Pastor Wilfredo Calix-Flores told Action News he has been afraid of returning to work at his small church on Norwich Street in Brunswick ever since he was shot in his arm during a robbery attempt there on March 11th.
Police now say the gunman who demanded a cell phone and wallet from the pastor was the alleged Brunswick baby killer, De’marquis Elkins.
According to the indictment for murder filed Wednesday against Elkins, the 17-year-old shot the pastor in a robbery attempt 10 days before killing baby Antonio Santiago while trying to rob the child’s mother.

Dominique Lang, 14, is charged with murder along with Elkins.
The 15 count indictment also charges Elkins’ mother and aunt with lying to police about his whereabouts.
Police say a nearby salt water pond is where investigators found the alleged murder weapon, a .22 caliber revolver allegedly thrown into the water by the suspect’s sister and mother.
