The 25 Most Failed States on Earth

Geoffrey Ingersoll and Brian Jones, Business Insider, July 11, 2013

This summer, Foreign Policy came out with its annual list of the most failed states on the globe, based on 12 metrics including social, economic, and political and military indicators.

We covered how Canada beat out the U.S. as less of a failed state.

Now, we’re giving a complete breakdown of the worst of the worst. In the year 2013, it’s hard to believe that life can be so bad.

[Editor’s Note: The list is available in slideshow format here. Each state is accompanied by a stunning photo like the one for Kenya, below.]

I don’t see any White countries listed. Hm.

    • Laura Dilworth

are there any white countries anymore?

      • Whitetrashgang

Also with Obama care the wheels might finally come off.

        • Laura Dilworth

till they grant amnesty to millions of democrats

          • SoulInvictus

            I think I’m in love. 😉

          • Laura Dilworth

            really?

          • SoulInvictus

Well, you do say the sweetest things. 😉
            It’s quite endearing.

          • Laura Dilworth

            thank you

      • Alexandra1973

        Okay, *historically* White.

        • MBlanc46

“Historically white”? What a concept. It’s one that we should try to give some currency to, as in, “Sorry, Dontavious, this restauant is ‘historically white'”.

    • Keep hitting “page down.”

        Failed humans.

        • mgs166

          Failed everything.

    • 48224

A list of failed American cities would share the same complexion. How sad that this fact will be swept under the rug and/or ignored. I keep wondering how long this will go on until “it” hits the fan.

      • SoulInvictus

The day the next banking bubble pops, there’s no money for a bailout, and the EBT cards get cut off.

    • jeffaral

And ignorant Whites who help them!

  • Max Krakah

White countries need to hermetically seal themselves off from second and third world countries. They should be kept in ignorance of our world, our technology, us. WE need to let their societies hit the wall, and their populations to fall, no aid, no support. Any raw materials we get from them should be handled by one conglomerate, that totally insulates our ships, planes and mining operations, from the natives. . Any agricultural operations in their lands should be walled off and kept secret from them. We should not use their labor at all. WE should become a mystery to their ignorant primitive brains and they should be made to fear us. This is all perfectly feasible with modern technology such as drones to patrol any operations we have in their lands, microwave beams to keep them at a distance, micro-robots that look like insects to monitor them and spook them.
Civilization in africa has quickly deteriorated, we must let that process come to completion, we must let the creatures numbers drop to the levels they were before the white man came.

    • Whitetrashgang

That will not happen unless WT goes to war,Last I looked most whites were watching football and porn, and taking it up the you know what.

    • Alexandra1973

      I’m an isolationist myself.

      • Max Krakah

WE need our own countries and we need to be united in a federation of secrecy. If these creatures know of us and don’t fear us, they will come after us. Better they don’t know of us, but if they do, better they never actually see us, we can use robots, and better they fear us. Let them make all sorts of cargo cults or whatever , just keep them out, and hopefully we can watch them die out.

    • Franklin_Ryckaert

Above all, don’t sell weapons to these people!

That photo looks like a still from ‘District 9’.

        Ape.

The natural factors aside, Africa would be a lot more livable if they stop having civil wars. I have seen photos of five year old African boys carrying auto guns on their backs.

    • Whitetrashgang

That’s called Detroit on the map.

  • Puggg

I’m a dog, and I can only rely on my doggy sense. I don’t have the best of ways with words.

But I read here that Canada is less of a failed state than the USA, or the USA is more of a failed state than Canada, though both are way better than your typical joke of a country in black Africa.

Is Canada’s better ranking than us related to the fact that we have more black Africans?

    • MBlanc46

“Is Canada’s better ranking than us related to the fact that we have more black Africans?”

      I betcha.

    • DNA Explains It All

Oh hush now, everyone knows diversity is our greatest asset.

