Race and Fraternities

Henry Wolff, American Renaissance, November 1, 2013

The last stand for free association.

Fifty years ago at the University of Alabama, Governor George Wallace made a stand for the right of public institutions to discriminate by race, but the federal government persuaded him that there would be no segregation tomorrow, much less forever.

In September, hundreds of UA students evoked that legacy when they marched behind a banner reading “The Final Stand in the Schoolhouse Door.” They were protesting what they consider the last form of formal segregation on campus—and perhaps in society—the university’s fraternity system. To be more accurate, they weren’t protesting the eight traditionally black sororities and fraternities, which haven’t accepted a white member since 2007; they were opposing the membership practices of the predominately white Greek organizations.

Controversy began when two black girls who rushed the traditionally white sororities did not receive membership offers from any of the 16 on campus–none of which had a single black member. The university newspaper The Crimson White used mostly anonymous sources—only one gave her name—to paint a grim portrait of white sorority members clamoring for diversity but stymied by socially backward alumnae or, in one case, an adviser. National media picked up the story, leading Gov. Robert Bentley—a UA alumnus—to say that sororities should choose members based on proper qualifications, not race.

Jesse Jackson came to the campus and suggested students browbeat the white sororities until they give in. “Gender or racial segregation is abhorrent to an intelligent, civilized people,” he told The Crimson White. “What’s at stake here is your future, not the traditions of their past.”

As pressure mounted, UA President Judy Bonner met with sorority advisers and decided to let the sororities increase the number of their members and establish open bidding—girls who never went through rush could be offered membership at any time—so that sororities could add non-whites before the next year.

The pressure was effective. A little more than a week after the first student newspaper report, Dr. Bonner released a video announcing “progress”: 14 non-white women, including 11 blacks, were offered membership; four blacks and two other non-whites accepted.

The Crimson White editorial board declared that “History has been made.” A Salon headline was “Finally! Alabama ends segregated sororities after public shaming.” Most reports read as though a “color barrier” had been broken, even though the “Jackie Robinson” of Alabama sororities pledged back in 2003.

The reality, of course, is that the Alabama Greek scene will remain mostly segregated, just as it is on campuses everywhere. Whites and blacks socialize separately, and few students of either race want to be tokens in organizations held together by racially-rooted traditions. Alabama’s white sororities will let in a few white-acting non-whites each year to fend off charges of “racism,” but they will remain largely unchanged.

Why the outrage?

The real significance is symbolic. Diversity-mongers get nervous whenever organizations or even hobbies are largely white (see these recent articles about CrossFit and marathons). Tokenism is an important step in dissolving racial, cultural and social exclusiveness. It leads to the assumption that since some non-whites can act white, race is only skin-deep and not part of group identity.

Greek organizations are some of the few remaining bastions of white identity—and they have deep roots. Their beginnings go back to the founding of the republic, and some of today’s most popular fraternities and sororities were formed just after the Civil War. These groups are bound by longstanding traditions and a multigenerational alumni base that includes some of the most prominent members of American society.

Last year, about 950 colleges and universities reported Greek participation to U.S. News. Particularly in the South, where fraternities are an important part of culture on campus and beyond, it’s not uncommon for a fifth or more of a school’s students to “go Greek.” Unspoken racial segregation is the norm for Greeks nationwide, though there are no reliable demographic data.

Traditionally-white Greek houses are informally sorted into “tiers.” Members of top-tier houses typically come from well-to-do families, have social graces, are some of the best looking and best dressed students on campus, tend to have the best Greek houses, and are overwhelmingly white. Top-tier fraternities have the most rigorous hazing, and top-tier sororities demand strict behavior of their members. When anti-Greek academics rage about “privilege,” they’re probably thinking of top-tier houses.

Bottom-tier Greeks enjoy less “privilege,” and their members are sometimes indistinguishable from the general student body. They are still mostly white, though they usually accept a few non-whites.

These informal rankings within already selective systems make Greek life one of the more exclusive institutions in America. This, combined with the prominence of many of their alumni, makes them ideal targets for opponents of hierarchy. Many people would like to change these groups fundamentally or do away with them completely.

Modern Persians

University administrators typically undermine tradition. In her video statement announcing the admission of non-whites to UA sororities, President Bonner said “I am confident that we will achieve our objective of a Greek system that is inclusive, accessible and welcoming to students of all races and ethnicities. We will not tolerate anything less.”

