Metta World Peace Thinks Steve Nash Is the Smartest Laker, Mainly Because He’s White

S. Evans, Yard Barker, October 3, 2012

When it comes to Metta World Peace, nothing he says or does should surprise you. Whether it’s wishing everyone a Happy Labor Day when it’s really Memorial Day, or elbowing James Harden in the head, or even changing his name from Ron Artest to Metta World Peace. {snip}

Metta World Peace

So it doesn’t surprise us at all to see the response when asked if Steve Nash was the smartest player on the Lakers.

The response comes courtesy of LA Times blogger Mark Medina’s Twitter account.

I was going to send Mr. Nash a congratulatory note but then realized that being the smartest player in the NBA is like being the world’s tallest dwarf.

    • Pelayo

Damn! I wish I had thought to say that. My compliments to you Harry. I love it! I just got you up to 17 “Liked”

The scandinavian equivalent is “like being the best skier in the middle east”….
Funny especially considering the “non-skiing nations” comments.

Coming from a man who changed his name to Metta World Peace this comes as no surprise.

    • Pelayo

I assume that his surname is World Peace.

      • Up to my neck in CA

        That’s Mr. Peace to you…ha-ha-ha!

      • arjay

I think they dropped the hyphen. His maiden name is “World” and his married name is “Peace.”

let it begin with me………………  please

  • Oh please, the smartest Laker is easily Pau Gasol.  He was enrolled at the University of Barcelona medical school where he was studying to become a surgeon.  He left medical school to pursue his NBA dreams.   In April 2010, Gasol was scheduled to sit in on a spinal surgery,
wearing surgical scrubs, with Dr. David Skaggs, the hospital’s chief of
orthopedic surgery. Skaggs has said, “We talk to him now almost like he
is a surgical colleague.”  He has taught himself Italian and French to go along with his childhood languages of Catalan and Spanish plus English.

I was going to say the exact same thing that Pau Gasol is the smartest Laker.

You must admit, Metta’s Tweet was AWFULLY intelligent. . .

It’s so amusing when you see Whites buying into that weird name changing thing that Blacks are wont to do. I had a colleague who changed her name three times within two years and everyone else just went with it. Do you remember when the so called singer “Prince” changed his name to “The Artist formerly know as Prince”?  People didn’t know whether to address him as;  The”, “The artist”, “The artist formerly” etc. . Later his name was an icon of something.
“Ladies and gentleman, let’s have a round of applause for the great eh, eh, you know,  that THING!

    • Jesse_from_Sweden

       Prince was smart though.
Prince was never his real name, just his stage-name.
A name that was owned by his record label, so he wasn’t allowed to keep it when he changed labels.

So he came up with the clever idea of calling himself a symbol, which means everyone refered to him as “the artist formerly known as prince”, in effect keeping the name prince without actually legally using it.

He switched back as soon as the name prince got freed up from the legal stuff.

      • ed91

the artest formerly known as inmate 167448

      • Pelayo

Actually Prince WAS his real name. He was born Prince Rogers Nelson in Minneapolis.

When this fool was with the pacers it seemed there was an incident every week or two.

artest and a couple of his running buddies at one of the all-night strip joints, puffing out their chests until one would finally pull a gun, turn it sideways and light up the parking lot.
fortunately, nothing ever seemed to get hit by any errant bullets.

but boy, were they bad??  yes, they bad!

    such men.

  • ed91

Wasn’t it hilary axelrod clinton who said that after artest retires from the nba he would be

appointed head of the Peace Corps?

  • Unlike most of you, I like this Metta guy. He’s a race realist.

“Metta World Peace”?! Once again, another real-life demonstration that Blacks need to always say and do things over the top. They are masters at self-aggrandizement and go to extremes in personal self esteem. They exaggerate and embellish any accomplishment they might have – and even those they don’t have or never earned! I recognize, of course, that people of any race can be arrogant and boastful. But we must admit that Blacks, by and large, excel at this particular practice.

Much of this arrogance is because Blacks, as a people, have accomplished very little (actually, next to nothing!), so they try to exaggerate all that they say and do. Another reason is because Blacks, being products of inner-city public schools, have been spoon-fed the poison of ‘self-esteem’ by DWLs all their lives – and so, naturally, they take this attitude into every sphere of life. Rather than having personal self-esteem emerge as the result of hard work, discipline and actually earning the respect of others, they are taught that by simply ‘believing in themselves’ and being ‘proud’ of their race they can do and say anything they want. They are a delusional people.

    • Pelayo

I totally agree with you bluffcreek however it COULD be argued that they’ve “accomplished” quite a bit depending whether the criteria for “accomplishment” can be applied to negative things.
They accomplished the degradation of many of our large cities, accomplished the task of  totally intimidating and terrorizing  the people who still comprise the majority of the US population . They’ve accomplished the destruction of our public education system,  making many of our major university campuses scary places, the paralysis of our justice system and a great part in the weakening of our economy due to the strain placed on it by the endless entitlements that they receive.
I always have to laugh when they claim that the as Blacks can’t be “racist” because they hold no power.  Their “accomplishments” add up to a lot of power.
