Top 10 Media Hate-Crime Hoaxes of 2013

John Nolte, Breitbart, December 31, 2013

The only thing the elite media hates more than America is Americans. How else to explain why the mainstream media is relentlessly willing to frame us for hate crimes we didn’t commit. Time and again and again, and with nary a shred of evidence, for decades the media have dropped all pretense of basic journalistic standards–you know, like verification–and, armed with only their own bigoted wishful thinking and preconceptions, never fail to charge full-speed ahead to breathlessly blow up one phony hate crime after another.

This year alone there were ten–ten!–bogus hate crimes (and I probably missed some) that received serious local and/or national media traction before being debunked as hoaxes.

We’ll start with my personal favorite hoax….

1. The Framing of George Zimmerman

For nearly two years, the mainstream media did everything in its wicked power to frame the Hispanic George Zimmerman as a white racist who had shot and killed teenager Trayvon Martin (Zimmerman was acquitted by a jury) in a racist rage.

Before the media knew Zimmerman was Hispanic, they labeled him white.

After the media knew Zimmerman was Hispanic, they still labeled him white.

NBC News and CNN both fabricated evidence that falsely portrayed Zimmerman as racist.

The media as a whole refused to report Zimmerman’s history of colorblindness and the fact that a Justice Department investigation found no evidence that race had anything to do with the tragic shooting.

Using a shooting that had absolutely nothing to do with race or Stand Your Ground laws or anyone white or anything to do with white privilege (whatever that is), the media made a collective and public fool of themselves pretending otherwise for a full year.

The only real racism throughout all of this was committed by a powerful media against a working class Hispanic man. HLN’s Nancy Grace might have distinguished herself, but she was just running with the pack.

2.  Oprah Winfrey and the $38,000 Purse

It was all just a little too neat.

While out in the media hyping a new feature film, “The Butler,” that focused on American race relations over the decades, billionaire media titan Oprah Winfrey just happened to have a nifty little anecdote to share about being a victim of racism herself. While out shopping recently for a purse more expensive than a new car, Winfrey claimed to have been victimized by a racist Swiss sales clerk. According to Winfrey, the clerk looked at the color of Oprah’s skin and assumed she couldn’t afford a $38,000 purse.

Although they practice racism, Winfrey refused to name the offending Swiss boutique or the clerk. This of course also made it difficult for the media to check up on her story–not that they would have.

Our mindless media, instead, were enthralled by Oprah’s tale of terror and the story dominated for days. The entire country of Switzerland ended up apologizing.

The whole thing finally collapsed when the anonymous clerk came out and  branded Oprah a liar.

In the end, Oprah was forced to put the fire out by backing off her claim with a non-apology apology.

The media were just as eager to drop it.

3. The Oberlin College Racism Hoax

Michelle Malkin:

Busted. Stone-cold busted. Just as I suspected, “progressive” pranksters at Oberlin College have been definitively unmasked as the perpetrators of phony campus “hate crimes” that scored international headlines in March. The blabbermouth academic administrators who helped fuel the hysteria are now running for cover. The Associated Press, USA Today, The New York Times, MSNBC, Yahoo News and the Huffington Post were among the media outlets that trumpeted the story of supposed racism, homophobia and anti-Semitism run amok at my alma mater. Throughout the winter, anti-black and anti-gay graffiti, swastikas, and a shadowy figure in a “KKK hood” surfaced on the tiny campus outside Cleveland, Ohio. Black Entertainment Television News decried the hate outbreaks and “KKK sighting.”

5. The Black Student Receives Racist Text Hoax

Back in May, the world was stunned to learn that a black 16-year-old prep school student received racist texts.

Four of them!

All of that is true, except the student sent the texts to himself.

8. The Racist Football Graffiti Hoax

In Lunenburg, Massachusetts someone spray painted “Knights don’t need n**gers” on the side of Andrea Brazier’s home. Brazier is white. Her husband Phillip is black. Her son Isaac is biracial and plays on his high school football team, the Knights.

Isaac also claimed that he had been bullied and harassed at school over the color of his skin.

Candlelight vigils were held. The town rallied behind Isaac and his family. The media wrung its hands.

Guess who spray painted her own house?

