Rand Paul: Bill Clinton Put ‘Generation’ of Black Men in Prison

Alexander Bolton, The Hill, May 18, 2015

Republican presidential candidate Rand Paul says he will bash Hillary Clinton over her husband’s record of putting “a generation of black men in prison” if he is the nominee.

{snip}

“If I were the nominee, we will compete in Philadelphia,” he told CBS radio talk show host Dom Giordano at the National Constitution Center.

“I’ll ask Hillary Clinton, what have you done for criminal justice? Your husband passed all the laws that put a generation of black men in prison. Her husband was responsible for that,” he said.

“She’s changing her tune now. She’s changing her tune because people like me have been speaking out against these injustices,” he said.

As president, Clinton signed the 1994 Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act, which gave states fiscal incentives to enact tougher sentencing laws.

{snip}

He touted bills he has introduced with Democratic support that would give judges more discretion in handing out sentencing and would reduce penalties for non-violent drug offenses.

Paul said he would also challenge Clinton about her vision for reinvigorating blighted urban centers.

“I’ll also ask her what she’s going to do for poor people in Philadelphia. I have a specific plan that would dramatically lower the taxes for people who live in zip codes of poverty and high unemployment. I would leave billions of dollars in Philadelphia over 10 years. What’s Hillary Clinton going to do?” he said.

No, Rand, blacks put themselves in prison when they commit crimes. They earned the punishment.

    • Deacon Blue

Aren’t you paying attention to what former AGOTUS Eric Holder said about
      “disparate” impact?

      • Dr. Rieux

Truth is more important than any of the oral flatus that issues from Obama’s or Holder’s mouth.

    • Light from the East

There are so many politicians speaking the word of hypocrisy for their own political interest, even conservatives do. Rand Paul spoke this for debunking Hilary’s hypocrisy but he did this as well. When you are involved in politics, it is hard for you not to compromise in certain situation. Thus, it is difficult for us to know Rand Paul’s real stance about race issues. (Just as few people understood Obama’s real stance about race in 2008). The best way to understand a politician is to realize his/her life experience, interview his/her family, friends, and colleagues, or interview him/her personally. So the politician may say something is controversial if it is exposed to the public. AR can interview potential politicians supporting AR’s movement to deeply know what is under their skin.

  • Evette Coutier

Paul will never get my vote.

    • Nimadan

      So who will? Some RINO?

      • ZenSouth

“If voting made any difference they wouldn’t let us do it.”
        Mark Twain

        • Nimadan

          Bingo.

      • Jaggers

I’m hoping Donald Trump gets in.

        • Nimadan

Why? Trump made his name in the construction industry in the Tri-State area. Do you have any idea how corrupt that business is? He’s been swimming in a cesspool, by choice, for his entire adult life.

          • Jaggers

            I don’t care.

          • Nimadan

How can you not care? Unless you have a realistic expectation of a patronage job, what possible benefit is there to having corrupt individuals in office?

      • John Q. Taxpayer

I will vote for Hitlery (despite my utter contempt for her) before I capitulate for some blossoming lotus Libertarian like Paul or Jeb Bush. If we continue seeding ground to the GOP and don’t send them a message, what kind of “opposition party” will we even have? Frankly, I want the GOP to dissolve. This country is demographically funked anyway. I’m for bringing about its split sooner than later.

        • Nimadan

I agree with you about the uselessness of the corrupt GOP establishment. Like you, I am over any misplaced loyalty to post-american america, the abomination that has replaced our homeland.

Jeb Bush is not a libertarian. He was born and raised in a rich, powerful family that is mobbed-up to the max with the globalist elite. It boggles me that a man independent enough to read Amren would believe anything a creature like JBush said.

So much for the House of Bush, as for libertarianism, it is a beautiful philosophy that may be incompatible with human nature, and is certainly incompatible with a multicultural cesspool like this. It is useful as a protest vote since there’s a lot of evidence that libertarians terrify the RINO hierarchy.

          • IBWHITE

I really don’t see much difference, if any, between Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton.

          • Nimadan

There is about as much political difference between
Hillbeast and Jeb as there is between Pepsi and Coke.

      • BernieGoetzFan

Literally anyone is better than Paul on the GOP side. At least in regard to race. Jeb Bush even signed a bill to limit affirmative action (he opposed it but signed the bill at least).

        • Nimadan

It was a political gesture. The old WASP aristocracy are utterly contemptuous of working and middle-class Whites. They’re no friendlier to the White masses than rich jews are.

      • Evette Coutier

        No.

  • DaveMed

    Haha!

You’re not getting their votes, Rand. Stop trying to compensate for the racially-aware upbringing your father provided.

(That’s not sarcasm. I actually do think that Ron Paul is a racial realist.)

    • John Smith

His past newsletters would indicate as much.