To achieve their goals, administrators can impose any number of penalties: social probation, curtailing pledge periods, or banning a chapter outright. Arizona State recently pushed fraternity housing off campus, and some schools have banned all Greeks.

Such anti-Greek actions are done for legal cover and to give the impression of effective administration in the face of negative publicity, but most administrations probably oppose the very idea of exclusive organizations. Occasionally, they are honest about this.

At Princeton, 15 percent of students belong to Greek organizations, which are not officially recognized by the university. In 2011, Princeton President Shirley Tilghman–a Canadian–announced a ban on freshmen participation. As she explained:

. . . Princeton’s Greek-letter organizations are significantly less heterogeneous than our student body as a whole, recruiting a disproportionate number of white, affluent, and privately educated members and serving as a pipeline to selective eating clubs. . . . The kind of social and economic stratification that this engenders undermines a cardinal goal of a Princeton education: to introduce students to as wide a span of perspectives and experiences as possible. In our globalized and multicultural society, comprehension of and affinity with those least like ourselves have never been more important, especially in freshman year, when foundational friendships are formed.

There are also some non-Greek students (God Damn Independents, or GDIs, as some Greeks call them) who oppose fraternities. VICE recently profiled a long-lived group at UA called the Mallet Assembly which led the sorority protests. The assembly “celebrates equality and diversity,” and a glance at its members suggests why.

Similar students typically staff school newspapers—which are regularly accused of anti-Greek bias—and graduate to fill the ranks of the major media, where they will write ominously about the latest hazing scandal or Mexican-themed parties where Greeks wore sombreros.

Sometimes, the impetus for “inclusion” comes from a Greek organization’s “nationals”—the parenting group that has the authority to revoke the charters of individual chapters.

The Kappa Alpha Order (KA) was founded in 1865 at Washington and Lee University and spread throughout the South. In 1923, Robert E. Lee was declared the “spiritual founder” of the group, and the organization remains steeped in Southern tradition. In 2010, however, KA nationals banned Confederate uniforms at the traditional “Old South” parties and parades, where men dressed as soldiers and women wore hoop dresses. The ban came after a black UA sorority complained that the Confederate procession had paused in front of its house on campus.

Greek national organizations want more members and no bad publicity, and so are willing to water down traditions and make concessions that will keep them in the good graces of university administrators. They sponsor and support week-long programs for chapter leaders such as LeaderShape and the Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute that teach squishy things like “inclusive leadership” and encourage students to make “bold change” and to confront “the harsh realities of the current state of fraternity/sorority life.”

Going “forward”

The future for fraternities looks grim. Greek students, who are rarely on campus for more than four years, are up against entrenched administrations and hostile media. Forty-four states have passed anti-hazing laws that criminalize even benign initiation rites under the guise of preventing acts which were already illegal.

Federal authorities investigate the slightest whiff of “discrimination,” as well as any claim that Greeks have created a “hostile environment” for women or minorities. They threaten to withhold federal university funding in order to pressure administrations.

The most popular fraternity website, Total Frat Move, has voiced its support for “anti-discrimination.” A few holdouts, such as the popular forum Old Row, will value tradition over conformity, but in the long run, if traditional Greek organizations want to maintain their character they will probably need to go off campus and underground.

Will you people please stop wasting your time with colleges ? Or if you MUST go, then at least do something useful, like medicine, chemistry or engineering, as those are skills we’ll need in the future. But you need to found “fraternities” outside of the marxist indoctrination camps, as these will be more important in the future. They might even save your life one day.

    • Suggesting that White lives should be saved has been deemed a racist construct.

      • dukem1

There must be some strange circle in diversity hell for someone like Jesse Jackson who would complain about a sorority practicing gender segregation.

  • The real significance is symbolic. Diversity-mongers get nervous

I wish the libertarians among us would read that paragraph, then read it again, then again, then again. The powers that be aren’t doing what they’re doing vis-a-vis white fraternities/sororities because they have the intent to dismantle freedom of association, for if that was their purpose, they’d go after black frats/sors.

No, my deluded libertarian friends. This is entirely a race war being waged against white people and white identity.

    • Libertarians are egalitarians, too. They would read, “since some non-whites can
act white,” then all of them can.

In the libertarian religion, everything is the government’s fault, never the individual’s.

      • Nathanwartooth

Mainstream libertarians are egalitarian because EVERYONE outside of race realists are egalitarian.

