College Group Cancels Diversity ‘Happy Hour’ After Excluding White Staffers

Drew Mikkelsen, King 5 (Olympia), March 11, 2014

An attempt to fight racism at a community college may have backfired.

A group of employees at South Puget Sound Community College sent out an invitation to all 300 staffers.

The “Staff, Faculty and Administrators of Color” encouraged employees to reply to the invitation to find out the confidential date and time of what was being called a “happy hour” to “build support and community” for people of color.

The invite made it clear white people were not invited.

The email read: “If you want to create space for white folks to meet and work on racism, white supremacy, and white privilege to better our campus community and yourselves, please feel free to do just that.”

“It was obviously a mistake,” said SPSCC’s Dean of College Relations, Kellie Purce Braseth.

Braseth said the group that put out the email last week apologized the next day and canceled the event.

{snip}

Karama Blackhorn, program coordinator for the school’s Diversity and Equity Center, helped write the invitation.

She said it could have been worded differently, but she maintains the staff members of color would have a more honest discussion about race without white employees.

Great. Start your own, whiteless school funded without white supremacist money if we’re so bad.

    • D.B. Cooper

Did you see the white people in the news clip? A bunch of Dungeons & Dragons playing fools (really!) in the library, shocked, just shocked, that this email was sent.

  • DavidSNESGAMER

No complaints here: I fully support the right of the blacks to have freedom of association.

Whites, also, have the full right of association, and must also exercise it.

    • sbuffalonative

If they believed what they say, they would be the ones demanding segregation.

Yet they demand to be around us.

    • slash345

I’d love to live in a region of the US where blacks aren’t permitted to enter.

      • D.B. Cooper

        Well, there’s always China.

        • Homo_Occidentalis

Don’t forget Israel, South Korea, Singapore, Japan, and other first world nations where blacks are all but not permitted.

          • The Final Solution

I’ve been to Korea and Japan and I can count the number of blacks I saw in both countries on one hand.

          • slash345

Those were probably there on some sort of military base.

          • The Final Solution

Yep a lot of American blacks in Korea actually. I’m not counting those from the US military. They only go to certain areas. Korean women avoid them like the plague.

          • “Korean women avoid them like the plague.”

All women with a functioning brain do.

          • AndrewInterrupted

We will have to ‘…redouble our efforts…’ and see that they get some.

          • The Final Solution

Once the battle begins they will be desperate to get into any country as refugees from the race war.

      • Well, that “region of the US ” ought to be the whole country.

    • “I fully support the right of the blacks to have freedom of association.”

      Shouldn’t be “freedom of congregation”?

  • cecilhenry

WE want our own country, and be rid of this anti-white garbage.

    Enough.

    • DavidSNESGAMER

Absolutely. And the blacks at this community college would obviously support us, because they believe we’re evil and therefore can’t want to live in the same country as us.

      • Alexandra1973

No way, they’d want to go along for the ride so they can leech off us. They may for the most part be stupid, but I think they know what side of the bread is buttered.

  • Alexandra1973

So the “minorities” can be “enriched” by each other, meanwhile Whites have to self-flagellate to atone for White privilege.

So much for “diversity” and “inclusion.”

  • JohnEngelman

She said it could have been worded differently, but she maintains the staff members of color would have a more honest discussion about race without white employees.

    – Drew Mikkelsen, King 5 (Olympia), March 11, 2014

They would have found it easier to blame their problems on whites.

    • Alexandra1973

Yep, they wouldn’t have had someone objecting, they could just keep their heads in the sand.

““It was obviously a mistake,” said SPSCC’s Dean of College Relations, Kellie Purce Braseth.”

Yes it obviously was a mistake, similar to the one I made the other day at a La Raza fund raiser. I meant to say, “I love undocumented immigrants and feel that diversity is our strength.”

What I actually said was, “Go back to mexico you free loading parasites.”

Like I said, an obvious mistake.

