Only 7% of Detroit Public-School 8th Graders Proficient in Reading

Terence P. Jeffrey, CNS News, December 11, 2012

In the public schools in Detroit, Mich., according to the U.S. Department of Education, only 7 percent of the eighth graders are grade-level proficient or better in reading.

Some public school teachers in the City of Detroit and around the state of Michigan are reportedly taking a vacation or a sick day today to protest right-to-work legislation likely to be approved by the state legislature. Under current law, Michigan public school teachers must pay dues to the teachers’ union. If the right-to-work law is enacted, Michigan public-school teachers will be free to join the union and pay dues to it if they wish, but they will also be free not to join the union and not to pay it dues.

Detroit public-school eighth graders do even worse in math than they do in reading, according to the Department of Education. While only 7 percent scored highly enough on the department’s National Assessment of Educational Progress test in 2011 to be rated “proficient” or better in reading, only 4 percent scored highly enough to be rated “proficient” or better in math.

Statewide in Michigan, only 32 percent of public-school eighth graders scored grade-level proficient or better in reading, and only 31 percent scored grade-level proficient or better in math.

This story is usually mentioned in context with the RTW question in Michigan.

Unrelated, because the reason that only 7% of Detroit public fool system 8th graders are proficient in reading has nothing to do with their teachers having union cards. It’s all the racial demographics of the students.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Aunti-Occupy/100003232140389 Aunti Occupy

      Seven Percent?

Its probably not even that high. If you look close at the results none of them are proficient. Why should Detroit be any different the DC or any other black run school. No one has to know how to read in America any more. What happen to all the book stores?

      • Puggg

You have a point. “Proficiency,” as it’s defined here and officially, is basically a kiddie pool version of reading. Let’s not kid ourselves into thinking that even 7% of Detroit’s 14-year olds are reading books written before 1900 and at least 200 pages long.

        • http://countenance.wordpress.com/ Question Diversity

Only 4% in math. And I doubt that the test had even simple algebra on it.

A certain teacher we know on AR e-mailed me sample questions from a practice version of the California state high school exit exam, which I am told are very well representative of the real thing. They are so mind numbingly easy that I keep thinking to myself that this teacher is playing a practical joke on me, but she’s not. So you gotta figure that tests to determine the “proficiency” of 13- and 14-year olds in various subjects would not present much challenge to Piltdown Man.

  • Ed_NY

I am suprised that the numbers are as good as they are. These numbers are probably artificially inflated.

  • Vonhauer

Although I’ve only taught mathematics at the college-level, I always had my hands full with black students. Even basic algebra required extra effort. By the time the students are ready for Calc III, no blacks remain. Only whites and Asians.

    • i am

I had 3 blacks in my calc 3 class. I don’t know how well they did. I know 1 black woman was taking it for the second time. She was actually from some french speaking country in Africa. There were quite a few people from Napal, India and the middle East. I think there were only 6 whites in a class of 60 people. Over half were Asian.

      • Bon, From the Land of Babble

My son told me that there were NO blacks or hispanics in his Boolian Algebra, Linear Algebra or Java classes but there were several in his psychology class — one said she was switching at the semester from bio to sociology.

I blame teachers in the K-12 schools for telling blacks and browns that they can “be anything they want” — they CAN’T be “anything they want” with their inherent low IQs. I’ve seen 11th graders, reading on a 4th grade level, raise their hands and state emphatically that they were going to be lawyers or doctors or scientists — and teachers and administrators applauding this and egging them on.

It is exactly as Thomas Sowell writes: When blacks are admitted under AA policies to colleges far past their inherent abilities and inevitably fail, they do one of two things: either drop out or become extremely agitated and declare the entire system racist.

        Bon

        • Strider73

And they drop out with monstrous debt from student loans they can never repay (and can’t be discharged in bankruptcy).

This is a problem for all races, but at least most whites and Asians will end up with a degree, and therefore a better chance of paying the loans off.