  • Funruffian

After taking several minutes of viewing this vividly ugly slide show, the thought that there are still some people stupid enough to join the Peace Corp and “Make a difference’ baffles me.

    • sbuffalonative

You can’t help people who can’t help themselves.

      • John K

Animals cannot do a human’s job.

  • OhWow

Oh come on guys! Clearly we were mean to them 400 years ago and that explains every deficit their people have!

I’m sure pumping more money in their schools and welfare would help!

    • Northerner

Western Aid is largely responsible for Africa’s population explosion. Not only that, but it also made them dependent. Are whites directly responsible for all that’s happened to them? No. Did whites add to their predicament? Yes

    • Franklin_Ryckaert

Yes, give them billions in aid, but only in Zimbabwean currency!

  • One good thing is that FoPo’s rank of most and least failed states has a numerical index, ranking at 113.9 at worst for Somalia and 18.0 at best for Finland, with all other countries somewhere in between.

I bet that if you plotted the country’s Failed State Index against the country’s percent black population, you would find that the r-factor is definitely in the 0.9-1.0 range, and it may be as close to 1.0 as any such r-factor as you’ll find in social sciences.

Likewise, if you had a way to plot the percent of the country’s population’s DNA that is Northern-Western European against its FSI, you’d have an r-factor of close to negative 1.0.

My only slight criticism of these kinds of studies is that since Scandinavian countries are always at the top, the metrics of positivity are probably written by Scandinavians with the cultural and social nuances of Scandinavians in mind. However, the good part about that is that you can’t blame white racism on black Africa(ns) always placing at and near the bottom, because Scandinavians move Heaven and Earth not to be racist.

  • Tim_in_Indiana

Hmmm, no European or white-majority countries on the whole list. You ask a liberal about this and they will say it’s because whites are masters at exploiting other nations! So I guess the liberal philosophy is that it pays to be exploitative, eh? Tells you a lot about the liberal mindset.

  • So CAL Snowman

25.) Eritrea ( I always think urethra for some reason)
23.) (tie) Liberia (former “american” slaves)

    21.) Syria (why so serious?)
20.) Burundi (Um no snark necessary it’s called Burundi for Christ’s sake)
19.) Ethiopia (home of the all you can eat fly buffet)
18.) Niger (quite the unfortunate name but hey that’s THEIR word)
17.) Kenya (yes I’m going with an Obama “home country” joke here)
16.) Nigeria (lots of oil + lots of black people = lots of poverty and violence)
15.) Guinea Bissau (an egregious use of the Portuguese language)
14.) Guinea (not to be confused with the cute little pigs – quite the opposite in fact)
13.) Pakistan (when you are higher on this list than Eritrea I think it’s time to panic)
12.) Cote D’Ivoire (that fancy sounding French name can’t hide your blackness)
11.) Iraq (under Saddam what were they ranked? Good job Bush Jr AND Sr.)
10.) Zimbabwe (Failure to connect defecating in wells with Cholera outbreak)

1.) Somalia (Yo Ho Yo Ho A Pirate’s Life For Me!)

    • Alexandra1973

I’m rather surprised China didn’t make that list, given all the stuff I’ve heard about it. But I suppose even life in China might be somewhat better than life in sub-Saharan Africa.

            Cote de KaKa?

          • Max Krakah

            good one

      • Northerner

Given how long China has survived as a civilization, one could argue that they’re actually the most successful state in human history. Also keep in mind that the U.S. media exaggerates a lot of the bad stuff about them, because China is seen as a rival.

        • I’ve been to China and I do not have to exaggerate how it is a completely filthy, polluted place. As much as I love seafood, I will not eat anything caught in the water there. China needs an environmental movement immediately if not sooner.

