On Newt’s ‘Humane’ Immigration Policy

Thomas Sowell, World Net Daily, November 28, 2011

Now that Newt Gingrich has become the latest in a series of Republican front-runners, he is getting the kinds of scrutiny and attacks that have done in other front-runners.

One of the issues that has aroused concern among conservative Republicans is that of amnesty for illegal immigrants, especially after Gingrich said that it would not be “humane” to deport someone who has been living and working here for years.

Let’s go back to square one. The purpose of American immigration laws and policies is not to be either humane or inhumane to illegal immigrants. The purpose of immigration laws and policies is to serve the national interest of this country.

There is no inherent right to come live in the United States, in disregard of whether the American people want you here. Nor does the passage of time confer any such right retroactively.

{snip}

The more doctrinaire libertarians see the benefits of free international trade in goods and extend the same reasoning to free international movement of people. But goods do not bring a culture with them. Nor do they give birth to other goods to perpetuate that culture.

Why do people want to come to America in the first place? Because America offers them something their native countries do not. This country has a culture that has produced a higher standard of living and a freer life than that of many other countries.

When you import people, you import cultures, including cultures that have been far less successful in providing decent lives and decent livelihoods. The American people have a right to decide for themselves whether they want unlimited imports of cultures from other countries.

At one time, immigrants came to America to become Americans. Today, the apostles of multiculturalism and grievance-mongering have done their best to keep foreigners foreign and, if possible, feeling aggrieved. {snip}

I would like to be able to laud Dr. Sowell for his clever logic. The problem is, here in the real world, free trade and open immigration usually go hand in hand, the more you have of one, the more you’re eventually going to get of the other.

Similarly, when you invade the world, you eventually wind up inviting the world. And if you invite the world, you’ll eventually wind up invading the world.

I would add that when one wishes to be humane, one should be humane to one’s family, community, and country first. The immigration QUISLINGS have been extremely inhumane to their own countrymen. They have subjected their own countrymen to poverty, crime, and the very real possibility of a genocidal war of vengeance for the Mexican loss in the war between Mexico and the United States that Mexico provoked (please see the amren article on the war with Mexico http://www.amren.com/ar/1995/09/.

In fact, the motive of the immigration quislings is apparently anything but a wish to behave in a humane manner. The motives are cheap illegal labor for corporate America, an attack on the once majority white “Anglo” culture, and a divide and conquer strategy to weaken the resolve and power of those opposed to the encroaching police state and elitist globalist control apparatus.

There is no inherent right to come live in the United States, in disregard of whether the American people want you here.

Professor Sowell is of course right, but our traitorous elites continually maintain through their media pulpits and have convinced many people that: 1) All of us have a crying need for “diversity” – that is, to have our nation become as multiracial, as multireligious, as multiethnic and as polyglot as possible; 2) America has to continually suck in huge numbers of low wage immigrants to stay “competitive” in the world economy; and that therefore, 3) What the American people want doesn’t matter one whit when it comes to immigration, especially since given enough immigration, the American people will in time no longer be the American people.

I’ll agree that the “humane” position will not sit well with conservatives however the opposite stance will be more disastrous.

The bottom line is that we have to expel the Obama administration and all it’s minions. There is no other way to save this country and I am one who doesn’t agree with that particular approach to immigration. However it’s nose on your face obvious that Newt has offered ideas leading to solutions instead of the talking points that are being repeated ad nauseum at the so called debates. We’ve got to look beyond the professorial demeanor that for some reason turns off some people and look at the fact that he has substance and gravitas.

The pathetic “Repubs” who thought that if we come up with a Blacker Black guy than the present POTUS we would sweep the election are mindless idiots.

MIchelle Bachman is attractive. Nothing more to see here.

Rick Santorum is a nice, good living guy. I trust that he’ll continue to be so as an inspiration to the rest of us.

Houseman lacks the “je ne sais quoi”.

    Ron Paul is a nut.

Mitt Romney is the well groomed, manly jawed living version of Guy Smiley from Sesame St. and is also addicted to his talking points

Rick Perry is a Texas version of Fredo Corleone.”Ahm smawt! I can handle things!”

I have to say that it looks as though the Democrats picked these candidates.

Bill Clinton complemented Newt the other day. I’m beginning to think that either he want’s to see Newt’s candidacy because he thinks that Newt would be easily defeated or he’s showing his absolute contempt for Obama and is anticipating a challenge from Hillary.

My bottom line is that Newt is the guy that we need. Is he perfect? No, but he’s the only guy who can beat Obama. He’ll definitely out debate him but that won’t matter to the vast underclass who represent the Democratic base because they won’t watch the debates and of they did they wouldn’t understand them. What we need is for every White voter to do what’s best for us.

Sowell is dancing around the fundmental issue with the abstract language of rights. Don’t play this game. We are under no obligation to justify our existence as a racial majority within the borders of America. Just state it like this with no punches pulled:We oppose post-1965 nonwhite immigration policy because it will reduce Native Born White American to an ever dwindling racial minority within the borders of America…surrounded by a heavily armed and hostile high fertility non-white majority.

