American Woman Gang-Raped and Beaten on Brazilian Transit Van

Simon Romero, New York Times, April 1, 2013

An American woman was raped by three men aboard a public van in a six-hour abduction over the weekend that began in the seaside district of Copacabana, the police said.

The attackers pummeled the woman’s face and tied up her male companion, a French citizen, then beat him with a metal bar as he witnessed the harrowing assault. The couple were forced to use bank cards to withdraw money from their accounts before the assailants finally freed them at a bus station on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro.

The assault stunned many in Brazil, especially as Rio tries to promote itself as a city on the mend and prepares to host the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympic Games.

Two men were arrested over the weekend, one of whom, the police said, confessed to the rape of the 21-year-old woman. The police said she had been in Brazil on a student visa. A third suspect was arrested on Monday night.

{snip}

The assault on the American woman here, police investigators said, began early Saturday, just after midnight, when the attackers forced other passengers out of the van, which picks up passengers along the street and can seat about a dozen people. The woman was raped by all three men, who took turns driving the vehicle, the police said. “It was a gang rape,” said Jayme da Costa Rosa Neto, a police official investigating the attack.

{snip}

The police said that the American victim had severe swelling around her nose, and that her companion, 23, had been hit in the area around one of his eyes. The woman left Brazil after registering the crime and undergoing preliminary medical treatment, while her companion remained here, where he is cooperating with the police, said Alexandre Braga, a senior police investigator with Rio’s special police unit for crimes involving tourists.

{snip}

After news of the arrests was broadcast Sunday night on Fantástico, a widely viewed news program on the Globo television network, other people here came forward to tell the police that they recognized the assailants in connection with other crimes, largely robberies, aboard what appeared to be the same transport van. One 21-year-old Brazilian student said she had similarly been held for an hour and raped by the same men on March 23, after boarding the van.

The revelation of that previous episode seemed to have shaken the public security forces here. The victim had quickly registered the case with the police, but the authorities were said to have slowly investigated the claim. Two police officials in charge of investigating the March 23 case were abruptly removed from their posts on Monday.

I cannot believe the utter stupidity of our young women, and what about their parents. “Mom, dad, I’m going to Brazil.” – “Oh have a good time honey.” I’ll bet anything they’re all shocked. Lord protect us from such people.

    • bigone4u

Excellent comment. Feminists teach young females that they are all powerful. Around emasculated young white males that is true. Around feral black and third world savages it’s a joke.

      • khesanh67-68

It’s almost to the point that many of our young people are so dumb, they should be put to sleep.

      • Pelagian

        Excellent comment

      • The__Bobster

They watch too many action films where 115-pound females can kick the asses of 250-lb masses of muscle. No, it doesn’t work that way in the real world, girlies.

        • Daisy

And you would have prevented this exactly how, tough guy?

          • bigone4u

The Bobster can answer since you addressed the question to him, but my answer would be to carry pepper spray, carry a knife, do as an old girlfriend of mine did and take karate lessons to a high level, carry a gun if legal, or just do what everyone needs to do, which is be careful to avoid dangerous situations. OR, get yourself a “tough guy” male companion.

          • Daisy

Unless he’s truly super human, or armed with a gun, no guy is of much use here, with three men attacking. It just sounds like an impossible situation and one to be avoided.

          • Morris LeChat

you are so very wrong. You know nothing about self defense.

          • Tim

I found a piece of two foot plumbing pipe with a 90 degree elbow on it. Kept it in a brown paper bag. People would wonder what a guy who looked like a tourist was doing with a piece of pipe and by the time they figured it out I was past them…

          • Daisy

I could out swim Bobster in at least 35 yards. I happen to take offense at the ridiculousness of the movies he makes fun of too, I just don’t see how taunting women when they get raped makes sense. I mention swimming because it’s an example of how a talented female could out do most males in a race longer than one lap, but swimming requires actual skill as it’s not as natural to the body. Sprinting does feature a greater difference between males and females as it uses more muscle and males have more in their upper bodies and are just built differently.

          • Formerly_Known_as_Whiteplight

Are you a practiced swimmer? I don’t think so. Men always make faster times. I trained a couple swimmers in Europe on their national team. Upper body strength is highly crucial in swimming. Look at the torsos and shoulders on Olympic swimmers and then look at their legs. Big hands and feet are good, too.

You’re just too on the defense of women as feminists in general. Feminism is the enemy of race conscious whites and white men in general. You are having a very hard time realizing that.

By chance, I found myself reading Pliny’s comments on Teutonic women during the first contacts of the Roman armies with the Germanic tribes. He wrote that the when the men began to wane and retreat from the Roman advance, the women appeared to threaten the men with swords and the men redoubled their efforts. When it became clear that the men were losing and they were going to loose the battle, the women killed their children and then themselves rather than be conquered and enslaved. Pliny wrote as if the women threatened the men, but it was more likely that they were aggressively encouraging them. I’ve read of things like this in pre-Christian Europe before. Among at least some of the Gauls, certain women trained select young men in the military arts. They were more easily trained because the women were also their lovers as part of the training. This provided a cultural bond that seemed to work very well. These are examples of the sort of women and culture where men and women were united, having vital roles, but for the survival of the tribe, not the advancement of women over men. This is the tragic and likely terminal flaw of modern feminism.

          • dhs

Thanks for the post! The behavior of the Germanic women is certainly unusual, not only for human females, but for all social primate females. The normal female behavior when the males fight, is to protect themselves from harm, and then have sex with the victors. The females do this whether the conflict is intragroup or intergroup.

This strategy is effective in promoting genetic survival for the females: Producing and raising offspring is a huge investment for human females (unitl very recently in evolutionary time). Therefore it will be in her genetic interest to have offspring fathered by dominant males. Perhaps this behaviour of the German women is an example of nurture over nature. It certainly does not describe the behavior of German gals after WWII, who were anxious to mate with Germany’s conquerors.

          • saxonsun

Remember that although we are primates, you men cannot make monkeys of us, try as you might. We actually have brains.

          • Oh really, never met one an I’M 93 yrs. old still looking!!

          • Daisy

I swam for the #1 ranked team in the US northeast regionals in high school so yes I was quite practiced to say the least. The fact is that unless a guy was a competitive swimmer I could beat most men in not too long a distance just by being far more efficient.

          • saxonsun

Interesting how you men go mad when a woman does exactly the same thing you do. Really now.

          • Milton Keeney

Daisy, I think the Bobster was highlighting the false sense of confidence and misplaced faith in humanity that so many western women seem to manifest. There is plenty that TWO people could have done in this situation, but not the kind of people that are stunned into inaction. If you are going to travel in mudville, you better be switched on, which kind of negates the whole idea of a vacation doesn’t it? Therein lies the moral of this story.

