California Shooting: Oakland Gunman One Goh Was Looking for Female Administrator

Telegraph (London), April 3, 2012

One Goh, the gunman who shot and killed seven people at a college in Oakland, California, was looking for a female administrator.

Oakland Police Chief Howard Jordan said at a news conference on Tuesday morning that the 43-year-old began randomly shooting people after learning the administrator was not there.

Seven people died in the shooting on Monday at Oikos University in Oakland, and three others were wounded.

Police said on Tuesday that the suspect had been upset with the school’s administration and had been “mistreated” and “disrespected” by students.

The South Korean-born former student turned himself in at a nearby supermarket shortly after Monday’s shootings.

“We’ve learned that the suspect was upset with the administration at the school. He was also upset that students in the past, when he attended the school, mistreated him, disrespected him, and things of that nature,” Jordan told the TV show “Good Morning America.” “He was having, we believe, some behavioural problems at the school and was asked to leave several months ago.

“We’ve learned that this was a very chaotic, calculated and determined gentleman that came there with a very specific intent to kill people, and that’s what his motive was and that’s what he carried out,” he added.

Chief Jordan also told CNN that the gunman “does not appear to be remorseful at all”.

Those connected to the school, including the founder and several students, described the gunman as a former nursing student. The chief said Goh is a South Korean national.

Five died at the scene and another two died at the hospital. The wounded victims were in stable condition, and at least one person had been released from the hospital. Jordan told “Good Morning America” the victims ranged in age from 21 to 40.

Dawinder Kaur’s family told the Oakland Tribune that she was being treated for a gunshot to her elbow.

The 19-year-old told her family that that the gunman was a student in her nursing class who had been absent for months before returning Monday. The gunman entered the classroom and ordered students to line up against the wall.

When he showed his gun, students began running and he opened fire, her family said.

“She told me that a guy went crazy and she got shot,” brother Paul Singh told the newspaper. “She was running. She was crying; she was bleeding, it was wrong.”

Tashi Wangchuk, whose wife attended the school and witnessed the shooting, said he was told by police that the gunman first shot a woman at the front desk, then continued shooting randomly in classrooms.

Mr Wangchuk said his wife, Dechen Wangzom, was in her nursing class when she heard gunshots. She locked the door and turned off the lights.

The gunman “banged on the door several times and started shooting outside and left,” he said. Wangchuk said no one was hurt inside, but the gunman shot out the glass in the door. He said she did not know the man.

Art Richards said he was driving by the university on his way to pick up a friend when he spotted a woman hiding in the bushes. He pulled over, and when he approached her, she said, “I’m shot” and showed him her arm.

“She had a piece of her arm hanging out,” Mr Richards said.

As police arrived, Mr Richards said he heard 10 gunshots coming from inside the building. The woman told him that she saw the gunman shoot one person point-blank in the chest and one in the head.

Myung Soon Ma, the school’s secretary, said she could not provide any details about what happened at the private school, which serves the Korean community with courses from theology to Asian medicine.

“I feel really sad, so I cannot talk right now,” she said.

Pastor Jong Kim, who founded the school about 10 years ago, told the newspaper that he did not know if the shooter was expelled or dropped out. Kim said he heard about 30 rapid-fire gunshots in the building and stayed in his office.

The suspect was detained at a supermarket about an hour after the shooting.

A security guard at the supermarket approached the man because he was acting suspiciously, KGO-TV reported. The man told the guard that he needed to talk to police because he shot people, and the guard called authorities.

“He didn’t look like he had a sign of relief on him. He didn’t look like he had much of any emotion on his face,” said Lisa Resler, who was buying fruit at Safeway with her 4-year-old daughter when she saw the man.

Goh also called his father soon after the shooting and told him what happened, the police chief said. The father also called authorities, Jordan said.

The suspect’s brother was killed in a car accident last year in Virginia while on active duty in the U.S. Army, according to Stars and Stripes newspaper. The suspect attended the funeral of Sgt. Su Wan Ko after the March 8, 2011, accident.

  • So where is the “diversity” at this school? Why are all the students Asian and from other countries? Sounds suspicious to me. Could this be another one of those visa swindles, disguised as a “university,” to bring in hordes of foreigners who never leave once they get here?

    • dmxinc

You are absolutely correct about “universities” being used to give “students” residence in the US and make the foreign operator of the “university” very wealthy as the students must pay a lot of money to the university for the right to remain in the country.

