Building a People’s Party

The conflict is coming.

The German elections show that the center-right is dying as a political force as the German people turn to nationalism. However, “The Left” (the actual name of the winning party) triumphed in Berlin by running on a platform of economic entitlements and ethnic grievance. There is no longer any common ground possible — politics in the coming Age of Identity will be a zero sum struggle over collective resources and the old parties will be left behind.