9. The Vassar College Hate-Message Hoax

The College Fix:

Former Fix assistant editor Robby Soave has published an investigative report on a series of “hate crimes” at Vassar College. Turns out, it was all an elaborate hoax, carried out by the left-wing leader of the school’s official “Bias Incident Response Team.” …

One of those students responsible for the hoaxes, Soave reports, is a self-proclaimed transgendered student who goes by the name Genesis Hernandez, who has now been forced to leave the school in disgrace.

    Here’s hoping this year’s hoaxes are more…public.

  • JohnEngelman

American Renaissance is one of the media outlets that makes these hate crime hoaxes a little less easy to promote.

  • MartelC

and remember….if the media could have gotten away with any of these hoaxes, they would have.. They’ll keep trying.

    • bilderbuster

But they do get away with it.
They repeat these stories over & over, many times internationally & report the hoax only once then bury it.

  • Luca

The biggest hoax for 5 years running is Obama and company.

  • robinbishop34

Within the last year or so there was a ‘hate crime’ that occurred in my town. The local news crew immediately jumped in their hate crime helicopter to cover what turned out to be a predictably amateurish hoax a few days later.

They acknowledged the error but then went on to describe the hoax as a ‘teachable moment’ that ‘brought the community together’ and ‘raised awareness,’ and any other worn out cliches you can think of.

    • David Ashton

This resembles in miniature the indoctrination function of the Global Mandiba Mania Macrocosm. The media hype and liberal establishment frenzy were more alarming than the actual record of Comrade Nelson of the SACP. The agenda that promoted Stalin, Mao, Castro and Obama continues on automatic pilot with the volume turned up louder than ever.

      • Turn it up too high and it becomes nothing but indecipherable static. More and more people are simply tuning them out and they’re in a blind panic, which is delightful to witness.

    • Tim_in_Indiana

They acknowledged the error but then went on to describe the hoax as a ‘teachable moment’ that ‘brought the community together’ and ‘raised awareness,’ and any other worn out cliches you can think of.

And I’ll bet the only reason they downplayed the hoaxes like that is that the perpetrator was nonwhite.

      • dodger

I think it’s an automatic reflex, in these Orwellian times, to get behind the alleged non-White or sexual deviant victim and point the finger at the White, conservative patriotic person.

It earns them brownie points with their employers, government and increases their influence with people in power.

It also goes wrong and leaves them looking like idiots, though other journalists never exploit their discomfort. What a great opportunity they are missing, which suggests they are part of the hoax as well.

These hoaxes are part of a conspiracy theory. Except it’s not a theory but a proven fact.

        Conspiracy fact.

    • Whitetrashgang

Yeah next will be the Knockout game as a teachable moment. From now on when ever I take a dump I want media coverage and a medal. Not to shiny or the wrong people will come over.

    • I saw Jim Goad’s list. I noticed one of the 13 was the Asparagus Asperger from U-City.

    • Brian

I’m still chortling over Goad’s description of Rachel Jeantel as a ‘petulant chocolate toadstool’.

      • tlk244182

That does it. Im going to Takimag right now.

    • ncpride

Thanks for the heads up on that Taki article. I laughed til the tears flowed….Hilarious.

  • Spartacus

I’m annoyed at all the hoaxes, because there wouldn’t be so many of them if real cases existed…

  • Tim_in_Indiana

the media made a collective and public fool of themselves

I only wish this were true. Unfortunately, the (white) American public has consistently failed to hold the media accountable for their lies and distortions. The Huffington Post is one of the most popular websites on the Internet. As the author says, “for decades the media have dropped all pretense of basic journalistic standards” but whites have consistently failed to hold them accountable. Otherwise, the media wouldn’t have been able to get away with all these distortions for all these years.

  • sbuffalonative

They don’t fall for these stories, they’re active participants. They jump on these stories because they want to be seen as championing a righteous cause. If it’s true, they’re a ‘civil rights hero’. When they don’t pan out, they stop reporting them and hope no one remembers their association with the story.

    • Lewis33

When they don’t “pan out” they just say “These serve as good examples of how racism effects daily lives, because they COULD happen.”

      • dodger

Yes but the real victim is always White.