          • ed

            which is more rewarding?
            having a degree or AA

          • Michael_C_Scott

Neither. The most rewarding is being smart enough to have a degree and not need AA, but you were probably not looking for a recursive answer of that nature.

  • Michael_C_Scott

I think it should be illegal for public-sector workers to form unions or go on strike. Fire them all, blacklist them, and start over from a clean slate.

    • The__Bobster

Even FDR thought it was a conflict of interest.

      • Strider73

So did the late George Meany, rabid unionist and president of the AFL-CIO.

    • Xerxes22

It is already illegal for public-sector workers to go on strike. However every worker public or private should have the right to form a union to bargin for better wages, benifits and working conditions.

      • SLCain

Public employees should not be able to collectively bargain, because the people with whom they are negotiating are spending someone else’s mone (ours). Management (government) can cave into ridiculous demands, because – hey, it isn’t their money. They can just tax us more.

Also, public employees should never be allowed to lobby legislatures and contribute money to them, both things that unions do.

Public employee unions are most definitely a conflict of interest.

        • Strider73

You’re 100% correct about govt. employees and their unions’ conflicts of interest.

I would take it farther and contend that govt. employees should not be allowed to vote at the level of govt. where they’re employed. That means:

          * federal employees should not vote for president or Congress
          * state employees should not vote for governor, any other statewide office or the legislature

And so on down the line.

This obviously would not apply to govt. employees who don’t live in the same jurisdiction where they’re employed. For example, an employee of Jones County who lives in Smith County would still be able to vote at the county level, since he already can’t vote in Jones County.

Implementing this policy would not be difficult. Voter registration cards would simply have restriction codes where applicable, the same as driver’s licenses.

          • Stan_Mute

Carry that thought to the next step. You are almost there. But you must separate voting from government payoff entirely.

Every person should complete a tax form that identifies the source of their income. If they receive more from government in payments than they contribute in taxes, they must not be permitted to vote at all. Simply prohibiting them from voting in certain jurisdictions does no good for they will vote for more government in every other jurisdiction and the net result would be the same.

          • Michael_C_Scott

            Yes, and brilliant!

      • Luca

A strike should be considered a breach of contract followed by disciplinary action. It is blackmail. The unions, like spoiled children, are saying give me what I want or I will put you out of business. I worked in Gov’t the unions can and do strike. Reagan did the right thing with the Air Traffic Controllers.

        • http://countenance.wordpress.com/ Question Diversity

I can count in my family tree people who are related to me either consanguintely or affinitely by first cousinhood or closer six life long union members: Five Teamsters and a UAW.

That said, Reagan was right re PATCO. If Coke workers go on strike, soda lovers can drink Pepsi. The world doesn’t stop spinning. If ATCers strike, planes don’t fly, and the economy is severely damaged. The PATCO employees, Federal employees, willingly and knowingly traded some collective bargaining privileges for working for an institution that can take money from you and I using the barrel of a gun in order to have money to pay them.

Hilariously, the black leftist head of the NFL Players Union is trying to find a way for the NFLPA to show “solidarity” with the “labor movement” in the wake of Michigan moving from closed shop to open shop. The first time the NFLPA does whatever they decide to do will be the first time in its history that it has ever showed “solidarity” with the stereotypical member of a labor union. If the peanut vendors at an NFL stadium go on strike, do you think the NFLPA members will cross the picket line so it can play its precious game? No, because the NFLPA (association of millionaires, not a “real” union) members need their paychecks, because weed and bling and making it rain in a strip club and child support checks come first.

          • Luca

Unions no longer serve the workers, they serve the politicians. Reminds me of the Communist Party in USSR. If you didn’t belong to the party you got no where and were ostracized, the higher up on the ladder you were in the Party the better your life was. You are basically forced to join the union and to turn over a percentage of your wages to them, they negotiate with the very people that they helped get elected (with workers’ dues) and in the end the union member and the taxpayer lose..Furthermore, they always ask for more, more, more $ and the workers are never expected to produce more although they usually produce less. Unions are now a political weapon…plain and simple.

