Majority of Americans Believe Deportation of Illegal Immigrants Not Agressive Enough

Katie Pavlich, Townhall, December 10, 2013

According to a new Rasmussen Report, the majority of Americans do not believe the deportation of illegal immigrants living in the United States is aggressive enough.

More than 20 House Democrats last week urged President Obama to halt the deportation of illegal immigrants until Congress passes a comprehensive immigration reform plan, but voters by a two-to-one margin oppose that idea. Most already think the federal government is not vigilant enough in deporting those who are in this country illegally.

Only 29% of Likely U.S. Voters think the government should stop deporting illegal immigrants until Congress passes an immigration reform plan. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 57% oppose a halt to deportations. Fourteen percent (14%) are undecided.

Sixty percent (60%) believe the U.S. government is not aggressive enough now in deporting illegal immigrants. Fourteen percent (14%) say it is too aggressive, while 16% think the number of deportations is about right.

Further, a majority of Americans want a secure border before any kind of path to citizenship is granted for millions of illegal immigrants already living in the United States.

Just 19% of voters believe that those who are not in this country illegally should be granted legal status right away. Sixty-four percent (64%) say legalization should come only after the border is secured. Seventeen percent (17%) are not sure.

The government hasn’t been aggressive enough. Our nation’s “leaders” not only continue to turn a blind eye to the slow destruction of the United States, but what little time and thought they give to the problem, they use to determine how they can profit politically and economically from the invasion.

The first responsibility of EVERY legitimate government EVERYWHERE and ALWAYS in history is to secure the realm and safeguard the lives and property of the country’s citizens. Our “leaders” have not only failed miserably on that account, they’ve effectively held up the flag of surrender by giving taxpayer-financed benefits to the illegal aliens. Our “leaders” think they can buy off the invaders exactly as Roman Senators once thought they could buy off the Huns.

Until one recognizes that it isn’t our government, but instead mostly a very powerful criminal organization, the inaction from Washington makes little sense. The United States now largely exists in name only.

It’s time for comprehensive immigration reform.

Comprehensive immigration reform will raise wages and salaries, strengthen national security, prevent terrorism, enhance our domestic crime-fighting ability, ensure that we continue to encourage the best and brightest to partake of the American dream, enhance our competitiveness and our ability to innovate, and make America more prosperous.

Make my immigration reform comprehensive, please!

    • Sick of it

Said criminal organization is run, at least in part, by people who have started up criminal organizations all over the earth…with a rather nasty one based in Russia.

      • me

Yup. Every ‘government’ in every country has been infiltrated. That’s all you need to know to figure out the obvious decline of the quality of life for most peoples. Nation destroyers and usurpers of the most insidious kind….

    • sbuffalonative

When the American people say they want immigration reform they mean they want the government to enforce immigration laws, crack down on and deport illegals.
When our leaders say, ‘the American people tell us they want immigration reform’, they twist it into ‘the American people want amnesty for illegals’.

      • Erasmus

Like a person, no country becomes corrupt over night, and when the country finally goes tits-up, although the clowns in Washington may wail that they never saw it coming, we certainly know they did.

Watching our “best” and “brightest” in Washington behaving with as little integrity as your average snot-nosed street punk, I’m surprised our country has lasted this long. A generation or two ago, parents would have, (rightfully), beaten the living daylights out of any kid of theirs who’d behaved as dishonestly as your typical Washington politician now does.

  • Good. This means that 60% of the people are paying attention and noticing things.

Again, for future reference, repeating for those needing, I’ll repost what I’ve saved to my personal AR comment hall of fame, (no, peanut gallery, they’re not all my comments), from “Margaret” some time in May 2009.

“He says illegal immigrants who haven’t had contact with the immigration system may not be flagged, but the goal is to deport the ones convicted of serious crimes.”

    Lots of luck.

There is a book out, “The Deporter” by Ames Holbrook. Holbrook was an INS agent who had the job of actually physically deporting illegal alien felons when they finished their prison terms. Most of them stayed in America.

Here are the reasons they remained in America:

    (1) The supreme court, led by Darth Vader Ginsburg ruled that if the illegal felons were not actually out of the country within 6 months of their release from prison they could stay.

    (2) The Supreme court led by Ginsburg also ruled that INS agents could not simply pick them up at the prison and put them on a plane for their native country. They could not be physically deported until an immigration INS Judge ordered them to be deported.

    (3) If the illegal felon was ordered deported, he had the right to not one but several appeals.

    (4) The immigration Judges are liberals who see themselves not as impartial Judges but as illegal alien felon’s advocates.