      • I don’t take the newsletters as bona fide. They were part of about a decade long effort that right-libertarians engaged in to try to cuckold themselves into what was at the time an ascendant right-populist-racialist movement.

      • jaye ellis

Ron Paul denied he even read let alone wrote the politically incorrect racist comments in Ron Paul Newsletter from the early 1990s which criticized Black criminals for things like the massive LA Rodney King Riots.

Marty Peretz the homosexual Lib Zionist Jewish publisher of the New Republic outed Ron Paul as supposedly an evil White racist who didn’t support Israel.

Ron Paul caved, agreed that these articles in the Ron Paul newsletter were terrible, horrible, and Ron Paul supposedly never had a racist, anti Israel thought in his mind, Ron Paul supposedly worships Martin Luther King Jr and Rosa Parks because they were supposedly Libertarians.

This was as bad as any old Bolshevik confessing to counter revolutionary crimes in Stalin’s Show trials.

        Pathetic.

        • John Smith

I never believed he wrote them, just that he didn’t disagree with them. I still think that. His son obviously is trying to tack far to the pro-diversity side of things as penance for Dad’s “sins.”

  • Susannah

Rand, the more of them in prison, the safer we all are. Fact.

  • Caesar Avgvstvs

Just segregating blacks and allowing them to solve to their own problems in their own communities is more cost-effective than mass incarcerating them on our dime. It looks like common sense died out with the triumph of the countercultural revolution in the sixties.

  • MekongDelta69

    Somewhere, there’s a Republican with a spine.

    I’m still looking…

    • Deacon Blue

And when you find such a Republican please let all of us know?

    • John Q. Taxpayer

Jeff Sessions (AL Senator) is as close as I can find.

      • JohnEngelman

Jeff Sessions will not win the Republican nomination. However, if he did I would probably vote for him in the general election.

    • Spikeygrrl

So you vote for (D)s? That is both a surprise and a disappointment.

      • MekongDelta69

        I’m glad I happened to notice this…

I don’t know how in God’s name you extrapolated that from my comment Spikeygrrl, so let me clear this up ASAP!

There isn’t enough money on the planet that you can bribe me with to vote for a Democrat (aka Socialist, Communist, Marxist, etc.)

I have never in my life voted for a Democrat. I’m not even a registered Republican. I a registered Conservative [not because that’s great, but it’s the closest I can get to what I want. If there were a line on the ballot called AmRen, I’d be a registered AmRener (seriously).]

What I was referring to is the fact that I almost never see any (or very few) Republicans standing up to Dear Leader’s dictatorship and his totalitarian orders.

So don’t be ‘surprised and disappointed.’ We could still go out to dinner and not kill each other!! We’d probably have a great time Spikeygrrl…

        • Spikeygrrl

My bad on the prior post. I apologize. I thought I was responding to one of those nutty nutty nutballs so distressingly common here whose inanely idiosyncratic Conservative Purity Tests make them either throw away their votes on unelectable third party candidates or just stay home and pout.

I would enjoy dinner with you and your lovely lady. Although you and my active-duty husband (12 years in so far) would probably be so busy swapping war stories that neither I nor your lovely lady could get a word in edgewise! 😀

If you’re ever in San Antonio…

  • Republican presidential candidate Rand Paul says he will bash Hillary Clinton over her husband’s record of putting “a generation of black men in prison” if he is the nominee.

Hillary Clinton is bashing Bill Clinton for “putting a generation of black men in prison.” Hasn’t anyone paid attention to how fast Hillary is running way from Bill on a lot of issues? Of course, it makes me wonder how long she can play this forked tongue game of campaigning against her husband and campaigning to be the second version of her husband at the same time.

“If I were the nominee, we will compete in Philadelphia,” he told CBS radio talk show host Dom Giordano at the National Constitution Center.

Let me know how that works out for you, unless I already know the answer, and that is, Hillary Clinton 99%, Rand Paul 1%, among Philadelphia black voters.

“She’s changing her tune now. She’s changing her tune because people like me have been speaking out against these injustices,” he said.

She’s changing her tune alright, but it has nothing to do with you. It’s because the Democrat base is way more ideologically obsessed and identity politics focused than it was during the 1990s, and HRC knows that in November 2016, she needs black voters, esp. middle aged and elderly black women, to turn out in at least the same astounding numbers they did in 2012 for her to have a chance.

Yes, I’m sure all the welfare Shaniquas of Philly are really concerned about their “tax burden,” and would be all the more entrepreneurially inspired if their already non-existent tax burden would be reduced.

    • BernieGoetzFan

Jack Kemp was the same way. Like Rand Paul he was an intellectual lightweight who pandered to blacks to get praise from the media. Like Kemp, he is driving away his white base while attracting zero black or leftist votes.

      • On his own, Jack Kemp only ever won elections in a suburban (read: all white) Buffalo Congressional district. Everything else he had, HUD Secretary, Bob Dole’s running mate, was handed to him.