    • AndrewInterrupted

Yes, they definitely tipped their hand.

      • WhiteGuyInJapan

I really think these sheltered uni liberals are too arrogant and myopic for their own good. They spend their lives surrounded by people who also swallowed the blue pill and they seem so shocked when anyone dares to challenge or criticize them.

    • Lagerstrom

Or was that a Freudian slip?

  • Extropico

The college administrators desperately want to depict the actions by the staff members as a simple mistaken typographical error, as they don’t want to see a Civil Rights lawsuit by the White students.

    • ozamataz

The white liberal kids would probably be to spineless to do anything. They’d be apologizing for not understanding.

    • Conrad

If this is how the “staff members of color” think, how can a white student believe that they will be treated fairly by those staff members? A rhetorical question, of course.

      • DudeWheresMyCountry?

They probably cancelled quickly once an administrator realized the event had to be eliminated before anyone RSVP’d and incriminated themselves in a potential lawsuit. I would sue for incompetence and try to get as many people fired I could for the reason you brought up.

  • ncpride

“If you want to create space for white folks to meet and work on racism, white supremacy, and white privilege to better our campus community and yourselves, please feel free to do just that.”

The audacity and arrogance of this twit is stunning. However, this is exactly what clueless Whites need to hear. The bolder darkies get in their hatred and jealously, the harder to ignore.

    • slash345

I’d be interested to see those white students on campus reaction to these spiteful muds.

I hope they had their eye’s opened a little and took something of value from the incident. It’s things like that that really opens whites eyes, especially young ones. That’s all it takes is a little push, becuase that’s all it took for me to become racially aware at a young age. And I’ve been aware ever since.

      • Sheik Yerbouti

Oh not on THAT campus. White students at UW are just as brainwashed as the “professors” leading this mad diversity march. Madison is full of “Celebrate Diversity” bumper stickers (usually beside the rainbow stickers) on vehicles driven by white, self-hating fools.

  • I love these faux pas because they reveal the truth of the anti-white mentality on campus. Some blacks got reamed out, but if whites had done something similar somebody would have been fired or sent to be brainwashed. Black-skin privilege is the real problem.

  • D.B. Cooper

This is a picture of your Affirmative Action dean, Kellie Purce Braseth.
I want you pasty white boys who attend that school to publicly explain to me on the web, about why good ol’ D.B. Cooper is the real hater; and not Karama Blackhorn.
Come on boys! If you live in Washington state, you ought recognize my pretty face!

      • Hal K

It is better not to use the term “racist” in a negative sense. When you do this you imply that you think it would be wrong for whites to advance their own group interests on an explicitly pro-white basis.

        • DudeWheresMyCountry?

No, that would imply they are our intellectual and technological peers. They have nothing to offer us, we offer everything worthwhile and desirable to them. Put them on the defensive; let them twist in the wind explaining those realities away.

          • Hal K

I’m not sure what you mean by “technological peers.” The left has the same access to technology as the right.

That aside, I don’t think your strategy is going to work. Mainstream conservatives have been trying it for a long time. It is time to get explicit white solidarity into the mainstream.

          • DudeWheresMyCountry?

I think you need to read again. You don’t understand that Black people in their natural state are not as technologically advanced as White people in their natural state? I don’t think mainstream conservatives use the term racist against Blacks, I don’t know whee you get that. You want Black people to approve of what you call them? I reject that.

          • Hal K

You don’t understand that Black people in their natural state are not as
technologically advanced as White people in their natural state?

I wasn’t sure where you were coming from, that’s all. I am a race realist like most people here and know about innate differences.

You want Black people to approve of what you call them?

I am not concerned with what blacks think. I am concerned with getting explicit white solidarity into the mainstream, and using the term “racist” in a negative sense tends to work against that.

          • DudeWheresMyCountry?