Please, don’t you worry your little ol’ heads off! The superintendent will throw out all questions the minorities missed, with the complete approval of the mayor and city council. Next, we can see articles in USA Today and the New York Times marveling how Detroit’s school children have raised their test scores, while the Teacher of the Year Award will go to a teacher in Detroit’s school system. White people will be none the wiser as more $,$$$ are taken from their paychecks to pay for these poor, sweet, innocent, single parent, children.

I am waiting to see what Bon, From the Land of Babble has to say about this. I doubt there is much we can do with a race that was still hunting wild animals with stone age weapons, and gathering wild plants when whites and Orientals were building civilizations that had systems of writing and mathematics.

The most we can hope to do is to educate the minority that is capable of performing and behaving as well as the majority of whites and Orientals, while subduing the majority with the fear of punishment at the same time that we discourage them from having more illegitimate children.

    • The__Bobster

Why do you capitalize your sainted orientals, John Chinaman, while not capitalizing Whites? Is one of your girlfriends standing on a box and looking over your shoulder?

      • C_C_Conrad

        Just for your edification.
        ………

        Places and geographic terms
The capitalization of geographic terms in English text generally depends on whether the author perceives the term as a proper noun,
in which case it is capitalized, or as a combination of an established
proper noun with a normal adjective or noun, in which case the latter
are not capitalized[clarification needed]. There are no universally agreed lists of English geographic terms which are considered as proper nouns. The following are examples of rules that some British and U.S. publishers have established in style guides for their authors:
In general, the first letter is capitalized for well-defined regions, e.g. South America, Lower California, Tennessee Valley[1]
This general rule also applies to zones of the Earth’s surface (North Temperate Zone, the Equator)[2]
In other cases, do not capitalize the points of the compass (north
China, south-east London) or other adjectives (western Arizona, central
New Mexico, upper Yangtze, lower Rio Grande)
Capitalize generic geographic terms that are part of a place name (Atlantic Ocean, Mt. Muztagata, River Severn)
Otherwise, do not capitalize a generic term that follows a capitalized generic term (Yangtze River valley)
Use lower case for plurals of generic terms (Gobi and Taklamakan deserts); but “the Dakotas”
Only capitalize “the” if it is part of the (short-form) formal place name (The Gambia, The Hague vs. the Netherlands, the Sudan, and the Philippines)
Upper case: East Asia, South-East Asia, Central Asia, Central America, North Korea, South Africa, the North Atlantic, the Middle East, The Arctic, The Hague, The Gambia
Lower case: the Philippines, western China, southern Beijing,
western Mongolia, eastern Africa, northern North Korea, the central
        Gobi, the lower Yangtze River.

          • IstvanIN

Let’s be honest here, there are plenty of ugly Chinese women. In fact a man was granted a divorce because he found out his wife, pre-plastic surgery, was ugly.

Go shopping at Great Wall once in a while. I see lots of dumpy orientals.

          • Michael_C_Scott

Plenty of fat ones in Thailand, but for the most part, food simply costs too much out that way, and commuting is frequently done on public transportation, which always involves plenty of walking.

          • JohnEngelman

That is what I though the first time I saw Oriental girls when I was about seven years old. I thought, “With white girls some are pretty, and some are not. With Oriental girls all of them are pretty.” When they are all pretty, looking the same is a positive attribute.

          • ed

I’ve lived in Korea for two years and Vietnam for one and there are ugly asian girls……….

perhaps a small % less than whites but not much……..

and I think most Asian women are beautiful, between the ages of 15 and 35.
those ages go for most beautiful women, IMO

          • fakeemail

They may all look the same, but they’re thin, smart, and they don’t spend their 20s sleeping around with “cool guys”.

If there would be any immigrant group I’d want to be sent to us it would be Asian FEMALES. It would give decent white men more options and thereby force a larger percentage of white women to wise up an act right.