      • Terra Magnum Imperium

There are more “closet” Amreners amongst Libertarians then most people realize, but they keep their mouths shut because we face enough difficulties thanks to the Republicrates will use any excuse to ban Libertarians from running for office. I personality agree with most of this site but I have little to lose.
Immigration and free trade are 2 disagreement I have with the Libertarian Party but I support a Libertarian style federal government with a few core functions while states are free to choose their style of government and pretty much be left alone.
Individual choice not egalitarianism is the core of libertarian belief system.
But white Libertarians have to get real with minorities because few of them would accept a libertarian style of government. I guess it is the “Gimme diss an Dat” mentality.

        • M&S

You blew it with the following two paragraphs, completely missing the point of libertarian delusion-

Immigration and free trade are 2 disagreement I have with the Libertarian Party.

Which is to say you support people who support your disenfranchisement ‘except on the areas where they are disenfranchising you…’

…but I support a Libertarian style federal government with a few core functions while states are free to choose their style of government and pretty much be left alone.

And how do you propose to create the unified front which forces _not asks_ the Feds to back down and assume a smaller role? Power granted never willingly yields itself back unto the granter.

Individual choice not egalitarianism is the core of libertarian belief system.

Which is why -legends- are filled with tales of the unique individualist hero saving the day but real wars have very few such moments of Sgt. York or Audie Murphy. And we are in a war.
Individualism which is not guarded without request or steady state homeostasis is _victimization_ as other groups gather and use the three laws of military action: Mass, Defeat In Detail, Logistics. To bury ‘individualism’ in the dirt.

But white Libertarians have to get real with minorities because few of them would accept a libertarian style of government. I guess it is the “Gimme diss an Dat” mentality.

Libertarians just want to tear off a chunk of the breathing corpse that is America and they will do whatever they have to to appear proper and upstanding to assure their place in the feed line.
The difference between a country and a nation is that a country is just the dirt and infrastructure and resources. A nation is _a people_. Until you are willing to acknowledge that certain groups don’t deserve majority opinion because they are criminal, stupid, immoral and _ONLY THIRTEEN PERCENT_ of the population, you have no clue about what is real and what isn’t. A nation is not kind, it is pragmatic to those whose bonded identity groups gives them a reasonable belief in each other’s shared dignity as genetic future to want to share it.

Don’t want to breed with blacks, /ever/? Don’t want your kids to think that is a natural thing? Then you had better _stop supporting their push for illegitimate power over you_ while you are still the majority population.

That’s the brazen hubris as ignorant stupidity of whites in action here.

Look at that ‘parade’ in the second photo. How many blacks are standing behind that banner? It’s all about whites disenfranchising each other in a clawing match to take what is and redistribute it amongst each other using ‘I’m more outraged than you!’ didactism to make themselves seem larger and more morally attractive than they are. That only works until the enemy you ‘share’ power with has all of it and suddenly they don’t need a Vidkun Quisling anymore.

The last time I saw it this bade was the 1950s. But the threat is not McCarthy’s Communism. It’s real. It’s enslavement and replacement of an entire people.

We cannot stand back and let our fellow whites sell us out. We have to make a separate system and let the two compete so that whites who see what they are throwing away will understand that they can stick together. Or join their racial sewer that is what’s left when White America divorces itself.

Freedom and Prosperity are their own attraction. The Fad Of Bad is only practical when there are no other, non-fear based, choices out there.

          • Terra Magnum Imperium

MS I agree with you on quite a few points but as I said in past posts The Libertarian Model seems the best way to run a large country like the USA because we all remember what happened to the Soviet Union under communism(central planning) we are simply to large and diverse also possible to low in IQ for Socialism to work. Perhaps Fascism might work well in the USA.
I support a Libertarian Federal Government with a few core functions following strict constitution limits while the States would keep most of their money and govern as they see fit.
Soon we would quickly learn what types of government works.
What other Political Party’s would offer a good alternative?
I have considered the Constitution Party which has a lot of libertarian views but being an Atheist / Humanist I probably would not receive a warm welcome because an Imaginary being is not the centerpiece of my belief system and feel the state should be neutral in regards to faith.
I would love to see the Bill Gates of the world help their own race but seem more concerned with sending hundreds of millions educating Africans which is money not well spent.

          • Anna Tree

Well, because you didn’t post a malware site 🙂

    • Nathanwartooth

Any real libertarian would be all for freedom of association and discrimination.

Getting rid of freedom of association is how you destroy Whites. Without being able to discriminate Whites can’t flee from Black crime, lower housing prices, etc.