The problem is the word is already out there and not using it adds to the duplicitous narrative that only White people can be racist. They don’t want you to use it either. Go ahead, I’m good with anti-White… but I will continue to use both.

          • Hal K

They don’t want you to use it either.

What they really don’t want is for whites to organize as whites.

          • DudeWheresMyCountry?

It will happen, it is merely a matter of when. The collapse of The USA is imminent and natural separation will be inevitable. Those who disagree can live with the hordes forever without us.

          • kikz

…you may be correct Hal on the positive grin-f*k101 spin, although I don’t think White’s should shy away from the word ‘racist’, as if it would burn us. The term ‘racist’ or “raycissss” is used as a ‘trick’ weapon against Whites and Europeans. Whose language is it anyway? Why not use it to return fire? How long are White’s going to allow others to frame their issues and conversations by claiming pieces of our language? It’s comparable to the problem with the term ‘anti-Semite’ being appropriated and now seemingly ‘owned exclusively’ by Jews and used as bludgeon against any negative commentary about them or Israel. Anti-Semite encompasses ethnic groups other than Jews/Hebrews from the Levant, “relating to or denoting a family of languages that includes Hebrew, Arabic, and Aramaic and certain ancient languages such as Phoenician and Akkadian, constituting the main subgroup of the Afro-Asiatic family” (Google, 2014). Haven’t you heard the former minister Shulamit Aloni in the Amy Goodman interview? “Anti-Semite, it’s a trick, we always use it.” http://youtu.be/jUGVPBO9_cA

If someone understands and owns the term, and can defend themselves from having it used as a bludgeon against them, the ‘slung term is deprived of its power to shame or guilt someone into shutting the hell up, and defending their point of view. Wouldn’t turning the tables on Anti-White racists with their own moral bludgeon be effective?

          • Hal K

Do you think it is possible to use the term “racist” as a rhetorical bludgeon against anti-whites while at the same time calling for whites to organize as whites and speaking up about innate racial differences? I don’t see how. You could try to define “racist” very narrowly, but the problem is that “racist” has a commonly understood meaning, which is any outcome or view that favors one race over another.

I think that when white conservatives use the term “racist” this way it is they who are being tricked. They are so delighted to be able to turn the tables on liberals that they lose sight of the bigger picture and fall into the trap of committing to a world view in which explicit white solidarity is considered wrong.

          • kikz

i get your argument hal.. i really do. i’m no rhetorical
genius or mental giant by any means, and i’m aware that most discussions or debates on racism don’t progress along logical lines, nor are terms agreed on before hand…

but again, letting some cultural marxist or ‘bantu’ (as i’ve seen the term bandied about here), define your terms is a losing strategy. The point is the “fine for me, but not thee proposition” ……that…. is racist.

the retort to “thaz raycisss” is…. it’s not racist when your non-White race ( or if a traitor who favors another over their own) favors itself over another and looks after its own best interests…it’s called self determination, and racial pride. To say that Whites cannot do either… is racist, by their own definition of the term >:)

We’re White… our culture is superior, our language is superior, our minds are superior……why are Whites letting mental midget sock puppets of any color, fed lines by Jew cultural Marxists twist our own language against us? Whites simply need to get a grip.

If properly mentally attired/armed to address the issue, I don’t think any White’s default position will be to automatically “commit to a world view in which explicit White solidarity is considered wrong”. i think the opposite more likely.

If someone’s Civil Rights have not been violated, the incessant whining/yammering demands have to stop, and they’re not going to unless we make them stop. even a toddler understands (s)he uses a strategy that works, until it doesn’t. 🙂

Calling blacks racist was simply the truth, though I suspect the sentence sounded a bit odd to everyone reading it. The more racist they are, the more they are adulated and promoted. Why wouldn’t they be racist?

That’s the twisted, perhaps AmRen version of civil rights. . ‘A smoke room club, just for whites, somewhere (lets find it)’ Terrible, they must be banned, members shamed, denounced in the press, and eliminated. Clubs and private interest groups just for black – highest enlightenment. They must be paid for, increased in numbers, and promoted.