          • Tim

Mister I was more than “Switched on” I got to be completely High Voltage….Which kind of negated the whole point of the vacation. It was like going to prison. Made me appreciate home all the more though.

          • Morris LeChat

Oh let’s all just buy her a ticket to Atlanta, Detroit, or Chicago.

          • Morris LeChat

Uhhh, by not letting the 115 lb daughter go to brazil… now, was THAT so hard to figure out?

          • Formerly_Known_as_Whiteplight

Rio has the Carnival festival where people simulate and actually engage in sex in public. It’s already a dangerous place, especially for white women. If your daughter goes there, you’ve got to know she is flirting with sexual dangers of all sorts.

          • Formerly_Known_as_Whiteplight

Knowing not to get on those private buses for one.

          • Sherman_McCoy

The best way would have been by staying the hell out of Brazil.

That said, do you recall what happened to the Australian tourists trapped in the Superdome during Katrina? The men formed a circle around the women to protect them from the raping blacks. Though greatly outnumbered, their show of courage cowed the Bantus.

In this case, we weren’t there, and didn’t see how it went down. This young man was outnumbered by three to one, but I can’t help but imagine that, had both these young people had a more realistic view of blacks, they might have been able to give a better account of themselves fighting together.

The takeaway from this for me is:

            1) Stay away from dangerous places
            2) Third worlders have little respect for women
            3) In a fight, strength and weight count.
            4) Stay away from dangerous places

        • NM156

These types have the mindset of the stereotypical stupid liberal, the same kind that moves to dangerous geto neighborhoods in Chicago. Their plans are always met with laughter, but they remain unmoved. I knew one brain-dead pair who moved to a completely black neighborhood and found their furniture being moved out of the back of the house as they were moving through the front. The word schadenfreude is apt with regards to the reaction of those who laughed.

          • The Final Solution

Leftists refuse to acknowledge reality. My girlfriend wanted to travel to Chicago – I said no way it’s too dangerous. She said chances were more likely that nothing bad would happen. I said yeah mathematically that’s true. Then I sent her two articles, one about the 500+ murders they had last year and the other about the mother who lost all four of her children in four separate murders. I said it’s stupid to put yourself intentionally in danger and if something happens to you I’m not calling your folks.

          • NM156

Chicago’s fine. Your GF will never get near any neighborhood where the killing’s going on, unless she were looking to buy drugs. My neighborhood is entirely white, and like small-town residents, I don’t even lock my door when I’m at home or going out for a short time. The flash mobs made a comeback recently downtown, but the Mayor’s office will dispatch any follow-ups by overwhelming police force. My comment references idiots who move to terrible neighborhoods. Chicago is a huge city, with many good neighbirhoids. Watch Anthony Bourdain’s travel guides-two of them-on YouTube.

          • LaSantaHermandad

            NM156,
Isn’t the Mag Mile supposed to be a great place to visit in Chicago? Anthony Bourdain gets paid to show us Potemkin Villages. Palm Beach County Fl is one of the most attractive places in the country but is still very dangerous once one goes west of I-95.

Miami is also a beautiful city but the diversity is doing a great job of screwing it up.

          • PesachPatriot

Very good point about florida….i live in palm beach county…sure boca is nice and so is mar-a-lago but if you go into riviera beach or certain parts of lake worth or boynton beach after dark you are gambling with your life….In west palm beach the hood starts within 3 blocks of the very touristy cityplace district….european, canadian and some out of state tourists usually become crime victims because they don’t know which areas to avoid.

          • Chicago is the same way. You could think you are in a great area but if you wander three blocks out of the way you are in a place you shouldn’t be, especially in the “great areas”.

          • PesachPatriot

My wife grew up in Cleveland and went to chicago pretty often when she was younger….I always thought it would be neat to visit, see some of the Al Capone stuff and then drive down route 66 all the way to california, but after the body count of last year I don’t think I want to get too close. I love looking at the old pictures of vintage cars in front of wrigley field. Chicago deep dish pizza is pretty good too….NYC had kind of the same thing in the 90’s when gentrification started in harlem….two blocks from ten million dollar upper east side apartments were public housing projects, open air unlicensed pharmaceutical markets and gang shootouts.

          • Formerly_Known_as_Whiteplight

I wonder if you can grasp the irony in your comment? You seemed to idolize Al Capone, but miss the connection.

          • PesachPatriot

I don’t idolize him, but I do find him historically interesting as chicago’s most notorious citizen….he inspired fear while alive but I don’t think he’s been causing much of the trouble there lately….blame it on watching too many black and white mob movies as a teenager i guess.

          • Pelayo

Five hundred deaths were attributed directly or indirectly to Al Capone over his entire career as the mob boss. Chicago scored 800+ this year and counting. No comparison. Most of the people killed by the Capone crew needed to be. They were all scum.

          • NeanderthalDNA

Well, more than a few innocent bystanders got caught in drive by shootings, bombings, etc., during Capone’s time. The general level of massive corruption is not something I get all nostalgic about, however…

Can’t help but wonder what Capone’s reaction to flash mobs would be… Heck, back in the day the corrupt police department would have “dealt” with that problem FAR more effectively than we allow ourselves, and today we would read in Wiki or somewhere about the awful racist massacre that resulted…

I also live in PBC and it’s tragic that these animals not including the home grown Mau Mau are allowed in where they add their special brand of savagery with them. Even Del Ray beach PD is posting warnings to people who visit Atlantic Avenue. Nice place, great events, excellent restaurants and the in come the primitives to ” EFF” it up. I’ve totally had it with them.
In St. Lucy County a Policeman Gary Morales was shot to death by a Black whom he pulled over. The “suspect” who had an extensive record got out of his car and began shooting at Morales who never had a chance to get out of his cruiser. This beast is being charged with 2nd degree murder. Can anyone explain how he gets off with that charge which will probably include a plea bargain? What the Hell is going on in this country.

          • Defoe

PC has totally taken over and will prevail as long as WE condone it. No response to it is, in fact, condoning it. Where’s bernie Goetz when we need him??

          • Cid Campeador

There should be a National Holiday in honor of Bernie. We need the entire White population to become Bernies. Let’s be honest! Who wouldn’t like to have a shot (literally or figuratively) at the Carr Brothers, Letalvus Cobbins, LeMaricus Davidson and Attwater and Lovette who killed Eve Carson?

I could shoot all of them while eating a Sausage and Rapini sandwich.

          • MBlanc46

That’s just the pricey shopping district. The museums (except for Contemporary Art) are elsewhere, as are the entertainment districts.