While you’re fetishizing the docile, loyal, asiatic woman, may I remind you that there are plenty of them, especially 2nd and 3rd generation, with tall, dark and jobless/homicidal men on their arms. But you’re correct, there is a pandemic lack of maternal instinct, patriotism and racial loyalty among the true gems of our race. Miscegination is however, not the solution. Ever, under any circumstances. Wach auf!

          • fakeemail

Those are the ones fresh off the boat. The Americanized Asian woman is educated, feminine, polite, and probably makes more bread than most white men.

There’s a reason white women get their hackles up about asian women. It also has to do with the fact that the asian gals pick up the stable white man who the white woman expects to wait around and play Captain Save-a-Ho.

          • Skincognito

“Captain Save-a-Ho?” Cute. And you’re Dr. Dateless Dork awaiting rescue from Princess Love-You-Long-Time. Weird man. Lay off the White woman hating and do some research into Asian sex slavery/degeneracy. Or just move to Hawaii or the Phillipines and leave America’s problems and future to patriotic White men, aka “race realists.”

I took a Vietnamese class for fun a couple of decades ago. The teacher told the class (full of Whites) that Vietnamese marvel about how different white people are. Hair and eye color, curly and straight hair, freckles, etc. — truly amaze them. So it’s agreed, even the Asians think they all look alike! Oh! And they all think blacks are ugly and stupid. True story.

          • Strider73

I suspect we all look the same to them as well.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the blacks weren’t even hunting and gathering but scavenging. Modern history makes me assume scavenging, it’s so fitting. Once I read of a man who owned a pet wolf and a pet mountain lion. He raised them together from the time they were infants. They were close friends. Then for some reason that I forget he sold each to a different person. They were very sad to be apart, so he bought them back. They were delighted to be together again.

        I like stories like that.

      • JohnEngelman

The Great Society was a noble endeavor that failed because the races are not intrinsically comparable. The War on Poverty encouraged millions of blacks to quit low wage jobs and go on welfare. Welfare rolls increased during the 1960s, even while the unemployment rate declined. Whites and Orientals are less likely to behave that way.

There was even a welfare rights movement, that encouraged the process. Many of these welfare recipients supplemented their welfare checks with the gains from criminal activities.

        • ed

I don’t think it was that noble………. any one with some common sense would’ve known it was going to end badly

      • SLCain

John Engelman has admitted here at this website that he voted FOR Obama. He voted FOR increasing the welfare state that empowers blacks to live off of us. He voted FOR affirmative action at our expense. He voted FOR a justice department that spares no expense to root out white thought-crime, but turns a blind eye to black violence.

Remember that next time you read, or comment on, something he writes. John Englement voted no different than did those black school administrators.

        • Bon, From the Land of Babble

          SLCain:

I am very aware of Mr. Engelman’s political leanings and voting habits.

I have been in a number of flame wars with him over the years, some very heated, both on and off line about various political issues: FDR and The Great Depression, Austrian vs. Keynesian Economics, Krugman vs. Laffer’s Curve, Taxes on the “Rich,” Asians vs. Whites, Republicans vs. Democrats and whether Whites are being genocided or not.

John and I agree on very few issues, one of which is the futility of educating blacks and browns past a very rudimentary level because of their low IQs as compared to Whites. I know a lot about this issue because I worked in a majority black school for a number of years (it was absolute hell, believe me! I almost lost my health and my sanity). I have written reams about this over the years on this forum.

Notice I was making a comment, gave my opinion as to how I see the situation in Detroit — not trying to engage Mr. Engelman or anyone else in a debate or discussion.

I longer care to do that — been there/done that, as is said in modern English vernacular.

And, with that said, I DO like Mr. Engelman’s avatar.

All the best to you, Mr. Cain. I always enjoy reading your commentary.

All the best to you too, Sir.

        • JohnEngelman

          St.Cain,

You are mistaken. I did not admit that I voted for Barack Obama. I bragged about it.

I also look forward to the demise of the Republican Party over the immigration issue. There are various constituencies in the Democratic Party, but they are not bitterly divided. The Republican Party is divided between white blue collar Republicans who want to stop immigration entirely and to locate and expel illegal immigrants, and Republican employers who want more immigrants in order to reduce wages.