      • One of the many little lessons constantly and repeatedly pounded into my head when I was growing up was that words are meaningless, and that actions have consequences. Therefore, I have become pretty good at discerning the differences between people’s mouths and their feet.

And that includes the people that call themselves or are happily called libertarians.

There are lots of things that theoretically proper libertarians shouldn’t be doing that they are or should be doing that they aren’t. That’s because we’ve been making the mistake of paying attention to libertarian mouths. Really, we should pay attention to libertarian feet. And when we do that, we find out that the non-negotiable essence of modern libertarianism is denial of race and open borders.

      • Alfred the Great

“Libertarians” that I have talked to do not understand societal Liberty. Our country was founded to be a union of individual societies (the States). That’s the meaning of the motto: E Pluribus Unum. Each with its own identity and laws. Samuel Adams said that people were free to come to Massachusetts, provided they were Congregationalists. It’s called freedom of association, which includes the freedom of not associating. In order for a society to preserve itself, it must have laws that preserve its identity intact. Thomas Jefferson was against immigration and said that if we put 20 million Republicans into France, that would change France and he was right.

        • Nathanwartooth

          You are correct.

Modern libertarians are just left leaning, politically correct destroyers of society.

They want to abolish minimum wage while allowing anyone in the world of 7 billion people to come to America and work if they want to. Without any consideration for wages or overpopulation. They are dangerously insane.

As a libertarian race realist, I feel that the only jobs the government can do extremely well is protect it’s citizens from foreign influence. This means controlling the border and protecting wages for the middle class.

Race realism really transforms the way you think about everything. There is good reason for everyone trying to deny it as much as possible.

      Stated perfectly.

  • Richard Johnston

Does this mean we will no longer have the Congressional Black Caucus and the Black Entertainment Network?

  • Manimal Cracker

We should start calling this the Chuck-E-Cheese Phenomenon. It is what happens when blacks are allowed to crash the doors. A good thing becomes worthless and unpleasant. The situation will be that no one will want to be a member of a fraternity.

    • Truthseeker

That’s the whole idea behind egalitarianism. if everyone can’t have something good, then no one should have it. The shared equality of misery.

      • Alfred the Great

        Sounds like communism.

    • dmxinc

No one will want to be a member of what was once a white fraternity.

Don’t worry, there will still be exclusive fraternities for everyone else.

“What’s at stake here is your future, not the traditions of their past.”

As I like to say, what is historically black must remain black. What is historically white must be destroyed. While an historically black neighborhood is exalted and must be preserved at all coasts an historically white neighborhood is seen as proof of hate. Everywhere we see search-and-destroy missions when something is deemed ‘too white’.

    The real significance is symbolic.

These challenges are both symbolic and real. They’re meant to show white people that they have no right of self-determination. Whites must be beaten to submission and learn they are powerless to say no.

Blacks destroy because they can’t create. They know their only hope is to attach themselves to anything whites have created.

  • [Guest]

Segregation by race should be NATIONAL, thus making the issue of segregation within national institutions moot.

There is no other solution to the race problem.

    • Alfred the Great

Actually with a merit-based society, free markets, and freedom of association, segregation would happen naturally. The majority of them would either starve or live in slums. All that our government does is prop them up at our expense.

      • [Guest]

That’s true. Nonetheless, I believe it’s also true and that most of us here would agree it’s true that the U.S. would be much better off with an overwhelmingly white population.

Given that people naturally divide where there are the greatest differences between them, multiracial, multicultural societies are more likely to be fragmented into competing factions and therefore lack national purpose.

That’s my basis for believing that the U.S. is finished.

  • Bleau Gumms

Whites are the devil, so much so that we want to be in their fraternities, we want to live in their neighborhoods and we want to work in the same office.

I don’t get the people in the bottom photo holding signs protesting the Confederate Ball.

If some group of people want to dress up and dance together, who are we, as fellow citizens in a free Republic, to tell them that they must stop? I’m not Confederate, have no dog in this fight, have no axe to grind. I just don’t understand why the protesters can’t leave other people alone to do as they please. How are they harmed? By what line of reasoning do they feel justified in interfering with other people’s right of free association? And are they certain that they want to take that line? To trash the Bill of Rights?

As the competition between progressive Whites grows, their sadism toward “unacceptable” White attitudes and behaviors will also grow.

“Good” Whites (sensitive, tolerant, inclusive, welcoming) will up the ante on each other by increasing how vicious they are to evil Whites (insensitive, intolerant, exclusive, unwelcoming, prejudiced, biased, bigoted, hateful, extremist, violent, dangerous, racist, classist, sexist, homophobic, islamophobic, xenophobic, pedophobic, Christian).