          • NM156

Mag Mile is for shopping. Anthony Bordain visited hipster and professional neighborhoods. In the former, have eyes in the back of your head; in the latter, that won’t be necessary.

          • Nate Miller

Depends on the diversity! The olive/ brown complexioned beautiful Roman Catholic Cuban-Americans there who form a significant bulk of the population in south Florida are a highly refined, successful and well assimilated ethnic group, most of whom vote ardently for the Republican party. Then you have the wealthy geriatric population of retired Jews, who seem okay. Also, I don’t mind a small influx of wealthy well educated and well assimilated Asians ( Chinese, Indians, Japanese etc.)

However, the recent influx of Mexicans and Central American mestizos, low IQ Arabs/ muslims and even blacks does seem to screw the city up.

          • LaSantaHermandad

“The olive/ brown complexioned beautiful Roman Catholic Cuban-Americans

I agree with everything above. The home grown blacks are still the major problem as Blacks are everywhere. They can take the classic Norman Rockwell town and turn in into a Hell Hole within a year.
As for the beautiful Cuban -Americans you’re spot on; the lovely meteorologist Lisette Gonzalez of Miami’s CBS station is a classic example.

          • Chicago has pockets. North and Sedgwick is a good example. And the Cabrini Rowhouses still exist.

You probably live in the northwest area where I was looking at places before the economy tanked.

          • LaSantaHermandad

“Stay out of the West Side and most of the South Side and you’ll be as safe as in any big city.”

Isn’t it pathetic that this is the Zeitgeist when our Constitution is supposed to protect our rights to L,L and P of H? Instead our “leaders” pee on the constitution until the ink runs off and then rewrite it. Now it protects the right of the Mau Mau to take our Lives, gives them the Liberty to do anything that suits their fancy and the right to pursue their happiness that for them encompasses murder, rape, general mayhem and the degradation of the quality of life for everyone else; all with the consent by silence of the our Administration and our Dept. of (In)Justice.

          • MBlanc46

No constitution, no state, no police force will ever be able to protect citizens from all risks. There will always be the criminally inclined, and large agglomerations of people will provide opportunities for them. If you want to minimize your risk, move to a police state.

          • Nate Miller

Chicago is not as dangerous as it is made out to be. It still is a very white city, a more beautiful, western and very Americanized city as compared to crap holes like LA, Detroit, Newark/ Jersey city, Baltimore, Atlanta or even St. Louis. All she needs to do is avoid the south side. Chicago is one of America’s most beautiful yet under rated cities. There are plenty of conservatives around the suburbs, the down town is clean and majestic with some of the best buildings in our continent and above all is the global HQ for top fortune 500 companies like Boeing, McDonalds,Lockheed etc.

Chicago has a strong white Catholic Irish dominance, even the good Jewish mayor Rahm Emmanuel knows that in order to get policies passed, he has to mollycoddle and patronize the wealthiest & most powerful Catholic Irish families in town. Most of Chicago’s mayors were Irish. Most of the power brokers are Irish Catholics who are parishoners of the St. Patrick’s Church. St. Pat’s day is best celebrated in Chicago. The city also has a strong Polish connection.

To conclude, no other major metropolis in the United States can boast to have such a strong white Christian (Catholic) European influence as Chicago. In the “Big Apple”, it is Jewish dominance. In LA, Jews, Hispanics, Asians and Liberals who run the show.
In those aspects, Chicago takes the exception. The only bad thing about Chicago is the south side inner city areas, Englewood being the worst & Hyde Park (Obama & his minions) being the best. In addition, avoid 1-2 western inner city areas, recently dominated by Hispanics.
But cutting these two out the city of Chicago and it’s wealthy affluent suburbs are beautiful. Some of the richest counties in America are found in Chicago.

Once upon a time? Still back in the 1950s mindset in denial are we? Chicago is the murder capital of Amerika and nothing but a massive concrete cesspool jungle of wild armed drug savages where 80% of public school students are non-white and gangs rule. Only an idiot would scribble crap like that.

          • Nate Miller

I guess from your description you seem to scribble crap straight from celluloid fantasy. TV programs usually portray Chicago as the crime infested nation where 80% of Chicago’s residents are drug dealers and thugs. I’m sorry to say, only deluded retards like you would scribble crap like that.

          • MBlanc46

Nope, in 2013. Gangbangers kill gangbangers in the ghetto (and more power to them, I say). Stay out of the ghetto and you’re okay. There are magnet schools for white kids. Maybe you just don’t like cities. Fine. For those who do, Chicago is a great place (except for the winter).

          • MBlanc46

I lived in Hyde Park for 15 years (in addition to the four I spent there as a student). I found it quite a nice neighborhood. Obama didn’t live there; he lived in Kenwood, to the north of HP. You need to watch the West Side, also, which is the worse ghetto in the country.

          • Liberalsuck

The more annoying thing about liberals is not that they can’t acknowledge reality, but that they force this toxicity onto others.

          • MBlanc46

I doubt that there are many white folks moving into Chicago ghettos. There are the urban pioneer types, but they always just move onto the fringes.

          • NM156

The couple I referred to moved to Englewood. I kid you not. In addition, changing neighborhoods are not much less hazardous.

          • MBlanc46

Okay, so one nutcase. Moving into the northern fringe of Woodlawn from Hyde Park did increase the danger level somewhat, but people just couldn’t resist those condo prices.

          • NM156

I know another who bought a row house in Pullman. They didn’t last long either. Oh those row houses look so cute and English, don’t they? Ha ha ha…

          • MBlanc46

A colleague of my wife’s was looking at a place in Pullman, but didn’t buy. It may well be an island in the black sea. The fringe of Woodlawn is plausible pioneer territory because of it’s proximity to the U of C.

          • Salarino

Buffoons. I lived in Berwyn for 8 years and could see that type making an attempt in Cicero and maybe if they and their like reached a mass impacting a change, but the type who would move to Englewood are utterly brainwashed and in for a rude awakening (which sounds like is what happened).

I remember being surprised a couple of years ago when I was on the Blue Line and seeing that at the Kedzie and Eisenhower platform there were a few hipsters and yuppies who were starting to appear. They could have been in the area to buy drugs, but they didn’t give off that vibe. However….even that area isn’t anywhere near as far in hostile territory as Englewood.

      • brengunn

Are you blaming feminists for a white girl being gang raped by three slum dwellers while she was with her boyfriend in a taxi home?

You’ve lost all perspective. That’s just old fashioned victim blaming dressed up with a modern twist.

        • bigone4u

No, I’m suggesting that intelligent people reject feminist crap for what it is, crap.

