Muslim City Councilman Pleased as Candidates Back School Holidays

CBS New York, October 20, 2013

With both mayoral candidates supporting the addition of two Muslim holidays to the New York City public school calendar, one city councilman may finally get his wish.

As WCBS 880′s Jim Smith reported Sunday, Councilman Robert Jackson (D-7th) is the only Muslim on the City Council. He has been pushing days off in the school calendar for Muslim holidays for years, sponsoring a resolution that passed the City Council unanimously back in 2009.

He has called for adding Eid al-Fitr at the end of Ramadan, and Eid al-Adha, which honors the willingness of the prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his first-born son Ismail, according to published reports.

“If this is the melting pot of our great society, it has to be flexible enough in order to move in a direction of inclusiveness, and that’s all that we’re asking for,” Jackson said.

Jackson said Muslim students now make up about 12 percent of the city school population.

By Jackson’s count, the two Muslim holidays would only require extra days off five times over the next decade.

Mayoral candidates Bill de Blasio and Joe Lhota already have agreed that giving kids days off for two Muslim holidays is a good idea.

But some critics have said adding holidays to the school calendar is not a good idea–particularly given the proposals to add additional holidays for other faiths and cultural celebrations too.

New York State Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver (D-Manhattan) believes children should also be given days off for the Chinese New Year. City Councilman Daniel Dromm (D-25th) said a day off should also be awarded for the Hindu holiday of Diwali.

Does anybody know where I can get some toilet paper with quotes from their stupid little quran book ?

    • Alexandra1973

Just go to a used book store, by a qu’ran, and use that. People used to use the pages from Sears catalogs a hundred years ago. Don’t know how rough that paper is though.

      • Katherine McChesney

I think I’ll look for one to deface from Goodwill.

    • bigone4u

Ann Barnhardt, the Catholic virgin, posted her youtube video of her bookmarking the book with bacon slices before burning it and announcing her home address where the muzzies could find her. If only she would wake up to race reality.

      • There’s nothing more politically-incorrect than bacon bookmarks.

    • Sick of it

Honestly, I’m surprised no one sells stuff like that in Romania. You could probably make good money off doing just that.

      • Spartacus

Don’t give me any ideas 🙂

  • Puggg

Here’s an idea. How about New York become an American city, and the holidays are pretty cut and dry?

    • Sick of it

Isn’t the majority of NYC’s population foreign in origin today? Pretty sure I read that recently.

  • Alfred the Great

We continue to commit societal suicide. It is only a matter of time.

  • Lewis33

Why is there a picture of Gus Frame in this article? Ding, Ding, Ding…

  • Avalon Skye

I know that this doesn’t matter in the debate because its not anti-white so no “representative” would touch the issue but wouldn’t this proposal be a violation of first amendment since it is strictly a religious holiday?

  • bigone4u

If American women do not educate themselves about muzzie beliefs and then stand up for themselves and for Christianity, they will all be wearing tents in the next generation.

    • Nice Guy

Indeed. Islam is the worst thing to happen to Western women since giving them the right to vote.

    • MBlanc46

And the feminists will be among the big supporters out of “respect for their culture”.

  • mobilebay

Sure glad I’m old enough to recall that the only celebrations in this countres were our nation’s
holidays(Memorial Day, 4th of July, Veteran’s Day, etc) and Christian holidays. This is definitely not your grandmother’s USA.

    • MekongDelta69

The Holidays we had off when I was a kid:
      Lincoln’s Birthday, Washington’s Birthday, Memorial
Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving (and the Friday after), Christmas Eve (we got out early), Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve (we got out early), New Year’s Day

      There were also:
Valentine’s Day (school party), Good Friday (half-day),
Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween (school party), and Election Day (off).

      Today’s ‘holidays’:
Saint Martin’s Day, Black ‘History’ Month (which lasts 5 minutes), some generic President’s Day, Black Panther Uprising Day, Cinco de Mayo, Spring Solstice, Gay Pride Day/Week/Month, Womyn’s Herstory Month, Hispandex Month, Ramadan-a-ding-dong, Karl Marx Remembrance Week, Winter Solstice, and New Year’s.
(They left that last one in, because all the ‘teachers’ are on a ‘well-deserved’ month off from their ‘grueling’ schedule of ‘working’ eight months of the year, minus all the holidays, sick days, personal days, excuse days, and days where they never show up because they’re protesting something or other.)

