Deputies say Ali entered Gordy’s Travel Plaza Wednesday morning and forced a female employee into one of the restrooms. That’s where the victim says Ali ripped off her clothes, physically and sexually assaulted her and put tobacco in her ears. When officers arrived and tried to kick down the doork, one reported hearing Ali saying, “She’s my wife.” The victim claims to have never seen the suspect before the incident.

Court documents say when deputies detained Ali he muttered, “Allahu akbar” which means God is the Greatest in Arabic.