        • bigone4u

Since the mods took down my reply, presumably due to a mild four letter word: No, I am suggesting that people reject the nonsense that is feminism.

          • Daisy

Sometimes bigone, it really seems as if you confuse straight sex with kinky sex as a rule. By that I mean there doesn’t seem a space between ’emasculated wimp’ and some sort of male domination. For me the space seems obvious and vast.

          • bigone4u

Ignoring “kinky sex” (how did that topic get in here?), the Marxist/lesbian orientation of most radical feminist teaching results in inhibited communication between men and women. Communication should be based on mutual respect, but should also be open and frank. Too many young males have been battered into a “metrosexual” identity. Kathy Shaidle over at Taki’s Magazine wrote a nice piece on this yesterday. I have a comment there. Read her piece and the comments to understand how our enemies have poisoned the well.

            http://takimag.com/article/this_week_in_epic_beta_male_faggotry_kathy_shaidle/print#axzz2PNm0Spj7

          • Daisy

How have these people inhibited communication between the sexes? I read up to a point the article and comments but the anti-gay attitude gets on my nerves.

          • bigone4u

I believe it was Camile Paglia in Vamps and Tramps who noted that every white male in a white collar job is scared to death of a sexual harassment complaint. She bemoans the lack of masculinity and the impeded communication that results. Vamps and Tramps is one of her best. She actually wrote about how much she loves Italy because of the Italian male catcalls and hoots (Hey baby. You are so sexy) as well as their pinching, which she loves too. Regarding Kathy’s essay, to me it is not anti-gay. It satirizes the gay worship imposed on us by the media, fashion designers, and feminists. The best point in the piece is how that one guy who renounced his masculinity publicly also announced that he sits down to urinate.

          • Daisy

I’ve heard Paglia’s a lesbian and she has publicly refused to even claim to have a sex, as in male or female. I often refuse to be gendered, but even I admit to an XX chromosome and a sex. She’s insane essentially. Every american woman I know who’s traveled to Italy has near-horror stories about Italian men. Paglia also wrote an entire tome about how women have nothing to contribute to culture. 500+ pages is a lot of nothing, and that’s what I consider her drivel to be. The workplace isn’t for sexual communication! I thought the “I pee sitting down guy” was kidding! I’ve yet to hear how the sexual revolution has impeded communication between the sexes.

          • Morris LeChat

wow! you HEARD that huh? gee, that’s amazing , especially since it has been common knowledge for 25 years

          • Daisy

So I guess bigone’s the dupe for believing she liked being sexually harassed and attacked by Italian men, huh?

          • bigone4u

Paglia describes herself as a lesbian bisexual. Dismissing any ad hominem attacks on her sanity or character, I know from experience that she is correct in asserting that feminism has made life more difficult for heterosexual men and women. The decline in the marriage rate is just one bit of evidence.

          • Formerly_Known_as_Whiteplight

The sexual revolution is long over. Feminism squashed it. What is going on now is just a lot of sex with no point. Smart men (of any race) with anything to loose learn to watch themselves around women, especially in the work place. I’ve seen women bait and sue. It was a neat little litigation model for a while and still is a popular threat. When Clinton was getting sued I knew that soon every other man around would be sued. I was too. I caught a woman embezzling and she got fired. She then sued me for sexual harassment. I best it because I called her bluff and declared she’d have to prejur

          • Jaego

Women don’t want equality even though they say they do. Women want to look up to a man. Men who believe Feminism aren’t respected by women. As ever, actions speak louder than words.

          • nobody

100% true. Whether they want to admit it or not, they are more attracted to a masculine man than some little sniveling sissy. From a biological point of view they know deep down which type of man would be a better provider for their offspring. An emasculated man isn’t going to be able to feed you, or protect you, and is going to set a poor example for your children. We are governed by our primitive, animal instincts much more than we would like to admit.

        • Pelayo

          brengunn,

You are so right. We’re back to that again. That girl was with her boyfriend and doing nothing that could be interpreted as “asking for it”. Who in Jesus Christ’s name would actually WANT to be gang raped other than some psychotic?

        • Formerly_Known_as_Whiteplight

If he’s blaming feminism for it, he’s not blaming the victims. How do you arrive at that? It’s not logical as your own sentence reads. In a general way, feminism is to blame, because it created a situation where a 21 year old woman gets a college scholarship in Brazil and it also forced her parents to go along with it or they would be tying her down with old practices of patronism. In past times, a decent woman of any age would not go to a place like that unmarried or alone. Decent is the operative word. As sexually explicit as Rio is in all ways, it is either naive or arrogant to imagine that sexual dangers were not lurking about.

          • brengunn

It’s completely logical because when feminism is criticized for an incident like this, the implied blame lies with the girl herself, as she is thought to be a feminist or has at least been influenced by the feminists. So it is just victim blaming. You yourself, describe a time when value judgements are made about rape victims, that is also victim blaming.

She wasn’t walking around a favela half naked in the middle of the night, she wasn’t on some liberal quest to show how human the slum dwellers are. This girl was with her boyfriend, going home in a crowded taxi from a city center bar. She had every right to assume she would be safe and in my opinion has every right not to be criticized for her choices.

      • Daisy

Does her husband have any responsibility for being ‘utterly stupid?’ This one I’m blaming on the media; the average american just simply does not have access to the realities of Brazil; well now they might.

        • NM156

Everyone knows how Rio is, just as everyone knows how Philadelphia, the South Side of Chicago, and the Bronx are. I’m sure she had a Lonely Planet or Moon Handbooks travel guide, in both of which is the advice, “Rio is a dangerous city, especially at night.”

          • Daisy

No they don’t; I didn’t before I studied it, although I can’t say I was shocked. Still, this attack is somewhat surprising and it just seems unfair and mean to blame this poor woman who might even have HIV. I blame the libs who’ve had access to information for getting themselves into trouble, but Rio isn’t portrayed as that dangerous unless you ask the right people.

          • brengunn

Why don’t you blame the rapists?

          • Daisy

I do, but I’ve also come to the point in life where I’m sort of sick of white people ignoring the realities of pragmatic responsibility as opposed to moral.

          • bigone4u

No one is letting the rapists off the hook. People make decisions based on information. Liberals offer false information about blacks and demonize those who offer true info as racists. So, yes, the libs are morally if not legally responsible for a great deal of the rape of white women.

          • brengunn

They certainly share part of the responsibility for giving women their false sense of security but the ultimate blame goes to the rapist.

I do take issue with some posters here who often seem more than a little triumphant when we comment on rape stories.