          • Northerner

They have a lot of pollution because they manufacture most goods for the entire world. The outsourcing of U.S. factories plays a huge role in their environmental issues. You have a problem most Americans do, in that you either forget or can’t see it, so are quick to blame them. If we had to do what China does, there would be no way our environment would be the same

          • I’ve been there, and it really seemed to me that their elites just don’t care. Sometimes, I couldn’t see across the road. I don’t love Chinese the way Mr. Engelman does or hate them the way my wife does, but this is an absolute crying shame.

When I worked as a research chemist in the microelectronics industry, I made spin-on solutions of metal-oxide ceramic precursors for prototype parts. I used a fairly large quantity of organic solvents in this, which were generally distilled out during the course of my work. Rather than condemn this as laboratory waste and incur my bosses additional expense, I mixed it 50-50 with gasoline and ran my Mazda RX-7 on it. That 30 year-old engine is now in my wife’s 1931 Model-A Ford.

The solution to pollution is not dilution; fish don’t like acetone in their water.

          • Northerner

You can’t use a personal anecdote about being resourceful and draw the conclusion that China’s leaders don’t care. The issues they deal with are massive, and they do so in the context of a developing country with multiple other problems to address.

          • Of course I can, but if their leadership was in any way responsible, they would recognize this as a problem to be managed. They are faced with the difficult burden of raising over a billion people out of poverty, but even political elites need to drink uncontaminated water and breathe clean air. Untreated sewage has made most of the fish even well off the Chinese coast unhealthy to eat. When there are a billion people packed into an area close to the size of the USA, they have to be especially responsible, for their own well-being.

          • Northerner

If you add one billion people to the U.S. population (making it equal to China’s) and then brought back all of our manufacturing plus more, we’d face most of the same problems they have. Would it mean that the American government didn’t care? or wasn’t working hard enough? Not necessarily. It’s just the circumstances of the situation. You’re biased against China. Your Japanese wife is probably also biased against China. It’s affecting your judgment, and there’s nothing really more to say.

          • I would want all the heavy manufacturing moved to the moon. There isn’t anything alive there, so the corporations could strip-mine it and pollute it all day long.

I have tried to tell my wife that there is room in Asia for more than one nationalistic country. European whites learned to our sorrow that we need not hate each other.

There’s a song by Air Supply I liked in high school, but I will paraphrase this band’s song, by saying some folks are “Making War Out Of Nothing At All”.

          • Katherine McChesney

That brings back memories. I worked for Arista in Los Angeles when we ‘discovered’ Air Supply through some demo tapes sent to us through the mail. I remember the song as well.

          • Lagerstrom

In my experience with Chinese and other Asians, they seriously could not give the remotest of ‘stuffs’ about the environment. They just don’t think about the environment the way that ‘Western’ people do.
Could you imagine how hard most Asians would be laughing at that Sea Shepherd boat that annually runs after the Japanese whaling ship when it ventures down into Antarctica? Not even a remote issue!

          • SirMe

Yes, but to be fair, there wouldn’t have been a industrial revolution if westerners cared about the environment for the lest 200 years. Environmental issues came about during the 60’s cultural revolution.

          • DNA Explains It All

Working at Texaco’s flow research facility in Humble, Tx, they had one environmental guy that used to love that phrase. He swore by it, and released “stuff” based on it that I would not have.

          • I love seafood, especially shellfish. These are filter-feeders, so I’m a bit of a fanatic when it comes to not poisoning the oceans.

  • Rhialto

A better title for the article would be the “25 Least Liberal States on Earth”. The rules that are used to judge a country essentially measure how Liberal the country is. The 14 greenies, with the possible exception of Iceland, are all being colonized/scavenged by the Third world. This means that these “states” are no longer nations, but territories. Last place Somalia is more of a nation than ex-nations, 1st & 2nd place Finland and Sweden

  • Spartacus

I read some of the commentaries on the original article… Most blame “corporations”, “exploitation” and “culture”…. Oh, and socialism, of course :

    • bigone4u

Yes, that’s what the economic development textbooks used in universities teach–exploitation. There are constant schemes by economists that promise to “develop” these countries. The reality is that no matter how many dams and roads the white man builds for them, they never develop, because their minds are incapable of developing.

