Scarecrow pre-Dorothy—I had a heart but no brains at all and that guy handing out certificates was no genuine wizard—just a marriage court judge creating profit options to the next generation of divorce lawyers…

But on the serious side, I think we need to realize that the modern institution of marriage has failed us badly but failed our children worse. Whatever the nature of the “exchange” between individual men and women that creates marriage—the state has stepped in and urged (especially women) to find happiness outside of marriage. This is partly the economic will of the Brave New World—that there be no stable institutions to compete with the state, but also partly a way of degrading the white caucasian nations of the world for whom family continuity and individual freedom have always gone hand-in-hand. For the modern corporatocracy, you can be free so long as you depend on the state and major corporations for all the happiness you will ever have in live (if any).

          • MBlanc46

Marriage and prostitution are both species of exchanging material value for sexual access. They’re not the same thing, but they’re members of the same class, as lions are not tigers but they’re both cats. The love ideology depicts mating as a matter of deep emotion and not exchange. Deep emotion may arise from the exchange relationship, but it is a psychological reflection and not causative. This is the way it’s always been. However, in the past, women were compelled to enter into exchange with men because they could not support themselves and their offspring physically without male inputs. The emergence of machinery and the bureaucratic state have rendered men’s economic input much less necessary, hence the decline of permanent marriage. I expect that that development will continue and even accelerate.

Both positions are extreme & not realistic. Marriage was essentially about reproduction & economy, prostitution about pleasure (and economy). Modern, post-19th C marriage is irreversible- actually, it has roots in the 12th C troubadour culture & 17th C questioning of arranged marriages (Moliere etc.). One can just read great 19th C writers (George Eliot, Tolstoy, Hardy, Zola, Bronte sisters, Ibsen …) & see for themselves that love & marriage have become irrevocably intertwined. You just can’t go back to “good ole times”. As for white race- these beauty contests have conquered all races & areas (Japan, Asia, Africa,..) except a few Muslim pockets- for the time being.

American women are now mostly no fun, sexless feminists, women bankers who can’t dress in any sexy way, can’t get a male.

No wonder there are so many White gays!

The more Madonna and Lady Gaga are covered up the better! The part of them I would like covered up the most is the mouth (so they cannot talk or “sing”) but I do not care to see a single inch of their bodies either.

I realize that men just want to see female bodies and forget about the ideologies these “females” represent — but do try. Both are anything but pro-White.

I second your motion—wrap up Madonna and Lady Gaga like Egyptian Mummies…. “and the world, will be better for this….”

I live in a state where women from around the country and the world come on vacation to hang out in bikinis on the beach and enjoy fruity tropical beverages. Muslim countries in North Africa have some pretty nice beaches too but no one in their right mind wants to go on vacation to Algiers, Tunis or Cairo. I find suicide bombings and pressure cooker bombs at marathons a lot more offensive than women’s swimwear choices.

“Girls on the beaches commit a sin, when they don`t show yards and yards of skin. Preceding message to you has been, thru the courtesy of The Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce.” -Elvis in Girl Happy…. Elvis Ackbah!!

What’s the point of holding this in a Muslim country? That’s like holding a computer expo in the middle of Amish country! Is the Miss World competition a beauty competition or a contest to see how many Muslims they can make feel “included”?

    • George

It’s most probably to show how “we are all the same”…

I wonder if there is going to be a sheep slaughter event for the contestants …

Probably the first beauty pageant ever described was “the Judgment of Paris.” It led to the Trojan War and the total and complete destruction of Paris’ hometown. Beauty pageants in the modern world have been aimed at developing precisely those goals.

I find it difficult to disagree on any fundamental or Christian level with the Muslim cleric quoted above who accused “the event of “promoting hedonism, materialism and consumerism”, and said contestants were not positive role models for”—well, not for anybody, really.

The first modern American pageant was staged by Phineas Taylor (the infamous circus-master “PT”) Barnum in 1854, but his beauty contest was closed down by public protest. He substituted daguerreotypes for judging, a practice quickly adopted by newspapers. Newspapers held photo beauty contests for many decades: In 1880, the first “Bathing Beauty Pageant” took place as part of a summer festival to promote business in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

Contests became a regular part of summer beach life, with the most elaborate contests taking place in Atlantic City, New Jersey (“Fall Frolic”) and Galveston, Texas (“Splash Day”), where the events attracted women from many cities and towns. Atlantic City and Galveston were famous as early 20th Century gambling Meccas and otherwise “Sin Cities”—forerunners of Las Vegas, Miami, and New Orleans today.

Universal produced a newsreel of the Texas Centennial Celebration beauty pageant in 1935, which shows models attempting to fit into life-sized cutouts of the Centennial Committee’s concept of the “perfect figure.” According to Wikipedia, today in America, 250,000 contestants compete in beauty pageants,100,000 are under the age of 12.

I have attended a couple of these “Baby Beauty Pageants” in and around Los Angeles and they are the WORST kind of conditioning and training for consumerist materialism I can imagine. I frankly have very little regard for the parents who dress up toddlers and elementary school girls and try to imbue them with the values of these contests. It is a nightmarish torture to watch the emotional trauma of losing (even when losing means coming in second, third runner up….).

I would say that the Beauty Pageant and everything associated with it is part of the decadence of the White Caucasian race—and I apologize for saying so because I have some very dear friends who have been participants and winners in beauty pageants and the related field of “Cheerleading”…..and I have very deep regard for the mind and intellect of some of these women (at least one is a regular poster here on AmRen). But the Beauty Pageant as an institution is truly, truly, sadly, all about materialism and degeneracy. I cannot but think that such events benefit the Donald Trumps of the world and as such are part of our cultural disease, and one of our many weaknesses that are bringing us down.

We have to give credit where credit is due—the Muslim preacher quoted above DOES have a point….
