Kamala Harris’s Campaign of Racial Retribution

Robert Hampton, American Renaissance, July 17, 2019

California Sen. Kamala Harris, who wants to be the Democrat candidate for president, wants government grants for black home buyers. Her plan would cost $100 billion and give blacks up to $25,000 for down payments and closing costs. Housing and Urban Development would oversee it. Black families making up to $100,000 in most areas and $125,000 in expensive areas would be eligible.

Sen. Harris says this would “deal with the racial wealth gap.” “A typical black family has just $10 of wealth for every $100 held by a white family,” the senator said earlier this month. “So we must right that wrong and, after generations of discrimination, give black families a real shot at homeownership — historically one of the most powerful drivers of wealth in our country.”

Special treatment for black home buyers isn’t new. It was one of the causes to the Great Recession of 2008. President George W. Bush encouraged non-white home ownership by pushing Freddie and Fannie Mae to increase loans in “minority markets.” Lenders duly gave more money to non-whites, ignored bad credit, and cut down payments — sometimes to zero. Once lenders ditched traditional creditworthiness standards for blacks and Hispanics, deadbeat whites could get mortgages, too. Non-white home ownership increased and Republicans expected a windfall of black and Hispanic Republican voters.

Instead, the housing bubble burst. Non-whites accounted for most subprime mortgages in 2008. Blacks, Hispanics, and Asians were all more likely to be in foreclosure than whites in 2008. Blacks were 3.3 times more likely. Liberals blame systemic racism for this rather than blacks.

Sen. Harris wants to revive this policy, with more even more money behind it. The government must make sure blacks own homes even if they can’t afford one and have shown no sign they can take care of one.

Sen. Harris loves policies that would benefit non-whites at whites’ expense. She supports reparations. “When you are talking about the years and years and years of trauma that were experienced because of slavery, because of Jim Crow and because of all that we have seen in terms of institutional and legal discrimination and racism, this is very real and it needs to be studied,” she said at a CNN town hall in April. “And we need to look at exactly how the response should be played out.” She did not rule out direct cash payouts.

Last year, Sen. Harris proposed the LIFT the Middle Class Act. This would make monthly payments to families who make less than $100,000 a year, and would primarily benefit non-whites.

Sen. Harris supports forced busing. “[T]he schools of America are as segregated, if not more segregated today than when I was in elementary school, and we need to put every effort, including busing, into play to desegregate the schools,” she told reporters last week. She says the federal government should force busing onto reluctant school districts.

The senator attacked former Vice President Joe Biden over race during the Democratic presidential debate: “It was hurtful to hear you talk about the reputations of two United States senators who built their reputations and career on the segregation of race in this country. And it was not only that — you also worked with them to oppose busing.”

Sen. Harris also whooped up her crazy immigration policies. She raised her hand to show support for decriminalizing illegal immigration and treating sick illegals for free. She said she opposed President Barack Obama’s plan to expand a program that notifies Immigration and Customs Enforcement when a non-citizen is arrested.

In a speech in June, Sen. Harris promised to legalize millions of illegals:

As president, while I fight for Congress to pass 21st century immigration reform, I won’t wait. I’ll take action to lift barriers Dreamers face to pursuing legal status and put them on a meaningful path to citizenship. These young people are just as American as I am, and they deserve a president who will fight for them from day one.

That same month, she said it is “inhumane” to stop illegal immigrants at the border. She also backs sanctuary cities. No wonder Vox calls her “the Senate’s strongest immigration advocate.”

Sen. Harris claims white nationalism is one of the biggest threats to America. She has demanded tech giants censor “hate” from their platforms and threatened to hold them “accountable” if they don’t. She says the Trump administration has “minimized” the danger of white nationalist terrorism and must do more to combat it. She also thinks the president is a racist.

Sen. Harris beats the drum for blacks and other non-whites, but people wonder how black she is. She is not the descendant of American black slaves. Her father is Jamaican — descended from slaveowners — and her mother is Indian. Some progressives wonder about her racial identity. CNN host Don Lemon argued in February that Sen. Harris may be black but not African-American, an important difference for many blacks.

Of course, when conservatives wondered about her blackness, liberals were appalled. CNN suggested doubting Sen. Harris’s racial background makes you a “birther.” Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren insisted tech platforms censor anyone who raises the issue.

This debate is beside the point. Kamala Harris sees herself as black and will advance black interests. Blacks know she will give them more stuff and make whites pay for it. They forgave Barack Obama his African father. They will vote for Sen. Harris, too.

Kamala Harris in the White House would mean an unprecedented level of racial retribution.