      • So CAL Snowman

Many of these countries have been developing since the early 60’s and earlier. It just takes time, which explains why 50 years after being set free, our North American blacks are getting even worse and regressing to their normal tribal states (i.e. warring gangs of youths and adults).

        • Whitetrashgang

My ex partner from Trinidad use to say Blacks and natives are racing to the bottom of the barrel. Also a waste of skin and bone and there is no hope for these people. None white people see this easily. Oh and they use to call Natives Ni66ers of the North.

      • Max Krakah

my favorite stories are about the instances when people in these countries try to tap into gasoline pipelines and the usual hilarity ensues.

  • Luca

Wow, the graphic in this article bears a striking resemblance to one I saw regarding Countries with the Highest/Lowest Average IQ..

Say… you don’t suppose there is a correlation between low IQ and failed states, do you?

Let me ponder that one for awhile, I’m sure the answer will come to me.

  • Ograf

That is what our enemies want our country to look like. Every day that goes by is a day closer to 3rd world America.

  • Truthseeker

Golly gee! So many of these failed states seem to be concentrated around the continent of Africa! What bad luck it is that so many terrible states seem to pop up in that region! Those poor black people! Bad stuff just keeps happening to them!

    • jane johnson

      An epidemic of bad juju.

  • bigone4u

Although the creature in the picture is wearing a shirt and pants, its father would have worn a loincloth, although he would have seen western clothes. It’s grandfather could barely have conceived of the idea of shirt and pants.

Primitive minds can only create primitive conditions. Unless, genetics advances to the point where the stupid gene is bred out of these creatures, they will always bring up the bottom.

Our job is to not allow them to mix with us and drag us down too.

    • DNA Explains It All

I am betting he didn’t wear anything so “modern” or sophisticated as a loincloth, probably a gourde on his junk and a few shrunken heads round his neck.

  • Bossman

These failed states are all either African or Islamic. When you mix Islam with African, you get even more chaos and more misery.

    • newscomments70

I don’t think mixing Christianity with African would yield much better.

    • Bossman

These failed states are not liberal. They are ruled by autocratic despots. The worst ones are the ones ruled by Islamic despots.

      • newscomments70

The white resistance, led by Ian Smith, was strangled by boycotts from Europe and the US. That’s what I meant. We should have been assisting Rhodesia, not boycotting them. White Rhodesians are our people, not the animal you see in the photo.

        • DNA Explains It All

That would have been nice, but defense of civilization is obviously not one of our goals.

          • newscomments70

Ian Smith was a hero, he was even admired by blacks. Rhodesia had a thriving black middle and wealthy class. Mugabe destroyed that though. White rule helps both black and white. Black rule destroys both black and white.

          • IstvanIN

Ian Smith survived because the whites and most blacks new what would replace him. The west overthrew his government. I read a little piece by a black Rhodesian who said “we salute Ian Smith because we respect him , we salute Robert Mugabe because we fear him.” Says it all.

    • jeffaral

    • Lagerstrom

Oi, don’t laugh. He’s the Minister for Finance!

  • John K

Surprise, most are African nations. Could it be that the United States is in the yellow because of the Kenyan Obama, a gigantic national debt, and his welfare and illegal alien constituents? In a sane world, America would be on top, and if this were the 1950s, we would be.

  • Two of these failed states – North Korea and Pakistan – possess atomic weapons. Pakistan’s laws include the death penalty for blasphemy and what passes for “law” in North Korea allows the death penalty for pretty much anything.

    • Max Krakah

In North Korea, if one complains one is starving to death, they execute one

      • Max Krakah

        and therefore…problem solved

      • The recent high-profile N.K. state murder victim, Mr. Jang was executed for his successful business contacts in China; apparently he hoped to follow the Deng Xiaoping model of economic reform.