          • Formerly_Known_as_Whiteplight

I agree, rape is bad and real men hate it. But it is frustrating because those women have been rejecting our protection for decades now. Some of us just realize that it’s unfortunately going to take a lot more rapes and other abuses to change that attitude, if it can change at all. The usual response is that they will just learn how to better kick a man in the groin, not realizing that it doesn’t work as well as advertised and trying to dominate men in general to end it only creates more of it.

          • saxonsun

It sounds like you are saying that men are beasts. We have no argument with that.

          • Sherman_McCoy

Even if all three of these subhumans were castrated with dirty blades, and then slowly tortured to death, it would not make up for the evil done to this white girl. It’s about damned time whites wised up to their relative value to civilization. Compared to almost any white, these POS are worthless.

          • Formerly_Known_as_Whiteplight

But many of those white women are liberals, steeped in feminist ideology.

          • Anonymous

It’s so much easier to blame the victims who only believed what they were “taught” in the educational system.

          • Nathanwartooth

It takes a little bit of luck to just stumble upon race realism since you are taught the exact opposite since 1st grade. For those that don’t live around diversity they have no clue.

I wouldn’t know anything if it wasn’t for my uncle and the fact that I wanted to challenge the fact that Blacks commit 50% of all murders. Once I looked at the DOJ site and found that it was true that was just the beginning.

          • Formerly_Known_as_Whiteplight

Let’s play make believe, since you are already taking imaginative liberties in supposing. Let’s say that these two were planning on becoming teachers themselves, specializing in multicultural studies. Their experience in Rio just changed their curricula.

          • TeutonicKnight67

She was a victim of cultural brainwashing. Her mind was warped before her body was violated so heinously. Otherwise she would have never gone to such a horrid place. I submit that this poor young woman has been violated twice.

          • NM156

I’m gonna pry my 1999 Lonely Planet Brazil off the bookcase and get back to you.

          • Formerly_Known_as_Whiteplight

So does that mean that you blame feminism? It isn’t information that gets them into trouble, it’s the indoctrination that makes them liberals and makes them think that they are too good to get hurt.

          • Daisy

I don’t get how you blame feminism for some white woman’s rape at the hands of black people in this situation.

          • Anonymous

That poor girl who was so brutally abused didn’t deserve to be punished for her unworldliness. She as was Amy Biehl, and Eve Carson and thousands of other young men and women, a victim of the evil agenda of the left. The pain of every rape survivor and the blood of all the dead innocents is on the Progressives.
The day of reckoning is coming like a runaway train. As White Americans begin to awaken screaming from their nightmarish slumber, the White worm will become the White Cobra. We’ve been swallowing this stuff for 60 years. It’s time to put an end to it. We can’t change Brazil but we sure as Hell can change America.

I beg to differ. I don’t think we can change America, we are too few and fading. The only possibility is that it will collapse and then reform into smaller nations or regions of influence. When that collapse happens the entire world will be involved. Anything to touch it off anytime now; a market crash due to a war in Korea, the real crash of Cypress and Europe’s economy, and other things as well. Whites better learn to unite and stop bickering among themselves.

There are still over one hundred million of us. And we are far better shots than the Mau Mau. Once we decide that we’ve had enough the tables will turn .

          • Nate Miller

Whiteplight is correct. Had it only been low IQ Mau Mau, what you stated would add up, but, the real enemies we face are NOT the Mau Mau, apart from Hispanics, Asiatics, Muslims and liberals, there is another major group we face and they work behind the scenes & pull the strings. A force so lethal and powerful that even over one hundred million of us would have a tough time trying to beat them. The Mau Mau is the least of our actual problems, if you are able to catch the drift!

          • Daisy

I thought you loved that major group if I get your drift.

        • bigone4u

I do not take khesan’s term “utterly stupid” literally. I think he is alluding to the natural tendency of Individuals to believe society’s cultural myths. Just as kids want to believe in the tooth fairy and Santa Claus, adults tend to accept what they are taught in school and in media as truth. They want to believe that blacks are just whites with more pigment. The myth that galls me the most, living in south Texas, is the myth of Mexicano supremecy, which the local establishment pushes. The feminist myth that women can do anything without consequence is another. People who comment at this website obviously have superior abilities to sift through our cultural belief system and reject the wheat from the chaff. Otherwise, we would all be nodding in agreement that blacks invented everything!

        • Butch

America is becoming Brazil. No need to travel very far.

      • Sherman_McCoy

It isn’t just the extreme leftist feminists, though I admit, they are particularly vile. There has been a certain amount of American arrogance and naiveté that we are somehow masters of all we survey, wherever we go. Fact is, third word countries are usually dangerous cesspools to be avoided. I’ve been in a few, and will never go there again by choice.

      • Adriana Milano

Great comment. I agree with “The_Bobster”: white girls have foolishly bought into this false notion that even though they may be a 5’4″ delicate petite framed femme, they can still beat a whole pack of huge muscular 6’7″ odd men. Absolute nonsense! And usually, on TV they portray a beautiful petite skinny white girl beating the living daylights out of big muscular gigantic black men, which would empower females to delude themselves into thinking that they are more superior in strength.

        Some examples in our media:

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OaYii7k4Zgo

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzKfnnF9tPA

Also in this supposed reality TV show on cops, the whole thing is fully staged & scripted, note the camera angles:

Big – For years i thought all this stuff done with a wink, wink, nudge, nudge. I never thought White people could actually buy into this stuff. Then it started showing up in my own family. Not stupidity to this extent, yet. But idiocy nonetheless. Joseph Goebels, wherever he is, is smiling.

      • saxonsun

The true feminist teaches her girls that men are dangerous–in other words, the naked truth. And third-world males are the most dangerous. I think every woman knows this.

        • nobody

You honestly think that all men are dangerous? You think that we couldn’t be alone together in a room without me ravishing you against your will? Either you are crazy or you think pretty highly of yourself.

      • Paleoconn

They indoctrinate them that their White male neighbors, boyfriend, father, brothers, uncles, doctor, are a threat to them. But nothing about the threat of the diverse ones.

    • Tim

Blame the media!! What sent me was a picture of a woman in a evening gown and jewelery walking on the beach at dawn with her shoes in her hand. Once I got down there I realized that what was supposed to be a Fred and Ginger ballroom waltz was more like a Laundermat gang rape…

    • NM156

Rio is a dangerous city, and any foreign visitor with two functioning brain cells knows it’s risky. Rio’s street crime is the first thing everyone inquires about with locals and in travel guides. This naive nitwit didn’t believe what, to everyone else, is common sense and everyday experience. Why her parents let her go to Rio is a mystery.