Of course, how much should you really trust a man whose racial policies, according to him, came from his taking showers with black men?

        • “….from his taking showers with black men?” Damn. I was going to use that line. Yeah, he thought “I showered with more black men than most Republicans shook hands with..” and he thought THAT would win black support? Can you think of any more narcissistic thing to believe? I swear, he even outdid liberals on that level!

      • Vito Powers

Add to the list that weasel Paul Ryan. This piece of crap is pro-amnesty, pro-TTP, wants to INCREASE the Earned Income Tax Credit, and “reform entitlements” (aka reducing Social Security and Medicare for seniors and aging baby boomers).

I want Paul Ryan to be the first person in the docket at the Treason Trials.

    • ElComadreja

She should be starting to speak in a faux negro dialect again any day now.

  • If Rand Paul so much loves the “generation of black men put in prison,” maybe he can spend a weekend with them.

    • jaye ellis

Or shower with these Black men like Jack Kemp bragged he used too be to do

  • Deacon Blue

I liked Rand Paul before he was running for POTUS. Now he comes across as
just a pandering d-bag who is about to alienate the Libertarian wing of the party
to appease those who are light mocha to “80% cacao” chocolate in complexion.

    Rand is NOT his father.

    • Well, about that last line. You will get an argument about that. I’m just warning you.

      • Deacon Blue

Dr. Paul the elder never pandered to the Blacks like Randy is now…
that’s all I am implying. Gnomesayin’?

        • Toward the end of his viable political career, Dr. Paul the elder was pandering a lot to blacks. Also, the attempt to cast Rand Paul as something drastically different from mainline libertarianism is the No True Scotsman fallacy.

        • jaye ellis

          Oh do shut up!

Ron Paul shamelessly pandered to the worst Blacks .

Ron Paul denied he wrote or even read his own newsletter that contained critism of Black criminals LA Rodney King rioters looters.

What kind of pussy would deny he even read his own newsletter?

          Pathetic

  • WR_the_realist

A generation of black men put themselves into prison by committing felonies. Just make drug dealing, pimping, theft, assault, and murder legal and we will finally stop putting generations of black men in prison.

  • alex

I don’t think Rand Paul is that stupid. He reminds me of conservatives in my state who attack teachers for not educating black children.
I strongly suspect that Rand Paul and teacher-bashing conservatives know the truth:
Police, tough sentencing laws and teachers aren’t the problem. Blacks are.
Paul spouts politically correct platitudes to attract young and/or independent whites who still believe in racial equality and may be some middle class blacks.
Conservatives do the same to destroy left-wing teachers unions.

    • I think he is that naive. Ideologues live in ideological bubbles far detached from reality. Rand Paul is far from the only one, but he is one for sure.

      • Jaggers

I find that libertarians have very little contact with reality. It’s all just happy talk, total nonsense. Alex above, thank you for recognizing the teacher-bashing conservatives. I would be hard pressed to find such an insightful comment on the usual conservative sites which peddle that stuff.

        • Fred Reed calls it “Commentator’s Disease.”

        • alex

” Alex above, thank you for recognizing the teacher-bashing conservatives. I would be hard pressed to find such an insightful comment on the usual conservative sites which peddle that stuff.”

People on this site aren’t usual conservatives. We are (race) realists.

    • Don’t look now, but the “teacher bashing” has now mainstreamed itself in the left, or more accurately, neo-liberals. It’s not obvious, because the Obama era has served to paper over a lot of internecine fights in the left, but once Obama is no longer a factor, look for a huge land war between teachers’ unions and “Waiting for Superman” types to break out. I could easily see Davis Guggenheim and Randi Weingarten going after each other with lead pipes on the convention floor of the DNC in Philadelphia next summer.

  • John Smith

I used to like Rand because of his commitment to civil liberties, but he’s nuts if he thinks most negroes aren’t behind bars because they earned it.

    • Alexandra1973

It just goes to confirm that blacks as a whole are incompatible with civilization.

    • ElComadreja

The rest just haven’t been caught yet.

  • NoMosqueHere

The most dangerous enemies of whites are leftist white traitors such as Rand Paul.

Great idea Rand. Release the violent black drug dealers and gangsters onto american streets.

    • But haven’t you heard? Almost everyone in Federal prison is there on a 20 year bit just for having a little bit of weed.

People like Rand Paul actually think that, honest to Allah.

    • Exuberant Auditor

Rand Paul isn’t a Leftist. What motivates him here isn’t equality or disparate impact but big government. Unfortunately for him some tasks like law enforcement do require big government.

  • Dr. Rieux

Bill Clinton put ‘Generation’ of black men in prison.

I just knew Slick Willy couldn’t be all bad.