        • Max Krakah

really?I heard China was not happy with that, now I see why. Kim is isolating himself, but he has atomic weapons, maybe they will be sent chinas way.

          • I have mixed feelings about Jang’s demise. On one hand, he lived very well in a national system in which most people do not and where people trying to escape are shot. This doesn’t make him a very sympathetic figure to me. On the other hand, economic liberalization the way China did would make North Korea a less pathologically dysfunctional state and Jang appears to have wanted that.

  • CourtneyfromAlabama

We have people like Sean Hannity who will look at this list and frown in disgust over the fact that several European countries rank ahead of the US. Neo conservatives like him rate countries based on whether they are capitalist or socialist. Race never matters.

    • Max Krakah

HE is everything that is wrong with white people.

    • SoulInvictus

Good to see another Alabamian on here. 🙂

  • AutomaticSlim

Wow, Haiti is only number 8.
That really says something about the top 7.

They are not in Africa and they are not Islamic. That is enough to earn some points.

      • Max Krakah

africa is in them. Africa, it is not just a place, it is a smell.

        • DNA Explains It All

          True DAT!

    • MBlanc46

      Just what I was thinking.

  • jeffaral

Interestlingly most failed states are former European colonies and christian.

    • sbuffalonative

I’m not sure were you’re going with this line of thought. Can you elaborate?

    • Equally interestingly, they have gotten worse since independence, and not better, so colonial occupation was a (temporary) civilizing effect. Of the two Koreas, the prosperous, Westernized south is the Christian one.

      • jeffaral

South Korea is not christian, has never been.

        • South Korea is 30% Christian, mostly Protestant. One of my friends went on mission, proselytizing there. Only 23% are Buddhist. More than half of South Koreans who have any religion at all are Christians.

          • jeffaral

The 30% figure is very inflated. After nuking Japan back to the stoneage, American missionaries descended on Japan like a plague of grasshoppers trying to destroy Japanese culture and traditions. The japanese stand their ground and became a success story.

          • I was referring to South Korea and not Japan.

          • jeffaral

I know! I was justing pointing out that high IQ nationalist northeastern Asians are protective of their cultures and don’t allow foreign influences like Christianity or Islam to dilute their national identities,

          • Andy

How is that relevant to religion of South Korea?

          • Sick of it

Everything is relevant to a guy who wants to bash Christianity over and over and over again. He might as well attend a synagogue, considering his passion for such things.

          • IstvanIN

In NJ a large number of Korean immigrants are Presbyterians. There are two Koren Presbyterian Churches not far from where I currently live.

          • Max Krakah

Yes, there are several Korean Churches in MA as well. Seems they are ALWAYS Christian.

          • LeGrandDerangement

One of the Catholic churches in my town has a Korean priest.

          • Lagerstrom

Every Korean I have ever met is a more serious Christian than any European I’ve ever met. Apart from my Catholic uncles and aunties that is.

    • MBlanc46

An awful lot of places were European colonies, some of which are among the richest places on Earth (not counting oil wealth).

      • Max Krakah

        Hong Kong, Shanghai

        • MBlanc46

          Or Canada. Or even US.

          • Max Krakah

IN Honk Kong and Shanghai, it was just culture that was transferred, not DNA

          • MBlanc46

Of course, the Chinese are an intelligent and organized people, unlike the Nigerians and the Somalis.

          • Max Krakah

yes, you can cram a million chinese into a city block and there is no crime, rape or murder

          • The United States, Canada, and Australia were once British colonies. We seem to have done rather well.

          • Lagerstrom

No legacy of colonialism then eh?

          • Dat turrble, turrble legacy ob de colonialism means we have nifty things like elected governments. The political figures and weird processes in these can be annoying at times, but are much less obnoxious than unelected governments.