      • Kronolog

Yes, the it’s no coincidence that vehicle of choice among wealthy Brazilians is the helicopter.

        • Bad_Mr_Frosty

Yea, really. When armored cars just don’t cut it, it’s time to admit there’s a problem.

  • Tim

Half a lifetime on, I can still hear the sincere and softly spoken apology of my Rio de Janerio cabbie as I looked out stunned over all the filth, poverty and violence. “I`m sorry we`re not what they told you we were…”

    • brengunn

      Poignant.

I’ve seen some documentaries about Brazilian street life, lets just say it’s no different nowadays. The cops clean the streets with deadly force, they’re practically a gang themselves.

  • Bill

It’s little known. Most people think of Brazil as just another country with brown spanish speaking people. It’s not. Half the population of that sorry country are blacks. And I’d bet the rapists were of the black type. Moreover, I recently saw a study done by Brazil itself which said that something like 75% of brazilians had had sex with an animal at least once. I’m betting on the demographics of that little statistic too.

    • bigone4u

Does that 75 percent apply to Mexicans too?

      • Grim Jim

If you read any of Dave Gibson’s updates from the Examiner they are too busy raping children, real young children and babies, to waste their time on animals. The MSM won’t touch the reality of what the greasy illegals are really doing here, Dave has been relentless pointing out their crimes.

        • bigone4u

You read a lot about Mexicans raping babies in the San Antonio paper too. I’ll take a look at Gibson’s writings. Thanks.

    • brengunn

said that something like 75% of Brazilians had had sex with an animal at least once.

I read a biography of a famous Brazilian football player, a World cup winner, and hero in Latin America, I was surprised to read that he lost his virginity to a goat. Not only that, but the practice was not uncommon, too. This was in the 40’s so I can’t say whether they still do it.

      • The__Bobster

Do goats count? I did NOT know that.

        • brengunn

I suppose it’s warm and wet. I think the guy was only about 10 or 11 at the time, too.

          • E. Rekshun

            Like an apple pie.

      • jeffaral

They use to rape chickens too. Brazilians are very imaginative.

        • brengunn

I didn’t even know that would be possible.

    • Gerónimo Anónimo

“And I’d bet the rapists were of the black type.”
I wouldn’t be surprised. Of course they could be Indians. They’re working toward a Gold Medal in that category considering the rape of the girl on the bus and the gang rape of the woman who was camping with her husband somewhere in India. I for one would not camp in the US despite my big frame .357. They can always jump you while you’re asleep.

    • Bad_Mr_Frosty

      “Brazilians”

    • purestocles

      Portuguese speaking.

The first thing I noticed in Rio was that the locals and the thugs seem to have a tacit agreement. The thugs won`t harass or rob the locals and the locals wont intervene on behalf of the tourists…

  • Maude Amee

More likely than not the victim was infected with AIDS. What possible ideology could have caused this brutal gang rape? Oh, they’re not Muslims. Must be the usual — lets rape us a white woman then.

    • Kathy M

Right. With Muslims its strictly ideology based. Race has NOTHING to do with their victims being 99% white girls in Western countries. /sarc

  • bigone4u

Giving the Olympic Games to a third world mullato country is something that the civilized world is going to come to regret. Of course, the MSM will soon stop reporting stories such as this one, even as the violence escalates with the arrival of more white tourists. The MSM politically correct narrative is a lie, and more and more are waking up to that fact.

    • The__Bobster

Actually, I think the Games will come off very well. The Rio cops are brutal and will sweep the streets clean of scum. Tourists will be safe as long as they don’t get too stupidly “adventurous”.

      • The 2010 World Cup of Soccer in South Africa went off relatively problem free, for that reason. That and they brought in Germans to run the logistics.
Remember, Chicago wanted the games that Rio got. I might be more scared to go to a Summer Olympics in Chicago than Rio.

        • NM156

CPD did a fine job of preventing chaos during the NATO meeting last year. Cost the taxpayers several million in overtime pay, however.

          • NATO protesters are white. The Olympics would have had a lot of events and the housing in majority black areas …..

          • NM156

If I recall, some of the facilities were to be in Jackson Park. Yikes!

      • bigone4u

Rio’s trannies are world famous. There are going to be some surprised tourists, if you get my meaning.

    • NM156

World Cup will be in Brazil next year, an event with more visitors than the Olympics, I’ll guess. However, not all games will be in Rio, which is Brazil’s most dangerous city. Sao Paolo, having a high population of white Europeans, is a safe haven compared to Rio.

Big fat apes. Had I encountered them getting rapey on a Chicago El, their jawbones would have been broken by my size 13 boot or by the window breaker I carry on my keychain. Concealed carry comes very soon to Chicago.

        • bigone4u

What is a keychain window breaker? Do I need one?

        • I always carry an “assisted opening” pocket knife.

          • NM156

Really, if I had to take the El regularly, at odd hours, I would just carry a pistol whether it was legal or not. Fortunately, only when my car is out of commission I’ll take the El. I took it daily when I went to UIC as an undergraduate, from Addison to Clinton, a fairly long commute. After late labs, coming home could be a real freakshow.

          • TeutonicKnight67

Discretion is indeed the better part of valor but I can’t believe the defeatist drivel I’m reading here. Avoiding conflict is always the best bet but when you have to defend yourself then by all means DO IT and WIN.

I’m not surprised that a LEO would take you to task on this. While couching his words in macho lingo and basically calling you out, he does reinforce an essential truth that I’ve posted many times; the “law” is not the same as “justice”. and The Law is against white people. Be careful out there.

        • A cop on Amren

All your false bravado seems very brave when hiding behind a computer screen, in the real world, if you attempted being a hero, we all know how it would end up! Another white guy who attempted to play “her” with a broken jaw, broken ribs, couple of fractures and in coma at the ICU in a hospital. Wallets, credit cards and cash/ precious items all reported stolen. Stop being a hero and talk logically in terms of crime prevention. Don’t tell this seasoned city police officer how brave you could be behind a computer screen. I’ve seen many who talk like you end up in the hospital intensive care units or in body bags!

If I were you, I’d pack heat (even though it is illegal). And don’t kid yourself, most of these inner city black punks are pretty strong, much stronger than most white men and do know how to fight and maim their victims. Stop kidding yourself and others, and instead, use professional protection guidelines.