With an M-1 visa the “student” can only attend the school he is registered with.  Once out of that school, he must leave the country.  Foreigners are aware of this law and exploit it.  We Americans are getting scammed in so many ways, but most are too busy watch American Idol or Dancing with the Stars.

      • Yes dmxinc. I forget to include the about the “operator.”In this case, Pastor Jong Kim, another Korean. Looks like the good Pastor has a Korean pipeline, with endless student willing to pay big bucks to “study” in America.

        • Funny, but in America there is a legal presumption of innocence that requires proof beyond a reasonable doubt (criminal cases), or proof by a preponderance of the evidence (civil cases). This comes from our English Common Law heritage.

Thomas, what proof do you have to support your claims?

Having said that, I will say that immediately after 9-11, Sen Diane Feinstein wanted to stop all of the foreign student visas but backed down about about later after all the political flak she got in CA, esp from the UC Regents and from the CalState U leadership. They both make TONS of money off of foreign students who then go back to their home countries and set up shop to compete against us.

Yet the unions, whose members lose jobs to those foreign competitors, fully support the liberals who push this. What about the “captains of industry,” the C level executives? They didn’t get where they’re at by, ahem, spitting into the wind. They say, fine, we’ll set up manufacturing plants overseas and hire those US educated foreigners to compete w/Americans. Whatever will make us money, that’s all that counts.

Neither the Dem nor the Repub leadership gives a flying, ahem, hoot about what happens to this country and its people. We’ve abandoned Christianity and embraced Darwinism, so it’s “dog eat dog”, “survival of the fittest” and “the devil takes the hindmost.” Welcome to America as one giant game of “Survivor”….

          • I did not realize I had to prove my “case” beyond a reasonable doubt (criminal case) or by a preponderance of the evidence (civil case) in order to speculate on what appears to be a school catering to a specific “student” body.
Since we are not in a court of law, I will allow my suspicions to stand.

          • Were “white” people this concerned about “proof” when it comes to Innocently Convicted White People, we’d be so much better off…  (www.innocenceproject.org)

          • I guess you have no problem with going around smearing someone’s reputation, and especially a religious leader’s (here, Pastor Kim), without a shred of evidence (in this case, that the school is a visa mill).

This is good to know since it shows AmReners what you base your opinions upon and how much credibility they should give them….

          • In re. SG below: I don’t believe in “racial justice.” I’m against innocent people being wrongly convicted of crimes (or losing civil lawsuits), regardless of their color/race.

Race realism is more of a public policy issue than an issue of justice (although it has significant legal implications).

          • “Proof” has never really counted but Blood and/or Money sure has.

All one really needs to do is look around.

          • WASP – You sound offended. Did you graduate from Oikos University or something? You seem to be under the impression that I care about the “reputation” of a Korean “Pastor,” with a propensity to cater to a certain demographic.

I’m not alone in my suspicions, especially considering that a visa mill masquerading as a “university “would not be unprecedented.

Moreover, I am not asking for a conviction (hence your diatribe about the burden of proof required), but rather an investigation. I will assume you know the difference between the two.

I am sure the good Pastor’s “reputation” will survive….

    • STOP IT!!!

asians are the most honest, ethical, moral and intelligent people the World has ever produced so stop….

And, you know asians aren’t here to take-over so those asian names are lies.  All those people are “white”.

      • The_Bobster
        • Pardon me here but I take none of what you provided as “fact” for I have been told, over and over again, asians are ‘crime-free’, ‘better and smarter than White Folk’ and my personal favorite, ‘they belong here’.  I’m paraphrasing of course but all the above is said and repeatedly so, by “white” people themselves so it must be “True”.

I’m sorry.  I’ve been a little salty as of late.  I’m tired of the Non-White Worship.  These people have yet to begun to prove themselves yet they’re Worthy of Admiration?  Huh?

I Stand with Common Sense and Common Sense tell me, you can’t be better than The White Peoples when you still Practice Third World in these here Days of Knowledge.

          • No

Asiatics are vicious in war.  They get crazy-racial and kill each other for fun.  That’s one reason why the Mongols spread so much fear.  No European had ever seen killing on the level they brought . . . killing which was natural to the Mongol.

But generally, a woman can walk through any Asiatic city at any time of  night and not be bothered.  Maybe some pickpockets and purse snatchers hanging around markets or touristy areas . . . but even then, the locals will deal with them if they’re caught.