At least all these black studies centers, numerous black student unions, and one would guess, the workplace affiliations like ‘black journalists association’ at least presumably they are not restricted to just blacks. No doubt they are open to anyone who claims whites are evil and exclude and discriminate. That’s what she was trying to say.

….it may be that because they are allowed to rant at will with utter immunity in their academic and social bubbles, and their handlers, through stupidity or negligence haven’t clued them in, that they must still mask their racist inclinations/agenda in ‘diversity speak’, when out of said bubbles… or simply, they’re just too simpleminded or just don’t care enough to be diplomatically eruditely skillful in using grinf*k101. In any event, I think they should be called on it, at every possible opportunity.

My favorite comment so far in a thread with a lot of good ones. The comments with the pictures of Karama Blackburn really gave you a run for your money.

  • Frank_DeScushin

How is the invite a “mistake”? The minority students specifically addressed the invite to “administrators of color”, and went on to essentially tell whites to get together on their own time to discuss how racist they are. Ironic, but not a mistake.

Personally, I like when the white haters make their intentions explicitly clear. It helps wake up some slumbering whites.

I wouldn’t laugh. These people go on to becoming diversity consultants, diversity coordinators, diversity sensitivity trainers, diversity whatever to make your life a living hell. Their purpose is to indoctrinate the public into multiculturalism and racial egalitarianism. These people are incredibly rude and arrogant and even if they have degrees in grievance studies, they still think they are morally and intellectually better than you are. They will always exist as long as there are non-whites in the US and it will only get worse because of massive 3rd world immigration.

        • Ellis Kurtz

“They will always exist as long as there are non-whites in the US…”

They will always exist as long as whites support them. Whites, not non-whites, are the problem. If whites came to their senses, the grievance studies farce would be over in no time.

Discrimination against white men is the legal definition of diversity. If there’s a diversity plan, that’s what happens. You can term in another way or explain why it is necessary but that is the literal definition of diversity. That’s what’s actually happens. Perhaps they prefer the window dressings of diversity where they simply talk about how bad whites (that would be the white privilege parts I think) are and how good people of color are. In our wacky world, some companies need to have iron clad, legal proof they are discriminating against white men in order to reduce the odds they will be sued for discrimination. Of course, all of them publically say they are in favor of it in the first place.

    • AndrewInterrupted

That’s a fact. I’ve been on the receiving end of the Discrimination & Exclusion machine, on and off, dating back to the 1980’s. I used to just shake my head and take the high road out. Not any more.

I spent the last few years educating myself on the topic. One site was especially helpful: AdversityDOTnet. The EEOC and the OFCCP clearly exist for one reason and one reason only: to hate on hetero, white males.

  • Who Me?

This seems to be happening a lot these days. Some lefty goes too far, and says something obviously over the edge. Some Whites feel obligated to call them on it. So they retract, apologize, then when the furor (such as it is) dies down, they come back with a weaker version along the same lines.
The one I can think of most recently was the White racist babies. When people got upset about that, they withdrew, Now they are saying “children age 7 or so are racist”. Same thing, a little less strong.
This is another example, another prong into the mass, so to speak.

  • I suppose they can’t live with us and they can’t live without us. Must be some of our endearing little ways, like the ability to generate electricity, Food Stamps, automobiles, indoor plumbing, airplanes, central heating, ships, athletic shoes, computers, clothing, non-drumming musical instruments, food products without live bug prizes inside, enough law and order so that everything isn’t just one big buzzing hive of crime, corruption, violence and poverty, and such like.

Too many whites believe they have to go extinct because they were indoctrinated into accepting personal responsibility for slavery and European colonialism. If you ask them how they can be responsible for something they have no control over, they have no response. Yet they continue to insist that whites must die out in order to make room for vicious, brutal 3rd world immigrants. This is because liberalism is neither rational belief-system or coherent political ideology. It’s a death cult for bigoted religious fanatics.