      • IstvanIN

It is the human capital that counts. Had Kenya and Nigeria been repopulated by the British, as was done in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the original 13 colonies, they would be fabulously wealthy, beautiful countries. Unfortunately too much of the native population was left behind.

        • MBlanc46

It’s hard to disagree with Michael Christopher Scott (below) that colonialism was a positive experience for the Africans.

          • IstvanIN

I used to work with two woman, one a white hippie, the other a Nigerian who used to argue over the benefits, or lack thereof, of British Colonialism. The Nigerian was pro-British. I bet more Nigerians would stay in Nigeria if it were still British Administered. The people in Hong Kong were perfectly happy being a Crown Colony.

    • Andy

They are former European colonies because their inhabitants were savage or barbarian (I mean that technically, not pejoratively) before contact with Europeans. They are Christian because they are former European colonies. They were without exception much more safe and prosperous under white rule.

  • MBlanc46

It’s probably a mistake to call some of those states at all. Many of them would probably be better off if they reverted to tribalism and a subsistence economy (at least after the population was reduced to a sustainable level).

    • Alexandra1973

I understand that there has been an African Union for some time now, like the EU, and the coming NAU.

(They can’t even unite their crack pipes in one pile.)

  • Max Krakah

In North Korea, people are fed to dogs, while in south Korea…..

  • Max Krakah

I’ve heard that there is still a small number of farms in Rhodesia that are still owned/run by whites and that those farms, along with some white farms in mozambique are helping to sustain the situation in rhodesia. I think we should get a fund together to buy those farms from those whites, transport the whites and the white workers to Europe or the US and give the farms to blacks….so that they will all starve!

    • DNA Explains It All

Those remaining whites are actually just spies, they are there to make certain our sources of “stolen” Afro-Tech and political innovation remain viable. I mean where else are we to learn the latest and greatest?

      • Max Krakah

I think they suffer from “Stockholm Syndrome” or something. Special ops forces should be sent in to remove the remaining whites, even if they don’t want to go. There is a race war, and they are working for/sustaining the enemy. I think sabotaged “aid’ should also be sent, so as to destroy their ability to accept aid. We really need to start fighting this war to win it.

        • DNA Explains It All

I agree on the sabotaged aid, had to think about that one for a moment. I realized, that were the roles reversed these animals would DO ANYTHING to kill us off.

  • Michigan Patriot

Just check the standard Marxist/ liberal , anti-Western Civilization answer box on this test: White racism ! Liberals are more predictable than Sun rise.

  • ixObserver

Amazing photography of destitution and grief. A few observations

1- Sudan’s picture of a little kid is pretty striking with his/her( I think it’s a girl) light eyes. The kid has a very symmetric face – something that scientists have attributed beauty to and something I have not found to be true. This kid’s features are less African-American, thinner nose/lips, very similar to some Southern-Indians.

2- Iraq wouldn’t have been in this list if not for America’s adventure! Blame it on whoever but that’s a country destroyed. Even if the invasion never happened MSM may still have included Iraq in the list but at least the ground situation would have been different. If I remember correctly from my high school reading, under Saddam Iraqis could avail of free education from primary school all the way to post-graduate and PhD. The blood lust doesn’t end here, the vampires are baying for Iran’s blood.

3- I was a bit surprised that India or Mexico didn’t make the list but I forgot Africa while India presents a dilemma to many due to its inherent contradictions. For example India has more poor than entire0 Africa at the same time we just sent something to Mars (hasn’t reached yet and we don’t know if it will, but still ). Then again, India’s poor don’t eat or shoot at each other like Africans. Looks like our neighbor is carrying the torch though.

    • Franklin_Ryckaert

That Sudanese child is definitely not fully African. She probably has Arabic blood.

      • ixObserver

Yep, East African phenotype. You’ll find this in Zulus down south as well.

      • The Hamitic folks from East Africa look quite different than what we Yanks normally see among blacks here, which originated mainly in west Africa.