      • Funruffian

I don’t think they care whether it pans out or not in the immediate sense. Sooner or later, they know it will have a numbing effect on the psyche of young America. It’s like the little food outlets at Airports that markup the cost of drinks and cheap sandwiches by 3 or 4 times. They don’t care if they sell 10 sandwiches or 100 sandwiches per day. They use it as a convenience to yoke an even larger purpose. The more you bilk the public into thinking that something exorbitant or reprehensible is acceptable, the more it will eventually become acceptable.

    • Pro_Whitey

Tom Wolfe portrayed this pretty well in “The Bonfire of the Vanities”. Both the press and the prosecutors seeking the Great White Defendant. Despite the German name, George ZImmerman just did not meet the bill.

  • Rick Brooks

We’re in a new year folks!! So I’m sure we won’t have to wait long for the next hate-crime hoax to be promoted by the likes of CNN, MSNBC, The Washington Post, USA Today etc.

    • dodger

They’re happening all the time. We don’t always recognise them as hoaxes. Only when they screw up.

  • ssviking

How many black on white hate crimes has the Jewish media helped to instagate because of their constant lies? How many knockout games? Home invasions? And just out right murders, the media is just as guilty as the bantus in fact i would say more so. taking natural bantu anger and stupidity and directing it like a beam onto whites everywhere. the author of this piece inadvertently i think stumbled on the number one problem facing us today, the media and the ones who have in a virtual monopoly today.

    • bilderbuster

  • Magician

I wonder why St. Trayvon Martin was covered for months and months, even before any verdict was made on him, whereas the young black woman in Michigan who suffered a fatal shot gun blast in the face, even if she was harming neither the home owner nor damaging any of his personal properties, was basically never mentioned in the mainstream media.

  • Magician

And we are living in a world where it makes it to the local news if a black person “says” he received racist text messages on his phone!!

  • ssviking

You know it gets rather old having your comments moderated out of existence simply for making a reference to jews on here. a rather mild comment and its deleted. I known some on here say they don’t wa?nt amren turning into stormfront, but ill say this for stormfront at least you can have a honest debate without being moderated out of existence.

    • Raydonn

I agree, its a bit much…..the proverbial 800 lb gorilla is not to be mentioned…….’allegedly’…..

    • jackryanvb

No. Amren has clear standards. Amren is not a place for people to rant and rave about how much they hate THE JOOOOZE, or how much they hate women, Catholics, or spout wild, unsubstantiated conspiracy theories.

Our people need to learn discipline. We have good rules here. Follow the rules. There are plenty of places on the Internet where you can rant and rave about THE JOOOZ…. And pretty soon you will find yourself in the company of loons who want to ally us with nasty, swarthy Afro Arab Islamic terrorist leaders in Yemen.

      • ssviking

First of all claiming an discussion about Jews is conspiracy theory is just nonsense. every problem we face must be looked at from multiple points of view. my opinion is just as valid as yours or anyone else’s on here. second you completely ignore the tribes virtual monopoly on the news media and how much of a problem this is, this article displays this perfectly someone asked about weather the people making these false hate crime alagations were punished for their lies just as valid a question is weather the media outlets that have directed the natural hatred and envy of bantus like a red hot beam on whites everywhere should be held accountable. and what the hell does Yemen have to do with anything?

  • nignogger

The most recent controlled media BS is this knockout game that has been going on for a few years. The j$w controllers of the media deliberately leave out the race of the 99.9 % of the negro punchers, even if the incidents make the papers, No hate crime charges, just another ‘act of random violence on a white person,.’ But boy, when one of their own get hit as happened in Bronx, with yarmulke wearing boys as victim, the press is red red hot and the negs get hate crime charges. I like the white crusader who punched the old negro, he was right, he did get massive media attention, and a federal hate crime charge. Tell you the power of the alien controllers of the media and where its going.

  • dodger

Doesn’t matter how much money people have. The race card is everything.

  • John R

I was walking down the street, minding my own business, when suddenly, I was set upon by a pack of black youths. They knocked me down, kicked me, punched me, and yelled racist things about whites to me. Well, actually, it didn’t really happen, but that doesn’t matter: My story serves as an example of all the anti-white racism that blacks are guilty of, and they should still be ashamed of themselves. There, do you think that’ll work?