    (5) Federally funded attorneys and pro immigration groups managed to continue the hearings for more than 6 months. Thus the illegal felons had to be released.

    (6) It was not just the immigration attorneys who worked for the tax payer funded non profit law firms. It was also the tax payer funded immigration advocate groups, usually connected with churches who kept appealing and appealing until the 6 months was up and the illegal felon was released on the street.

    (7) On the few occasions when it was possible to deport the illegal felon there were more obstacles.

    (A) His own country had to accept him back. Sometimes his happened, sometimes not. The acceptance had of course to be within the 6 month time frame. These were terrible felons, murders, rapists etc. Many countries are happy to dump them on America.

    (B) The airline had to accept him as a passenger. The illegal felons would cause a huge scene at the airport, screaming, threatening, rolling on the ground etc. Their friends and relatives and even tax payer funded immigration advocates would come to the airport and join in the screeching and howling. So he would not be allowed on the plane.

Because of this the Deporters kept the date and place of departure secret to avoid the family and friends riot at the departure gate. At one time the Deporters sedated the illegal felon.

    (C) The federal Judiciary agreed with a joint ACLU ADL lawsuit that the illegal felons should not be sedated to get them through the airport and on the plane.

That’s how it works folks. No matter what laws the people manage to pass, the federal Judiciary and the federally funded immigration lawyers, immigration advocates and ACLU, ADL etc will manage to get around it.

We are taxed to pay for our own destruction.

    Are we dumb or not?

Holbrook worked in New Orleans for a long time. He thinks that part of the enormous crime rate in New Orleans is due to the large amount of illegal alien felons the New Orleans INS hearing Judges release into New Orleans.

The INS houses these illegal felons waiting to be deported in city and county jails and sometimes state prisons if the prisons are within reasonable distance of the INS deportation hearing offices.

The cost of housing these prisoners is substantially cheaper in the south than the midwest and northeast. Louisianna is the cheapest of all the states. So the feds send as many as possible to Southern Louisianna to be near the New Orleans hearing offices.

With the help of taxpayer funded non profits such as ACLU, they are not deported, but released into the streets of New Orleans to continue their criminal careers.

Ginsberg is as evil as her shriveled face indicates.

      • Erasmus

She openly attributes her liberalism and “compassion” to her eskimos values. Can you imagine the uproar if Thomas or Scalia were so vocal at proclaiming their Christian values informed their judicial outlook?

        • I googled it, but I can’t figure out what you mean by Ginsburg’s Eskimo values.

          • Sick of it

She’s not an Eskimo, therefore she may not feel right about eating pork or spending time with muslims.

          • me

          • D’oh, indeed. I’m an idiot.

          • ms_anthro

You might call her a non-Eskimo, really.

But she is paid to interpret the Constitution, not her own “Book of Whale Blubber”.

          • ms_anthro

Wasn’t that first published in Babylon?

    • Dave4088

I think the dwarf Ruth Bader Ginsburg is one of those three radical, left wing Norwegians who sit on the Supreme Court.

      • me

Yup. A gargoyle of the most hideous kind, both morally and physically. And the 19% of the population that wants ‘amnesty’ for the illegal, immoral, freeloading, criminal invaders crossing the Southern border are her fellow gargoyles.

      • Mike Conrad

Wow, the euphemisms are metastasizing fast around here!
        And I thought we’d settled on ‘chosenite’…

      • Bossman

I didn’t know that she is a dwarf.

  • borogirl54

This is very interesting since Obama has allegedly deported more people than any other president and the illegal alien organizations are wanting him to extend DACA to all illegal immigrants. He said that he cannot do that. We will see.

  • Spartacus

But…But… But what about the barley harvest !?!?! Don’t they know it will wither without enough diversity ???

    • me

Beans and rice and barley grow….
Mexican illegals won’t harvest it, nor the ‘entitled’ Negro.
The only things that these two groups will make an effort at is shuffling down to the local Social Service office for more ‘entitlements’ from their ‘liberal’ masters.

      • Bossman

The harvesting is still done by undocumented migrants
The “Negro” is a citizen now and expects government grants.

Nothing will ever change with the empty suits we have in government today. In a sane world, Nancy Pelosi would be a failed bra saleswoman and Sheila Jackson-Lee would be home in the projects collecting welfare.

The first step in solving anything is to put term limits in place for congress and the senate, and impeachment for the radicals like Pelosi; including prosecution for treason and abuse of power. Then the other problems would virtually take care of themselves. It’s time to remind these dogs who wears the collar, and who holds the leash.

