Cotton Introduces Bill to Denaturalize Convicted Felons

Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., introduced a bill March 17 to expand the federal government’s authority to revoke naturalized citizenship.

According to a release from Cotton’s office, the bill would add any felony conviction that occurred before, during or after naturalization as grounds for revoking citizenship. Any naturalized citizen who is a member of or affiliated with a terrorist organization at any point after receiving citizenship would also be subject to having their citizenship revoked.