But if you are a numbersusa.com liberal you write silly things along the lines of “if only there were 10,000 Thomas Sowells.” White political liberals in the immigration reform movement are incapable of taking their own side in the immigration debate…instead, they hide behind a Conservative Black Male. What a bunch of spineless cowards.

And some of you out there:please spare us the Thomas Sowell for President nonesense Only a deracinated White Fool would want a Black Conservative to defend our racial interests..which of course they won’t.

Texas — which I just left because of the majority mexican problem — is on the front line in suffering because of the inferior culture these people insist on setting up in a first-world country. It’s obvious from day to day exposure that they will forever be incapable of attaining a higher standard of living, much less even aspire to it. The intelligence, motivation, and basic morality simply isn’t there.

Something rather amusing I saw in my Oregon hotel today: A white maid! I haven’t seen a caucasian maid in, well … ever. There are, of coure, mexicans here but practically no blacks at all. The hispanic population is almost nil compared to any place in Texas. I’m not naive, though, and I wonder how long this area will remain majority white. I certainly intend to enjoy it while I can.

Look at Republican nominees, going back. McCain. Bush. Dole. Bush. Reagan. 30+ years of “moderate” wimps on social conservatism. The real right wing is a small part of that party.

The usually sober and thoughtful Wall Street Journal, on issues other than immigration, outdoes Newt Gingrich’s claim that it would not be “humane” to deport illegal immigrants who have been living here a long time. A Wall Street Journal editorial says that it would be “psychotic” to do so.

I am getting really angry at all the Illegals screaming that they have a a RIGHT to come here with no restrictions by US.They come here because they are not capable of creating a society that they desire to live in. And their white liberal sympathizers whine that they are only trying to “improve” their live.I can think of a few hundred ways I can imprive MY life, and most of them would be rather unpleasant to a lot of others.

  • GrouchoMarxist

It is worse than Newt. Newt is at least out front on the amnesty issue (Perry light)- Path to Citizenship. What frosts me is the weasel words of Mitt Romney: Romney said that he would have a path to citizenship but would have the illegals have to get in back of the line behind all those people who are trying to get into the country legally. Of course the illegals here in the country would wait in line here, while all those waiting to get into the U.S. would wait in their native countries. Since the typical illegal in the U.S. could not care less about citizenship (they only want to be legal enough to get on SSI and other benefits, as well as not have to worry about those pesky INS people) they will wait for a hundred years for the benefits of citizenship. Romney appears to me (I await argument) to be almost the same as Perry and company on the issue.(Just not for the DREAM Act)

Dr. Sowell makes eminent good sense – as usual. And, as usual, our greedy, moronic, mostly evil, ruling class, will pay little or no attention to this if they even read it at all. I’ve called and written many times to try to point facts and opinions such as these to my own representatives and senators – to no avail. I’ve even tried to appeal to their own feelings of care and love for their own family members. I’ve pointed out that they will have progeny in the future, and that progeny will, in all likelihood live here. Do they not care about their future children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren? The answer, based on their actions, is a resounding no. That explains why we live by such short-sighted policies in the U.S. We have leaders who don’t have “the vision thing…” (a mocking quotation of George H.W. Bush) at all. So they are incapable of giving a damn!

Sad! When they are old enough to dote on their grandchildren, it will be far too late. This wonderful thing of ours will die, and we will inherit a new African state. “New Africa” (can you even envision such a horror?) might be a good name for what is coming. Chaotic, dirty, savage, nasty, brutish! These will be the adjectives that describe the coming misery that we will face when the U.S. ends. I hope that some of us will remain to deal with the remnants of this ruling class in the way that they so richly deserve.

Kind of makes me wonder if ole Newt’s got something to hide here…nanny, housekeeper, groundskeeper, rendezvous with a dark-eyed beauty resulting in a little Newt Pedro. Why oh why can’t these people understand it’s the law! And we’ve got enough people in the US as it is without loading up on more third worlders.

Of course. Also if you send someone back is it possible you could employ an american who was born in the USA. You know, a citizen who needs a job.

He told me he called a temp agency today and the guy at the other end talked to him for a few minutes and said there was nothing available and then said in almost a whisper that “the Mexicans are getting all the jobs.”

Now there’s a movement to reintro Sarah Palin. I sometimes suspect that the Republicans are working hand in hand with the Dems. to unravel this society. I’ve had flashbacks of George Wallace declaring , ” Theyah ain’t a dahms woith a difference butween Republicans and Democrats”. That was back in the sixties. The man was soooo right.

I’ve nothing against Sarah. She’s pretty and a great crowd pleaser but President?

How about Andrea Tantaros or Kimberly Guilfoyle? Julie Banderas? Juliet Huddy? Ainsley Erhardt? If looks were the criterion then BHL would get his butt kicked by any of the above in 2012!

If we don’t beat Obama the Black “comoonity’s” Carte Blanche to do anything that strikes their fancy will be validated and if we DO beat him there will be a total Black uprising.

That being said, Cheaper Than Dirt is running some good sales on ammo. Check out their Website.