According to a Gallup poll released December 12, 2012 35 percent of Americans want immigration to the United States to be reduced. 63 percent want it to remain the same or increased. In other words, 63 percent want whites to eventually or more quickly become a minority party in the United States.

          http://www.gallup.com/poll/1660/immigration.aspx

I have mixed feelings about this. I am part of the 35 part of the country who want more restrictions on legal immigration. I also favor expelling illegals. Nevertheless, I oppose the Republican Party for other reasons.

When the Republican Party became the party of whites of all income groups it had the wind at its back. Now that the percentage of non whites in the electorate is increasing, the wind is shifting. The GOP will never win the votes of most blacks and Hispanics. Unless it wins the votes of the majority Jews and Asians it is doomed. I do not think it can win their votes.

For me the main issue is unemployment. We should have learned during the administrations of Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush that tax cuts for the rich do not lead to jobs for the unemployed. They also do not reduce the national debt.

I also dislike an economy where the rich keep getting richer, while the median income adjusted for inflation declines.

The leaders of the Republican Party like a reasonably high degree of unemployment because it relieves employers of the need to compete for employees. Consequently, economic growth goes to profits, rather than pay checks. That is what happened when Ronald Reagan was president, and what has been happening since Bill Clinton left office.

          • Luca

The rich will always get richer, the middle class will always be in the middle and the poor are with us always. Some will naturally elevate themselves (including the rich), the majority will not. The rich, generally speaking are smarter and have developed lifestyle and business practices that have enabled them to become richer. (I have been on both sides of that coin.) By and large, they do it legally and ethically although we know there are always exceptions, especially with ethics. The poor tend to have a mindset of living in the moment, my dad was like that, always working and always poor. Whether they have $1 or $1000 to their name they find ways to spend it, some of it not so wisely. So when the rich become richer, isn’t that to be expected? if you think income tax increases are the answer, I disagree. This is a big picture to take in but to put it simply, what do think happens when you punish success and reward failure? Look at France, raising the tax rate to 75%, does that help their economy? The richest (again with intelligence and smart habits) are picking up and moving over the border to Belgium. Who benefits? Belgium will now have some high-end consumers. Who loses? France, who will have an ever increasing third-world problem on their hands because of politically-correct thinking about income tax, immigration, unions and diversity. Taxing income, investments and production is a slippery slope. Taxing spending is a better idea. Very few people stop buying goods because of a sales tax. If it hurts the poor disproportionately then maybe they’ll have to buy less expensive cell phones, tennis shoes, tattoos, cigarettes, beer, etc and who knows, maybe they will become a bit more frugal.

Let me play a little bit of devil’s advocate with you. “Legally” means square with the law. Could it be that they do it legally because they have the economic steam to have laws written in their favor?

Absolutely, however that usually applies to the ultra-rich, politicians, lawyers, mega-corporations, political contributors and labor unions. Just like the IRS legally takes your money out of your kids mouth and hands it over to who ever votes for their boss..ethical?…NO, legal?… absolutely.

I addition to having voted for Barack Obama I love Jews, Judaism and Israel. I also admire Orientals, especially Chinese.

Then go to the other side of the room. You have strong opinions, but you are poorly informed, and contribute little or nothing of value to an intelligent discussion of controversial issues.

You have strong – and stupid – opinions. Incoherent, actually. I am much better informed than you, apparently.

I wonder what the numbers would be for teachers as well as students. Remember, the superintendent of Detroit public schools is an illiterate.

Remember, the superintendent of Detroit public schools is an illiterate.

I remember that story. And, yet, they claim it doesn’t prevent him from doing his job. So, does anyone still wonder why Tyreefus and Shaneekwa don’t see a need to learn reading, writing, arithmetic and other white-folk stuff?