          • NM156

Kid whom? I’m a white guy who grew up in a neighborhood full of hardcore white, felon, gangbangers in the deindustrializing Chicago of the 1980s. These black rapists in Rio are fat ciphers. Two freakin minutes with a weapon in my hand, and they’d all be dead. Do you think all blacks are Mike Tyson? Gimme a break! The great majority are set to expire in their 40s from hypertension and type II diabetes. They’re laughable slobs who will fall with one punch. The only ones who weight train are high school athletes and prisoners. Whites outside of big metro areas with large black populations have misconceptions about what blacks are really like on the whole. Seriously, if I saw me coming at me with a 2×4, I’d run. Fortunately, I haven’t had the good fortune of interacting with blacks or having a reason to be in the borderlands in two decades.

          • brengunn

He is right though. Coming face to face with trouble is quite different from the description online and city hospitals are full of white knights who’ve stepped up. These thugs are street hardened and used to fighting, unlike suburban white males who also have a numerical disadvantage and are without weapons.

          • NM156

Suburban is the qualifier for those who are naive and defeatist, for sure.

Behold the future of the United States.

Police operations in the slums of Rio resemble military operations in a war zone, with armored vehicles and full-caliber assault weapons used in the streets.

The wealthy live in gated communities and drive cars modified to be bullet resistant. The most at risk fly to and from their downtown offices by helicopter, to avoid kidnapping and robberies which are rampant.

The mulatto country can be compared to the worst parts of Mexico. If it is that unsafe for residents, tourists should be wary.

    http://www.rio-de-janeiro-travel-information.com/bope-elite-squad.html

    http://www.economist.com/node/740145

All of this may not bother immigration enthusiasts in this country, who think this would be a manageable future for the United States – an elite running the country, a small middle class worried for their lives, and a well-funded para-military police structure kept occupied by a perpetual war on crime.

    • MBlanc46

I think that many of the elite think this is a manageable future.

  • The__Bobster

I used to go there on business. Every time I had a personal bodyguard/guide. Yet this stupid girl thought she’d be safe there?

Stop blaming innocent people who don’t know any better. My cousin – a tall blue eyed blonde – went to Sao Paulo for her honeymoon with her husband. I studied Brazilian history and considered it a questionable move although it’s not as dangerous as Rio, but I wouldn’t have had any idea had I not studied the culture. The MSM and tourist industry aren’t going to tell the truth about the dangers.

      • NM156

São Paulo has a large white population and has become one of the world’s most powerful industrial and financial centers. It’s not comparable to Rio, which is risky just about everywhere.

      • Enablers aren’t innocent. They are probably worse than the criminals.

      • MBlanc46

The marketing will be all beaches and tropical drinks and partying until dawn. The reality will be predators descended from African slaves.

  • Tomas

According to the Public Security Institute of Rio de Janeiro, an average of 16 women and 10 children are raped EVERYDAY in that city.

From what I’ve seen in some of Jared’s videos, one of his greatest fears is that the US will turn into a Brazil of some sort, with the white population living in gated communities to protect themselves from the savagery of the “browns”.

My opinion is that things will in fact be a lot worse than that, because many whites will not be able to afford living in those gated communities as a result of affirmative action warfare and the increase in liberal/socialist policies of the government, thus making them the primary targets of the brown savages.

The numbers that I mentioned in my first paragraph may soon be a reality in many white countries. In fact, some of them already have a foot in that reality (Sweden, Norway, UK, France…).

It breaks my heart to know that this was done by traitors within our own kind and that it could have been prevented. Unfortunately, we’re already in too deep and only a civil war will save our race, at the expense of many lives.

    • Sherman_McCoy

As you say, many lives are going to be expended. Best to be armed and ready to go down fighting.

    • MBlanc46

The US as Brazil is not too far-fetched.

  • dd121

Hate to break the news to you honey but there are certain parts of town in the USA, Brazil and a lot of other places where you don’t go. P.S. Did you think a Frenchman was going to protect you? Hee hee.

  • LastBastionOfHope

I bet this was an ultra-liberal white woman who wanted to be “enriched” by diversity. I guess she got enriched the hard way.

    • Daisy

So yesterday you were thumping your chest about saving various white females from black male aggression and today you’re blaming what seems like a comparatively innocent victim. The girls you described were getting drunk and wandering around the college dorm which to me is a lot less innocent than a white woman who went on vacation with her husband in Rio and got jumped in a group taxi.

      • bigone4u

Lastbastion can defend himself because I won’t. What I think motivates his type of comment is a desire to believe in karma–what goes around comes around. This type of thinking espouses the view that libs deserve to reap the whirlwind they have unleashed on the rest of us. One problem with the way this line of thinking is applied here is that there is no evidence that the victim was a liberal. I part company with many around here because I don’t want to see libs raped or murdered. I do want them to suffer consequences from their evil though. And liberal politicians might be an exception to not wishing libs dead.

        • MBlanc46

As we’re not going to kill them, we’d best devote our efforts to converting them. Or, at least, neutralizing them and converting the many fair-minded people who still hope that integration can work, but are starting to have doubts, or can be made to have doubts by being presented with facts.

So a cat poop disease makes Brazilians oversexed, eh? Interesting.

  • Daisy

I’m gonna start using that one – is it ‘white privelege’ when I don’t want to be raped by a black man? When a liberal claims they’ve caught me stereotyping I’m going to confront them with stats.

    • brengunn

      If only that worked, Daisy.

      • robinbishop34

        She should do it anyway.

        • MBlanc46

Yes. We need to keep bringing up facts whenever the subject of race is discussed. If nothing else, it will put the integrationists off balance and let us frame the conversation.

From Rio, Brazil: about crime in Rio the best information available for Americans and tourists in general can be found in http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_1072.html. If the American girl and her boyfriend had read this stuff they wouldn’t have picked up a minibus at 01:00 o’clock Saturday in Copacabana to go to the dangerous Lapa region for a party or another indulgence. Every carioca know that! It is astonishing how foreigners can be so fool as to the realities of Rio (and of other Third World destinations)! Get real! And yes, as expected, the rapists are one Black and two Mullatos from rotted Rio slums.

    • Tim

The walk down memory lane has my neck hurting from looking behind me! Two things jumped out from the advisory. The first were instructions to “dress down”. It made me remember a guy I admired who was either drunk or dead on the sidewalk. He had a tailored suit, made from newspaper and shoe polish!! When I clicked a pic of him, another guy with no shirt period, jaw socked me for recording their misery.I`ve always wanted to go back dressed like that after rubbing rotten fruit and dumpster grease on myself. The cloak of invisibility! The other was about befriending scams. I met a great bunch of condo salesmen who insisted on showing me a 15th floor oceanfront for lease. Right as one of them took his arm from around my shoulder to get on the elevator, I heard my inner voice say, “They`re not in the friend or condo business.” The look of anger and thwarted opportunity as the door closed on them with me steeping out at the last moment made me realize as an other poster put it, that I was “Switched on”…

      • Daisy

What do you think they were going to do to you…rob you?