Give it up, Rand. The toxins from your Chinese-made, dime-store wig have seeped into your brain and addled your thinking.

  • Steve_in_Vermont

I believe back in the past Rand Paul’s plan for Philly was called Welfare.

  • Rand Paul panders to his followers, 95% of whom are devout pot heads.

    • Bon, From the Land of Babble

Rand Paul panders to his followers, 95% of whom are devout pot buddha heads.

      There is a difference.

  • Bon, From the Land of Babble

I’ll also ask her what she’s going to do for poor people in Philadelphia. I have a specific plan that would dramatically lower the taxes for people who live in zip codes of poverty and high unemployment. I would leave billions of dollars in Philadelphia over 10 years. What’s Hillary Clinton going to do?

Yeah, Rand, I’m sure that’ll dramatically boost Philly’s economy.

Republican presidential candidate Rand Paul says he will bash Hillary Clinton over her husband’s record of putting ‘a generation of black men in prison’

All of them are locked up for NO Reason Whatsoever, right Rand?

    Open the prison doors!

    Release them All!

    Vote Rand Paul!

(and here I thought the pols in California were the only ones that wanted to open wide the prison doors).

  • JohnEngelman

During the eight years Bill Clinton was in office the overall crime rate per 100,000 inhabitants declined from 5,484.4 to 4,124.8. The rate of violent crime per 100,000 inhabitants declined from 746.8 to 504.5. The murder rate per 100,000 inhabitants declined from 9.5 to 5.5.

From 1990 to 2000 the prison population in the United States grew from 739,980 to 1,428,187.

    Punishment works.

  • JohnEngelman

A libertarian is a republican who likes pornography and illegal drugs, and who dislikes going to church.

    • InAFreeCountry

That is actually kind of fair.

  • The Worlds Scapegoat

“Republican presidential candidate Rand Paul says he will bash Hillary
Clinton over her husband’s record of putting “a generation of black men
in prison” if he is the nominee.”

    1) This is stupid all by itself.

    2) Hilarious had little control over what her husband did in office.

    3) I highly doubt Bill put any blacks in prison. He wasn’t a judge or cop. I think he gave a few blacks pardons when he left office.

    4) If Rand Paul does that, he might loose votes by proving Hilarious is stronger on crime than his own lame a$$.

    .

  • Gee. Did Bill Clinton do that? Well, at least I can respect something about him.

  • Da Troof

    Rand is an idiot.

  • LHathaway

During Clinton’s presidency, crime went down every year. By the end of Clinton’s presidency the prison population had nearly double. No one has ever adequately explained that, outside of some knee-jerk reactions places like AmRen when I’ve pointed that out.

  • EuropeanIdentity33

You know I can see libertarianism being a great political ideology….for gangsters and drug dealers. So maybe that’s why Rand Paul panders to blacks so much.

    • jaye ellis

“for gangsters and drug dealers.”.. also for boot looking anti White traitors like Rand Paul, Paul Ryan, every Libertarian candidate for President like Rand’s Libertarian loon father Ron Paul and these guys always win…

      0%

Regular White Americans who actually work for a living detest, hate race denying Libertarian loons like Rand Paul and Ron Paul.

We need to give these idiot/traitors some Milton Friedman books and sent them to Mogadeshu Somalia to spread their TRUTHS to somehow making the Somalian Bantu savages free and prosperous.

      • InAFreeCountry

So you love paying taxes to further big government? Good to know.

        • jaye ellis

That seems to be all you and those in and out of the Ron Paul/Rand Paul Libertarian Constitutionalist cult care about:

          Taxes
          Their own money

In this traitorous line of thought, Judas was not really a bad guy, just a libertarian maximizing his personal utility.

Here’s hoping Ron Paul, Rand Paul and those few in this cult get to experience the joys of multi culturalism, diversity with some Trayvon Martin youth pounding their skulls in to concrete. This might be the only cure for this money obsessed Libertarian, Constitutionalist race denying cult.

  • Exuberant Auditor

    Best thing Secretariat did.

But don’t forget the Clinton era was also the Giuliani era, so the credit might not be entirely his.

  • Earl Turner

Every time he opens his mouth, I find less and less to like about Rand Paul. He is no friend of White people.

  • rebelcelt

I like Rand Paul on some things,,but really. Rand, live in a Black neighborhood. I am glad they are in prison.

  • Hilis Hatki

“I’ll also ask her what she’s going to do for poor people in Philadelphia. I have a specific plan that would dramatically lower the taxes for people who live in zip codes of poverty and high unemployment. ”
So the poor and unemployed in Philadelphia pay alot of taxes? Not paying taxes will end poverty? Seems like time for Plan B.

  • ElComadreja

If he really had put a generation of blacks in prison he’d be the greatest President this country ever had.

  • InAFreeCountry

If Rand is trolling for black votes, no amount of bait is going to get them to bite.