  • Luca

I believe this problem would be solved if we would only spend more money on education.
If only the rich would pay their fare share then we would be able to help those among us who are less fortunate, like these poor unfortunate waifs in Motown. (sarcasm)

International Test Scores Expose US Education Problem

The top 20 reading scores had these White nations in them…
    4.Finland
    7.United States-White
    8.Canada
    9.New Zealand
    11. Australia
    12. Netherlands
    13. Belgium
    14.Norway
    15.Estonia
    16.Switzerland
    17.Poland
    18.Iceland
    19.America as a whole
    20.Lichtenstein
    43.United States-Hispanics
The only Spanish-speaking country that beat that out was Spain at 35.
    United States-Black was 50.

    • pcmustgo

      20.Lichtenstein = Israel, right?

      Thanks

      • Triarius

No, it’s a tiny, tiny country in Western Europe, almost like a large city really, like San Marino.

        • IstvanIN

Run by a Prince whose brother married a black!

  • Triarius

Was just reading about this on another site. Does this mean that 93% of all students will be held back a year? Most shouldn’t have made it to the 8th grade to begin with.

Funniest comment I saw on the other site: “I didn’t know Detroit was still 7% white.”

    • Skincognito

Nice. Of course the Arabs, Hmong and the stranded working class Whites might, as an aggregate, actually form this tiny literate cohort. Interesting point, and no I am not an asianphile.

On a slightly different note, try teaching these simeons German when they are actively discouraged from learning the Queen’s. I’ve done this at the beginning college level and it’s only funny for a week or two. In the long run, it’s taken years off of my life. I also suspect that their reading lists are remedial in comparsion to what I read in Catholic elementary school.

      • pcmustgo

“””Nice. Of course the Arabs, Hmong and the stranded working class Whites might, as an aggregate, actually form this tiny literate cohort. Interesting point, and no I am not an asianphile.””””

I never called you a sinophile I called JohnEngelman that below, hence my response to him and not you. Unless of course you have multiple accounts and are forgetful.

And yes, most proficient ones are the Iraqis and Lebanese that are in west Detroit, next to Dearborn. Never understood the Hmong thing. In the 20+ years I grew up in the Metro Detroit area I have never heard of or seen a Hmong community. Except for that Gran Torino movie.

        • Skincognito

I wasn’t being defensive with my denial of orientalism, just clarifying my loyalty. There are weird Asians around Hamtramk, I assume they’re Hmong, but frankly don’t care. But you’re spot on, Warrendale Ayrabs (not a typo, spelling it the way we say it) and the Hamtramk Yemeni, as much as I hate to admit it, are probably driving up Detroit test scores, along with the holdout Whites in the Southwest, Brightmoor and Warrendale. Sad state of affairs. All the best.

          • Skincognito

Ah, notice I’ve ignored mexicantown. No accident of mine, an abject failure on their part.

There are a few old whites, a handful of hipsters, and some non-whites who are counted as whites, like some arabs, some latinos and a few others. I remember as a small child going to visit my cousin’s family just outside Hamtramck 25 years ago. It was still an all white neighborhood even then. Drove through there recently. Times have changed. Boy how they have changed!

      • AngryWhiteMan

” some non-whites who are counted as whites, like some arabs, some latinos”

Nothing spells a winning movement like excluding certain groups from your ranks arbitrarily. I’m sure White Nationalism will go so far by alienating millions of potential allies needlessly.

        • Skincognito

Allies? So we can recruit/convert Mestizos and Asians to Whiteness? Well that proposition doesn’t sound very realistic at all. I think you’re missing the point of the article. Some people are incapable of functioning in a highly developed society. Non-White outliers do not change this fact, but rather ought to reinforce our committment to keeping the West Western.
Stay angry, White and masculine. Best o’ luck.

          • Bill

Ignore AWM. Despite the screen name I am now positive he is merely a liberal troll trying to masquerade as a white nationalist. If he WERE a white nationalist, in fact, he’d not always be going on about how we have to include mestizos, Arabs, etc as WHTES. He’d know the difference.

          • AngryWhiteMan

            What’s the difference?

          • AngryWhiteMan

when the “outliers” consist of entire ethnic groups, it may be time to reconsider.