        • Franklin_Ryckaert

Yes, they have dark skin and kinky hair but their facial features are Caucasoid.

  • Franklin_Ryckaert

So of these 25 failed states 19 are black (18 sub-Saharan, one Caribbean), 5 are Muslim and one is East Asian. Explanation : failed race (19), failed religion (5), failed ideology (1).
It must be said though that Iraq’s failure is mainly due to US intervention. Before that Iraq though not democratic was a fairly developed state. The failure of North Korea is clearly due to a failed ideology, not to race or religion, as it’s successful southern brother state demonstrates.

  • Truthseeker

People of all races have had their lands colonized or occupied for extended periods of time. Some gained their freedom and proceeded to build up prosperous countries with their newfound opportunity. Others gained their freedom and then used it as an excuse to feel sorry for themselves.

  • Lagerstrom

If they aren’t already, a lot of these people from these ‘top-scoring nations’ are probably going to be your new neighbours. There’s plenty of them in my neighbourhood.

    • Massif1

They’re just there to make everyone equal.

  • Jack Burton

North Korea is technically the only failed state.

The rest, all Negroes and Sand Negroes, are failures not because of the state but because of the people involved.

    • Franklin_Ryckaert

Not entirely true. Arab or Muslim states have a higher potential than African or black states. Some can be fairly successful if :

      1) They have some resources that sell well on the world market (such as oil).
      2) They have an autocratic leadership dedicated to development and wealth distribution.

Such successful states were Iraq and Libya, both destroyed (“liberated”) by Western powers. Instability in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Syria is at least partially due to Western intervention. It is strange that Libya is not on the list. This country was made the most prosperous and developed of all Africa by autocratic Qadhafi, with free education and medical care for all. It is now as dysfunctional as Somalia.
Other successful Muslim states in the above mentioned sense are Oman and Brunei. After all, non-negroid Muslims have a higher IQ than negroids ( 85 against 67 ) and under the above mentioned circumstances can be fairly successful.

      • Libya was made prosperous by oil exports. Kadaffy Duck had nothing to do with this, and he squandered Libyan oil income supporting crazy black radicals farther south. Libyans didn’t produce the oil; it is just there, the way Ireland has rain and Australia has dangerous snakes.

        • Franklin_Ryckaert

You didn’t read point 2) in my comment. And Qadhafi did not “squander ” money, he used it for the development of his country, which made him very popular. After “liberation” by criminal organization NATO Libya has been totally destroyed. It was the most prosperous country of the whole continent of Africa.

          • This resulted in the Libyan nation loving Kadaffy Duck so much that he hired black sub-Saharan mercenaries to shoot peaceful native Libyan demonstrators who look very much like southern Italians.

What “development” did Kadaffy Duck produce in Libya? Did his administration set up factories to manufacture automobiles? They could have done this using imported engines and transmissions at the start. Did he set up textile mills to produce clothing for export to Europe, right across the Mediterranean Sea? The first open elections there in 40 years were after the Duck’s overthrow and execution.

          • Franklin_Ryckaert

You only repeat the official lies of the MSM about Libya and Qadhafi. At least watch You Tube video : “Libya & Gaddafi – the truth you are not supposed to know” and read Wikipedia article : “Third International Theory” about democracy in Libya.
You are asking about diversification of the Libyan economy. That was not yet necessary in Libya, but Qadhafi was developing agriculture. Qadhafi’s greatest “crime” was that he had a state bank that lended money at no interest, in stead of making his country a debt slave to the Rothschilds like the rest of the world. The attack on Libya by NATO was essentially a Rothschild war.

      • Jack Burton

        Wrong, total straw man.

Natural resources aren’t going to change the failed state status, as the majority of the wealth is owned by a small elite, while the rest live in poverty.

