Man’s Shooting Death Marks Milwaukee’s 166th Homicide of the Year

The fatal shooting of a 42-year-old man Thursday evening marked Milwaukee’s 166th homicide of the year, breaking its record set in 1991.


Milwaukee has now broken its 1991 record of 165 homicides in one year. National experts and local activists have pointed to the cascading effects of the coronavirus pandemic as a driving factor, as other American cities have experienced similar spikes in homicides.