More white nationalists for us, wake them all up please, thank you.

  • The Final Solution

I was playing Star Trek Online today and one of the first ships I saw in the shipyard was the USS Diversity of the LGBQT Fleet. LOL. They invited me to their fleet. I was like HELL NO! I should have opened fire on them but I don’t think you can attack friendly ships. These people are mentally deranged.

    • Alexandra1973

Send them to raid the Romulans. LOL

    • DudeWheresMyCountry?

You should join with a ship the USS DIE-versity.

      • The Final Solution

Not a chance. My ship is the USS Bismarck. One ship to destroy them all!!

  • Kenner

This anti-white radical stuff happens all the time here in Seattle, I’m surprised they were even called on it.

  • bilderbuster

And don’t forget all those pushy Jewish people.

    • JohnEngelsman

What do you mean by “pushy”?

  • M&S

I love the white kid acting like ‘it’s the opposite of what they are preaching’ and ‘you can’t blame white people because they are white’ and ‘we’re all supposed to be working together’ are suddenly new concepts to him.
While he sits at a table of other young white males playing D&D or whatever.
    Get a clue boy.
Social groups are innately cliqueish and exclusive because, like any other pack, they know in numbers they have a better chance of establishing social paradigms with deprive others whom they exclude from their group.
Being ‘of color’ is not about being a victim group of white prejudice, it’s about _setting up_ a group of non-white prejudice and enablement. It always was a divide and conquer strategy masquerading as a guilt trip.
Because that’s how human minds work. And in a world where whites don’t allow explicit attitudes about white /class/ privilege it’s easy to keep the lower classes in their place by tying them in knots over a supposed you-owe-us social equivalency game with non-whites.
Get it? Nobody questions the rich being rich and white. But everyone questions the middles being white and smart.
Ask yourself, why is the dean a woman? Why is the Karama-Bama-I’m-Not-An-Indian-Blackhorn a woman? What kind of stupidity is ‘in charge’ at a school where diversity is a requirement and female empowerment leads to a glaring lack of diversity?
Are women ‘required’ to attend white male diversity inclusion classes?
Or are they really that arrogant that they don’t see that they are setting up the very kinds of ‘safe’ environment white men once enjoyed, only without the GDP work product as useful side benefit to push our economy forward?
    Empower idiots, get hypocrisy.
Starting with a cameraman who can’t stop shooting white men ‘at play’ in the library when it comes to inclusivism (suggestive of white male privilege, as a waste of college education) but won’t go the extra mile to figure out exactly how many of these 300 faculty are in fact whites being excluded from a bar talk.
Welcome to the leftist libtardian “I’m weak therefore you will be too so I don’t feel intimidated!” world.

  • WhiteGuyInJapan

Tim Wise likes to have his cake and eat it, too. He writes “we Whites” and then talks about how bad “we” are. Later, he identifies as Jewish and writes “you Whites”.
Granted, he lives in a neighborhood with the demographics of a Klan rally.

    • Katherine McChesney

‘Granted, he lives in a neighborhood with the demographics of a Klan rally.’

No, he doesn’t. He lives in an upscale predominately White town. A klan rally wouldn’t qualify to live there as they are low class…lower than rednecks.

      • LHathaway

yes, but the point is the demogrpahics would be the same – Tim Wise neighbors and this ‘rally’.

  • Lada Belyy

LOL…Everybody knows that “anti-racism” is just a code word for “anti-White”.

    • D.B. Cooper

Not everybody knows that, and too many white people still don’t have a clue.

  • Emblematical

White people should never complain when they are excluded from things like this. It’s good that it happens. The more White people are excluded from ‘people of color’ things the more they are likely to realize that White people have their own separate identity and interests.

