Opponents of Deal’s Dekalb Move Intensify Criticism

Greg Bluestein and Ty Tagami, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, February 28, 2013

Pushback over Gov. Nathan Deal’s decision to suspend two-thirds of the DeKalb County school board was intensifying as state negotiators worked behind-the-scenes to avert a Friday showdown in federal court over the move.

Several DeKalb lawmakers on Thursday called for tighter restrictions on the governor’s power to suspend and remove members of school boards at risk of losing accreditation. The 2011 law that gives Deal the authority to do that is the subject of a federal lawsuit set to be heard in court Friday.

Deal told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that his office was continuing to hash out an agreement that would resolve the lawsuit out of court, even as the main DeKalb plaintiff vowed to continue fighting.

The compromise could involve several board members resigning rather than facing a removal process that could take months. But Eugene Walker, the former DeKalb school board chairman, said he’s looking forward to his day in court and that he expected the other five suspended board members to fight on, too.

“Why would they resign?” said Walker, the only named plaintiff in the lawsuit. “If they did it would shock me.”

Deal announced Monday he would suspend six of DeKalb’s nine school board members, saying it would prevent the board from slipping into more dysfunction. The district is at risk of losing its accreditation after a December report by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools cited abusive behavior and questioned financial decisions by the members.

{snip} The board’s three remaining members don’t have a legal quorum to make decisions for the district’s nearly 100,000 students. Deal could eventually appoint replacements, but the process to remove the suspended board members takes two to five months. {snip}

{snip}

School board member Pam Speaks said at a state hearing last week that she would resign rather than fight for her seat. Nancy Jester and Donna Edler have expressed uncertainty when contacted by the AJC. The other suspended board members—Sarah Copelin-Wood and Jesse “Jay” Cunningham—could not be reached for comment.

Some DeKalb lawmakers, frustrated by what they see as an overreach by the executive branch, are pushing to rein in Deal’s powers. State Rep. Dar’shun Kendrick, D-Lithonia, said she was mulling legislation that would allow the governor to replace school board members only after collecting signatures from voters in their districts for a recall.

{snip}

U.S. District Judge Richard Story is scheduled to hold a 2:30 p.m. hearing to weigh the constitutionality of the law. The challenge claims it gives Deal too much power to oust duly elected politicians, but state attorneys called the claim “meritless” and urged Story to dismiss the complaint.

Some critics on Thursday brought up the specter of race, noting that a Republican governor was removing Democratic members of a majority-black school board in a county that is 55 percent black.

“This process is definitely unconstitutional, violates due process and further disenfranchises African-American voters,” said John Evans, who heads the DeKalb branch of the NAACP.

Walker, who is black, steered clear of the issue. He called the state action to remove most of the elected school board an unconstitutional act of “tyranny.”

“I’m trying to make this bigger than race,” he said. “I’m angry as hell because this is personal. They’re trying to diminish and discredit me, and all I’ve got is my reputation.”

We go to da ATL’s local TV station websites and see N’gro News Galore. It’s all N’roes. All N’gro Crime and Corruption.
Do any Whites even live in Atlanta?

  • Peter

DeKalb County is run by a bunch of incompetents. Even their police department has a blog that has to be extremely embarrassing to their good officers. Google dekalb officers speak to see for yourself. Lots of corruption and 99% black.

    • Sloppo

Many years ago, when Dekalb was majority white, their PD had a very good reputation. When that county turned dark, that went right out the window and I can’t imagine why since race is just an imaginary social construct. Must be just a coincidence.

Georgia was down to 55% white at the 2010 census. In the near future, GA will be controlled by a black led Democratic Party. We’ll see what all the tough talking white conservatives do then.

    • ojiom

That’s why you should support secession before it’s too late.

    • Beetlejuice

They will move out to a red state.

      • liberalsuck

I was reading that in Civil War II. The whites in the South will move to white enclaves in the Southern states, which won’t last too long as they’ll be controlled by angry black cities surrounding them, OR those whites in the South will move to already Red States that have a strong white conservative majority already. Of course, the bigger question is how do those Red States keep out the ‘diversity’ and multiculturalism that has destroyed all the great major cities and countries? Whites run from diversity, form new communities, the nonwhites follow, they destroy what we built, we move again, create new communities, etc. It’s a viscous cycle and neither whites nor other races seem to notice a pattern.

        • sickandtired

It’s all about the color of their skin and not the content of their character. Crack heads get re-elected (M. Barry), accused of fraud and re-elected while in prison (JJjr), it does not matter blacks vote black regardless of the outcome of their time in office.