Just being a member of a healthy White community today gets you accused of Nazi Ku Kluxing.

I mourn for this generation of college students, who are victims of mind control of the worst kind. They are not allowed to live according to natural law, which means preferring to live among one’s own kind, while engaging in sexual practices that conform to norms throughout thousands of years. Many of these students can feel in their bones that something is wrong about the anti-white, anti-heterosexual agenda, but they must profess with their mouths what is not in their hearts or be threatened and ostracized by campus Marxists. Is it any wonder so many of them end up on medications or as alcoholics? Have sympathy for them, as they are victims of a vile, perverse social engineering scheme unlike anything in history.

    • OhWow

I’m a recent college grad and I couldn’t have said it better myself. Part of the reason I ended up here was searching around the internet to see if anyone else had this “weird feeling” that this country is becoming increasingly hostile to whites and that the media is doing everything it can to encourage interracial dating, and turn women into men and men into women.

      • KingKenton

IMO, you are making an important observation concerning the nexus of race and feminism. They are joined at the hip and feed each other. Our fight is as much against feminism as it is against multiculturalism and racial amalgamation, if not more so.

I’m a lifetime member of a co-ed Greek society: Phi Theta Kappa. I was very active in my school’s chapter, until I graduated. One thing we had working in our favor was that PTK is the Honor Society, and requires a minimum GPA of 3.5, and a minimum of twelve credits at the 100 level or higher, before a student can apply. There is also the membership fee, and anyone who drops below a 3.0 GPA is put on suspension, and can be expelled from the society.– which dissuades some types from applying, as well.
I suppose it’s just a matter of time before Phi Theta Kappa is forcibly dissolved for being so exclusive.

    • Pro_Whitey

Of course, it has to be dissolved! How could the organization expect to integrate if it has such standards? That’s as good as putting up a sign saying “No blacks allowed.”

I live in Arizona, and my school was so big we had multiple campuses through the city. So my chapter had “branches” that were all added together for a total racial count that had a lot of Mexicans and Asians, but they mostly live on the west side, and the east side is White (and where I live). For as long as I can remember, there were no Blacks. They came to school in the Fall, and were gone in three weeks. I don’t get it–it’s not like community college is that hard.

I was a Lambda Chi Alpha at my old alma mater. We were one of the few houses that chose not to haze its members. We were pretty mellow, but very competitive with the top-tier houses. We had a token Black guy, a couple of Mexicans and several Asians out of about 80 members in total. This was back in the 80’s when white people were still very homologous to themselves and didn’t associate much with other races. But every so often a person of color would fall into the milieu. It was rare.
I’m glad I didn’t have to go through hazing. I wouldn’t have put up with that abuse. The price of joining a frat on those terms wasn’t worth it to me.

“What’s at stake here is your future, not the traditions of their past.”

The traditions of the past inform and support the present and the future. The Greeks are to be worked over so that they have no roots, without which a people doesn’t survive. All part of the plan.

Are you in the South? Is it just me or are Southern girls really better-looking? Their accent certainly helps, I can’t get enough of it.

I’m in Louisiana and yes, we do seem to have prettier girls.

Stop the insanity. These people should get a life.

I thought your “picture is worth a thousand words” approach was brilliant. You don’t need to say anything else after showing the contrast between the “top tier” outfits and the “others.”

Fraternity members, in my experience, care nothing about philosophy, art, or any kind of study that does not involve making money. Of course I am excluding the scholarly fraternities and sororities for whom I have the highest regard, because they are united by something other than drinking beer and copulating.
Because they have no interest in philosophy, art, or any kind of liberal art, the fraternities do not have the grounding to mount a defense. They will fall. But their ignorance might have been their salvation, for a time, since the leftists have taken over the liberal arts.
The frat boys do not even care enough (or have the mental acumen to) study libertarian thought, or the thoughts of the Founders.
This is doubly-sad: That the leftists and multiculturalists have taken over the “higher studies,” and that a bunch of hell-raising frat boys are the last bastion of all-whiteness.
It is like the Alamo being defended by twelve-year old boys.

    • ThomasER916

Your last analogy is apt, even though you meant it as a pejorative. By the time these whites are old enough to form their own group identity, because they’re adults who must fend for themselves, they’ve spent every moment since childhood being told they have no group identity, no culture, no heritage. In essence, they’re children. We shouldn’t hate them for being children. We should begin by giving them a classical education – a European identity.