  • Lagerstrom

As Bugs Bunny said, ‘Your slip is showing!’

  • MooTieFighter

What’s wrong? They simply wanted to get together to discuss how to take more money from whites, increase their special treatments, and then discuss how bad they hate us. We are feeding poisonous snakes and allowing them to multiply. It will only harm us and this country.

  • themadplumber

Its always a mistake once a spot light is shinned on the underbelly of racism, i don’t believe it and all who orginized it should be fiered.

  • DudeWheresMyCountry?

    Multiculturalism at it’s finest.

  • DudeWheresMyCountry?

Western Civilization: for us, by us.

  • DudeWheresMyCountry?

No apology. No remorse. Only racism from a person who would live in a straw hut if not for the people she hates. She even admits she and her cohorts would be more free to be hateful and racist without White participation. Does anyone have her email? We should bombard her with White happy hour comments. The vermin don’t get to get away with this garbage.

  • Sloppo

I think I may have spotted a typo in the article.

“An attempt to fight racism at a community college may have backfired.”

    should have been

“An attempt to organize non-whites to impoverish and marginalize whites at a community college may have backfired.”

  • Sloppo

“If you want to create space for white folks to meet and work on racism, white supremacy, and white privilege to better our campus community and yourselves, please feel free to do just that.”

This should be taken as an invitation to start a white student union. In a show of good faith, the people in the WSU could start off by promoting white separatism as an avenue to eliminate the possibility of a future where white people rule over non-whites (white supremacy). The formation and maintenance of whites-only nations should be promoted as a moderate white-supremacy-preventing alternative to the main-stream idea of destroying and ethnically replacing whites everywhere.

  • PesachPatriot

are you talking about the historical one in jerusalem(most of that is actually underground now) or the newer one along the 1967 border? If you lived next door to muhammad the suicide bomber and ahmed the sniper you’d build a pretty big fence too….its a warzone, not a beach resort

  • AndrewInterrupted

The top 18 donors to the Democratic Party are unions. Since O’Bummer bailed-out the autos and Trumka is pro-amnesty, it looks like the auto unions went the way of the addicted as well.

  • LHathaway

That John Travolta fantasy movie about blacks being in charge and whites being in fear will come to pass.

    What movie was that?

Though I haven’t seen it, whites seem to be in fear already. Then they’re blamed for that too! When a single black girl, somewhere, anywhere, was said to be living in fear (of whites) the entire nation had to rally around ensuring that never be the case. But when whites are afraid, even seeminly all of them, they’re blamed for it! It is a sign of moral deficiency, something. They are certainly blamed when they are afraid.

    • shmo123

The movie was “White Man’s Burden”; it came out in 95 and starred John Travolta and Harry Belafonte. It was panned by most critics and flopped at the box office.

  • VikingBl00d

That creature is a disgrace to Mjölnir.

  • JohnEngelsman

Those are all lies perpetrated by a media that is biased against non-gentile Caucasians.

  • nobody

It’s really no surprise that her type hates straight white males, none of them would ever have anything to do with her. Not that she looks like she is all that interested anyway, if you know what I mean.

  • nignogger

The school should fire this negress Karama Blackhorn. If a white woman did this, this would of happened.

  • armchairgenius

Diversity = No Whites. Opponents to Diversity = Raycissts. Have a Nice Day !

  • Homo_Occidentalis

Which is why Israel built a state of the art fence to keep out illegal African immigrants, secretly dumped African blood donations (regardless of the HIV status of the donor), and was plotting to ship all of its African migrants to Australia? Hong Kong and Japan are essentially monocultures, and are virtually 100% Oriental in any case. Your comment is what is unfounded here. It’s pretty clear that you’re out of your depth on this site where calling your opponent a “racist” won’t automatically win an argument.

  • “even the blackest parts of the american deep south don’t have suicide bombings, missile attacks and stone throwing riots every friday in the summer time….”

Not yet, but wait and see…