Our primary enemies are Negros and the Jews that give them power. No other groups are so diametrically opposed to white interests.

        • Stan_Mute

          “Excluding entire ethnic groups”?

You mean like the Irish? And the Polacks? Or maybe those spaghetti-bending Italians?

Or do you really mean “entire *racial* groups” like Amerindian, mestizos, and East Asians?

Because while I think the *ethnic* groups can be assimilated quite easily, I just cannot envision the Indians and mestizos getting all wrapped up in an alliance with Caucasians to demand a homeland for Caucasians. Seems to me, the Indians/mestizos and the East Asians already have homelands of their own which are quite free of the African plague and, since they (ESP Asians) compete with Caucasians for resources and power, they might just prefer things exactly as they are.

  • http://www.newnation.org/ sbuffalonative

    7%? It’s that high? I’m surprised.

  • pcmustgo

Let’s not forget that only about 45% of White Children at any given place are “Proficient” in this stuff. Much better than blacks, but just saying. To the Left or to the Right of the Bell Curve.

    • http://twitter.com/seedymedia r j p

It should be higher than that, if not the tests may be skewed ……. or maybe too many white children have to go to school with too many black children.

    • Triarius

I can’t believe it is 45%, not calling you a liar, just disbelief. Also White/Caucasian usually includes everyone from Pakistan to Algiers.

I’m willing to bet U.S. born whites of European origin is somewhere around 80%.

      • MoreEveryDay

It seems that “proficiency” as defined for the NAEP does not mean “achieving at grade level,” like the term does for No Child Left Behind, but is in fact a much higher standard of achievement. It’s very complicated, but I’ve seen it compared to getting an “A”, for example.

  • Jefferson

Detroit has the Blackest public school district in the country so why are they performing so poorly, when according to Hollywood movies most Blacks are high I.Q scientists, doctors, lawyers, etc and all of the White people are dumber than a caveman.

    • Mel

I think the problem is racist. Whitey won’t give them eager young minds the text books they need to excel and those old school houses with no heat are just dreadful. No wonder those black chilrun can’t keep up. Whitey needs to step up and do what’s right.

    • Stan_Mute

To judge by the recent election, at least 40% of whites ARE “dumber than a caveman” and have taken to heart all the myriad movies and tv shows where a “brilliant black man” (aka magical negro) as President confidently and skillfully leads the USA to Utopia.

Our problem is not now, nor ever has been the Africans, the Indians, the mestizos, and most certainly NOT the Jews (who are among our smartest and most productive citizens). The problem is STUPID WHITE PEOPLE who buy the latest line of commie/socialist created BS. When whites, as a group, cannot agree that being preyed upon (thousands of times every day!) by a violent and hate filled minority population is against our interest and must at any cost be stopped immediately and forcefully, it makes me wonder if we are well-suited for survival (on an evolutionary time scale).

Our demographic crisis didn’t happen overnight. Millions and millions of whites sat back and did NOTHING while their elected representatives enacted anti-white legislation after anti-white legislation. Only a small minority apparently even saw the impending genocide and the majority silenced them simply by calling them names. By the time my generation matured, the cows were well and truly out of the barn and the barn doors sold to the Chinese.

  • Jeff

I guess about 7% of them are part white?

  • prettycelticwarrior

    Another White man murdered!

No mention of the RACE of the suspects! Just a wild guess that they might be black!

CENTRAL, S.C. (AP) – “Authorities say a 23-year-old Clemson University
student has been shot and killed during a robbery in his home in a gated
community about two miles from campus. Investigators say several people broke into the home in the Chimney Ridge subdivision around 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Pickens County Coroner Kandy Kelley says someone shot Steven Grich and
he died at the scene. Grich was a sophomore from Fort Mill majoring in
electrical engineering. An autopsy has been ordered. Authorities say five other people were in the home, but they weren’t seriously injured. Deputies think the suspects drove away in a black, four-door Dodge Durango with tinted windows and polished aluminum wheels.