Dr. Sowell has just expressed one of the reasons I am not a pure libertarian. Libertarianism is a great model but, like all models, it has it’s limits.

PS – I hold Dr. Sowell in the highest regard. A keen mind and a class act.

You’re not alone. We are close to losing our home now. We went to a HUD foreclosure prevention lecture and then to our appointment. Our counselor was fluent in Spanish and treated us rudely, never allowing us to ask one question while he told us to sell our stuff and be ready to move. The HUD approved office messed up one of our SS# for the credit report and when we pointed it out in an email, we were dismissed for being too difficult. This just happened to us.

    Whites, get ready.

  • white advocate – Canada

It’s interesting to compare the American narrative with the Canadian one. We both need stories to justify what we are doing. Newt is all about the American Dream and protecting immigrants who follow it. This is close to being sacred in America. Sowell is all about a national debate deciding what is best for the nation. How dare anyone interfere with freedom of speech! From the Canadian view, we despair that we don’t have a debate like you guys. There is no Sowell side up here in public. Yet, I have noticed a new theme being introduced up here. In addition to economic benefits, refugee rights, and family unification, we should also receive immigration because we are nice to needy people. Canada needs to live up to its international reputation of being generous. So we are told.

How about rephrasing that statement, Newt? “I plan to reward those who’ve broken the law the longest.”

    No, Dr. Sowell.

At one time, ONLY White “immigrants” were to be Americans. This nation was created and built for free White men. End of story.

NON-white foreigners ARE foreign and will ALWAYS remain that way all by themselves without any help from those “apostles” you speak of. Different races of people can NEVER live together in ANY nation and you should know that, Dr. Sowell, but you sure won’t tell that truth because that means even you should not be here.

Will these people ever get over what others think about them and do the right thing? Newt wants to be thought of as humane, does he? How about you think about the good of your constituency..ya know, the people that vote you in. That’s your job. Something else you’ll find in the Northwest is lots of landscaping, lawn services peopled by white men. All white roofing crews, etc. It gives the lie to the claim we have heard in the Southwest for decades that whites won’t do the work. Like the poster who told how her husband was quietly told that the temp agencies are hiring only Mexicans, there is a point where they simply take over an occupation. Whites used to do a great deal of the harvesting in California, I know because I used to do it as a teen, and know elders who did it all their young lives. Now, it is just assumed that we need millions of new Mexicans a year to do it our we will starve.

The time has come however, for whites to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty again. It’s our land, lets make it work for us. They talk about getting work for 14 year olds; that’s when I was picking tomatoes in the San Joaquin Valley! Now, whites who want to harvest get turned away.

I am wondering how #4 knows that Ron Paul is a nut. Maybe his comrades at msnbc told him so. As I have noted before, Ron Paul is not our race realist cohort. However, the net effect of a Ron Paul, strict Constitutionalist administration, would be to eliminate welafre, food stamps,Medicaid, and all the other goodies that makes America an illegal immigrant magnet. These policies would surely discourage the current moochers. (It would also discourage our fine black friends from having welfare babies, & it would eliminate our wonderful housing projects, breeding ground for…breeders.) So, if we demand 200% purity, no candidates are good enough. But in a realistic world, Ron Paul will do more to advance the historic American nation than any other candidate, by a mile.

Newt, like #4, is a stooge for the death of America, although he will sometimes say meaningless words, never backed up by action, to encourage gullible patriots to vote for him.

Some “wiggle room” is imperative in any future policy that is to

serve our national interest. Upon our yet great university campuses, there will be multitudes of exchange students–and

especially from PRC–that will possess the talents and “g” factor

offers. No great imperialism can survive without “harvesting and

harnessing” such persons to its security.

I don’t think either of the candidates, or any of the candidates, are going to do anything about unwanted immigration. However, the way the story was covered, or framed, I think, was in a positive way for our side. Newt’s kind of tough stance against illegals, ever calling for certain ones among them to be kicked out, his position is considered to be the moderate or soft position on the issue.

  • Mr.White

What’s so “inhumane” about returning someone to their RIGHTFUL country of citizenship? I have yet to hear this question addressed. If we are going to surrender our country to mexican invaders, we should at least be given an answer to this basic question!

The only hypothetical candidate who would even begin to save us would be David

Duke. There is no way he or similar would ever win, unfortunately. It doesn’t matter which candidate wins the Republican primary. And it doesn’t matter whether or not Obama is reelected. All of our elite politicians are essentially the same. A victorious Republican may throw us a few crumbs, but nothing significant will change.

Oh, by the way, if a white Republican wins, he will be our last white president. After four years, he will be shaking hands on inauguration day with the next Robert Mugabe, or the next Hugo Chavez. The only way to stop this nightmare is to revolt.

Gingrich’s plan, like George Bush’s before him, is the only remotely practical plan I have ever heard of. I wouldn’t see the need to grant citizenship or voting rights but only amnesty from deportation.

Massive roundups and deportations would involve civil rights issues and huge staffing and facility demands for bureacracy and policing. Let’s not go there.