“sororities should choose members based on proper qualifications, not race”

Race is a proper qualification. So is wealth. So is how old or prominent your family is. Why do negroes insist on shoving their snouts into places where they are not wanted?

I don’t doubt that some black girls can “act white.” But sororities are some of the more mindless, shallow organizations on the planet. They want their member to LOOK a certain way . . . and God bless them for it. The only thing prettier than a rose is a garden of roses.

If a Diversity finds a picture of a black face skit in a frat house, he can go to several national and FedGov agencies for support and funding to get the doors padlocked. He makes national news wins Civil Rights Awards.

When we see black girls with straightened wool on their heads, or see black males dressing preppy, we have no one who will listen to our cries of outrage and pain.

    Science, Millions of Answers.
    Religion, Millions of Arguments.
God is Santa Claus for Adults and what has the Catholic Church and most Protestant faiths done for whites? aside from making them look stupid and backwards. Lets look at the trinity for example: sacrifice myself to myself to save you from myself, that’s just absurd. It amazes me how intelligent people shut off their brains when it comes to their chosen faith.

More whites should embrace reason and science which would allow us become better grounded in reality and far more Humble after all we just small parts of the universe attempting to understand ourselves.

As I mentioned elsewhere I support a libertarian federal Government while giving the states the freedom and money to choose the types of governments they desire. 50 Laboratories of innovation would exist and we would quickly see what works

The Libertarian social model differs a lot from the Liberal social model
Both support Diversity but Libertarians also support your right to discriminate. Libertarians would never force another morals on you or expect you to finance them.

    • Science proves itself wrong every generation. You say more whites should embrace reason and science, but who else does? Jews, I guess, Asians somewhat.

Check out this article from Bertonneau on Girard, it talks about the cultural changes Christianity brought in and, in an indirect way, why humanists like you think Christianity is backward. Its pretty interesting.

Anyway, don’t write off Christianity until you consider that Europe’s rise to prominence happened during it’s most Christian phase and that it is diminishing as it becomes “post-Christian”.

When the US Constitution was ratified, there were only about 3.5 million people and 13 states. Today there are over 300 million in 50 states and several territories. You are right in your reply to M&S that we are too large and diverse for a centralised government to function effectively. I believe some sort of break up or dissolution is inevitable.

        • …But things that are created must be the work of some maker, and the maker cannot have been created. For if he had been created, he also must surely have been created by some one, and so on till we arrive at something uncreated. The Creator, then, being uncreated, is also wholly immutable. And what could this be other than Deity?

“Sacrifice myself to myself to save you from myself, that’s just absurd.” Very interesting. I am a Christian, but you made a very intersting point…My question to you is this, how could Europeans have made the cultural advancements that they did without Christendom? Wasn’t Christianity the basis of Magna Carta….. our rights came from God, not King?

Libertarianism is indeed “every bit as utopian as communism”, and like communism, can work only in a white homogenous richer society.

    • As it turns out, homogeniety is the key to making most ideologies work!

“It leads to the assumption that since some non-whites can act white, race is only skin-deep and not part of group identity.”

Except when it comes to White privilege.

Whites are supposed to have the group identity based on racist, oppressive, and intolerant unearned White privilege, which obligates them as a group to “do more for the other.”

  • I apparently made an editing mistake in my previous comment. The point of my statement about science proving itself wrong every generation was to say that you can’t build a stable society on a constantly shifting foundation. God, on the other hand, is constant.

As for science, can you list and explain the evidence for evolution, or explain the proof for the Earth revolving around the sun, explain gravity? Are you proficient enough in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, et al. to fully understand the research? Or do you take it on faith that somebody somewhere in a lab coat (vestments?) can and that’s good enough for you?

You said,”Christianity has been on the wane throughout western Europe for at least a century.”

Europe, itself, has been declining for about as long, too. Coincidence or causality?

Roger how is an Illusion constant? And which of the millions of gods do you speak off. Change is the only constant in the universe….

    Galatians 3:28
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

    • In salvation, we are all equal.

You’ll remember 1 Timothy 2 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man;[b] she must be quiet. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve.

This shows an inequality in life between men and women. If there were no differences between men and women, homosexuality would be ok, too. If this verse didn’t erase gender differences, how can you construe it have erased ethnic differences?

We are all created in God’s image, but Acts 17:26 says From
one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole
earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the
      boundaries of their lands.