I think the take-away lesson here is exactly what a lot of whites poke fun at:  He caught the American sickness and became violent.  That’s exactly right.  We are a sick multi-cult  society.  We’ve lost the sense of Europeanism and replaced it with jungle and barrio law.

Any group that comes into contact with us catches our disease.

          • It’s not my disease nor is it of anyone I know.  What you speak may be True of The Invaders but is False about Americans.

Americans and “americans” are two very different Species.

Oakland Mass Murder Site Oikos University—Another Visa Mill?
By Brenda Walker on April 2, 2012 at 10:02pm

I live less than 12 miles from the site of Monday’s mass murder, Oikos University, and had never heard of the place. A television news segment reported the city Councilman Larry Reid whose district includes the school said he didn’t know of it either.

The shooter who killed seven has been identified as 43-year-old One L. Goh (or One Goh Ko), a former nursing student. I haven’t seen any mentions of his immigration status.

One reporter on KTVU briefly mentioned that another student described Goh as “frustrated he didn’t speak English well.” (KTVU has a bunch of current videos on its website but they are not individually linkable.)

Inability to speak English has caused a number of immigrants to lash out in murderous fashion. Somebody in the home country should tell the hopeful newbies that their careers aren’t going anywhere without learning the language of success in America.

Immigration is a highly stressful enterprise and sometimes ends violently when a foreigner becomes overwhelmed with his inability to assimilate to this society’s language and culture.

The school’s website has a Korean version and says it is accredited to offer degrees in a handful of subjects like music, bible studies, Asian medicine (presumably acupuncture) and an AA degree in nursing. One media report characterized the college as a “vocational Christian school.”

It clearly provides services designed to attract a certain flavor of diversity—religious Korean immigrants.California is fertile ground for visa mills cranking out faux degrees in tech to provide a gateway to America for “students” to enter the country and never leave. One example was Tri-Valley University of San Jose which was shut down last year. See also Visa Mills Scam Profitably in Silicon Valley.

    • Thomas, funny you should bring up diversity. An article I saw on Yahoo said the victims were “diverse”. One was from Nepal, one was South Korean, one was Tibetan and another was from Nigeria.

      I’m not making this up.

    • Xanthippe2

You got it!  There are any number of such “universities” here in the Bay Area — generally catering to various Asian ethnic groups.  Some of them are just a couple of rooms in an office building.  This one seemed to be a whole building.  It had some made-at-the-xerox-shop looking plastic sheeting with the school’s name on it.

  • Execute this dirtbag publicly as an example. Goh to Hell.

  • redshirts

Our diversity, not only in our colleges, but in our country, is a strength. And as horrific as this tragedy was, if our diversity becomes a casualty, I think that’s worse.

  • Well, at least the cop got it right.  This asian is a “gentleman”…  Besides, he was being “teased” by “racist” White People so he had every Right to kill them.

  • Shouldn’t there be an age limit to college, much as there is one to try to be a police officer, fireman or military member?

What use is there to allowing a 43 year old non-White, non-citizen entrance into a college?

    Like, why bother?

    • No kidding! Also, one might get the impression America is the only country with colleges for these “students’ to attend. One might also suspect they are here for something other than the top-notch “education” that a school like Oikos University can provide.

    • IstvanIN

Middle aged or older white American’s can attend college if they want, they probably have to pay out of pocket, but aliens of any age need to go home to study.

    • Paisan, colleges care only about one thing regarding numbers- the amount in the student’s wallet, not the amount of age lines in a student’s face!

  • Up to my neck in CA

A list of the “diverse” victims.

Picture: The poor little teased South Korean.

    • IstvanIN

As long as they weren’t white.

    • Mel

He seems to have had issues with women from the gender of his victims. What a tragedy for his family. To lose one son in a car accident and another becomes a mass murderer.

I lived in Korea for a while. Koreans having brain snaps and massacring people wasn’t uncommon, nor were savage murders. I think the main stream media in the West don’t report on it, probably because of language barriers. Also, I think Koreans are sensitive about what information people find out about them; namely they would prefer the truth not to be known.

The loveable, obedient Asian is how they like to portray themselves. They don’t want Western countries knowing about their warts and problem children (as in the ones that massacre and commit brutal murders).