        • Tim

Oh Yeah!! It was the look in the eyes that told me. It reminds me of a Colonel from Kentucky who was demanding that everyone in the group who had been assaulted , scammed etc.( The whole Tour) to go with him and file a report. I hissed at him, “I`ve seen the kids and met the cabbies. I don`t even want to talk to the police!!” And right then I knew I had won and I would get home safely. Why? Because I was starting to think like them!

          • Daisy

A woman I met was raped in Chile and because of some logistical issue didn’t go to the police immediately, which was lucky because when she told her friends her plan to report after a couple of days, they told her that it was customary for police to rape rape victims. I found this out more than 15 yrs ago and don’t know when it actually happened

      • Anon

Actually it’s not so bad if you take precautions. Of utmost importance: i) dress down, yes, but moreover do not show electronic devices, expensive cameras and jewels when promenading in the streets, beaches and other areas; ii) assume you’re in a urban jungle and as such in need of a trained guide; iii) keep formation which means: never be alone in the streets but within groups of people, the larger the better; iv) avoid slums and any impoverished region of the city, v) avoid going out alone at night and vi) be suspicious of every dark skinned people, unless they are introduced to you by a streetwise carioca friend. After that, if you can, you may enjoy Rio…

  • David Albert

To advise anyone of the imminent dangers awaiting us will be greeted with scoffs and snarls! I would rather try to direct my 14 year old labrador away from a head butt into a door jamb than to advise a “youth” of the dangers of “diversity!” At least my Lab accepts my “re-direction!”

    • Tim

I read in the book “The Gift of Fear” that a woman will tolerate unwelcome advances from a questionable male to preserve his feelings but refuse a warning about same from a well dressed businessman… Go figure!!

Hmmm. I wonder whether the Brazilians are developing a new Olympic sport for 2016.

From 2002-2009 there were 221 rapes or sexual assaults reported by women Peace Corps volunteers. Reported mind you, only God knows how many there actually were.

  • Sherman_McCoy

Hey, I saw that movie “Rio,” about the parrots, and the handsome light-skinned Brazilian naturalist, and his white girlfriend, and all those cute little african-american-voiced

  • KenelmDigby

The black population of Rio is no different from blacks anywhere else in the World.
    – This is the reality of Brazil, despite all the bulpoopy one reads about Brazil being the ‘up and coming new BRIC super-power’ etc etc.
Granted, Brazil does contain many Whites of unmixed stock mainly in the south, but don’t kid yourself that the savages of Rio are not typical for Brazil.

  • that’s were diversity is sending America. Won’t it be great, America?

  • Some of you guys are being way to harsh to this woman. She was in a van for public transportation and it doesn’t seem that she provoked this attack. If she were drunk in some bar and flirting with this guys and then was raped then that would be a different story. You guys need to back off.

Since this woman was on a student visa, here’s what may well happen:
She’ll sue her American college on the grounds that it should have known Brazil is dangerous, and for not warning her adequately.

  • jeffaral

How puss… Americans are: The seaside parts of Rio are relatively safe. In a mostly brown city like Rio, if you’re really white with light eyes you’ll be literally besieged by the girls. Whites are viewed as semi-gods, as the race of slave-owners.

  • jay11

I know a white liberal who lives in the ghetto and insists everything is fine. I know liberal young women who are fearless and go into any dark alley in the middle of the night thinking they are all-powerful and will never be hurt. The sad thing is that such women do get hurt, but what is even worse, they always find a way to blame white men for what non-whites do to them.
I read somewhere that something like 50,000 rapes occur every year with black men attacking white women. I had to read that figure again. I was like, “What, that’s like wartime levels on an active frontline.” How is it possible that feminists are completely ignoring black male on white female crime? How is that possible?

  • David Ashton

Has anyone collected the stories of white women who “fall in love” and “marry” some black tribesman in Africa and live to regret the experience?

  • Paleoconn

My guess: an Obama voter. Welcome to Diversity 101, chica.

  • Whirlwinder

Brasil is a barracaded encampment. The citizens do not go about unless they are in packs. The people live in armed apartments and no doors are opened but to somebody with an appointment. You used to be able to get good country reports from the state dept. but they give good reports now for places like gaza, Egypt and other tourist meccas.

  • Brazilians stunned LMAO!!! Better keep your college kids home, what thei’re being taught, aint the real world,Everybody HATES AMERICANS!!!

  • My wife is from Rio de Janeiro and I have been there dozens of times in the 25+ years we have been together. I speak the language but I keep my mouth shut when on the street (owing to a pronounced American accent in my spoken Portuguese).

Rio de Janeiro is a festering sh*thole and IMO there is no reason to visit there unless one has family in that city.

I’d love to put a bullet in each one of their ugly primate faces. They never should have been taken alive.

  • Gerónimo Anónimo

When it comes to you fighting for YOUR life or that of a loved one, shoot first and worry about the consequences later. If it’s a secluded area make sure that all the attackers are dead. Use a revolver so as not to leave behind telltale brass. Some makers have 9 shot capacity cylinders. Psych down your adrenalin and leave the scene content that you’ve done a service to the rest of society and to yourself and/ or the person whom you were defending.

  • Jobe

I’m not brazilian but I live in Brazil and I can state some real facts about this country:
    1) Rio’s population does not represent the whole country: for example, the southern part of the country has a majority of european descendants (that’s where some blue-eyed blond brazilian top models come from) and some of them say that Rio is “the garbage of Brazil”;
    2) Rape in Brazil is a crime punished by prison and even the “regular” criminals hate rapists to the point that a rapist in prison equals a death sentence. Rape here is not as common as in India, but obviously there are other cases of rape with local victims that don’t turn into international news;
    3) Tourists are the most vulnerable people in any part of the world, even in US. So the rape did not happened just because of the victim’s skin color. In this specific case, the criminals were an “organized gang” that assaulted and raped tourists with the help of the van driver. They weren’t caught before because most victims don’t report rape crimes.
    4) Someone here posted that 75% of brazilians have had sex with animals… that’s a funny lie. First, sex with animals (bestiality or zoophilia) is common in rural areas in the whole world. Legally there’s no restriction in Brazil, Denmark, Finland, Belgium, Germany and some US states (AL, AS, DC, GU, HI, KY, MT, NV, NH, NJ, NM, MP, OH, TX, VT, VA, WV and WY). Second, who in his right mind would believe that in a country with the second largest Catholic population of the world (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_religious_populations#Christians_2) 75% of the people are engaged in bestiality? I really laughed out loud when I read this.