Grich lived in Chimney Ridge, a subdivision of more than 100 two-bedroom
cottages and four-bedroom homes marketed toward Clemson students.”

  • Jonetwo

    Blacks are stupid…this is news?

    • JohnEngelman

No, but it is dangerous to say so in public.

  • MAJ

The fine teachers of color are clearly as dumb as their students.

In any event, what more does one need to see a connection between racial differences and IQ?

Gee, Detroit’s schools are all black and the students can’t function at an 8th grade level.

Gee, [insert urban school system] schools are all black and the students can’t function at an 8th grade level.
Gee, what do all these schools have in common?
I know, the chalk is white. The chalk be racist!
In all honesty, there’s almost no point in having blacks go to school beyond the sixth grade. What’s the point? Wasting millions of dollars to push a barely literate Shaniqua into high school serves no one, is an embarrassment to society in general, and drains White tax money.
All of us here know this. I suspect nearly all Whites, on some level, know this, but they have been “blackbotomized” by White enablers, by the media, by cowardly White church groups, by Whites who rush to see their own race destroyed – all living in denial and self-imposed fear.
If the above figures can be extrapolated (taking into account that Detroit is even worse for black students than other school’s – if that’s possible) by the time a bantu reaches 10th grade (remember – many have already dropped out) some 80% are not equipped to handle the basics at that grade level. Studies show 90+ percent who wind up with a HS diploma are in no way ready for college – and the basic ROI is negligible at best.
It is criminal waste of resources. Until the revolution, so to speak, blacks should track in an entirely different educational system with an emphasis on behavior, discipline, and social skills, and geared toward the teaching of the functionally retarded. With average IQs in the high 70s no wonder no one in Detroit can read.
It’s like taking an 8 year old and putting him or her in a university physics class and expecting college level results.
The failure of White America to confront this menace to its very existence is appalling.
How long can this charade be perpetuated?

    • i am

“I know, the chalk is white. The chalk be racist!”

The white chalk is oppressing the black board.

  • Zapp Branigan

In 1978 I went through Air Force navigator school, during the first week we had to take a quickie math evaluation test to make sure we had the skills to continue. It was very basic, everyone passed EXCEPT the two black candidates, who were both graduates of the Air Force Academy and not ROTC or OCS like the rest of us. Keep in mind an Academy grad was the best and the brightest the air force had to offer…..they both got remedial training before classes started, and they both failed 3 different check rides during the year long course and had to be coddled through the program. (3 failures was an automatic bust out of the program for anyone else).

  • Luis

Wasn’t there an article here on Amren, a few months ago, that showed less than 3% of Detroit high school seniors were college-ready? It shows they’re regressing, from 8th grade to 12th grade.

    How unfair.

Since Detroit is part of Africa, a more appropriate question would be “How did their performance compare with those of their peers in Mogadishu or Harare?”

  • jay11

Wait a minute! The students are basically all black in Detroit. Check. The surrounding community is basically all black. Check. The political system is basically all black – and Democratic. Check. The teachers mostly ‘reflect’ the student population they ‘serve.’ Check. Nobody is starving (free lunch, breakfast and sometimes dinner and food stamps and welfare checks all around.) Check. Black role models are everywhere, even the big statue of a black fist downtown. Check. No evil whites around, virtually anywhere, to oppress and cause injustice with all their ‘priviledge’. Check. Per pupil spending higher than in white districts. Check. Sounds like all the bases are covered, doesn’t it?

So what’s the problem with the black students? Who or what can you blame?

I take my daughter to the nearby library when the weather is nice, and we see occasional black kids there… playing games on the library PCs. Their mothers aren’t there after books, either, and instead of walking when the weather is nice, they always drive. Many of them are so fat that they waddle.

If someone tries to tell me that I’m the same species as those shambling, illiterate oafs, I believe I’ll scream myself into death by apoplexy.

The same posters who like to gloat about low test scores for blacks and Hispanics get angry at me when I remind them that Jews and Orientals have higher averages than white Gentiles. They suspect some sort of chicanery.