    • Jefferson

Has a predominantly White city or town ever elected a known crack cocaine user as mayor ? I could not find any examples on the internet.

      • liberalsuck

I can’t find any. I know whites aren’t perfect, but you don’t see white areas that are full of crime, corruption, gangs, mismanagement nor would you find many whites in those areas tolerating much of that for too long. We’d tolerate a nonwhite doing that to us, just not a white in a position of power. It’s almost the opposite with blacks and browns. They will tolerate all kinds of abuses from their own race, but not even a tiny bit of that from whites. We tolerate all sorts of abuse from nonwhites, but we would pound a fellow white right into the pavement if they were doing even a small amount of this abuse to us.

        • ms_anthro

The only example I can think of is Buddy Cianci, disgraced former mayor of Providence, RI. He was forced to resign twice for his crimes.

  • ncpride

I don’t see why anyone is trying to ‘hash out’ an agreement with these people. Just by reading the comments on the article, looks like people are past fed up with these failures and ready to force them out at any cost. A lot of those comments are race realism 101. Good for them.

  • RHG

Always funny that when you’re a dealing with a lot of black people in position of power the word “dysfunction” seems to always be in use.

    • Sloppo

That’s just a coincidence that happens about 99% of the time because of random chance.

      • ms_anthro

Exactly! Correlation does not equal causation, even when it very obviously does.

        • Tom_in_Miami

This is more serious than it is.

          • ms_anthro

What do you mean, Tom? I don’t understand.

          • Tom_in_Miami

I was trying to sound like Monty Python. Absurd, in other words. Sorry it lacked the humor.

          • ms_anthro

Oh, sorry for not getting it! I’ll lighten up a bit next time. To answer your question, no. Not long. But I hope to hang around awhile and contribute what I can. Racial awareness is not just for men by any means. We women have much to fear from an increasingly “vibrant” society.

            Sarc on!

    • Katherine McChesney

Too many chiefs, not enough indians is often the reason for their failure. Incompetancy rules in black organization.

      • HamletsGhost

You’re describing a symptom, not a cause. Blacks love to be promoted regardless of performance. Think of some African dictator with a general’s uniform sagging down with all the medals he’s generously awarded himself for imaginary achievements.

        • Katherine McChesney

What I cited is a cause. I worked for a black corporation and know first-hand the behavior of blacks when they’re put in charge of something.

    • Liberalsuck

Oh, come on now. I’m sure they only reason all these black organizations, black neighborhoods, black cities, black countries and such are just “lacking funds” and still suffering from the “legacy of white racism” and need more of your money or to be moved to nice white countries and nice white neighborhoods.

    • Katherine McChesney

      “Incompetence” is another good description.

Putting blacks in charge of a school system is liking putting a witch doctor in charge of a hospital. Things go downhill fast in both instances.

    • John

Blacks were actually placed in charge of an entire “hospital” in Los Angeles. At the time, it was heralded as a monument to civil rights. It was entirely proposed of Black “administrators”, Blacks “doctors”, Black “nurses”, and Black “staff”, or, at least, Blacks masquerading in those affirmative action roles in a token hospital for token hires.

The name of the “hospital” was Martin Luther King Jr.-Harbor Hospital. The local Blacks and Mestizos that it served came to call it “Killer King” after a high number of deaths, botched operations, and massive incompetencies occurred at the facility. It was finally closed down.

      http://www.nytimes.com/2007/08/11/us/11hospital.html?_r=0

      • ken

They should have gotten special government funds to keep it open.
Anything that useful would be a waste to shut down.

        • John

LOL! I can envision it as the butt of a comedy skit on an anti-White show like “Sanford and Son”.

Aunt Ester: “Fred, you bettuh stays well or dey be done sent yo black azz down to killa king…and evuh-body knows what dey does to you up inside killa king!”

Fred: “Killa king? Oh no! Not killa king! Ohhh, what am I gone do? Oh dis is da big one! Dey gone take me to killa king! Ohhhh. Why can’t I goes to a white hospital?”

          [laugh track here]

You should Google some of the true horror stories of “Killer King” and how the Blacks attendants in the ER frequently sat around drunk or eating lunch while patients were passing out or dying from gunshot wounds, multiple stabbings, blunt force trauma, beatings, pistol whippings, drug violence, crack overdoses, etc., in the waiting room. There were also stories of horrific physical abuses that went beyond the usual apathy and outright neglect. There were attendants punching ER patients in the face and instigating fights with other ER patients. Of course, since the patients were entirely Blacks and Mestizos, who knows who was really at fault? I could easily see a Black “nurse” walking up to a complaining Mestizo patient and slapping her down. Likewise, I could easily see a Black patient becoming unruly and pulling out a Saturday Night Special, opening fire, and spraying the everyone in the room with hot lead because they felt disrespected by the staff and couldn’t find a White person to blame for racism.