With a wall along the border and enforcement of immigration laws, we could get rid of these foreign invaders who are also reintroducing diseases into America, and get rid of welfare for able bodied bums who want a free ride through life; they wouldn’t be able to whine about ” lack of jobs”, slavery, or any other retarded excuses.

The longer we wait to do anything, the worse things are going to get. America is on life support, and liberals want to pull the plug.

  • John R

Why is this even a “controversial” issue? There are many things we can debate-but what part of “in this country illegally” don’t some people understand? Why the debate? of course, it is a rhetorical question: Because the politicians and the mainstream media people live in their own world. They do not represent the views of most Americans. We are no longer a true democracy anymore. It is the special interests that rule us, and try and tell us what to believe.

    • Sick of it

There isn’t a debate. The powers that be are pushing for things the vast majority are against. They are criminals without limit, as no one is stepping up to stop them.

      • John R

Your handle pretty much sums up my feelings-probably yours, too.

  • Sick of it

“Only 29% of Likely U.S. Voters think the government should stop
deporting illegal immigrants until Congress passes an immigration reform

I’m guessing that figure includes almost every foreigner in this country. Go figure.

    • John R

29%? Hmmmm, “Hispanics” are about 16%; Asians, maybe 5%; blacks…yeah, sounds about right. We Whites are in this ourselves.

      • IstvanIN

Actually there are quite a few insane white “progressives”.

        • Sick of it

Some of whom are foreign in origin. Guess I need to make a secret sign since talking about them is forbidden.

          • IstvanIN

Foreign regardless of the number of generations they have lived here. The “dual-loyalty” crowd. Although not really dual-loyalty, loyalty to the mother land.

  • kenfrombayside

Keep the pressure on your reps in congress. Giving 11 – 30 million (nobody knows for sure) criminal lawbreakers legalization pure insanity. Plus, they could sponsor their relatives; that would bring the total up to about 50 million aliens in our midst. Of course, these new citizens will vote for the vile democrats and their socialist giveaways. Most of them will be unskilled, uneducated, low IQ etc. Stop this outrageous bill now. Don’t sit on the sidelines. You are not wasting your time. The American people don’t want this bill. You have to do all you can do to stem the third world assault:
    – Contact your 2 US Senators and rep in congress.
    – after biz hours, leave a message on your DC rep’s voicemail. All US Senators have multiple offices so it would be a good idea to hit all of the. Remember, be civil and don’t threaten
    – go to NUMBERSUSA then go to the take action button. You will be able to send faxes to your 2 US Senators and congressional for free. (I also gave a $50 donation).
    – use Business Reply envelopes to state your opposition to America’s insane immigration policies and the proposed amnesty. Don’t give the parties any money.
    – join an immigration group like FAIR. Strength thru numbers!
    – go to the RNC & DNC sites to email them.
    – Use the media: call a talk radio program; write a letter to your local paper. If the media outlet is liberal, then talk about economic impact of massive third world immigration.
    – text everybody in your cell phone queue now.

  • John R

If the GOP wants to have any chance to survive in this country they MUST do two things:
    1. Deport ALL illegal aliens forthwith.
    2. End birthright citizenship!

  • Cenia C Parsons

I agree! Close the border and deport the illegals! Close up all the tunnels , etc. no other country let’s people just go across their borders.

  • WR_the_realist

According to the head of the ICE employees union, under Obama just about the only people getting deported are those who are convicted for a felony, and then only if the relevant state, county or city decides to inform ICE that the perp is here illegally. (Many “sanctuary cities” refuse to cooperate with ICE.) So the Democrats are now saying we shouldn’t even deport illegal immigrants who are felons.

  • Mike Conrad

Interesting, because the NYT is quoting a poll allegedly showing the exact opposite. Whom to believe, decisions decisions…

  • Mike Conrad

It’s true in relation to other recent presidents (which isn’t saying much) but you’re right, none of them can hold a candle to Ike. I wish I could go back and live then.

  • Mike Conrad

Look up immigration amnesty under Reagan.

  • borgerboy

google “operation wetback” to see how Eisenhower handled these illegals in the ’50’s

I’d like to know the demographics of the 19% of “likely” voters.

Should also have to be from Western Europe, if you follow me.

  • MBlanc46

    Why am I not surprised?

  • FransSusan

End ALL freebies for illegals. That would stop a lot of the pukes from entering the country illegally. It’s outrageous that productive, tax paying citizens are forced to support illegal aliens!