        • Franklin_Ryckaert

If you had studied such countries as Brunei, Oman or Qadhafi’s Libya you would know that the oil wealth is being distributed among the majority of the people. In Libya this has now come to an end, thanks to the “humanitarian” intervention of NATO.

  • SirMe

Pakistan and North Korea scare the hell out of me….

    • Sick of it

I’m bothered more by our government here at home.

  • SirMe

Good job Somalia, keep up the good work…

  • Andy

Under Belgian rule, the Congo was one of the most livable countries in Africa. The men worked in mines, had decent houses built for them by the mining companies, and their children went to school. Now Congolese children are accused of being witches by their stepparents and “exorcised” (beaten and starved) and kicked to the street.

    • Stanleyville (now Kisangani) and Leopoldville (now Kinshasa) were apparently quite beautiful cities. The once-famous Hotel des Chutes in Leopoldville is now a ruined empty shell. I am happy Afritards have the courtesy to rename things whites once built before they wreck them.

      • Franklin_Ryckaert

Well, they could try names like Stanleyruin and Leopoldruin.

  • SoulInvictus

…and those would be the folks that were in european countries and mixed with european populations. When a black jew from Ethiopia invents the theory of relativity, now then I’ll be really impressed.
(or does that part of the tribe still not count even though proven through DNA? 😉
Einstein looks a lot more like an old german fart than Arafat to me.

    • Anna Tree

Hi SoulInvictus, English is not my mother tongue, I am not sure I get your parenthesed sentence correctly: are you saying that Ethiopian Jews are Jews? What I read is that they don’t have any common genetics.

  • NoMosqueHere

Black + Muslim + North Korea = what a shocker!

Blacks need whites to rule them or else they’re dead; Islam promotes insanity and dysfunction; and north korea is north korea.

    • SoulInvictus

But at least they have the discipline to pull teeth and stop the zombies. 😉

    • Northerner

North Korea isn’t exactly a failed state. Life is difficult because they’ve been isolated (and thus rely on China to help them), not because of gross mismanagement. A change in leadership could turn them around for the better instantly

  • Peter Connor

What “conversation” is that? Where do I find it?

Also Canada doesn’t spend near as much on military concerns as the US. That is a huge benefit living next to the current premier superpower. The US and Canada send way too much aid to most of those failing society s.

  • The US should approach those countries with a deal:

we will foot the bill and build you infrastructure, hospitals and homes with a labor force of our felons. In return, you will take our felons as citizens after they have served their time.

Win/Win They get infrastructure and we get rid of our least productive population who will probably be among the most well educated in those countries. It can’t cost too much more than supporting our huge prison population.

  • Sick of it

Syria isn’t a failed state, Syria is a nation in the middle of an invasion. There is a difference. They were doing quite well before various groups thought it would be fun to send tens of thousand of Jihadists to invade the country.

    • Franklin_Ryckaert

Yes, behind those “rebels” (in reality mercenary terrorists, mostly not Syrian at all) are countries like Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the US and Israel, who want regime change in Damascus. Syria is therefore not a “failed” state but a destroyed state, just like Iraq and Libya. I smell a political agenda behind this list.

  • Sick of it

I’ve seen Nigerian girls with blue eyes. There is a lot more to African history than the usual, State-approved rhetoric.

  • The Final Solution

Ah this year’s Failed States Index! I compared last year’s with Richard Lynn’s IQ scores and some other goodies like the Human Development Index and the World Bank GDP/PPP data. The correlations were as predicted. I wouldn’t call them failed states though because you have to try in order to fail.

    • introspection

Do you know where Richard Lynn’s IQ scores come from? He does not have a single IQ test score from Ethiopia for example. So instead of going there and testing actual Ethiopians, he takes the average score of 250 recent immigrants to Israel from Ethiopia who had only three years of formal education. They scored 67. Nat

  • Edruezzi

You know, maybe whites don’t show up here because whites, especially males, were selected for the ability to sit in huts for months in the winter without murdering each other. Who knows.
