Choose Love: The Night of the White Cornerback

During the Racial Reckoning of 2020-2024, the NFL would inscribe “End Racism” on the Super Bowl field under the goal posts. Not surprisingly, this expression of the reigning anti-white racial hate of the era completely failed to end the racial stereotyping that had kept any non-black cornerback, white or Pacific Islander, from becoming a regular starter for 20 consecutive seasons, 2004 through 2023.

During the Great Vibe Shift of 2024, however, two former white teammates at the U. of Iowa became regular NFL cornerback starters: second year man Riley Moss of the Denver Broncos and rookie Cooper DeJean of the Philadelphia Eagles.

In tonight’s 40-22 Eagles win in the Super Bowl, on his 22nd birthday, DeJean intercepted a Patrick Mahomes pass and returned it for a touchdown.