Ain’t ‘melting pot’ multiculturalism and DIE-versity great?

      • Brian

        Ramadan-a-ding-dong!

      • mobilebay

That’s funny, MeKong. I think the only one missing is the Chinese New Year. And speaking of New Year, as a kid I always thought everyone was celebrating my birthday since I was born on January 1… the year shall remain nameless.

Robert Jackson (D-7th) is as much ‘muslim‘ as I am a Martian.
He’s simply a black radical disguised with a male version of a burqa.

Besides, most of the kids in NYC (excluding the three ‘special’ High Schools), are so dumb, and so brainwashed and indoctrinated by their equally dumb and brainwashed and indoctrinated radical minority ‘teachers,’ you might as well give them EVERY day of the year off. Believe me, it wouldn’t make that much of a difference anymore.

Make the first day of kindergarten absolutely mandatory. Register every kid. Tell them to come back in 16 years. If they come back, they get a piece of paper that says they’re the smartest thing since white bread and Alfred Einstein. If they don’t come back, they don’t get the phony ‘feel good’ diploma. Even then, I doubt that more than 10% of them would show up 16 years later.

    • MBlanc46

That 12% number got me at first, but when I saw his picture, I figured that a good many of them had to be “Black Muslims”.

  • After embracing Gay marriage, majority Whites will convert to Islam and claim that Christians put the homophobia in the Koran.

  • me

What the hell happened to the separation of church and state? Somebody needs to educate and sue these dumb asshats in the rule of law of the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Drag these idiots and usurpers to court and sue each one of them PERSONALLY, for violation of said laws. If they can ban Christmas from school, they very well better ban bloody Muslim holidays as well! Sue!

  • Nice Guy

The whole idea of the American melting pot makes me sick. I don’t want to be a part of some undifferentiated mass. I want my culture and heritage to be distinctly different and separate from, for example, the Mohammedans. We have almost nothing in common!

    • MBlanc46

The melting pot (assimilation) worked quite well for European immigrants, although it took a good century to complete it. Even if assimilation of Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, and Buddhists eventually occurs, it will take centuries, and it’s unlikely that much would be left of our culture by the time it did.

      • Nice Guy

Exactly. Mixing works for some people, not for others.

  • Jefferson

If the percentage of Muslim students in New York City public schools is 12 percent, I don’t even want to imagine what percentage of public school students in Paris and London are Muslim.

  • The sad part is even Joe Lhota is on board with this.

Oh well, I wasn’t recommending voting for him based on that, it’s entirely SQF.

And also…his opponent is a Sandinista. His wife is a Nubian, and don’t even get me started on that stuck in a ’70s time warp son of his.

  • Yale2001

Look what Muslims have done to EVERY country they are allowed to inhabit. They are a brutal group that have no plans to exist with Christians, Jews, atheist, Buddhist, etc…

  • Homo_Occidentalis

Pagans, Druids, Odinists, Buddhists, Native Americans and every other
creed should immediately be demanding equal rights to observed holidays.
Rather than stand by as white culture is incrementally marginalized,
    let’s expose the agenda.

The left is figuratively making us build the tower of Babel. By constantly pushing to have alien customs accepted as “American”, they divest the identity of any meaning. A society divided is a society controlled.

Just imagine the white man exercising his free speech in this famous Norman Rockwell painting. Do you think that he would be able to state his opinions freely in a crowd of leftist Bantus and La Raza thugs? Of course not, because diversity erodes social cohesion and trust. When the white majority goes, so too will go the virtues of civic duty, Christian modesty, and Yankee individualism that America once embodied. In the same way there is no honor among thieves, a diverse society can never engender trust; there is only the frantic scramble to bleed the community dry for one’s personal benefit.

  • Alienate? We shouldn’t.

    Pander? Not good, either.

As long as white gays think of themselves as gay first, they will always vote for our dispossession. If, like Pim Fortuyn, they think of themselves as white first or white ethnic first, then they can be on our side.

But that’s a decision they and only they can make for themselves. We can’t do it for them.

  • Allan477

When I was a kid, closing public school for religious holidays depended on the number of teachers who would be absent–If half the teachers were Jewish, the school would close for Rosh ha Shanah and Yom Kippur. On the other hand, if half or more of the kids were Jewish but only a tenth of the teachers were Jewish the school would remain open with special activities for the kids who did show up. It worked for everyone.