      • Up to my neck in CA

You mean like Woo Bum Kim? Who leads at the top as one of the most prolithic mass killers in history.

        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woo_Bum-kon

        • Mel

I didn’t know about Woo Bum Kim.

The Korean mass killers I’m thinking about are the ones who drive into pedestrians (there is a huge parade square Koreans skate in, in Seoul and they would be mowed down, usually by angry taxi drivers).

There was a group who was cleansing Korea of the very wealthy. The got a list of exclusive customers from a high class department store and kidnapped them and would gradually kill them and then incinerate them. The group were all orphans and had issues with society.

This was back in the early 90s. I have no idea what other mass killers have been causing mayhem in Korea since then.

  • crystal evans

I went on the school’s website and their nursing program is accredited by the State of California so that their graduates can take the licensing exam and become either vocational or registered nurses. This guy is clearly has psychological problems and apprently blamed one female administrator at the school for his problems there. Lucky for her, she was not there but he killed others who were there at the wrong place at the wrong time.

  • IstvanIN

The language barrier may have been the problem.  Isn’t Oikos the Korean word for “Oh, I kill other students”?

  • I read both his mother and brother (who was a Sgt in US Army, during Special Forces training), died about 1 year ago. Goh has had major financial troubles too. He was kicked out of this school months ago for behavioral problems. This wasn’t the result of just “teasing,” although that may have been the “straw that broke the camel’s back” triggering his rampage.

Goh admitted his crimes to a security guard a few miles away. He cooperated with LE today, telling them where he tossed his handgun into SF Bay (not sure if its been found yet).

All in all, like any senseless mass murder, a tragedy and our thoughts and prayers should be with the surviving victims and all who lost loved ones….

Just another example of why everyone should carry a handgun for self-defense everyday — you never know who may cross your path and what issues they’re dealing with

  • No

Looks like One Goh is a no-go.

Was that his real name “One?”  Is this some Korean version of the black predeliction for making up stupid kid names to be cool?

One other thing I picked up on:  The lack of remorse.

    Anders Breivik wasn’t remorseful either.

Probably means nothing – just a coincidence.  I’m used to not seeing remorse in blacks but it’s strange to see the pattern popping up elsewhere.

  • JackKrak

So the media uses Koreans shooting Koreans at a university for Koreans as in indictment of American society for its obsession with guns, etc.

    Oh, ok.

  • Detroit_WASP

School is one of the most dangerous places on earth.  I have three college degrees but still take classes at the community college and I have a license to carry a pistol because I own a business.  The law forbids guns on college campuses.

All I can say about that is….lol

  • “except maybe Jewish people…” ! Lord give me strength.

  • I go by with what I see.

I see asians, excuse me, “orientals” going NOWHERE but to The West and Learning about NOTHING but what WHITE PEOPLE Created and of course, their very own but WHITE PEOPLE PAID FOR, asian studies IN The West.

I see asians still practicing Cruelty like nobody’s business and I see them taking full, unethical advantage of WHITE PEOPLE PAID FOR Social Programs and Fraud?, they’re Experts.

I see Evil Sex Slavery and Sex Trade and I see Starvation that makes America look like everyone’s Fed and Happy.  Oh My God, I think I get it now.  That’s it isn’t it?  Third World Peoples believe America Truly is, Never Never Land and that’s why they come right?

I see asians, I’m sorry, “orientals”, not Proving, not at all, they’re supposed Abilities.  Their Cheating Instincts are Not a Secret and I’ve yet to see them Stand Up Against Non-White Privilege.

I see them selling out America every chance (stolen secrets) they get and I see them never assimilating.  I speak of oriental towns here.

I see them complaining and winning, against AMERICAN VETERANS.  This is in reference to the japs complaining about the Framed and Hung Front Page News Articles about America Bombing their Sorry Asses IN AMERICAN VETERAN’S HOSPITALS!

I see a whole lot of ‘they’re better than us and my goodness, what could we ever do without them’ talk but I see No Proof of them ever taking care of or teaching us anything.

I see they have “rights” to form groups advocating for them but I see none, “non-racist” that is, for Americans.  Americans are White in case you haven’t figured out my Definition of an American yet.

I see they are allowed to be left to their oriental towns while American Towns, every single last one of them, is being FORCED to accept non-white peoples and their cultures, languages, foods, religions and crimes.

I see alot of Double Standard, Double Speak and Double Trouble because of.
