NYPD Plans to Double Size of Gang Unit

USA Today, October 2, 2012

The New York Police Department is planning to double the size of its gang unit to 300 detectives to combat teen violence fueled by dares and insults traded on social media.

Rather than target established street gangs involved in the drug trade, the reinforcements will focus mainly on “looser associations of younger men who identify themselves by the block they live on, or on which side of a housing development they reside,” Police Commissioner Raymond said in prepared remarks.

“Their loyalty is to their friends living in a relatively small area and their rivalries are based not on narcotics trafficking or some other entrepreneurial interest, but simply on local turf,” Kelly added. “In other words, ‘You come in to my backyard and you get hurt. You diss my crew and you pay the price.’“

Under the new plan, the NYPD gang unit will work more closely with other divisions that monitor social media for signs of trouble.

“By capitalizing on the irresistible urge of these suspects to brag about their murderous exploits on Facebook, detectives used social media to draw a virtual map of their criminal activity over the last three years,” Kelly said.

What do you think a street gang is but “young men who identify themselves by the block they live on?”

And give evidence to the U.S. Attorneys.  I’m sure using an interstate network to plan a violent crime is a Federal law.

  • So now the black youth is so out of hand they have to add an extra 150 detectives to try and stem the tide of violence?  I’m sure those detectives work for free right?  They don’t, well then who is picking up the tab?  Oh right, just another “hidden tax” on the WHITE man.

    So much for free speech.

Today they add 150 to monitor coloreds.  Tomorrow they add 500 to monitor YT.

I say let freedom ring.  Let coloreds insult each other and let the bullets fly.

Don’t waste precious tax dollars intervening in tribal feuds between Stone Age cretins who are going to be dead or in jail in a couple of years anyway.

Thank goodness they are so stupid.

Sorry a little Africana dyslexia. My point remains, that the disintegration of a cohesive gang-centered counterculture/source of authority in a State with no clear monopoly of violence indicates THE fundamental inability of post-to Africa to maintain any semblance of order. Neither the hood nor the halls of any parliament will benefit from the presence of our darker brethren.