Bottom line: Blacks and Mestizos are destroying North America. Meanwhile, Muslims, Blacks, Indians, and Pakis are destroying Europe! They are like a very aggressive and lethal form of cancer spreading northward. Will Whites affect a cure before it is too late? Blacks truly belong in Africa, as nature intended. Europe and North America should be exclusively White, and I will say that the day I die.

          • bigone4u

I fear that the entire health care system will sink to the level of MLK Harbor under Obamacare. Like you say, the country is headed toward the same status of dysfunction as the all the crappy countries the immigrants are coming from. They bring their dysfunction with them.

          • IstvanIN

But those aforementioned groups bring us boring white folks diversity!

      • John

Correction: I meant to type “composed of” not proposed of”.

      • chuck_2012

yes it was finally closed down but the patients paid the price in this case. I read that the “nurses” lacked even the basic skills of nursing such as taking a pulse or temperature and the like.

        • John

Yes, you’re absolutely correct. That’s the way affirmative action works. A hospital can find an old homeless black wino in the gutter with a fourth grade education and hand him an affirmative action stethoscope and voila! — meet the new emergency response paramedic!

Plus, Whites have to go though years of rigorous college level coursework at an accredited university to become a registered nurse. If a Black man can sort of open a band aid 2 out of 5 times, he’s told, “Congratulations! You’re a nurse!” Of course, even that litmus test never comes about because they never attend class. They simply flash the race card and graduate with honors.

The bottom line is that we live in a very disturbing and unjust society. There are completely different rules for Whites vis-à-vis everyone else. The feds ignore and even facilitate illegal immigration. This begs the question, “How can an officer of the law look a U.S. citizen directly in the eye when he doles out a traffic citation?” Different rules based on race/ethnicity!

How can the IRS imprison Whites for minor tax code violations, while illegal aliens reap untold benefits from social security, which they never paid even a stolen penny into? Different rules for different races/ethnicities!

When sequestration kicked in, we learned that the DHS raced to release thousands of illegals on the orders of Muslim Soetoro! In the same article, we learned that the IRS would not be impacted during tax season and would be exempt from sequestration! The tyrants always ensure that they have the means to attack White citizens first and foremost!

        • StillModerated

The nurses do know how to take a pulse and such, but quite frankly, they’re simply lazy. YT will be blamed for not providing proper motivation.

Or like putting King Herod in charge of the creche.

  • Al Gator

Reminds me of an old expression that cropped up to spite affirmative action. It has been changed somewhat to reflect the current situation.

Goes like this: “When all is said and done, a nigra in the White House, after all, is still nothing more than just a nigra.”

  • APaige

I clicked to see the picture and the number one goal of the board is:”To narrow the achievement gap and improve the graduation rate by creating a high
performance learning culture in all schools and sites.” (giggle giggle) It should have been : “Not to lose accreditation”.

    • Melanie

It amuses me when blacks talk about “closing the achievement gap” as if whites are going to just stand still or lower our IQs somehow while we wait for them to catch up.

      • chuck_2012

do you think these new high performance learning environments could ever teach a black the proper way to say the word ASK? To me this marks a truly sub par intellect…the inability to speak the english language properly.

    • chuck_2012

asians and whites are at the top of the heap intellectually whereas blacks occupy the lowest rung of achievement. Has been this way for hundreds of years and I don’t expect it too change for hundreds more if ever. one only has to look at the morons and the way they talk and how they think to understand this. its a head shaking moment because with all the advantages enjoyed in the united states stupidity is the path they choose. and they can pour all the resources and money on these “stoodents” and it won’t change.

couldn’t possibly have less than wonderful intentions. Just who is that raciss ol’ GA governor expecting Atlanta schools to actually educate black chillun? Come on, we all know how likely and inevitable that is already! They’re ALL destined to be astronauts and brain surgeons! It happens every single day!

I read about one last year who spelled her name La-a.

    • HamletsGhost

Whoa Nellie! I thought that name denoted a male, not a female. It seems the old rule of 2 syllables=male, 3 syllables=female has been defenestrated.

  • Joe Sewell

Let me guess. The governor allowed the two White Men and the half White Woman to remain. The six negroes were removed LOL!!! The pseudo negro ‘leadership’ up here in Charlotte is just ‘window dressing’. Just look at their resumes.

  • SmithandSmith

Let them lose their accreditation. Unless of course, that means all those blacks would be moved into other White Schools, then I say, let the blacks stay on the board and just move the White Students out of that school.

