The Difference Between Public School and Catholic School

Anonymous American, American Renaissance, February 5, 2023

This story is one of hundreds Colin Flaherty planned to publish in a book before his death. American Renaissance will post one a week.

The first fistfight I got into was at a state park when I was five. A black kid pushed my four-year-old sister off a slide and cussed at her. I told him, “You don’t talk to white people like that ever.” He cussed me out and took a swing. We brawled, and I won. My mom was mortified but when my old man told my two grandpas what happened, they were very pleased.

I went to Baden School in St. Louis, Missouri. It was a public school in an all white neighborhood. In third grade, by court order, black hoodrats started to get bused in. This was 1968. School turned into a nightmare. For students like me, recess turned into ass beating time. The blacks attacked all the white girls and picked on the weak white boys. Blacks started all the shit at Baden. Much of the school day was wasted on teachers asking blacks to read a paragraph from Kon-Tiki or Little House on the Prairie, or asking, “Who was Vasco de Gama?” and getting screams and profanities for a reply. It wasn’t uncommon for black students to spit on teachers, either. In eighth grade, I started attending Holy Cross Catholic School, where there were two black students, and wow what a difference!
