Nolan Wells Investigation: Threats Against ‘White People’ on Football Team Revealed

New details have emerged in connection with the fourth person arrested for allegedly making threats to harm, injure or kill witnesses in the Nolan Xavier Wells death investigation.

According to the criminal complaint unsealed in U.S. District Court in Wyoming, Brandon Ephriam Washington, 30, of Jacksonville, Florida, sent the threatening messages to Bart Edmiston Jr., a punter at the University of Wyoming, and his teammates.

At 6:57 a.m. July 28, Washington sent a message from his Instagram account, listed under the username of 904hustler_, to Edmiston and his teammates that said: “Y’all mite well shut the whole program down because the next game, we shooting every white people on that field,” including victim 1, identified as Edmiston Jr.

The message ended with, “the hitters from the 904 on the way right now.” The number 904 is the area code in area where Washington lives.

Edmiston and friends got a screenshot the threat and information about the Instagram account from which it was sent, identified as @904hustler_. Washington’s Instagram account also included a link to his Snapchat account.

Washington was taken into custody in Florida on Aug. 12, and he has since been released on a personal recognizance bond that includes additional requirements, including regularly reporting to pre-trial services and orders that he have no direct or indirect contact with Edmiston Jr. without his attorney present.

The family started receiving death threats after Edmiston Jr.’s name appeared in an incident report from the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources that identified him as the boater who helped tow a boat connected to the Wells’ case.