    • Earl Turner

In other words, your day was culturally enriched by Weaponized Diversity™.

  • In spite of the fact that George Zimmerman was acquitted at trial, the media smear campaign was successful in some respects: the resulting frivolous prosecution bankrupted him, and he also has to worry about the death threats he received from lunatics the media coverage stirred up. Even when the hoaxes are exposed in other incidents, they have already succeeded in creating a hostile environment – fear of and distrust for heterosexual white men. The left continues to stage incidents like these because they work, and there are almost never any serious consequences for the hoaxers themselves, even on the occasions when the hoaxes are exposed as such. Crystal Mangum, for instance was never charged with any crime in the Duke rape hoax, when she could, and should have been indicted for felony obstruction of justice. If and when the truth comes out and inconveniently does not fit the leftist media’s preferred narrative, the stories are quietly dropped; a year from now, nobody will remember the Vassar “hate” hoaxes or the graffiti in Luxenburg. Aside from a relative handful of race-realists, the public has already forgotten about the rash of “noose” hoaxes several years ago and the mainstream media’s credulous assertions 24/7 that grown black adults were paralyzed with infantile fear at bits of knotted string.

Don’t be optimistic that revealing these incidents as hoaxes and outing their perpetrators will reduce their frequency. Racial grievance is an industry, and exposure of some of the hoaxes is just part of the cost of the left’s doing business.

    • sbuffalonative

Mark Twain was said to have said, ‘a lie can travel half way around the world before the truth puts it’s boots on’.

Saul Alinsky had a similar take which he encouraged the ‘progressive’ left to use; relentlessly attack your enemy with ridicule, pressure, impossible and ultra-high standards to the point where they are so consumed with defending themselves and become incapable of defending themselves.

The ‘progressive’ left attacks are incessant and relentless. As Alinksy said, it’s almost impossible to defend yourself against ridicule. Attack, attack, attack.

The intent is to destroy your enemy.

    • John R

So true. While we spend all of our time wringing our hands about how the poor “teens” wearing hoodies are “profiled” the fact that these people do commit the lion’s share of street crime gets conveniently overlooked. What should concern most reasonable people-of all colors-is not that blacks are profiled, but that the profiling is reasonable under the circumstances.

    BOB MARLEY had this idea,
it was kind of a virologist’s idea.

He believed that you could cure
racism and hate. Literally cure it…

    …by injecting music and love
    into people’s lives.

    One day, he was scheduled
to perform at a peace rally.

    Gunmen came to his house
    and shot him down.

    Two days later…

…he walked out on that stage and sang.

    Somebody asked him why.

    He said, “The people…

…who are trying to make this world worse
are not taking a day off.

    How can I?”

    Light up the darkness.

    • DiversityIsDeath

      Are you 5 years old?

    • Katherine McChesney

Something is ‘off’ about your story.

    • Jim

      “Light up the darkness.”

Yeah, with some security lights, especially if you live where Bob Marley did.

  • He was wounded in the arm and chest in December 1976, but not badly. I recall his wife and his manager were also shot and more seriously injured. The shooting was over the concert he was scheduled to perform; the gunmen were members of some Jamaican crime gang.

  • John K

Of course, this is why hate-crime legislation was passed in the first place; it’s an endless attempt to subdue whitey.

When skinheads were being blamed for burning and vandalizing black churches in the 1990s, Bill Clinton vowed to rebuild them from the ground up (with the taxpayers footing the bill, of course). Guess what? Churches started burning even faster. Here’s a hint: it wasn’t skinheads.

    • At first I suspected it was teenage “Satanists”, but it turned out to not be whites at all; it was black pastors who wanted insurance money.

      • dodger

        Mosques too.

  • Yale2001

Good for John Nolte. Love to see these anti-whites called out for their behavior.

  • Anna Tree

He shouldn’t have hit anybody. There are other ways to show the anti-white double standard without becoming a criminal.

  • dodger

    Oprah’s handbag is my favorite.

Could be a good euphemism for all such hoaxes.

  • MystiKasT

    blacks are a real problem.