  • Shattered

America, the land of race and sexual symbolism. Few care anymore who can do the best job, who can get the job done. It’s all about how non-white you are and if you take it up the butt that’s a “plus.” Deterioration is a foregone conclusion under such circumstances.

  • Fire Eater

Allow a native Georgian and refugee from Atlanta to the Great White (Northeast) Georgia to run down the racial dynamics involved in “Diverse Dekalb” county.

This black-ruled pesthole is the murder capital of Georgia – so bad that A & E’s “The First 48” is filmed there…an honor usually reserved for Memphis, Miami and Detroit. The much trumpeted “First Black Sheriff” of Dekalb, Sidney Dorsey, is serving life for offing the SECOND black sheriff of that county. Most of the county is a non-White wasteland – mostly black but with a large third world ghetto on Doraville and “Chambodia’s” infamous Buford Highway.

“Whites” in Dekalb are mostly NOT “our kind of people.” Feminist cranks, Gays, trendy yuppies and hipsters for the most part, they are pushed into mostly-White Dunwoody and the Emory University area. And about THAT area – a large protest this week over an Emory official mentioning the “Three-fifths Compromise” of the Founding Fathers…hundreds of rich liberal brats and their non-White pets showed up for a rally to protest “racism.”

Gov. Deal needs to quit wasting his time in reforming the “empowered minorities” acting out on the Dekalb School Board…a much better use of his time would be to bring back Milton County so that White taxpayers in Fulton county can cease to be the cash cow for Atlanta ghetto politicians and their vote-buying schemes.

The Memphis City School Board gave up its charter last year forcing Shelby ounty Schools to absorb them. Now, the blacks want to control the county school board and appoint its Superintendent. Of course they want to appoin tthe present Memphis Superintendent.
So, they destroy the last school system that is failing in every measure but want to take over the succesful school system. Further they want to block the suburbs from starting their own systems.

    • sickandtired

      Hey Rebel,
I am in one of those suburbs. This city/county thing has been going on forever. The blacks in the memphis area just want to run everything. The main problem is, the run everything into the dirt!

      • HamletsGhost

The bigger problem is, they want whites to pay for it!

      • Melanie

Well, since they are incapable of succeeding, the least they can do in the interests of some twisted “equality” is bring whites down!

    • Melanie

I am very interested in this matter, though I don’t live there. What would you say is the likely outcome-are there any indicators that the suburbs will be successful in their fight to create their own systems? Why in the world would anyone give the reins to the very people who dissolved their own failing system just so they could try to ruin the successful white system? See, that’s one of the many things that chaps my azz about negros-they don’t care about succeeding, that would be too much like work even if they had the necessary wherewithal to do so, which they don’t. But rather than even try to be successful, they’d much rather destroy anyone (namely whites) who is successful. They even do it to each other-that famous “crabs in a barrell” syndrome.

      • rebelcelt

Well, now it is in the hands of the State and courts. A law was passed to allow Shelby suburbs to start their own school systems. It is in the courts but the state house might rewrite the law circumventing the complaint. It is up in the air. I hope to move to Nashville someday. Every measure here is just stopgap . We will lose the demographic fight eventually. memphis is already tough to find any jobs.

  • Sloppo

I agree with blacks who don’t want a white governor telling them how to educate their children. I also believe that whites (including those in Dekalb County) should have the right to dedicate their school tax money exclusively for the education of their own children without the influences of black students and their mothers. I believe educational segregation is the strategy which would best serve both the black and white communities. Black students should not be forced to suffer the humiliation of being academically compared to non-black students. White students should not be forced to face the violent criminality of black students. We should allow both blacks and whites to control their own destinies.

  • Alexandra

One time my family and I were visiting relatives in the Detroit area. We went into a Taco Bell. I saw that the workforce (haha) there was 100% diverse (as in all black). We turned around and walked out. We managed to find one not quite so diverse.

  • Morris Thecat

The answer is simple. Don’t “boot” the six blacks. Instead, point out the fact that Detroit has been depopulated and can not support services to the whole of the area that presently comprises metropolitan detroit. Then create two municipalities where there is presently one. Let the monkeys have their small section that they can provide services to, then create a new, white detroit out of the rest. Move all of the black residents into the small black area, then cut off the roads, sewers, electricity etc. Make each section separate and independent. In the new detroit install a white mayor, city council, police force etc and let them keep out the blacks. The new, white Detroit will flourish. Tell the blacks that they pay for what they want and not to ask the white people of the state to do it. As the black area once again depopulates, take more of it’s territory.
